Chapter.19
Hey guys hope you are doing well. This chapter is a bit more of a filler. I didn't originally plan to write this chapter but I'd figure it would be better for all the characters in the chapter and would allow a critical character to come into play. And with that, I hope you all would consider critiquing and reviewing down below. Appreciate you all and hope you all enjoy.
The week continued on for Kenny McCormick till the weekend hit. Let's just say he was avoiding Cartman best he could. He only really spoke when it was just himself,Kyle and/or Stan.
Regardless of his feelings towards Cartman, Kenny decided to hang out with his friends anyway. Stan and Kyle shouldn't be cut off due to Cartman's mistakes. Besides, Kenny knew what it was like to be on the other side of that with the whole school associating himself and his two other buddies with Cartman's shenanigans.
The boys had decided to go to the mall so they could have a bit of fun at the arcade and mess around. Cartman left early after getting a phone call. Something about a rondevu with Butters.
This gave Kenny time to hang out with Stan and Kyle. He knew he wasn't as close to Stan and Kyle as they were with each other but they appreciated his company nonetheless. He explained the whole issue at school with Cartman. Kenny gave a similar response to what he told Heidi. Minus the whole repeating days and pain shtick. It wasn't something he wanted to worry his friends about seeing as he already bummed them out with the whole death thing before.
Kyle and Stan understood this and respected
it.
Although hanging out with his friends was good, Kenny was looking forward to the following day. He was gonna get to see Heidi without any surrounding forces such as Cartman and teachers silencing them in class.
Kenny woke up early and prepared himself. He even rehearsed the conversations he was gonna have with Heidi. It still felt weird. "Liking" her in that way.
Unfortunately, Heidi had coaxed Kenny into coming to his house again. Hopefully, having another chance to experience the McCormick household for what it truly was. And a chance for Heidi to hang around Karen. Kenny thought Heidi was a positive influence on Karen so the more the girls interacted, the better.
Kenny also had a back up plan. Just in case his parents...popped off. Ice cream had never been a bad idea and unless Heidi was lactose intolerant. Then that could potentially end horribly. But hopefully, it wouldn't come to that
After Kenny had cleaned up his room and hid every playboy and skimpy bikini girl picture he had, made sure he looked good.
He never noticed how messy his hair could be so he decided not to do anything about it. And Heidi never said anything about it so maybe it was alright.
He told Heidi that he'd hangout around 2:30pm. It was 2:00pm.
Even if she had been dropped off, Kenny doesn't feel comfortable with Heidi being out alone around Sodosopa with all the homeless around.
So, Kenny decided he would meet at Heidi's house as a surprise. That way they could walk together and talk. Kenny also wouldn't have to worry about her safety as well.
Kenny walked around his house one last time. The dishes were put away. His father was home, but he was asleep. Karen was playing in her room. Kevin and Kenny's mom were out of the house.
If his dad didn't pop off or anything, the scene was set for a good day with Heidi. Kenny grabbed his trademark jacket and walked towards his door.
After exiting his house, Kenny put his jacket on and turned to see a surprise.
There she was, in front of Kenny's eyes.
Kenny looked around, looking for any sign of a car or homeless.
"Ummm...it's a bit early...And how did you get here?"Kenny asked
"Ooo well I'd thought I'd surprise so I walked here and-
"All by yourself?"Kenny said
"Ya, my parents had to work so I wasn't able to get a ride."Heidi said
"And your parents are okay with you walking? Let alone coming over?"Kenny questioned
"Well it took some convincing but my parents trust you and they know I can take care of myself. Besides I carry pepper spray."Heidi said as she pulled out a can out of her sock.
"Sneaky...Has she always had that? Would she use it on Mysterion?"Kenny thought to himself
Kenny could be selfish as he put his own luck with mortality. That's why he felt such a strong need to question Heidi. But, Kenny forgot that Heidi was stronger than he would normally give her credit for. As long as she was there.
"Alright, come in. The homeless are gonna start showing up."Kenny responded
"Okay."Heidi said as she moved towards the entrance of the old house.
"You gotta be a bit quite because my dad is still asleep."Kenny added
"Alright."Heidi responded
As the pair came into the house, Kenny heard someone come down the hall. He was hoping that it was Karen and not his intoxicated father.
Kenny thought about it. Even when he wasn't intoxicated with drugs, Stuart McCormick had a tendency to go on about how the rest of the town and the country was responsible for their economic situation. Kenny could easily see a situation where his father would say something to Heidi about her family's connection to their mother.
And without the support of his mom, Kenny would have a very hard time raining him in. And the point of Heidi's little costs was to have a proper introduction with at least some of the McCormick household.
Kenny's prayer was answered and Karen had emerged from her room.
Heidi smiled and waved
"Hello Karen, are you having a good day?"Heidi said
Karen walked up to Heidi and gave her hug to Heidi's surprise. Kenny just smiled. He was happy to see Karen was close enough to someone to give them a hug.
"I'm doing fine."Karen said with a smile as she looked up at Heidi.
"I'm very happy to hear that."Heidi said
"I set up your lunch date."Karen said
Kenny and Heidi both blushed. Kenny hadn't really seen this as a date and more as time to hang out.
Karen led the pair to Her room. Kenny wanted to say something. But, he didn't want to ruin the mood that had been set by the girls.
Although, Kenny would be lying if he said that he wanted Heidi all to himself. Kenny was the first time he actually wanted something that his sibling had. But, Kenny knew better to be than to be selfish. Especially his own sister who had experienced similar hardships to himself.
Kenny looked to his left and looked at Heidi, she had a genuine smile. Kenny smiled as well. As long as Heidi could keep smiling, so could he.
As they entered Karen's room, Heidi noticed the details of the young girls room. There was a tea table but it was missing a leg and had to be supported by magazines. The tea set was all plastic and certain cups had been chipped.
The chairs also seemed to be a bit damaged. But based on the way Karen was smiling and had everything organized, Heidi could tell that this was Karen's pride and joy.
Karen took a seat. She qued her brother and Kenny realized what he was supposed to do.
"Ooo..here."Kenny said as he pulled out a chair and gestured toward Heidi.
"O thank you."Heidi replied as she took her seat.
Kenny sat down. It was kind of awkward with his sister being there.
Karen grabbed the tea pot.
"Would you like some tea?"Karen asked Heidi.
"Sure, I'd love some."Heidi said
As Karen got ready to pour the "tea", Heidi actually thought that it may have had tea. Heidi's hope we're met with disappointment as literally nothing came out. Guess it was all her imagination.
"Thank you."Heidi said, trying not to show her slight disappointment.
Karen also "filled" her own and her brother's cups.
"So Karen, are you well versed in any super heroes."Heidi asked
"Not really, that's more of my brothers thing."Karen responded
"She's not gonna ask what I think she's gonna ask, is she?"Kenny thought to himself.
"Do you know anything about Mysterion?"Heidi asked
If Kenny was in an anime, this is the part where Kenny would have a realization and his face would stretch and appear as if it was in a fish bowl.
Did Heidi know? Did she know that Karen didn't know? Where had Kenny gone wrong? Did he stop Heidi? Should he tell Karen himself.
"So many questions!"Kenny thought to himself.
Kenny could feel a nervous tinge in his stomach. The anxiety from Heidi's arrival and the possible exposure to Karen that he was her guardian angel was making him feel sick. He was also beginning to sweat.
"Ooo, he's the one with the question mark right?"Karen said
Kenny could feel himself sweating more and more.
"Well, I kind of see him as my guardian angel."Karen added.
Kenny could hear his heart beat in his ears. Why here? Why now?"
"SO MANY QUESTIONS!"Kenny thought to himself.
"O my gosh, I kind of see him like that too."Heidi said with a slight smile.
If now was the time, Heidi would have revealed it. Kenny felt like he was about to combust with anxiety. Maybe he was gonna die in front of Heidi. It was only a matter of time anyways.
"I've actually had a few interactions with him...or maybe it's a her..but ya, they've been really helpful and down a lot for me."Heidi said
Kenny felt all the anxiety come off his shoulders with that statement. That last statement could mean two things. Heidi really didn't know who Mysterion was or she did know but wanted to protect his identity from Karen. Regardless, Mysterion's mask wasn't going to be unveiled today. Kenny felt like a balloon that had lost all of its air. Kind of like a loose fart.
The anxiety had fatigued Kenny. He needed to get his head back in the game.
"Well, I think I've had too much tea, I'm gonna go to the bathroom for a sec."Kenny said abruptly.
Kenny excused himself and exited Karen's room to go to the bathroom.
The girls just assumed Kenny had a weak bladder.
"So umm, did Kenny tell you anything that happened with Cartman?"Karen asked
"Well, just Cartman up to his bull shit."Heidi said.
Heidi didn't give many details as she figured Kenny shouldn't be the one to disclose what happened to his sister.
"Oo…"Karen said in a shy manner. Almost like Karen had been offended at something she had said.
Heidi caught this. It was simple how she used to get when people would call her out for how terrible Cartman was.
Heidi didn't have a way to change the subject so she thought to add to the current one. Maybe she would make Karen feel better.
"What about you? Did Kenny say anything to you?"Heidi asked
"No. And Cartman didn't say much either."Karen responded.
"Oo? You talked to Cartman."
"Ya, I asked but I wasn't able to get any details. Whatever it was, he was pretty secretive."
Karen knew that Cartman and Heidi had a shrouded history. All she really knew was that mentioning one to the other was quite touchy.
"So you're able to talk to Cartman?"Heidi questioned
"Ya, I know Kenny and his friends have a hard time getting along with him. But...I dunno..he's been kind to me.."Karen said
"Really?"
"Ya, he actually...well...I'm not supposed to tell anyone this...but he also likes tea parties.."Karen said
"O my god, no way!"Heidi said in surprise.
The Eric Cartman she had known was always trying to be the dominant, masculine type. She knew he had a very childish side. But tea parties, well it was Cartman. And he's unpredictable.
"Ya well, please don't tell anyone..please."Karen followed up, repeating herself to ensure assurance
"Don't worry, I won't. I think it's very nice that he is willing to share that side of him with you."Heidi said
What Heidi actually wanted to say was "Whatever he's done, it's all just a front to get what he wants. Don't acknowledge him Karen."
She kept that thought to herself. Although Cartman represented all that was wrong in her eyes, Heidi didn't want to influence Karen's opinion of him. Karen was her own person. And Heidi knew that all the negative opinions just caused doubling down. Heidi also assumed that Kenny would have said something about getting involved with Cartman to Karen. Maybe Kenny was doing something similar and not trying to influence
Karen's opinion.
Heidi wants to say something. She wasn't gonna bluntly tell her no and that Cartman was evil. Just to be careful. Hopefully, she could prevent what happened to herself from happening to Karen.
Heidi awkwardly tried to "drink" her tea before realizing there was none in the cup whatsoever. She felt pretty stupid to say the least.
She really didn't want to upset Karen. But, maybe it would be different coming from another girl. But at the same time, she wasn't the same type of older figure Kenny was to Karen,
Before the words could escape Heidi's lips, Kenny walked back into the room from his bathroom exploits.
"Hey guys, sorry about that. When you gotta go, you gotta go."Kenny said with an embarrassed smile.
Karen decided it was time to leave the pair alone. The only reason she decided to set up a tea table was to make sure the pair didn't have to be in the living room with one of their parents. It's the least she could do for her brother. Karen had the intuition to tell when her brother was in love.
"I'll grab you guys some snacks."Karen said
"Alright."Kenny said
Karen exited the room while her brother took his seat at the tea table.
"I hope I didn't scare her off."Heidi said
"Scare her off?"Kenny questioned
"Well, we talked about the whole Cartman situation while you were gone."
"Okay...What did she say? Or what did you say more over?"
"Well...apparently, Karen talks with Cartman and has tea parties with him.."
"Oo ya, well I did get into it with her when I saw her coming out from his house."
"Oo..wow..So you've said something?"Heidi asked
Kenny put his arms behind his head.
"Ya, on multiple instances."Kenny added
"Okay, good."Heidi said
"What did you say?"Kenny asked
"Well, I just said that I'm happy that she was able to bring that side of him out. I didn't want to change her image of him. I'm not like you where I've had the experience with both of them for years. And Karen is her own person."Heidi said
Kenny then took a noticeable exhale.
"So is Cartman. You know that."Kenny said in a serious tone.
Heidi shouldn't have been surprised by Kenny's serious attitude. He did get into a conflict with him earlier in the week. And Heidi knew how protective Kenny could be of his younger sister.
"I know, I just…didn't want her to double down like how did when people said that kind of stuff to me."Heidi responded.
"Your right. It's just...well maybe I'm the wrong kind of person to tell her. The last time I tried to tell her about this kind of thing, it didn't end well. Maybe you should be the one to tell her."Kenny said
"I dunno, I feel like I don't have the clout with her like you do."
"Even so, you're a lot more sincere and compassionate than I am. You've proved that to me a bunch of times already. And when I do it, it just sounds like I'm a parent telling her no. With your way, it may just sound like friendly concern."
"You really think so?"
"I know so Heidi. You have that comforting effect on people. At least I think so..it's no surprise with someone amazing like you."
Heidi blushed at Kenny's comment.
"Thank you.."Heidi said as she played with her hair. Still blushing of course.
"Anyway, you weren't fooling anyone. You know damn well there isn't any tea in these cups. No offense. Are you sick or something?"Heidi asked to change the subject.
"Well…
(Flashback to a few minutes ago)
Kenny entered his bathroom and began to wash his hands. He then splashed the water in his face.
Kenny looked at his reflection in the cracked mirror and noticed his reflection.
"Come on man! She's just a girl! A girl that's just hanging out."Kenny said to himself.
"She doesn't seem to know and that's a good thing. Ignorance is bliss..You know that better than anyone."Kenny said to the mirror.
In terms of the concept of ignorance, Kenny didn't mind it. Especially after the whole Cartman situation. And if meant protecting two people that he was close to, then so be it.
Kenny slapped his face. He needed to get his head in it to win it or this was gonna be an awkward day.
"You can do it! You can win! You can do it! You can win!"Kenny said to himself in order to hype himself up.
(End of flashback)
"Uuu well, I woke up a bit early so just need to make sure I was truly awake."Kenny said
"Okay."Heidi said. She wasn't convinced. She guessed Kenny respected the acronym TMI.
"I imagine Karen would have been back with smacked by now."Heidi followed up
"Ya, what the hell is she doing."Kenny said
Kenny decided to get up from his seat and left the table to see what Karen was up to. Heidi followed suit.
Kenny and Heidi walked into the McCormick kitchen to find Karen staring into the fridge.
"What's up Karen?"Kenny asked his little sister.
"Umm..there doesn't appear to be anything in the fridge."Karen said
Kenny peaked into the fridge and there was nothing. Only a jug of water. Kenny guessed that there was only frozen food left.
Heidi couldn't help but feel embarrassed for the McCormick siblings. Not having anything to eat. Heidi knew not to judge a book by its cover and respect Kenny's philosophy of no sympathy but she couldn't help but pity their situation.
Kenny looked towards Karen to see her looking towards the ground in embarrassment. Kenny could see the disappointment in his sister's face.
Kenny put a hand on his sister's shoulder and smiled.
"It's okay Kare, we can go grab something in town."Kenny said.
"There's no need."Heidi added
Kenny and Karen turned their heads towards Heidi.
Heidi pulls out her phone.
"I can get something delivered here."Heidi said
Karen's face quickly turned to excitement.
"Really!"Karen said with excitement.
"Yes! Whatever you'd like Karen."Heidi said
Karen's developed a huge grin. Kenny couldn't help but smile either. It's not often Karen had an opportunity like this. And the fact that Heidi was the one to give the opportunity made it even better.
"Are sure that's okay?"Kenny asked. She was still their guest afterall.
"Of course it's okay. Now, what would you like?"Heidi responded
"Ice cream!"Karen exclaimed
"Sushi!"Heidi said
Karen's kept growing.
"Burgers!"Karen kept adding on.
"Burritos!"Kenny added
"Chicken!"Karen said
"Cupcakes!"Heidi said
"Pizza!"Karen shouted in her childish excitement.
Kenny put a finger over his mouth to convey to Karen that time wasn't a time to shout. Otherwise they upset their father.
"Did someone say pizza?"
The three kids turned to see Stuart McCormick awoken. He had a bad case of bed head and was wearing a pair of blue jeans and a white tank top.
"Uuu ya dad. We were thinking of ordering some."Kenny said
There was a noticeable, awkward vibe in the room. Kenny was hoping that his father didn't say or do anything.
"Hello...I'm Heidi."Heidi said, hoping to ease the tension.
"Sup." responded
Stuart decided to quickly changed the topic back to food.
"I'm out of beer. I'm gonna go out to get some. I'll grab you kids a pizza too. Sounds good?"Stuart asked
"Ya, thanks."Kenny said
"That would be great! Thank you so much."Heidi added so it sounded more appreciated.
"Cool."Stuart said as he went to grab his things.
After grabbing his things and his trademark hat, Stuart McCormick left to get the pizza(amongst other things).
Since the possibility of pizza was stuck in their minds, the kids decided it was best to postpone their tea party. Instead, they opted to play a board game. Of course Heidi and Kenny settled on Karen's favorite, monopoly.
Karen was setting everything up while Kenny and Heidi talked.
"You should keep your phone ready."Kenny said to Heidi.
"Why?"Heidi asked
"Because, he never makes good on his promises."Kenny responded
Heidi could tell Kenny still held a bit of resentment towards his parents for the last time she was here. Hell, probably from way before then.
Although Kenny knew that there was more than meets the eye when it came to his family, the townspeople were right in some regards. Sometimes, there were instances where the McCormick parents could be seen as neglectful. Especially when it came to making sure that their children had the proper diet.
Kenny had accepted that fact. And ever since he had, he had never been disappointed when one or both of his parents chose some kind of drug over his and his siblings nourishment.
Karen had finished setting up the game. She offered the player pieces to Kenny and Heidi. Kenny had chosen the car. Heidi went with the top hat while Karen decided the dog was her piece.
The game started out similar to the last time Kenny had played it. He had a strong start and had both of the girls on the ropes.
However, similar to his game with Karen, they quickly pushed Kenny into a corner. He was flat on his ass and broke and in jail.
Kenny decided now was the time to pull out of the game and see who the victor would be.
The game became an intense detail between Heidi and Karen. Neither one gave ground. When one bought, the other sold.
Heidi hadn't felt such intensity in a game before. She normally denominated her own household to the point that her parents didn't want to play with her anymore. But now that she could play, with a proper rival no less, she was going all in.
Heidi had finally pulled the right card and had Karen positioned in the right place. She was ready to strike. This was the turning point she needed to take the game.
Before playing the move, Heidi looked at Karen. Karen was locked in and wasn't going to give up. Her pride showed and wouldn't allow her to quit. Even if it meant losing horribly.
Heidi couldn't do that to her. Heidi would have to give up the game to Karen.
Heidi then looked to Kenny who was just casually chilling and staring right back at Heidi. He nodded.
Heidi knew that Kenny would do anything and everything for Karen. That included letting her win at anything. That meant she never got hurt.
Although Heidi cared for her as well, she wanted Karen to be strong in her own way. If that included teaching her the lesson of loss, then so be it.
Heidi wasn't backing down.
Heidi played her move to much success.
However, Heidi Turner hadn't counted on one thing. That young Karen McCormick might actually be able to turn the odds.
With one fell swoop, Karen began to turn the tables. She had pulled a card that allowed her to boost her rent and forced Heidi to pay more.
The effect of this hadn't taken Heidi out in a few turns. It was gradual.
And Heidi hadn't realized it until it was too late. Heidi guessed all the years of being at the top of her household had made her forget that she couldn't give an inch to her opponent which led to her downfall.
And with Heidi no longer having any properties left, Karen had taken the game.
"Wow Karen, you're really good at monopoly."Heidi complimented Karen.
"Thank you. However, you were quite the opponent. Unlike Kenny."Karen added
Kenny rolled his eyes.
Heidi and Karen snickered
Just then, the trio heard a door open. It was Stuart McCormick.
He had a grocery bag in one arm and a pizza box with the other. Kenny half expected the pizza box to be empty.
Stuart opened the box and took out a slice of pepperoni pizza and took out a beer from the bag.
"Here's the pizza." said as he placed the pizza on the counter.
Kenny was surprised. But he was also relieved that his thoughts were proven wrong. Guess the "more than meets the eye" merit he preached about o Heidi actually held true. Although he did feel a bit embarrassed for not sticking to his own beliefs.
"Thanks dad."Karen said
"Sure kid."Stuart responded before leaving the room.
The McCormick siblings grabbed their respective slices while Heidi had only one. Firstly, Heidi had eaten before arriving at Kenny's house. Secondly, she was vegan which meant cheese and pepperoni were a no go.
With her one slice, Heidi removed the cheese and pepperoni. Karen looked at Heidi in confusion.
"What's the matter?"Heidi asked
"Are you allergic to it or something?"Karen responded as she looked at the cheese and topping that was set aside on Heidi's plate.
"Uuuu well, I'm on a vegan diet. Which means I can't eat any animal products."Heidi said
"Ooo…"Karen responded
Heidi thought Karen's naivety towards veganism was to be expected. Not everyone was down for the vegan diet and Heidi respected that. And in the McCormicks case, any chance for food was important, no matter what it consisted of. Heidi knew that Karen probably couldn't help but question why someone removed something from a meal. Heidi just hoped that wouldn't be the case for Karen for the rest of her life.
"Would you like it?"Heidi said
Karen nodded.
With a smile, Heidi gave Karen her cheese.
Heidi looked over to Kenny who was wolfing down the pizza, totally unaware of what was going on.
"Of course.."She thought
After Kenny and Karen had filled up on pizza, Karen's decided it was time to take a nap. A full belly of food can do that to a child. If Heidi wasn't there, Kenny would have followed suit.
Karen told the pair to come and wake her so she could say goodbye to Heidi. Shortly after, Kenny and Heidi decided to just hang out and talk in Kenny's backyard. They had some chairs so they could just sit.
Kenny would have hung out in his room. But even after operation clean sweep, Kenny didn't want Heidi to spot one of his playboys and expose him for the pervert he was.
The two talked and talked and talked. From
Kenny's adventures to get explosives to Heidi's kitchen disasters, they laughed and smiled. And blushed occasionally. Both had a flirty side. Heidi was less willing to admit then Kenny.
And not one word came out about Cartman(at least not in a way that made him the topic of conversation).
The two talked until the sun had hid behind the mountain and the sky turned from blue to purple. Only a few stars were visible. But it wouldn't be soon before that many more followed suit and the moon was hanging in the sky.
"The perfect time of day with the perfect girl."Kenny thought to himself as he was trying to tell the story of towlie the towel.
"Wow..well I'm happy that towel got his life back together...I guess?"Heidi said
"Ya well, he seems like to type to have a midlife crisis."Kenny added
"But he's a towel?"Heidi said
"I know right?"Kenny followed
Heidi giggled.
Then, Heidi's phone began to vibrate in her pocket.
She took a quick peak and saw a text from her parents saying they were on their way.
Heidi's expression changed to be a little disappointed. Kenny picked up on this.
"What's up?"Kenny asked
"Sorry..my parents said they are on their way."Heidi said
"Ooh...wanna go to the front?"Kenny responded with some disappointment in his voice.
"Sure. That way I can say goodbye to Karen."Heidi said
"Okay, sweet."Kenny added
Kenny and Heidi went back inside his house and began to walk towards Karen's room. Upon entering it, they saw Karen passed out. Heidi and Kenny approached her.
"Hey Kare...Heidi is getting ready to leave. Wanna say goodbye?"Kenny said
Karen waved off Kenny.
"It's..too early."Karen said as she covered her eyes.
Kenny shrugged and was ready to leave the room when Heidi approached Karen's bed.
"I'll see you later Karen and if you to come around my house sometime, we can-
Karen quickly got up from her bed and hugged Heidi.
"I would love that Heidi. And thanks for hanging out with my brother. He kind of needs you."Karen said with sleepy eyes.
Heidi smiled and embraced Karen in the hug. Heidi looked to Kenny who had his arm folded. He was obviously jealous of Heidi's ability to coax Karen with no effort.
Karen let go of Heidi and went back to bed. Kenny still miffed of course.
Finally, Heidi and Kenny made it to the McCormick doorway and stood outside of it. Kenny leaned against the walls while Heidi stood with her hand beginning her back.
"Thanks for having me over today. It was hanging out with you and your sister."Heidi said
"Ya, no problem. It was awesome hanging out with you as well."Kenny followed up.
The pair had an awkward pause. It was weird considering they couldn't stop talking to one another. Guess neither wanted to say goodbye.
"It was nice meeting your dad. He seemed...better."Heidi said, trying to be as nice as she could.
"Well ya...like I said in the kitchen..he doesn't make good on his promises very often."Kemny said
"Well, at least he did it when he mattered. And now, I can help you."
"He doesn't always do it when it matters. And help me?"
Heidi reached out and grabbed Kennys hand.
"From now on, I'm gonna help you. Whenever someone says something about you or your family, I'll be there to defend with you. Because I can see that they are good people. Like you Kenny."Heidi said with a smile
Kenny couldn't help you but blush.
"U-uh. Thanks but that's pretty dramatic."Kenny said while rubbing the back of his head
Heidi locked eyes with Kenny and held both of his hands. Kenny couldn't help about the thought of saying fuck it and kissing her.
"Well...Kenny...if we were to keep getting closer, then I couldn't help but want to protect you...maybe we could…"
With her eyes locked with Kenny and her face slowly getting closer to hers, Heidi couldn't help about the thought of saying fuck it and kissing him.
Their faces inched closer and closer to one another. It looks like neither one is going to pull back. Neither one willing to deny what was about to happen.
"He's right ya know. That's pretty damn dramatic." said
Before anything could happen, Heidi and Kenny pulled away from each other in surprise. Both blushing immensely.
"Well...uu...You are good people.."Heidi said, trying to recover from her near kiss moment with Kenny.
Kenny was still in shock and his face was a shade of crimson red.
"My sons and daughter...maybe even my wife..but me..no...you should listen to Kenny."Stuart followed up.
Heidi began to take a stance. Any one who was associated with Kenny and was part of Kenny's upbringing was good enough for her to stand by.
Heidi was ready to make a case for Stuart McCormick when she heard someone pulling up in a truck. It was her parents.
Thomas Turner turned the window down.
"Hey Stuart."Thomas said
"Sup, still see you got that stupid truck."Stuart said
"Still see you got that shitty house" said from his truck.
Stuart flipped him off in retaliation.
"Thomas?!"Nancy Turner said to her husband.
"What?" questioned.
Heidi rolled her eyes at her father's comment. She then turned to .
"Thanks for having me over today."Heidi said
"No problem kid."Stuart said
Heidi then turns toward Kenny.
"I'll see at school, alright?"Heidi said
"Of course."Kenny responded s
Heidi then gives Kenny a hug with Kenny easily returning it.
It felt like time had stopped and it was just the two of them. Their space. Their heat. And just...them.
After a few seconds of just being locked to one another, began to honk.
"C'mon, he ain't made of glue!" shouted from his truck
"Thomas?!"Nancy said to her husband.
"What?"Thomas responded.
Heidi and Kenny both broke the hug. Kenny smiled at Heidi with her returning one to him.
With that, Heidi turned away and walked toward her car. As she entered her fathers truck, Heidi waved to Kenny. Kenny waved back with a smile.
After their daughter was secured in the truck, the Turners made their way home.
Kenny and his dad were still outside as they drove off
"Thanks for today. Really appreciated...dad."Kenny said, struggling to get the last part out.
Since Kenny didn't have the best image of his parents, he rarely referred to them as mom or dad. Only if he was upset with them or actually surprised with them did he feel that his parents earned the title of mom or dad.
"Still...I'm sorry ken."Stuart said to his son.
"I get it dad. Life happens and we get caught up in the shit."Kenny responded
"Not just that Kenny." followed up.
Kenny was confused. Was there more to their poverty and than that? Kenny had learned that his mother had screwed up the Turners but what about his father. Kenny just assumed that his father was the same as him. Just born into it. Was it something more?
Stuart took off his hat and began to walk inside.
"Dad, wait? What do you mean?"Kenny asked
His father just kept walking and left Kenny to his own devices.
"What does he mean by that?"Kenny thought to himself.
Another chapter successfully completed. After this, I'm really gonna aim for the end game of this thing. At least for the first part...yep. This thing is gonna have multiple parts. This isn't just a fic about a ship but a fic about characters that I love. And I want to do more with them and push their relationships. Regardless if that's a romantic or friendship.
