Long-time friends and neighbours, Vivian Garcia-Shapiro and Linda Flynn were sitting in the coffee shop chatting. "Today's the day you're going to…" Linda started to say when her friend nodded. "Si, today I will try to have a talk with Isa." Linda nodded. "I was hoping to have a conversation with Phineas at some point. That boy's always doing something."
The door to the coffee shop opened and 13-year-old Isabella skipped in and waved to her mother. "I'll see you later Viv." Linda said and left.
"Have a seat hija." Vivian invited. Isabella sat across from her mother and waved 'bye' to her friends' mother. "You wanted to meet up with me?" The girl asked with a smile. Her mother nodded. "Si. Linda and I have been talking. It seems that your friendship with Phineas has deepened over the years." She said and Isabella smiled and nodded. "I love him so much." She said.
Vivian nodded. "So you keep saying. Linda has noticed that Phineas is becoming more… how do I say this… distracted recently." She said and Isabella looked puzzled. With a smile, Vivian continued. "Linda and I feel that you should take it easy on the poor boy. Let him decide how your relationship is going to move forward." Isabella's eyes lit up. "You mean to say he loves me back?"
Vivian shook her head. "I don't know, I don't think Linda knows. I wouldn't be surprised if Phineas himself is unsure. You've been making your intentions clear to him for four years. Let him make the next move. You might be surprised."
Isabella looked at her hands a moment. "He doesn't understand romance. If it doesn't have a manual, he doesn't get it." Vivian placed her hand over that of her daughter's. "Don't be so sure."
