One Hour after the Dead flooded the Streets

Takashi Komuro and Morita went out of their way and risked their lives by leaving the residence and saving a young Arisu Maresato from a large group of the dead. They safely took her to the residence, unharmed. After the gates were closed, the dead quickly followed them, but failed to get passed the gate.

Everyone inside were all awake and inside the main room. So, was a new girl named Arisu Maresato, who sat on a long cough with her hands and knees together. She was being comforted by Shizuka Marikawa.

"What the hell were you guys thinking!" Saya Takagi shouted.

"Now's not the time, Takagi-san!" Takashi replied.

"Now is totally the time! You and that other dumbass with the blonde hair," Saya pointed toward Morita. "Just went out there and carelessly put both your lives at risk-just to save a little girl you don't even know!" Saya then pointed at Arisu, who was sitting on the couch feeling sad. Not because Saya was yelling, but she lost her parents.

"And you, fatass!" Saya then stared at Kohta Hirano, who was standing on the stairs.

Kohta flinched when he met Saya Takagi's stare.

"You wasted only God-or whoever you believe in knows how many bullets in that sniper! Because you fired a loud sniper so many times, it attracted a large number of them from all across the neighborhood-and now this place is completely surrounded by them! Now we have no chance of leaving this place!"

'She's right. I was so focused on saving Arisu-chan that I didn't even consider how much attention I'd bring to myself.' Kohta thought and lowered his head.

"She's a little girl, Takagi-san." Takashi told Saya.

"You don't think I know that? You should've just left her alone where she was and later face the music." Saya said.

"She watched her own father die in front of her!" Takashi yelled.

"Who cares! We can't keep saving people, just because we feel sorry for them!"

Takashi growled in front of Saya after hearing her heartless words.

"Takagi does have a point." Saeko said, catching everyone's attention.

"Saeko-san?" Keiko muttered.

"What are you talking about?" Takashi asked Saeko.

"Don't you remember what I told you on the balcony, Komuro-kun?" Saeko said.

Flashback

Saeko Busujima had turned off the lights in Rika Minami's room after seeing dozens of the dead surrounding the residence.

"If survivors come and locate this place, they'll be sure to beg us for food and protection. Even if we do use everything to save people, we can't save everyone. This is reality and everyone out there," Saeko pointed outside the balcony. "Need to learn to survive on their own. That's exactly what they're doing."

End Flashback

"Are you telling me that we shouldn't save everyone?" Takashi asked Saeko.

Saeko shook her head no. "No. What I'm saying is that we need to be cautious of whom we decide to help save. What if we end up saving somebody we don't know and they ended up robbing us?"

"Tch!" Takashi grunted.

'I sure don't wanna think about getting robbed.' Tomomi thought.

Yuuki suddenly yawned and her eyes felt very heavy. "Well," she then stretched her arms and caught her attention. "I don't know about you guys, but I'm going to do what the Americans usually say, "Hit the Hay."

"And where do you think you're sleeping?" Saya crossed her arms and raised an eyebrow while asking Yuuki.

"Easy. The upstairs bedroom. Toodles!" Yuuki then ran upstairs.

Saya gasped, then chased after Yuuki. "Hold on! I already called the bedroom! Get back here!"

Tomomi lightly sighed and walked to a closet. "Well, I guess I'll just grab a blanket and pillow and sleep on the floor."

"Great. Now all this talk about hitting the hay and blankets is starting to make me feel sleepy." Morita sat down on the floor and palmed his left face. "I don't know if I'll last long."

"Hey, Morita-kun. Would you mind helping me cleaning up the kitchen?" Saeko asked.

Morita paused after hearing Saeko. Then his heart had begun beating faster, his green pupils grew big, his face turned pink and he cracked a huge smile on his face. "S-sure thing! Please don't start without me!" He then jumped on his feet and followed Saeko to the kitchen.

Shizuka who sat on the couch along a young Arisu decided to hold her small hand and look down at the girl. "I think it's time for all of us to get some rest, okay?" she smiled at Arisu.

Arisu gasped at first, then her eyes watered a bit in front of Shizuka. "Okay."

Shizuka then took Arisu upstairs, leaving only Takashi Komuro who seemed a bit distracted as he watched Shizuka and Arisu walk up the stairs. After they left his sight, Takashi looked down at the floor and dug his hands into his pockets. He suddenly thought about his other friends, who currently weren't with them. Daisuke Nakamura, Toshimi Nikki and most of all... Rei Miyamoto.

"Are you okay, Komuro-kun?"

"Hm?" Takashi suddenly heard a feminine voice call him. He looked to his right to see Keiko Nakamura, looking at him. "Oh, yeah. I'm fine." Takashi then took his hands out of his pockets and used them to rub the back of his head. "Thank you for asking..."

Keiko stared at Takashi for another moment. "Do you miss them, too?"

"Huh?" Takashi was thrown off by Keiko's question. "Miss them?"

"I'm talking about Onii-chan. And Toshimi-chan. And Miyamoto-san." Keiko said.

Takashi gasped when Keiko mentioned Rei Miyamoto. "How did you even..."

"I know, because I miss them, too. And also, my parents. I know it's only been a day, but I hope they're all alright." Keiko said looking a bit depressed as she thought of her family.

'Keiko-chan must really miss her family. I guess I kind of feel the same way about Rei-chan. I've been focusing on bringing her bringing-that I didn't even think about Daisuke or the other girl with them.' Takashi looked at Keiko with a bit of worry.

Keiko then felt a masculine hand on her left shoulder. She looked up to see Takashi's right arm on her left shoulder. "We're gonna find them all. Your brother, your parents and our friends."

Keiko lightly gasped, then smiled. "I believe you, Komuro-kun."

The Next Morning

It is six in the morning in Japan and the sun had completely risen. The sky was blight blue and clear, and the yellow sun hovered millions of feet over the sky.

Takashi slept on his back on the floor, and he kept muttering Rei's name in his sleep.

"Komuro-kun. Komuro-kun!"

Takashi heard his name being called as he was wakening from his slumber. He also felt part of his body being shoved... his shoulders. In the next four seconds he moaned as he had awakened. He sat up and the first thing he saw was his female friends, such as Saeko Busujima, Saya Takagi and Keiko Nakamura standing over him with their Japanese highschool uniforms on. Saya had tied her long pink hair in large twin tails. Keiko wielded her bow and Saeko wielded her wooden katana.

"You're awake." Saeko said.

"Good morning, Komuro-kun." Keiko said.

"Huh? Keiko-chan... Saeko-san... and Takagi-san... what's going on? And why are you all dressed in your outfits?" Takashi asked while blinking a few times.

"Mmph!" Saya embarrassingly blushed in front of Takashi after hearing that last question. "For your information, Komuro! We're all dressed up because we're getting ready to leave this place. Hmph!" Saya then turned away from Takashi.

"Getting ready to leave?" Takashi yawned. "Where are we going at a time like this?"

"We're going to find Onii-chan and the others, now." Saeko answered.

"What?"

"That's right. The dead have cleared the streets, this morning. Which means, we can go anywhere we want now."

After hearing that, Takashi opened his eyes and jumped on his two feet. "Wait, you're serious? The dead are actually gone? Not a single one of them in the street?"

"Mm-hmm." Saeko nodded.

"How? What happened?"

"Who knows... maybe we had gotten so quiet they probably decided to move on, or someone else must've drawn their attention." Saeko assumed.

"Where are the others?" Takashi asked.

"Marikawa-sensei and everyone else had already packed up to go. You're the only we're waiting on right now." Saeko stated.

Takashi gasped, then placed his hands on Saeko's shoulders. "Then what the hell are we waiting for? Let's go!"

"Hm," Saeko smiled.

In the next minute, Takashi saw the jeep that Rika Minami owned and noted it to be a bit small for the group they have. Shizuka was sitting at the front wheel, with Arisu sitting on the passenger side, buckled up. Saeko and Keiko just hopped in the jeep from the top. Yuuki was just standing and looking at the jeep. Kohta Hirano stood guard and held a rifle in his hands, in case the dead were to come by.

"All of us are not gonna fit in that jeep."

"Got any better ideas?" Saya asked.

"If we're all gonna go looking for Rei-chan and the others, we need to start scavenging for individual cars." Takashi said.

"That's a great idea!" Saya clapped her hands, together. "We girls can take the jeep and you boys and that Yuuki can take whatever car you find." Saya jokingly snickered.

"You still don't trust Yuuki, huh?" Takashi asked.

"Not with my life or my money." Saya shook her head no, then walked toward the jeep.

Takashi lightly sighed, then thought of something. "Hey, Takagi-san. Where's Morita and Tomomi?"

"Hm? How should I know?" Saya turned to Takashi and asked.

Suddenly, Takashi and Saya heard the sound of a beeping car, nearby. The two of them and Yuuki looked to their left to see a speeding silver car pulling up by them.

"Who the he-"

"Hey, Takashi! Look what me and Tomomi found!" Morita said as he hopped out the car.

"You found a sports car?"

"Not just any car... it's-"

Kohta quickly ran to the sports car in aww. "It's a Two Thousand and Three Nissan Skyline GT-R R34! Just like in the movie, Fast and the Furious!" Kohta's eyes sparkled and his mouth drooled in excitement.

"Yeah. What he said." Morita said as he pointed his thumb at Kohta.

Tomomi then opened the door and exited himself from the sports car. "Hi, everyone."

"It does look very cool, though." Takashi noted. "But where did you even find this?" Takashi asked while looking at Morita.

"Tomomi and I were just looking around the neighborhood for the past hour and found this awesome car in someone's open garage." Morita said.

"So, you stole it?" Saya assumed.

Morita smiled, embarrassingly and waved his hands in front of Saya. "I wouldn't call it stealing... I'd say we found it. Nobody was home, so we took it. We couldn't find the keys, I ended up hotwiring it."

"You hotwired a sports car?" Takashi asked.

"Yep. I learned just by watching a few American movies." Morita gave Takashi a thumbs up.

"Wow. I can't believe you found a sports car, Morita. Was it really the only car available?" Takashi asked.

"It was either this, or a Ninteen Ninety-Nine Japanese Mitsubushi minivan. " Tomomi said.

"A-a what?" Takashi asked.

Morita then shushed Tomomi, embarrassingly. "Tomomi, I thought we agreed to never talk about that rust bucket!"

"That is so like you, Morita." Yuuki said as she walked toward the sports car. "But I gotta admit. This is a really nice car, though."

As soon as Morita as Yuuki touch the hood of the sports car, he then imagined her wearing a black bikini and lying on her side on top of the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. He then drooled a bit as he fantasized.

"We don't have any more time to waste. We need to get going." Takashi said in a serious tone.

Morita shook his head, snapping out of his imagination as he heard Takashi.

"Right!" The others said.
