Two weeks later, January 28, 2039, Audrey and Peyton's Townhouse, Los Angeles, California
Two weeks after finding out they were expecting, Audrey and Peyton decided to tell their family that they were expecting. It has been overwhelming lately, knowing they're actually pregnant. Audrey is now 8 weeks pregnant. Peyton and Audrey had their first appointment yesterday. Everything looks great. They decided it was finally time to tell their families that they're expecting their first child. Life is already crazy enough, but at least Peyton isn't working the night shifts anymore so that makes Audrey feel better.
They decided to take photos to announce their pregnancy. They woke up at 8AM and Audrey woke up to the smell of pancakes and bacon cooking. She sat up, rubbed her eyes and slowly got out of bed and suddenly, she felt sick to her stomach again. She rushed to the bathroom and began throwing up. She sighed deeply, trying to catch her breath.
Peyton heard her in their bathroom. He rushed into their bathroom and bent behind her and began rubbing her back. "Deep breathes, baby."
Audrey nodded her head as she took a few deep breaths before speaking up. "Sorry. I just got sick..."
Peyton nodded his head. "It's fine, baby. You're pregnant. You are having morning sickness. That's normal, sweetheart."
Audrey sighed as she wiped her mouth with toilet paper. "But, it's gross...I don't want you to see me like this..."
He shook his head. "Auds, I've had blood on me. I've had threw up on me. I've had people curse at me telling me they didn't want open heart surgery. The list goes on, babe. This is no different. You're my wife, you're carrying our baby. I want to be the one holding your hair back. We're in this together."
She knew he was right. She did. Her husband was in medical school to become a heart surgeon. He has had so many other people's blood on him that this shouldn't bother him, and it doesn't. Life is about to get crazy for them with a pregnancy. "Thank you, Peyton. I really should remember that you are here for me."
He smiled at his wife. "Of course I am, baby girl. You're my wife. I'm here forever." He said, helping her up from the floor and walked with her to the kitchen.
"Are you hungry?"
Audrey nodded her head. "Of course I am. I'm feeding for two now, babe." She said, sitting at the bar. "I can't wait to tell our families today. I wonder what they'll say."
Peyton laughed. "My mom has been asking me about when she's going to be a grandmother. She's really excited to become one I guess."
Audrey chuckled. "What did you say to her?"
Peyton laughed as he placed the pancakes and bacon on two plates. "I didn't say anything. I think she's catching on about you possibly being pregnant."
Audrey laughed too. "Well, I am, so she's going to be so excited."
Peyton smiled. "Yes, she will be."
A few hours later, they decided to get the photos done to announce their pregnancy.
After the photos, they headed home in complete bliss. They announced their pregnancy on their instagram accounts. They called their parents and other family members to tell them the news that they'll be grandparents, uncles and aunts.
Audrey smiled as she was face timing her cousins and sister. "We're pregnant!"
Beth smiled brightly, giggling in excitement. "Ahhh! Yay! Congratulations girl!"
Dana laughed. "No surprise there, girl. You probably haven't used any protection on your honeymoon, am I right?"
Audrey blushed. "Uh-Yeah..."
Dani smiled. "Girl, what did you expect?"
Audrey shrugged her shoulders. "Honestly? I don't know, maybe a 1 percent of not getting pregnant..."
Dani laughed. "That's not how it works, Auds."
"I know!" Audrey said, groaning, rubbing her hands down her face.
Dani laughed. "At least you're married and you got pregnant on your honeymoon, and not before."
"That's true." Audrey says, running a hand through her hair. "I guess I'll be getting used to being pregnant."
Dani laughed softly. "Yeah."
After talking to her cousins and sister, Audrey headed into the kitchen.
"Hey baby." Peyton said, turning to face his wife. "How did Dana, Dani and Beth take the news?"
"They took it pretty good. They're excited."
Peyton smiled. "That's good." He kissed her head and cupped her cheeks. "I got to go."
Audrey sighed. "Go where?"
Peyton sighed. "I'm going to work baby."
Audrey frowned. "Awww, but I want you to stay."
Peyton sighed. "I wish I could, beautiful."
Audrey sighed. "Alright I understand."
Peyton leaned down and layed his lips on hers. "I'll be home in the morning." He rubbed her back.
Audrey kissed him passionately, she pushes her tongue into his mouth. "Okay."
Peyton smiled. "If you want anything, order whatever you want on my card, okay?"
Audrey smiled at him. "Thank you, baby."
Peyton kissed her passionately again. He layed a hand on her belly. "I love you."
Audrey smiled. "I love you too."
Peyton grabbed his jacket and put it on and opened the door. "Just relax, okay?"
Audrey shrugged her shoulders. "I'll try."
After shutting and locking the door, Audrey headed into the home office to do research on her pregnancy. After an hour, she shook her head. "Okay, I did enough of that. I don't need to freak myself out." She got up and heard the door being knocked on. She walked up to the door and looked through the doors eye hole. "Penelope! Hey. How was your trip?"
Penelope laughed. "So amazing, girl. How was your honeymoon? Tell me everything-" She paused. "Okay, not everything..."
Audrey smiled. "It was amazing. We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We had tons of fun doing the activities and going on dinner dates and everything..." She sighed happily. "It was amazing..."
Penelope laughed. "No surprise there. Peyton has told me how much time he put into it. That man loves you." She sat on the couch. "So, anything else happen?"
Audrey smiled brightly. "We're pregnant!"
Penelope smiled happily. "Oh my God! I'm so happy for you guys. Congratulations!"
Audrey smiled. "Thank you! We're eight weeks along. I kinda knew the day we got back. I forgot about my birth control shot."
Penelope laughed. "The 48 window?"
Audrey nodded. "Yeah."
Penelope laughed. "Wow that's so amazing."
Audrey took a sip of her water. "I was so stressed the fuck out the day we got back though..."
Penelope was confused. "Why?"
Audrey began to tell her everything that had happened between her and her father.
Penelope's eyes went wide. "What the fuck? Are you serious?"
Audrey sighed. "Unfortunately, yes. I'm not speaking to him right now."
Penelope shook her head. "I can't believe this!"
Audrey sighed. "And, I'm now not going to law school..."
Penelope looked at her. "So what are you gonna do now?"
Audrey sighed. "Be a mom. After the baby's born and in daycare, I'll apply for medical school."
Penelope nodded. "At least you have a plan. Not a lot of people your age does."
Audrey nodded. "Yeah, that's true."
Penelope smiled. "Is Peyton excited about the pregnancy?"
Audrey nodded her head. "Yes, he is."
Penelope smiled. "Awww! He's going to be so smitten!"
Audrey smiled. "Yeah, that's totally true."
Meanwhile with Peyton
He was at work, preparing for a surgery.
One of the nurses smiled at him. "Peyton! Hey! So, how are you doing? Ready for the surgery?"
Peyton nodded. "Yes. I am."
Nilah, one of the nurses smiled. "What's that huge grin on your face for, Peyton?"
Peyton shrugged. "I'm just happy. Can't I be happy?"
Nilah smiled. "Well, yes, you can. But I'm just curious. What's up?"
Peyton smiled. "Audrey is pregnant."
Nilah smiled. "Oh my goodness! Congratulations! I'm so happy for you guys!"
Peyton smiled. "Thank you. We're so excited. We're due in August."
Nilah smiled. "That's amazing!"
Later that night, Audrey was making dinner for herself. With Peyton working the night shift, she decided to cook mac and cheese and a hamburger, which she will regret later.
After eating, she got comfortable on the couch, cuddling with her blanket. As she was watching A Christmas Prince, her phone beeped. She reached over to pick it up. She saw Peyton had texted her.
Peyton; Hey, gorgeous.
Audrey; Hey baby. What's up?
Peyton; Just on a break. Surgery went well. I decided to check on my baby girl.
Audrey; I'm good, babe. Just had dinner and now I think I made a mistake making the hamburger...
Peyton; Why, baby girl? You okay?"
Audrey; I think I'm okay. Just feeling like shit right now.
Peyton; Sick, huh?"
Audrey; Yeah. I'll be right back..."
She put her phone down and rushed into the bathroom. "Ugh."
She threw up before getting up again. She washed her face, brushed her teeth before heading back to the living room and her phone began ringing.
She picked her phone up and answered the phone.
"Hey, baby."
Audrey smiled. "Hey babe."
Peyton looked worried. "Are you okay?"
Audrey sighed. "I'm okay. It's normal, I did some research that this happens sometimes at night."
Peyton sighed feeling bad for her. "I'm sorry, baby girl..."
Audrey sighed. "I'm okay. I hope this ends soon. I'm already tired of it and it's only 2 weeks in of us finding out..."
Peyton sighed. "Okay." He shook his head. "You need to have hope that everything will be alright."
Audrey sighed. "I know. It's just hard, you know? We don't have family here. It feels like they'll miss all of the big milestones."
Peyton nodded sighing and shaking his head even though he agreed with Audrey. "Yeah, you're definitely right about that."
Audrey breathed deeply. "Is it 3 years later yet?"
Audrey mumbled. "Awesome."
Peyton sighed. "I wish I could fast forward for you, baby girl. But I can't. I can't change medical schools because I'd have to start all over again if I did change to one closer to Boston."
Audrey sighed as she frowned. "I don't want to do that to you because of my feelings right now. It's not like we can't visit or they can't visit us."
Peyton smiled. "We will definitely visit them soon, Auds. I promise. I have some time off in a few months, okay?"
Audrey nodded. "Okay. I love you."
Peyton smiled. "I love you too, baby girl. I'll see you in the morning, okay?"
Audrey nodded. "Okay. Goodnight, Pey."
Peyton smiled. "Goodnight, Auds."
After hanging up with her husband, Audrey cleaned up before taking a shower. After taking the shower, she changed into Peyton's shirt and pajama pants. She put her hair up in a bun and climbed into the bed and fell asleep.
