Chapter Three: Hide and Go Seek

'I cant believe I almost let that Jerk get the best of me... Now i'm late and I think I may have twisted my ankle trying to get away from him...' 'He's hot though.. even you have to admit that. Now then slip on that shy girl act and get into class before your any later than you already are!' I chose to ignore my inner demon and ducking my head I slipped into the classroom trying not to be noticed.
"Mrs. Honda how good of you to join us, now if you would be so kind, please go to the office and take Mr. Sohma with you. I wont have either of you disrupting my class."
I shivered and let my voice slip into that annoying tone I let it take whenever I was here. "I'm SO sorry! I'll go strait away! I won't let it happen again!" with that I bowed a million times and allowed The Jerk to drag me out by the collar of my shirt. I managed to catch Ou and Hana's eye telling them silently that we needed to talk later, both gave a slight nod and then went back to the lecture. finally out the door and down the halway I shrugged out of The Jerk's grasp and started to go a completely opposite direction than the office, its not like I couldn't just go later in the day. Unfortunately The Jerk decided to follow.
"Why are you following me?" the agitation was thick in my voice and I didnt care if I came off as cold because I had a twisted ankle thanks to him.
"Your supposed to be taking me to the office." His voice was flat and it only served to iritate me more.
"News flash lover boy, I'm not going to the office till the end of the day." I rolled my eyes and set off at a faster pace. He stayed with me. I climbed the stairs to the roof, he stayed with me. I went to the edge of the roof and sat cross legged with my back against the fence and closed my eyes trying my meditate and it was going perfectly until he layed down and his head landed flat in my lap. My eyes flew open and narrowed while focusing on him.
"Uh, what do you think you're doing?" I hissed down at his perfecly relaxed face.
"Going to sleep." He had layed out on the ground with one leg propped up, and his hands were laced together behind his head wich had found its way onto my lap. I fought the urge to shove him off and leave.
"So why didn't you go to sleep beside me? Theres plenty of roof available." The ice had slowly disipated from my voice. I was tired.
"The roof isn't as warm or as comfy as you are though." His voice had trailed off to a whisper and he was out like a light. My heart melted and I was reminded of when I used to lay on my mothers lap when I got tired as a child. Something inside me got curious and I started to run my fingers through his hair, I was shocked by how soft it actually was and so I kept it up just enjoying the feel of how soft his hair felt. I stilled as I felt him shift, he turned onto his right side, scooted up and wrapped his right arm around my waist and the other clutched my right leg as his cheek came to rest on my upper thigh in the nook between my thight and side. He went lax and I allowed my left hand to rest on his left side and my right hand kept working on his hair. I was quickly falling asleep myself and before I knew it I too was out like a light.

Class finally let out and Ou and I made our way toward the roof. We both knew Tohru wasn't going to go to the office till the end of the day. We could also tell something had happened last night and she needed to talk. We reached the roof top door and when we opened it we were completely shocked to say the least. On the far side of the roof Tohru and Haru were both asleep.. But the shocking part was that he was asleep on the ground with her asleep wrapped up in his arms on his chest. He was turned slightly toward the fence so it was slightly hard to see her, it was almost as if he was trying to protect her from something.
"Ou, guard the door, make sure no one gets up here. we need to wake her up and get her out of here now. This isnt like her." I didn't look at Ou as I asked her to guard the door, it wasn't necessary. She nodded and was gone. I strode toward the sleeping couple and was shockingly met with a barrier. I tried to get closer but was met with an electrical shock. I tried harder and the shock got worse. Tohru rolled over and the sleeping couple were effectively spooning the day away. Haru moved and his chin rested on the top of her head, his arms wrapped around her tighter. I turned and strode away, out the door and halfway down the steps to Ou.
"Barrier?" simple question but to the point.
"Yes, we need to get the other Sohma boys up here to see if they can get through it." I crossed my arms and leaned on my trusty lead pipe.
"I'll go." With that Ou was gone, it would only be a matter of time before she and the boys got back.
. Time skip... 20 minutes... Time Skip .
Ou strode up the stairs with Kyo, Yuki, and Momiji.
"They put up minimal fight after being told it concerned both Haru and Tohru." Ou's Voice was soft but to the point.
"Very well, thanks Ou. Follow me boys, you wont believe your eyes." I led them up the stairs and through the door. Tohru had shiffted again and was slightly under Haru whilist laying her head on his muscular arm. Her arms had wrapped around his neck and while his right arm cradled both her head and his while his left hand had snaked around her waist, their legs had interlocked at some point while the boys were being fetched. The position was very intimate and lunch was only about 20 minutes away, there was no telling how many people would see this if we didnt get them woken up before hand. I heard a collection of gasps from all three boys as they're eyes adjusted to the light and allowed them to see the shocking sight.
"Impossible." Yuki's voice was breathy and almost too high pitched to be normal. Kyo had an outraged expression, and Momiji had a stupid smile plastered to his face.
"How the hell did this happen?!" Kyo finally found his voice.
"Do i look like i know?!" I shouted right back at him.
"This is supposed to be impossible ya damn yankee! He should have turned into a Cow by now!" I grew frustrated.
"You think I dont know that?!" I yelled right back at him. It wasn't common knowledge that Ou, Tohru and I knew the Sohma secret but that didnt mean that they knew our secret. I growled and seriously had to fight the urge to smack the living daylights out of the dumb ass.
"How long have they been like this?" Yuki had become shockingly calm.
"I'm not sure but i'd have to guess not long after they were told to leave first block." I sighed and ran a hand through my hair.
"That Long? Remarkable." He started to walk toward the sleeping pair.
"I wouldnt if I were you. I tried it earlier and was met with a powerful shock." His expression was priceless, but he continued on and then stopped and simply touched the air in front of him which rippled and showed a light red barrier. He pressed slightly and was met with a light blue electric current. He withdrew his hand and both the blue electric current and the pale red barrier disappeared. It looked like no one was getting in until the sleeping pair were ready to come out. Kyo ran up and started to pound his fist on the barrier despite the ever growing electric current.
"KYO! STOP YOUR GOING TO GET SERIOUSLY HURT!" Yuki was the one to yell, but Ou stopped him and pointed out the barely visible activity inside the barrier. The more Kyo pounded on the barrier the more it seemed to agitate Tohru... 'So She's the one casting the barrier. I wonder if she's doing it consciously or subconsiously.' I wouldn't have long to wait to find out. Tohru started to toss and turn which cause Haru to latch onto her which stilled her and an expression of pure calm overtook her features. her eyes started to flutter as Kyo started shouting at her to get up and kept pounding the barrier. I looked at my watch and was both relieved and stressed as I saw we only had about 5 more minutes before lunch.
"Kyo hurry it up we only have 5 minutes before lunch." He nodded and began with new vigor.
"DAMN IT TOHRU WAKE UP!" Her eyes flew open but they were bright red.
'Oh shit, she's not in control, this is bad, this is really bad!' I grabbed Kyo, Yuki, and Momiji and flung them toward the door.
"RUN!" and like that they were gone but I still had to deal with Tohru. Her inner Demon wolf was in full control, and it wasn't happy at all for being disrupted. She growled a fierce growl at me as she started to shift into her full wolf form. I scrambled for the only know cocktail of seditaves that could take her down. I uncapped the seringe and got ready, I only had one shot at taking her down or I was toast. Luckily I'd had to do this a few times before. She growled again and charged at me. I dodged left and she was on my tail, flipping over her I sunk the needle into the joint between her neck and shoulder and slammed the plunger down delivering the medice before yanking out the needle and recapping it before shoving it back into my pocket and had to keep dodging her for a few minutes before the drug started to work. She began to stagger and whine I held up my hands and started to approach her, by now her vision would be fading and she would be close to the black out, but I must have overestimated time because she growled and bared her fangs at me before backing up toward Haru. Haru woke up and was staring wade eyes at Tohru. I quickly held my finger up to my lips telling him to keep quiet, he nodded.
"Tohru, i'm sorry but I had no choice, please let me help you." Her reply was a stiff growl, she shook herself trying to fight the drug.
"Haru I need you to talk to her, try to get her to calm down enough to relax and sleep. Right now shes fighting a drug I had to give her, bacuse she thinks i'm going to hurt you." I didnt dare take my eyes off of Tohru she was still deadly in her wolf form. He made a wide arch around to her left to come toward me.
"Tohru, i'm okay, Hana isn't going to hurt either of us okay." Tohru whined and didn't know wether to believe him or keep fighting the drug. he walked over to her and sat downbeside her.
"Come on, lay down, let your head rest in my lap like mine rested in yours. I know your tired." His voice had dropped into a smooth, deep velvet. her ears dropped flat against her head before ler legs started to shake with the effore of trying to keep her body up right. Whining she slowly lowered herself down to the ground and taking a deep breath she allowed her head to lay in his lap. Her massive white body shook and her paws spread out. She gave him one last look as if to say 'i trust you' before her eyes rolled back and she closed her eyes losing the battle against a drug induced sleep, Which was aided by him running his hands through her fur which was quickly turning back to hair and skin. finally back in her human form I pulled off my skirt and jacket revealing my oversized t-shirt and spandex running pants that stopped at my knees. I allowed him to dress her and began to pick her up before he stopped me.
"What makes you think I'm just going to let you take her?" His voice had taken on a gruff tone.
"Because I'm the only one who care take care of her when she wakes up after this and here isnt the place to be when she wakes up. Unless you want dozens of people to die and her to be locked up, disected like a lab project and tortured for what she is. Your not allowed to tell anyone of this. She is the only one allowed to say anything about her secret." I pulled her and this time he let me.
"Fine but you three have some explaining to do later." he growled and his expression darkened.
"Trust me I know. Have Kyo, Yuki, Momiji and Shigure gathered up at Shigure's house in four days if you want to know, other wise your not allowed to say anything even to them." with that I lay Tohru over my shoulder and we were gone.
