"A First-Year caught out of bounds in the middle of the night. Never have I seen this!" said Professor McGonagall angrily.

Rose didn't know why her head of House was lying. After all, she knew that her mother and father had themselves been caught in the corridors after curfew when they had helped smuggle a dragon out of Hogwarts. And, just like her, they had been First-Years.

"Minerva?" came a male voice from behind. Rose turned around and paled. Standing in the doorway were Harry and Hermione Potter, her parents! She was in so much trouble!

"Professor Potter, Mrs. Potter." said Professor McGonagall. "I found your daughter walking outside of Gryffindor Tower in the middle of the night."

"Really?" asked Harry, looking at her daughter. Rose could see the corners of his mouth twitching. "Did it go alright?"

"Harry!" said Hermione, slapping her husband on the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?"

"Don't encourage her!" said Hermione. Rose had a hard time not to laugh. "Rose shouldn't be breaking the rules! She shouldn't have been walking in the castle in the middle of the night!"

"Hey, that's hypocritical! You know very well that we were also caught out of bounds in our first year..."

"Yes, you said that you had a dragon to Mr. Malfoy." groaned Professor McGonagall.

Rose's mother, always wanting people to know the truth, said "Actually, we really did have a dragon with us."

"What? How?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"Hagrid." said Harry.

"Of course." she sighed. "Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Your daughter's punishment. Normally, I would let you decide what punishment a student of your House would get but you understand that I can't let you take a biased decision."

"Of course, Headmistress." said Harry, clearing his throat.

"In this case, I shall go with the same punishment as your father once got..."

"No!" cried Rose. "Not fifty points!?"

"Hey! That's unfair! You only removed twenty when Draco was caught out of bounds the same night!" whined Harry.

"I did?" asked Professor McGonagall.

"Harry's right." said Hermione. "Anyway, I always believed that fifty points was too harsh."

Professor McGonagall sighed. "Then it will be twenty points from Gryffindor and a detention with Professor Potter..." she said. Rose sighed in relief. "But," she added, making her tense again. "If you are caught out of bounds again, it will be fifty points and a week of detention with Mr. Filch."

"Don't worry about that, Minerva." said Harry proudly. "Rose won't be caught out of bounds again."

"You aren't giving our daughter the cloak and the map!" warned Hermione to her husband.

"What?" said Harry, his face falling. "Why not!?"

"Not now, please." pleaded Professor McGonagall.

"Right then." said Hermione. "Back to the Tower, young lady."

"Yes, Mum." said Rose with a sigh. As she passed her father, he said "Come to my office tomorrow at 7PM for your detention." before winking at her. Rose grinned. She had a feeling that her detention would be fun. Hopefully, her father would also give her his Invisibility Cloak and the Marauder's Map...
