"What?"
"Let's take the Cup together. That way, it will stay a Hogwarts victory." said Harry Potter.
Cedric Diggory smiled and nodded. The two Triwizard Champions approached the pedestal where the Cup was sitting.
Unfortunately, a few minutes earlier, Harry had injured his leg fighting an Acromentula with Cedric and was having difficulties walking straight. When he and Cedric approached the cup, Harry's legs finally gave in and Harry collapsed, knocking the pedestal away. Not a moment later, another Acromentula appeared and began running in their direction. Cedric managed to catch Harry before he hit the ground and both looked on as the Triwizard Cup flew from its pedestal and crashed into the Acromentula. Both the Cup and Acromentula began spinning and, after a few seconds, disappeared.
"Oops." said Harry, faintly. He and Cedric looked at each other before they burst out laughing. It had been the most ridiculous ending to a year-long event they had ever heard of, much less witnessed.
Still chuckling, Cedric took his wand and sent red sparks in the sky. Less than a minute later, Professor McGonagall appeared, apparently confused as why the two remaining champions had sent a distress signal where the Cup was located.
"Mr. Potter? Mr. Diggory?" she asked. "What happened to the Triwizard Cup?"
Harry, still being held by Cedric, answered. "We originally wanted to take the Cup but I accidently knocked it out of its pedestal and it crashed into an Acromentula. Both disappeared."
"What do you mean by both disappeared?" asked the Gryffindor Head of House.
"It was a portkey, I think." said Cedric. "Why weren't we told that the Cup was a portkey?" he asked.
Professor McGonagall palled. "It wasn't supposed to be." she answered. "The Cup wasn't supposed to be a portkey. It was supposed to bring the winner back to the beginning but it wasn't a portkey, just a different type of magic."
Harry and Cedric looked at each other and shrugged. "Well," said Harry. "I guess we might have avoided whatever trap the person who entered my name in the Tournament had planned."
