He tried again and again, but the doors would not budge. They were sealed shut and with the three minutes up, it wouldn't be long before she found him at the entrance. He didn't know where to go, let alone how to get out of here. The entrance was his best bet and he lost.

Not wanting to waste any more time, Aang turned to find another exit. However, just as he turned to run, he found her hand caressing his left cheek. Out of shock he stepped back, though he quickly realized that he couldn't. Since his back was now on the doors behind him, her hand still on his cheek and her eyes looking into his own.

Her eyes half-lidded, with a gentle smile, she spoke. "Seems that I found you." Her voice was so low, causing him to shiver slightly.

"H-How did you find me?" Aang asked, his own voice was just as low, eyes still wide, heart beating. He couldn't move, she was so close to him.

She moved her hand from his cheek down to his arm, just below his cut. "My senses are stronger than a normal humans, I followed the scent of your blood to find you. Besides, I figured that this is the first place you'd come to." She explained, her smile not wavering, she was enjoying this.

Of course, he didn't think of his cut acting as a sort of beacon for her. Plus she figured it out on her own anyway. He looked down to the floor, his eyes saddened. Realizing she had won this 'game' before it even started.

He was brought out of his thoughts by her hand caressing his cheek again, bringing his face back up to look her in the eye. "Seeing that I won the game. I guess it's time for my reward." She announced, her smile intact, her hot breath brushing along his neck.

At this, Aang's heart dropped, his fear taking hold. Swiping his arm between them, pushing her hand off his cheek. He side stepped away from her, gaining some distance between them, able to get in a defensive stance. However, she stood still, facing the doors and continuing to smile, as though she allowed him to move. Which in truth, she did, Aang was aware that Mrs. Vampire outmatches him in speed and strength. She seemed smart and on top of that, could have easily used that Blood Bending ability to prevent him from moving. Shaking these thoughts away, he faced her, prepared to defend himself.

Her smile intact, she closed her eyes. "You know that you're out of options now." She stated knowingly. Aang silently gasped, his eyes widened slightly at her statement.

She turned to face him, opening her eyes, looking into his own, she continued. "You're aware of my speed, strong senses and of my ability to Blood Bend. Also since this door is closed, means that all the other openings leading outside are sealed as well. You can't move outside these walls and even if you run and hide, you know I'll be able to catch you. Knowing this, you decide to prepare yourself and take a defensive fighting position. However, we both know what would happen if we engaged in combat." She finished stating, continuing to smile.

Aang couldn't say anything. What could he say? She was right at every corner. He couldn't run or hide, since it was clear that this castle has been her home for a long time, she probably didn't need her senses to find him. She knew the castle like the back of her hand, while this was his first time being in the castle. He couldn't win against her in combat, since she far exceeded his own abilities. On top of that, he couldn't go outside back to his apartment, he was stuck in the castle. Even though he knew all of this anyway, being told about his situation, brought down his resolve.

"So what will you do?" She asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.

He stared at her, seeing her eyes questioning his own, with that smile on her face. At seeing this, he couldn't think of a way out. There was nothing he could do, she had him from the start. Lowering his stance, Aang looked down to the floor, defeated.

Silence filled the front entrance, as he continued to stare down at the floor. After everything that happened, losing his parents, his job and now he was going to lose his own life.

"Are you giving up?" He heard her ask. He was surprised at her question, but didn't look up to face her. Rather he began thinking of her question, it was bouncing around in his head.

"Are you giving up?" She asked, her face saddened and her voice sounding disappointed. She had hoped that he wouldn't give up this easily. Though, he was human after all, based on her own experiences, humans always gave up easily. She thought that maybe Aang would be different, but she did just meet him and though he was cute and didn't seem like a bad person, he was still human. Seeing him look so beaten, she guessed that he was just like any other human being. Weak resolve, cowardly, selfish, etc. She really didn't want Aang to end up being like other humans, but seeing him like this, she was starting to doubt him.

As Aang thought about her question, he kept replaying the days events, or yesterday's events, in his head. Getting fired, chased by Jet, about to be killed with no way out. Maybe it would be better if he did just give up. After all, nothing was working out for him. First losing his mother, than his father, fending for himself, trying to balance out school, his job and keeping up with his payments, only for him to lose all that because of some jerk. What was the point in continuing to live in a world that's done nothing but beat him down again and again.

As these thoughts continued, Aang flashed back to his apartment, when he was looking at the picture of his parents.

"Hey Mom, hey Dad. I miss you both and I wish I had you here with me." Aang said, a look of grief plastered on his face. "Don't worry though, I'll figure this out. So you won't have to worry about me, I promise." Aang said, building up his resolve while looking at the picture with a small smile.

This memory flashed through his mind, he saw his father and mother smiling. He remembered how loving his mother was, how she would hold him when he ran to his parents room after a nightmare, how protective and scary she would be when hearing about someone picking on him. When she died, his father was heart broken, but still pushed on and remained strong to do everything he could for him, he would smile and pat Aang on the head, saying 'I'm proud of you,' whenever Aang accomplished something. They were both strong and he knew that they wouldn't want their son to give up, they wouldn't want him to doubt himself and go down without a fight.

He smiled, remembering his parents and with that smile, came new resolve. His expression was serious now, determination in his eyes as he spoke. "No."

She blinked, confused and than silently gasped. He lifted his head, looking her in the eye with such fierce determination. She couldn't speak, her eyes had widened slightly, as she saw his gaze stare into her soul.

She continued to look in his eyes, unable to move. For the first time, she was speechless, just at the intensity of his gaze. "I won't give up." He stated, as he turned to run again, trying to find another way out of her castle. As he turned his back to her, he didn't see the smile that came to her lips.

He ran and ran, trying to come up with a plan to get out of here. 'Think Aang, there has to be some place that isn't sealed off. She's been gone for how long, years? She may have forgotten to seal a door or window. I just have to find it, before she catches me of course.' He thought to himself, trying to think of a potential escape hatch.

He ran to the end of a hallway, coming to a window, he was about to turn the corner, but he glanced outside. He saw the lake and the full moon in the sky, floating above it. As he turned to look at the view before him, he continued to think, but than he felt something, something familiar about the view. His mind flashed back to a memory, within a dream he once had.

Aang pushed through the doors, but he was no longer at the entrance of the castle, rather he was in a room, a bedroom. Looking to the left side at the back, Aang saw a balcony, overlooking the lake with a full moon in view, bringing some light in the room.

Remembering his dream, he thought of the balcony, with opened doors, leading outside! If he could find that room and get out on the balcony, he'll be able to get out of the castle. However, what were the chances of a dream, becoming reality? Than again, he did dream about entering the castle and the girl with blue eyes. It was a long shot, but he had to try, it was his only chance.

Only problem now, was that he had to find said room… in a massive castle… where a vampire was hunting him down. For a moment he hit his head on the window, wondering when he could catch a break. Regaining himself, he began to run again, down another hallway. He didn't know how much time he had until she would catch him and he didn't want to waste time and open every door in the castle. He began to focus on that memory, within the room. He seemed to be high on the upper floors, maybe the second or third. Deciding on that, he ran around the castle, finding a set of stairs leading up. Wanting to stay on the side of the castle where he could see the moon. He made it to the second floor, though he didn't feel like this was the right height. Not wanting to doubt himself at a time like this, he went straight to the third floor. His heart was racing, lungs burning and legs aching from all the running, Aang got to the third floor and dashed down a hall, seeing a window with the moon in view. This had to be the right floor, he could feel it.

He ran down the halls, turning corners. He probably didn't have much time left and he didn't know which door to open. It was like a game of chance, where you can only choose one of many options. He continued to run when he felt that familiarity again, like before. He was at a door, with a gold handle. It was bigger than the other doors around and it was a double door. This had to be it, as he reached for the handle. However, he hesitated, having another flashback of his dream.

Looking to his right Aang gasped, holding his breath he saw a queen sized bed, with dark blue covers, high-lighted by gold outlines. However, it was what was on the bed that surprised him. Staring back at him was a pair of ocean blue eyes.

Remembering that moment, with Mrs. Vampire staring back at him, he wondered: What if she was right there on the bed, waiting for him? This thought went through his mind for a moment, before deciding to take the chance. Suddenly, he froze, unable to move.

"What?" He questioned, though he already knew the answer.

"Looks like I found you." Her voice rang behind him, making his heart race, breathing heavily and shaking.

She motioned her hand so he could turn and face her. He saw that smile of hers, with her arm stretched out. She walked up to him, lowering her arm once she was close. He was wondering what she was gonna do. He couldn't move, he just stared in her eyes, waiting for her to speak. She was looking past him now, staring at the door behind him. Looking back, he saw her eyes questioning his own.

"Is this a coincidence, or have you been here before?" She asked, confusion in her voice.

He had a confused look on his face, wondering why she would ask. "N-No, this is the first t-time I came in the c-castle. W-Why do you ask?" He questioned, a bit fearful.

At this, she smiled, looking back at the double doors, behind him. "These are my chambers." She answered, as her eyes had a dreamy look to them.

Aang was surprised, though he wasn't all that shocked. Though, he did make quite the expression of tomato. He did expect a bedroom behind these doors, due to his dream. Though, hearing her answer and seeing that she didn't seem to be upset about him attempting to enter her room, plus the dreamy look she had. He wondered what she was thinking about.

"Alright, I guess it's time for my reward." She said, as Aang felt a chill go up his spine.

His thoughts went back to his fears. There was nothing he could do, she had won and he lost. He closed his eyes, waiting for her to claim her prize. However, she didn't do what he expected. Instead, she caused him to step to the side with her Blood Bending. Confused and fearful, he wondered what she was doing. His unspoken question was soon answered, as she moved to the doors and opened them.

Before she entered the room, she turned towards him, that smile still plastered on her face. "I will release you, but I want you to promise me that you won't runaway." She stated, looking in his eyes.

He stared into her eyes, contemplating what she said. He wanted to run, but he couldn't. He doubted that she would give him a third chance. In truth, he didn't think he would run anyway. There was something about her eyes, asking him to stay. His heart was pounding, but not from fear, was he nervous? Why would he be nervous at a time like this? She was going to kill him, so he should be afraid, but instead, he felt like he was being put through some test, he didn't study for.

Pushing these thoughts aside, he spoke. "Alright, I promise." At this, her smile widened. She released him of her control, allowing him to move freely.

"Come join me." She ordered gently, as she entered the room.

He reluctantly, followed her inside, seeing the room from his dreams. It was massive, with hard wood flooring, art on the walls. Surprisingly, there wasn't much dust nor did it look old, it seemed like it wasn't in use for a few day rather than years. Looking to his left, he saw the balcony, with white-blue curtains framing the doorway, a big dresser with a human sized mirror beside it, another door leading to another room, candle lights along the walls. He turned to his right, he saw small tables on both sides of the queen sized bed, with dark blue covers and highlighted golden outlines.

His eyes widened slightly at seeing her on the bed, blue eyes staring at him. She was sitting at the back of the bed, her legs outstretched to the end, leaning back as her arms kept her up. At seeing this, Aang couldn't help but admire her, she was beautiful, especially with the moonlight glow, making him wonder for a moment if she was real. Her long hair looked so soft, her eyes shined with the moons light, her tan skin seemed smooth, arms slender yet slightly built, even though he knew she was strong, she didn't look it. His heart beat picked up as his blush returned ten fold. He dared not to look any further, out of not wanting to seem like a perv and plus he was sure he was going to die if he continued, since his heart already felt like it was going to burst. Returning from his thoughts, his gaze shifted to the balcony. He thought of running to the balcony, but knew he wouldn't make it, he was done for, his eyes now had a sad look in them.

She saw him blushing as he looked at her, as though he was under a spell. She smiled at seeing him turn away, seeing that he didn't want to be disrespectful. Than she saw a sad look in his eyes, she knew what he was thinking. He wanted to run, to get to the balcony.

"Come here please." She ordered gently, getting his attention as she lifted her hand to motion her finger for him to come to the bed.

A million thoughts raced through Aang's mind, wondering what she was gonna do. Wasn't she gonna take his blood and kill him? Maybe she wanted to make him her servant? These and many other thoughts continued to plague his mind. Without realizing, he began to walk to the bed, heart racing, trying to keep calm and breath. He got to the bed, she smiled and patted on the mattress, telling him to sit. He sat on the side of the bed, facing the balcony, feet still on the floor, hands now folded tightly, he was slightly shaking. He knew she was waiting for him to turn and face her, but he couldn't, he knew she was going to kill him. He was frozen, being consumed by fear, but kept calm, still shaking. He felt like he was going to break from the pressure of facing his end.

Before anything more was done, he felt movement behind him. His body was tense, as she was on his left side. She outstretched her hand, caressing his right cheek, turning his head to face her.

"Aang, tell me: Why are you afraid?" She asked, her eyes were stern, focused, determined to find the answer, as she looked into his eyes, it was as though she were looking into his soul.

Why would she ask that? Didn't she already know the answer? Was she not aware of him being afraid for his life? She was a vampire, beings who roam the night, taking blood from people and causing death. Than again, maybe she didn't. To her, people were food, like humans see animals as food. It was natural for her to hunt and devour. Just like it was natural for humans to do the same. He looked down at the comforter before he spoke.

"I-I, Y-You… intend to kill me right? T-To take my blood, as a reward for winning? Why wouldn't I be afraid?" Aang answered, trying to keep his breathing steady, his heart thumping.

The room was silent, you could hear the wind blowing the curtains. Like no one was in the room to begin with. Suddenly, Mrs vampire was laughing, he looked up to see her hand covering her mouth, trying to stifle her laughter. She was looking away from him, eyes closed after hearing his answer. He was surprised, why would she be laughing? Before he could think of an answer, she calmed herself and returned to look into his eyes.

"Aang, I told you before, I promise not to hurt you." She said, her eyes were as gentle as her words, there was no lie in her voice.

Before he could say anything, she continued. "Also, I never said what my reward would be if I won our game." She stated with a smile, which caused Aang to replay the nights events.

It was true, she never said what would happen if she won. He assumed what would happen, since she was indeed a vampire and with what happened to Jet. So if she wasn't going to kill him, than what was her reward?

Before he could ask, her arms were wrapped around his neck, pulling him back on the bed. Showing just how strong she was, she flipped Aang over causing him to lay on his back, with her on top, laying on his chest.

Aang gasped, trying to get up. However, she was keeping him down, her smile intact, eyes now half-lidded. Her hand caressing his cheek, as her other hand was on his heart.

"Aang" She started, her voice was just above a whisper. Aang was staring into her eyes, blushing, heart racing, wondering what she intended to do.

"I've been gone a long time, I have no idea what the world outside this castle is like. I woke up alone, no friends or family to greet me. All I have is this castle and you." She explained, her eyes were filled with emotions. Sadness, confusion, even fear. Aang didn't think about what it must be like for her. When she 'died,' she must have had friends and family, but now she was alone, like him. She had her castle, all he had now was an apartment. Neither had friends, nor family. For the first time since meeting her, he didn't feel fear, he didn't see a vampire, but a young woman, thrown into a new world.

Aang became relaxed, his body slumped into the mattress, as he asked. "What's your reward?"

Her smile widened, seeing him no longer have fear in his eyes. He was calm, composed, his eyes looking into her own.

"I want to know everything about this world. I want to see what happened after so much time has passed. Most of all, I want you to be my friend." She answered, resting her head against his.

'Friend' It was something Aang had wanted to have, but he couldn't, he was so distant from everyone. After what happened in the past, he couldn't bring himself to socialize and be with other people. Now, he found someone like him. Who had no family, no friends, alone with only a home being all that she has left.

"I won't force you, I want you to decide if you'll accept me." She said, wanting him to make his own choice.

At this point, Aang knew what he wanted to do, after being alone for so long, he didn't want her to go through what he had too. To be burdened by responsibility, to fend for herself, to be alone with no one to support her. He brought his hand to rest on hers that was caressing his cheek, as they continued to look in each others eyes.

He smiled softly for the first time this night, as a question that had plagued his mind since he first saw her, came to light. "If we're gonna be friends, I'd like to know your name."

Her eyes widened slightly, as she smiled, her eyes became teary, as she replied. "My name is Katara."

"Katara" He repeated, his smile grew slightly, it was a beautiful name. "It's nice to meet you." He said truthfully, causing her to smile even more.

Though, there was still the question, that needed to be asked. "Aang, will you be my friend?" Katara questioned with hope in her eyes.

"Yes, I will." He answered, finally happy to have a friend. Katara felt relieved, she won't have to worry about being alone.

Aang felt such relief, after everything that had happened, getting fired, running from Jet, being hunted down by a vampire thinking she was going to kill him. Now he had a friend and wasn't alone anymore. Having his mind be put at ease, he felt the weight of his body, as exhaustion overwhelmed him, he didn't realize how tired he was with all the adrenaline. However before he can rest, Katara had other plans.

"Aang, since we're friends, can I ask you a favor?" She asked, hoping he will accept.

"What is it?" He replied, he was so tired, he couldn't concentrate, his mind was shutting down.

"W-Well, you see, I'm still uh, I-I'm not really satisfied." She tried to explain, stuttering as she began to blush, slightly embarrassed.

"Satisfied?" Aang questioned, confused and taken aback. Wondering what she meant, though the answer he thought of resulted in a blush of his own.

Seeing Aang blush, Katara giggled, but managed to stop herself and continue. "I'm still a little hungry, I was wondering if I could take some of your blood, to help." She finished, smiling with half-lidded eyes.

"W-What happened to promising not to hurt me?" He questioned, though rather than being fearful, he was mainly confused.

At this she giggled. "Don't worry, I promise it won't hurt." She assured, allowing Aang to relax.

"A-Alright." He said, waiting for her to give him instructions.

She motioned for him to sit up, as he did, she was now straddling his waist. Wrapping an arm over his right shoulder, she told him to move his head to the side, caressing his left cheek. Once he did as he was told, she leaned in, lightly brushing her lips against his neck and giving it a soft peck. She opened her mouth, revealing her fangs and sinking them into his flesh, causing him to groan. However, he didn't feel any pain, it actually felt good, soothing, like a massage. He unconsciously, wrapped his arms around her waist, holding her in place. She continued to drink, after a few moments though, his body began to feel heavy, he couldn't raise his arms, he was so tired and having her drink his blood was causing him to lose whatever strength he had left.

After a few more moments, she pulled away, finally she was able to drink, his blood was amazing, even better than the small droplets she had before. She sighed happily, continuing to hold him up. She saw that he was nearly asleep, his arms were laying at his sides, his eyes just barely open, unfocused and shallow breathing. She could feel his heart beat was strong and steady. She laid him down on the bed, as she lay right beside him, her hand resting on his chest, feeling his heart beat.

"Your blood was amazing, thank you Aang." She said gratefully, happy that she finally got to taste his blood for all it was worth.

Aang smiled, glad she didn't take all of it and that she was happy. However, he realized that he was to tired to move, with losing a lot of blood, he didn't have the strength to get up. "Your welcome, though I can't seem to move." He explained, as he struggled to get up, but couldn't.

Katara stopped him by pushing her hand down on his chest. "Don't worry, I know you're tired and I took a lot of blood out of you. Besides, I wanted you to stay the night anyway." She told him, her voice low, smiling.

"Are you sure?" He asked, not wanting to take advantage of her hospitality.

"Of course, go to sleep, I'll be here in the morning." She said, as she brought the covers over him. She got out of bed and went to the door.

"W-Where are you going?" He asked, sleep starting to claim him.

She looked over her shoulder, looking back at him, her smile intact. "I have some things to care of, don't worry. I'll be back soon, good night Aang." She answered, walking out of the room.

"Good night Katara." He whispered, as he fell into a deep sleep.
