Suzy aged 8 & Candace aged 20

20-year-old Candace was sitting in the coffee shop with her soon to be sister-in-law Suzy.
The little girl sat at the table with her drink and treat. "Candace?" She asked the young woman. Candace smiled back. "Yes?" Suzy blushed. "Can I ask you something?" With a smile Candace nodded. She had hoped that one day Jeremy's little sister would see her not as someone who was trying to take Jeremy away, but as someone in whom she could confide.
Suzy looked from her treat to Candace and back again. "Do you think I'm too young to have a crush on someone?" Candace studied the girl for a moment. "Not at all. Though I should warn you, your feelings might not be reciprocated for a few years yet."
Suzy shrugged her shoulders. "Oh, he might. He's a couple of years older than me." Candace smiled and took a sip of her hot coffee. "Are you going to tell me who the lucky boy is?" She inquired. Suzy looked at her and once Candace had taken another sip of her beverage. "Your brother Phineas." She said and smiled sweetly.
Candace grabbed a few serviettes and held them to her face as tears streamed from her eyes and hot coffee leaked out of her nose.
