Adrien plopped onto his bed. "Plagg, what did I just do?" The kwami moved in small circles.
"I don't know. How about kiss Marinette Dupin-Chang who you have called just a friend since you've known her?" Plagg said, his eyes darting around the room. "Now, I've told you. Where's the cheese?"
"Plagg, in the cabinet," Adrien said half-heartedly. Then, Adrien bolted to an upright position. "I'm in love with Marinette! But… Is she in love with me?"
"Technically, you aren't in love with Marinette, Cat Noir is in love with Marinette," Plagg corrected. "So, if she was in love with Cat Noir, it would have nothing to do with you."
"Wow, that helped a lot, Plagg. Thanks so much," Adrien said sarcastically. But, the kwami was right. Marinette had no clue that he was Cat Noir, and she even told him that she was madly in love with Adrien, but no longer so.
"I like to help," Plagg said taking a big bite of cheese. "But, I'd like to say one thing. You got yourself into quite a cat-astrophe."
"Don't patronize me. I hate how right you are, though," Adrien said, falling back into a laying position. "At least I know Marinette can see me as the real me. I'm not me as Adrien Agrest. I have to be the perfect boy, but as Cat Noir… I am me. I am in love with Marinette as Cat Noir, but I don't know how she feels."
The next day…
"I'm staring at him again… Why can't I stop? Ahhh! He looked at me!" Marinette thought. Adrien just looked at her with a gleam in his eyes she had never seen before. She didn't pay attention, though. She was trying to cope. "Which blonde holds my heart stronger? Adrien or Cat Noir…" Suddenly, an akuma alarm went off. Everyone in class pushed themselves up and exited the classroom. Madame Bustier looked at Marinette.
"You're the last one left, do you need help?"
"No, I'll be fine. But, you should make sure Alya is okay," Marinette said messing with her backpack.
"You're right, see you soon, Marinette," Madame Bustier said sprinting out the door to find Alya.
Tikki, Marinette's kwami, said, "Ready?"
"Ready!" Marinette said. "Tiki, SPOTS ON!" A jolt of excitement flew through Marinette. She ran out the room towards the center of Paris. After fixing the akuma, Marinette went towards her balcony and detransformed. She took a deep breath in. Suddenly, she heard Cat Noir's voice.
"Hey, Princess."
"Cat!" Marinette said, jumping. "You startled me! You must be tired, you just fought an akuma!"
"Just wanted to ask you a question," Cat Noir said getting closer to Marinette.
"Yes?" Marinette said, her eyes widening.
Cat Noir made his final move by saying, "I'm in love with you, but I need to know, are you in love with me?" Their lips grazed each other's.
"Yes, Cat, yes…" A beeping noise came from Cat Noir's ring.
"I have to go. I'll see you tonight," Cat Noir whispered.
"Tonight, then," Marinette agreed. And with that, Cat Noir left his princess.
