I carefully creaked the front door open to our house and I peered through the crack while my breath created mist in the cold night. All the lights were off and I opened it the rest of the way and I stepped in. it was dead silent as all I could hear was the cracks of my foot joints in the house. I looked back outside the front door and to my neighbor's house. The Loud House lights were still on and several shadows of people were standing and sitting at a table in the dining room. I looked back upstairs and I saw no lights on. I walked up the stairs and I peered in through the cracks of the rooms.

"Empty," I said

There was no living soul in this house other than myself. I opened the door to my room and it was pitch black. I stepped into the room and I heard the wood planks creak underneath me. I flipped on my lamp as a small light filled the room. But what I was not expecting was a face to greet me. I jumped back as I raised my fists up. It was a huge man, about 7,1. But there was something… off. He wore a green helmet with a yellow visor and holding a blue double-bladed sword. I extended my fist and I struck it and the blow knocked him over in one swoop. I was shocked at how easy it was and how the feel was so… cardboardy. I then looked down to see what it really was. It was the life-sized cardboard of Master Chief that was laying on the floor. I grew a look of confusion as I backed up. Soon I felt my shin hut a square object. I turned back to see a box wrapped in wrapping paper. By no means was this a small box, it was huge in fact. About 1 and a half feet tall. I looked at writing that was etched on the paper and it said 'From: L.L. To Emmet'.

"Huh, neat," I said

I shook my head and I realized the task I was going to do. I pushed through the cardboard cut out of my childhood hero and into my closet. I was about to strip from my hospital robe but soon something caught my eye. In the corner of my closet sat Capitan Littles. I reached for him and grabbed him. Dust started to accumulate on him and I dusted him off.

"Luan…" I apologized "I'm so sorry."

I placed him on my desk next to my bed and grabbed my attire of US Army shirt and Camo jeans. I slipped into my clothes as I threw the robe in the trash and I finally put on my PT shoes. I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled at myself. I looked down at my sink and saw my phone charging at the power station. I pulled it off the cord and a shock ran through my body.

"Shit it's 9:29" I silently panicked "I gotta go."

I slipped the phone into my pocket and dashed out of the house as each creak filled the empty home. I looked at the Loud house and I saw that all the silhouettes we holding hands and I faintly heard them saying a prayer. I ran to the front yard and I ducked under the window. I slowly crouched walked to the front door and I was less than 9 feet away from my goal but soon a crack filled my ears. I looked down and saw that I stepped on a twig. I stopped and I waited to see if they heard. They kept on saying grace and I finally heard what they were saying.

"Oh lord," I heard Rita saying "We pray for the safety of our neighbor's child"

"I pray that he remembers us," Lincoln said

"I pray that he still loves us because we love him," Lola said

I was about to keep on going but soon a voice rang out that I remembered all too well. I turned to face the window and I slowly raised my eyes over the wall. And there they were… my family. My brother was sitting next to my sister and Lynn Jr. while Mom and Dad were sitting next to Lynn Sr. and Rita.

"Amen," My mom said

They all sat down and I saw they begin to feast on a plethora of different foods. Casseroles, Tacos, Southern Mac and Cheese, Burgers, Burritos, Chips, and several other soft drinks. My mouth watered at the food that was on the table.

"So, Lynn," My mom said, "I see that you make an amazing tuna casserole."

"Thank you," he replied "and might I say, you make amazing Burgers and Tacos."

"Oh, please" My mom replied "My husband made them, I just put it together."

"Yeah, but still," Rita said as she took a bite of a beef taco, "You are a good cook."

"She sure is," Lola said as she munched on the mac and cheese

"I'll say," Lana said as she took a huge bite out of a burrito

I watched as Lynn Jr. smothered a burger in hot sauce and began munching on it.

"I just want to thank you for letting us over," Parker said

"Oh no, it's our treat," Lori said "It really was no problem."

"Hey, Luan," Luna said, "Can you pass the BBQ Lays."

"Sure," she replied as she grasped the king-sized bag of chips and handed it to her bunkmate.

"This is really good," Rita said over the clank of silverware

She took a huge bite out of a burger and it wasn't the usual big ones. It's the type horses take bites of. I watched her began to chew it. I wanted for about 10 seconds and I saw her swallow it. But the lump that was supposed to go all the way stopped in the middle of her neck.

"Uh-oh…" I said silently

"Honey? Are you ok?" Lynn Sr. asked

She began to gag and gasp for air.

"Shit!" my dad shouted "She's choking!"

"Does anyone know how to do the hind leg maneuver!" Lynn Sr. said in a panicked voice

Looks of uneasiness spread across the room as Rita kept on grasping for air. I got up and ran up the porch. I kept my momentum and angled my shoulder at the doorknob. The door flung open and I ran into to dining room.

"Emmet?!" They all shouted in unison

I paid no mind to the confused chatter and I got behind Rita and I began to form a fist in the bottom of her rib cage. I trusted my fist upwards, I looked at Rita's face that was turning from red to blue. I knew I didn't have that much time. I thrust my fist harder and harder as I tossed her around like a toy. I kept at this until a pop was heard and a squish. I looked up from her back and saw the mush that was a burger on the floor. Rita gasped for air and her face went from blue back to her normal skin color.

"Emmet?" Rita said in between her gasps "You saved me."

"I didn't come all this way to see you die," In said "You die, when I tell you too."

Rita smiled and she said as her breathing began to slow down "Sir, yes, sir."

I soon felt several masses tackle me to the ground. I looked up and saw all the Loud siblings, my brother, sister, and my mom and dad. They all gave me kisses in the massive group hug and awws were heard in the group circle.

"You're back!" Lana said

"How'd you get here dude!?" Luna said

"I knew you'd come back like a knight in shining armor," Lola said

"I missed you so much," Leni said

"Are you ok?!" Lynn jr. said

"Of course he's fine, he saved mom," Lori said

"Lynn, I'm ok," I said "Y'all don't need to worry that much."

They finally broke the hug and my mom gave me kisses all over my face. But soon it all turned to dead silence. All the Louds faced me and gave me a shocked face.

"Did you just remember my name?" Lynn said

"Yeah, I'm not stupid," I replied "Not as much as when you thought that oxygen molecules were larger than cells."

The room went completely silent and suddenly an eruption of cheer spread throughout the house. Suddenly I felt 2 masses hug me from either side.

"You're back!" Luan cheered

"We missed you so much!" Leni added

"I missed you both to-," I said but before I could I felt them crash their lips onto my cheeks

*record scratch sound effect*

All eyes shot to me while Luan and Leni kept on kissing me on my cheeks. I creaked a sheepish smile and they finally broke the smooch fest. They looked at me and then they looked at the rest of them. They grew the same worried look as I did and then silence filled the room.

"Uhh," My dad broke the silence "Are you ok with them kissing you?"

"Well I-" I was about to say until Luan cut me off

"Yes, he is," She said

"Why?" Rita said

"Because I-" I was about to say again before Leni cut me off

"Because he's our boyfriend," Leni said with a cheer

I felt an invisible rock hit my stomach as I watched all their faces grow shocked faces. Lynn Jr.'s jaw dropped to the floor and My brother fainted onto the floor.

"Are you serious?" Lucy said

"Yes," Both sisters said

"I'm not asking you," Lucy said "I'm asking Emmet."

I swallowed the lump in my throat and I stood up while Leni and Luan followed. I looked at my mom that despite the shocked face, was eagerly awaiting my answer.

"Just because I'm gone, doesn't mean you dwell on the past like a bitch," Those words rang out in my head "You have women that want to marry you. Don't be so stubborn."

I puffed my chest out as I took a deep breath in. I exhaled and I looked them all dead in the eye.

"You know… The time I moved to Royalwoods was the most… experimental time of my life. I was in a new world where not everything is in a timely schedule… kids that don't know their place… bullies… hell, even some wacky neighbors" I said as the Louds smiled "This whole time I was looking at what I was and not what I could be, a hard, unmoving, stubborn, anti-social kid. But… you all changed that. Sure I still kick butt when I have to but that's when I have to. I never thought that people on the outside of my circle were in need. You all showed me that I'm not alone and that it's ok to be vulnerable with some people. I must thank you all for the changes you did in my life." I faced Leni and Luan as I continued "Especially you two. You showed me that love isn't just a chemical reaction that happens in your mind. It's… in me and I didn't know it was there… and I… love you for that. For showing me that there is more to life than a cycle." I faced the family again "So to answer your question… yes. I do love them."

I looked at my parents and Lynn Sr. and Rita. They all had tears in their eyes as I smiled at them. Lynn Sr. stepped forward and he put his hands on my shoulders.

"Son…" He said "Never have I ever heard a more wonderful reason why you fell in love with my daughters. But I hope you know what you're getting yourself into. They're a hand full."

"Ahh," I said "I've dealt with worse. Your daughters are in good hands with me."

"Are you sure?" Rita asked

"Yes mam" I replied

They all smiled at me and I threw up a salute to the Loud parents. They returned the salutes and suddenly I felt Leni and Luan hug me.

"Yup…" I said as I smiled "This is the life I'm living."
