Naruto made his way through the front of the Hokage's Manor heading to met his surrogate grandfather. It had been two days since the incident at the Chunin Tower, and the memory of that embarrassing moment was still fresh in the boy mind; as well dreams. The problem was all those dreams quickly turned into nightmares when Hiashi broke down the door to kill him. He hadn't seen Hinata since then and didn't know if Neji informed his uncle of the inappropriate hand placement.

Arriving at the secretary's desk Naruto was told to head on in. Inside the office the boy was greeted by a surprise; Shomei and Karin standing on either side of the Hokage. Jiraiya was also there staring coldly at an old man covered in bandages that the Jinchuriki had never met, and a Grass Village Jounin wearing the Chunin vest under a long black coat; his face was scarred up on the left side so bad the cheek was sunken in from damage. His long black hair was pulled back in a ponytail that reached his ankles.

"Karin, Shomei, what are you guys doing here?"

The older redhead smiled at her cousin and explained. "We need to clear up a few things involving Karin; mainly her citizenship to Hidden Grass, and what transpired between you and her team in the forest."

Naruto scratched the back of his head confused and asked. "Why's that important? It was the exams so everything was sanctioned. Besides, all I did was trap those clowns in a Genjutsu and made Karin send up the flare."

"Those clowns you are referring to, my students, are dead." The Jounin growled from the corner. "After you left Karen decided to wake them up anyways and, according to her, they attack with full intent to kill after learning she'd disqualified them."

Naruto looked between his bespectacled cousin and the Jounin angrily. "Well it wouldn't surprise me with the way they talked about her. They just referred to her as outside, said she was only there to heal them when hurt so they could pass and become Chunin."

A triumphant smirk crossed Shomei's lips as she addressed the Grass Shinobi. "Well Jounin Udo, Naruto's version of events seem to back up Karen's; both about the way your village treats her and why she was taking the exams."

Udo glared at Shomei but made no comment. Naruto still looked confused so asked. "What's this about citizenship."

Hiruzen took a pull from his pipe and explained. "Grass Village never officially granted Karen or her mom, Uzumaki Kaya, citizenship. According to Jounin Udo here that was just a misfortune oversight, but the village still thinks of Karen as one of their own. However, Shomei thinks they didn't grant the citizenship because they didn't want anyone to know Uzumakis were living in Grass; the suspicious death of Kaya favors her theory. She past away healing the injured of the village seemingly against her own will; Karen was made to take over right after."

"That's an exaggeration." Udo jumped in angrily. "The village had just been raided by hostile forces. Uzumaki Kaya gave her life bravely saving as many people as she could. Karen herself only healed a moderate amount that day; she's confused because of the trauma and her age at the time."

Udo gave the Third Hokage a hard look and explained. "Uzumaki Karen is a Grass Shinobi and as such shall return home with me. The Land Of Fire can send a petition to the Land Of Iron's courts to argue rights of custody. Me and my student…."

"Enough." The old man spoke with a hard look. The Grass Jounin shut up as Hiruzen continued. "Uzumaki Naruto is the direct descendant of the Royal Line. As such he is next in line for lordship when he makes Chunin or reaches the age of eighteen. Uzumaki Karen has not forsaken her name and clan, therefore recognizes the rule of her clan head. On behalf of Naruto I'm ruling his clanswoman remain in Hidden Leaf until the Samurai Courts make a formal decision."

The scarred up man looked around angrily and spat. "Fine, I'll return to my village and inform the Daimyo of what's happened. I assure you this matter isn't over."

With that the man vanished in a swirl of leaves. Everyone stood silently for a moment before the nervous Karen asked. "How much trouble will this cause Leaf?"

"Not very much really." Jiraiya assured the girl. "Iron won't take Grass's side over family and everyone knows that. Plus, the Grass Daimyo will more than likely demand answers form the hidden village as well; can't imagine they told him about you and your mom. He and the Fire Daimyo are second cousins by marriage, as well close friends. Your former village will try and raise a fuss but that's about it."

Hiruzen placed his pipe down and addressed the room. "Now that the matter of Karen staying is closed, we can discuss training."

Looking at the blonde the Hokage asked. "Naruto, may Karen and Shomei look through the Uzumaki Clan scrolls we recently obtained? It's a formality of respect that I ask you for permission."

"Um, yes, why would I care; it's their clan too."

"Like I said it's just a formality." Opening a draw by his side Hiruzen pulled out a small peace of paper. Presenting it outward to the boy he order. "Naruto, take this and channel some chakra into it. This is chakra paper and will let us know your born affinity."

Doing as asked Naruto happily took the offered paper and channeled chakra. It instantly split in two then both halves crinkled up. "What's this mean"

"It means that you have a First Affinity to Wind Release and a strong Second Affinity to Lightning Release." The Hokage explained. "The Wind Release wasn't surprising really as most Royal Uzumaki have it. In fact both you and Karen have wind as your primary affinity; she didn't show a strong second though."

Turning shocked the Jinchuriki asked. "Your also from the royal line!?"

"Yep." Karen happily beamed. Frowning she explained. "I was given a blood test by the Leaf Hospital and they confirmed we're third cousins." Grumbling to herself the redhead concluded. "To close for anything more than friendship and family."

"What was that, I didn't catch that last bit?" The blonde asked confused.

"It doesn't matter Naruto." Shomei jumped in quickly. "The fact is both you kids have Wind Release and this man here, Danzo Shimura, has agreed to teach you both his personal jutsu style; it should go well with your various Shadow Weapon Jutsu."

Turning excitedly at the prospect of elemental jutsu the boy ran up to the man excitedly. "Really, your going to do that for us old man!?"

"Naruto, be more respectful." Shomei demanded. "Lord Danzo is a powerful respected ninja and should be treated as such."

"It's alright Uzumaki-san" The walking mummy spoke addressing the oldest redhead. Turning to the boy at his feet he continued. "Yes, I will teach you all I can about wind jutsu. I don't mind as I have no children or clan to leave my personal techniques to. This way they shall still be in the hands of those that guard the Leaf after I am gone."

Naruto rocked back and forth on his feet eager to begin. The old man watched the young blonde without showing any annoyance. What he failed to explain was Shomei purchased his training by swearing loyalty to ROOT. He was sincere about leaving his jutsu to one that would protect his home, but he would rather it be someone that thought along his lines and not Sarutobi's. Truthfully he himself was against the idea of clan secret jutsu all together, if more people had access to powerful techniques than it would make the village stronger; the chances of those people stealing the jutsu and running off could be negated with a few curse seals.

Curiously the blonde Jinchuriki turned to Jiraiya and asked. "I'm sorry sir, but weren't you supposed to teach me this month?"

The Sannin quickly schooled his facial features into a pleasant mask and explained. "Oh, I still am. We're going to use your Shadow Clone Jutsu to optimize your time between sensei."

"Ok, yeah the memory thing; that's a good idea." Running up to his cousins the boy failed to notice the murderous glare Jiraiya shot Danzo. The old mummy remained emotionless as he locked eyes with the hermit and famed author; both would be doing their best to mold the legacy of Minato Namikaze in their image. Hiruzen act like he didn't notice anything at all.

…. Training Ground Three ….

Sakura dodged downward as Hinata came at her with a low powered Juken strike. Kurenai watched from the sidelines as the two Kunoichi spared. Since Naruto was training with Jiraiya and company, the raven haired Jounin decided to focus all her time on the pinkette and bluenette. Plus, this allowed her to keep the happy couple separated.

It was Kurenai herself that explained the inappropriate position she caught the heiress in to Hiashi. The man had been eerily calm as he processed the information. For the first time ever the Jounin had watched the man struggle to keep up his mask of indifference. The clan head had thanked her and asked she keep a closer eye during the next month; the excitement and confusion of the village during this festive time could lead to even more chances of groping.

As Sakura tried a leg sweep to trip Hinata, Kurenai called a halt to the spar. "That's enough girls, break it up and fall in."

Both young Kunoichi stood at attention before their sensei. Kurenai studied each one to judge their levels of exhaustion. Like she expected, Sakura was showing more signs of fatigue than Hinata; despite the pinkette better diet and training schedule her academy days still plagued her growth. However, the raven haired woman noted the taller girl managed to get her heartbeat and breathing down to normal levels before the bluenette.

'So, unlocking the Ido Illusion seems to have more of an effect than previously thought.' The Jounin pondered. 'A short breather is all Sakura need to replenish. If she and Hinata were to ever fight for real, Sakura would have to rely on hit and run tactics to wear the stronger Kunoichi out. Then again if they did fight for real Hinata would be using more brutal tactics.'

"You can relax and take a break." The older woman smiled. "We'll be having guests soon and I want you both to regain your strength."

"Who's coming?" Hinata asked curiously.

"Anko and Team Six." Kurenai explained with a smirk. "Sakura will need to learn how to fight multiple opponents at once to even stand a chance against Naruto."

The pinkette groined at the implication of her following month. It wasn't very long before the Snake Mistress showed with her students. Hibachi and Ami look around curiously but Toru remained as stock as ever. Anko was giving Sakura a knowing mischievous look in anticipation of the torture that would masquerade as training.

"What's up maggots?" The purplette Jounin barked happily. "Who's looking forward to helping Sakura-chan?"

Ami sighed in aggravation while mumbling. "If you'd let us take the exams maybe we'd be training for the finals too."

Team Six's Sensei shrugged uncaring. "Maybe, but doubtful."

"Hey, we're just as good as them!" Hibachi exclaimed outraged. "We could past the exams no problem!"

"It's that attitude right there that kept Anko Sensei from recommending us." Toru jumped in angrily. Giving both his teammates a hard scowl he berated. "The two of you treat this like a fun game, instead of life and death. You'd think you, Hibachi, would at least take Shinobi life a little more seriously after almost dying; or have you already forgotten you own Sakura-san your life?"

Both Ami and Hibachi looked down ashamed at their teammates words, neither child having a rebuttal; however, Kurenai studied the fuming Kenjutsu user closely with contempt. It was obvious the boy blamed his team for failing to qualify for the exams. The talented Toru, though, completely failed to see his own shortcomings regarding teamwork; therefore was more to blame for his team missing out on a possible promotion. 'So Anko, this is why you truly held them back. An underlining fear of losing a student aside, a fear all sensei have, their synergy is severely lacking. Not being able to rely on your teammates in the exam was a good way to end up dead.'

Anko looked between the Genin and clapped her hands happily to break the tension. "Let's start with one on one spars!"

The five Genin looked at the purplette curiously when Hinata jumped in with malicious glee. "May Hibachi and I go first?"

Kurenai gave the heiress a questioning look before remembering the Land Of Bears Mission, more precisely Hibachi's rude behavior. Exchanging smirks with Anko the Snake Mistress agreed. "Good a match as any. Light Taijutsu attacks only maggots."

Everyone moved to the side as Hibachi squared off against the Hyuga Princess. The boy looked at Hinata leeringly and asked. "Why you want to spar with me, Princess? Want to see what a real Shinobi can do, or are you looking to trade up from that stupid clown you're currently dating?"

Hinata's only response was a cold glare, which made Anko almost sorry to signal begin. Just as anyone watching could predict the one sided fight was fast and brutal. It was the fact the indigo haired girl was using minimal amounts of chakra in her Juken that saved future generations of Adachi Clansmen, otherwise the blow that accidentally landed to far south would have down far more than end Hibachi's Shinobi career. The brunette laid curled on the ground while holding his family jewels in a silent scream. The normally shy Kunoichi stood next to him with a mask of indifference, her arms folded over her chest in the best Neji impression she ever achieved.

Kurenai walked up to inspect the Genin that was withering in the dirt. Shooting the Hyuga Heiress a disappointed frown that had little effect, the Jounin asked her remaining student. "Sakura, do you know of any medical jutsu that might help Hibachi?"

The pinkette looked between the boy and her sensei uncertain. "Yeah, … but I'd have to apply my Mystical Palms Jutsu directly to the injured area."

Anko gave a snorting laugh. "I doubt he'll get any thrills from this." In a babying voice the Jounin mock pleaded. "Can you please help my annoying gaki of a student, Sakura-chan."

The pinkette groined, sent Hinata a scathing look, and bent down to help the suffering boy. Afterwards she stood back up like nothing happened and walked towards the battle area. Ami decided to follow as well while everyone else stood to the side, Hibachi refusing to even look at the Hyuga Kunoichi; which was what Hinata wanted in the first place.

Ami studied Sakura closely. Unlike Hibachi she wasn't dumb enough to underestimate Team Eight. The bright haired purplette also knew the formerly shy pinkette managed to defeat Ino, who was arguably second best at Taijutsu amongst the Kunoichi when they graduated the academy. Her sensei signaled to begin and both girls charged forth.

As Ami figured the fight was pretty much in Sakura's favor. The taller girl couldn't keep up with slightly shorter Kunoichi's agility and speed. Coming in with a feint Ami tried to make Sakura duck a wild haymaker, the objective was to knee the pinkette in the face. Instead the green eyed girl rolled tightly to the right and crouch down low, brutally kicking out Ami's support leg. The purplette tried recovering with a back flip, but Sakura managed to spring up and deliver a powerful left palm strike to her upside-down abdomen. The wind whooshed out of the beaten Kunoichi's lungs as she crash backwards into the ground.

Kurenai turn to Anko with a questioning look. The Snake Mistress shrugged and mouthed. 'They do better when allowed to use jutsu; Taijutsu is just not their forte."

Toru made no comment about his teammates miserable showing. Instead he turned to the lavender eyed Kunoichi next to him and asked. "Will you spar with me Lady Hinata?"

"That won't be necessary." Kurenai spoke quickly. "You guys were asked to help train Sakura in fighting numerous opponents. I think it's time we got to it."

"Numerous opponents?" The Kenjutsu user asked confused. "I wasn't aware the final exam would be a free for all brawl."

Anko gave the boy a deadpanned look and elaborated. "Though the great blonde gaki, affectionately known as Naru-kun by Hinata-chan, doesn't advertise it very much, one of his techniques is a move called the Shadow Clone Jutsu; he makes solid copies of himself that can fight and use his other jutsu."

"If that's true why didn't he utilize it against all those brain dead samurai in Bears?" Hibachi asked annoyed.

Refraining from smacking the boy, the Jounin Sensei explained. "Not enough room for one thing, the clones would have over crowded the place making it harder to fight. Had the battle taken place outside the jutsu would have been more favorable. Secondly, Naruto realized his Genjutsu skill was adequate enough early on so stuck with that."

"So the need for Sakura to learn how to deal with multiple enemies?" Toru asked unsure.

At that time Sakura walked up supporting Ami and overheard the question. "I'm well rounded in Genjutsu, just like Naruto. I also knows his tricks and tactics well. So, when those fail, that's if he even bothers trying them, the knucklehead will fall back on Ninjutsu and Taijutsu. There's no getting around the fact Naruto is stronger than me in every aspect but chakra control, overall book-smart intelligence, and medical jutsu; my only chance of victory is to fight off multiple numbers and catch him in a cleaver trap."

"So, all of us are going to attack you at the same time and you're going to try defending?" Hibachi clarified. At the green eyed girls sad nod he grinned sadistically, the smirk showing Anko was beginning to have an unhealthy influence on the boy. "Oh, this will be fun."

…. Undisclosed Underground Location ….

Jiraiya looked around the massive dark room dismally. This would be his home for the next month and he wasn't looking forward to it. Danzo wanted absolute secrecy for the training and used the excuse he was giving Naruto his own self made special techniques. The hermit had no counter to this so reluctantly relented. He, his godson, and the bastard mummy, were standing in the middle of the area while Shomei and Karen stood off to the side reading Uzumaki Scrolls.

"I suppose we should discuss individual training plans." Danzo stated matter of factly. "I was planning to begin Wind Release change as soon as possible. I also have another pupil, Yamanaka Fu, that is experienced in Lighting Release. He would be ideal to help young Naruto master the Lightning Release."

Jiraiya watched as Naruto's blue eyes lit up excitedly. 'Two points to you Danzo.' He thought bitterly.

Clearing his throat the hermit got the Genin's attention and explained jovially. "Ha, I plan to teach you one of the strongest arts imaginable!"

With an exaggerated flourished head motion that caused his white ponytail to follow behind in a circular motion, Jiraiya bit his left thumb, smeared blood on his right palm, made a series of lightning fast hand signs, and slammed his hand on the ground. A giant puff of smoke formed and quickly disappeared revealing a large orange toad with blue markings all over its body; a large beaded necklace with the kanji for 'loyalty' in the middle. The old hermit sat on the amphibian's head and jovially cried. "Toad Summoning Jutsu!"

Naruto gave the stupid hermit a disbelieving look. "Lame."

"What!?" Jiraiya cried outraged. "This is the most powerful art in the world brat! I, Jiraiya, The Legendary Toad Mountain Sage, deem it so! Do you know how many enemies I beat with this jutsu? Do you know how many young ladies I've ….., forget that last part; anyway your learning it!"

"I didn't mean the Toad Summoning Jutsu is lame, just you Pervy-Sage." Naruto clarified.

"Hey brat, that's not a nice way to speak to your elders!" Jiraiya cried outraged. "And what's with that 'Pervy-Sage' crack?"

Cold blue eyes burned into the old man's as the boy explained. "I remember what you said about Hinata's mom yesterday at the hospital. Also, Anko Sensei gave me one of your books so I'd know what to expect. I read the first three chapters of Make Out Paradise and realized it was just dolled up smut."

"Hey, those are fine works of literature you little…." Jiraiya failed to finish his insult as he jumped down and grabbed the boy in a head lock.

Danzo watched the interaction without comment until he had enough. "I think it would be best to start as we have much ground to cover and only a month to do so. As you will teach the boy summoning Jiraiya, I'll deal with Shadow Clones."

The Toad Sage broke his hold as a pouting Naruto created several Shadow Clones. Karen watched this happen and figured it was time for Wind Release training. Saying goodbye to Shomei she ran to follow the large group of blondes as the real Naruto walked off with Jiraiya.

"Hey Narutos, which one of you is the real one by the way?" Karen greeted as she reached the group.

"Oh, he's off with Pervy-Sage." The closest clone explained with a shrug. "It's ok though, our memories return to Naruto when we dispel; so it like conversing with him."

"Ok." The young redhead spoke happily. Looking to Danzo as they came to a stop she gave him her undivided attention.

The old warhawk gave them blank looks as he explained. "The first step to harnessing the chakra change for Wind Release is cutting a leaf into two halves."

After explaining this the bandaged man pulling a leaf from inside his grey kimono and cut it with minimal effort. After this he produced a sack full of leaves for the children to begin with. After everyone gathered a leaf Danzo instructed. "Try envisioning your chakra coming together and creating an impossibly sharp edge. Then run it along the middle of the leaf."

The large group of Shadow Clones moved off to be by themselves while leaving one behind to keep Karen company. The girl looked at the clones confused and asked. "I don't understand what the deal is with your training Naruto; or, um, Clone. How will this benefit the real Naruto?"

"Like I explained already, when we disappear all are memories and knowledge go back to the original. Think of it like this; we have fifty clones training, so the original will gain 'fifty' minutes of training for every 'one' that passes. At the end of this month Naruto will have trained for fifty months; or four years and two months ruffly. That's just with Wind Release. Naruto plans on doing the same for Lightning Release when Danzo finds him an instructor."

"That's amazing!" Karen exclaimed. "You could learn years and years of techniques in weeks! I wish I could…."

The blonde clone watched as his creator's redheaded cousin take on a blank look. Coming out of her thoughts she explained exuberantly. "Naruto, l'm just going to call you Naruto as it's less confusing, do you remember back in the Forest Of Death, when you asked me 'what would happen if I bit someone'? That's how I killed my former teammates. When they attacked me I managed to bite them and drain away all their chakra. Just now in my clan scroll I read how it was possible for someone that possessed the Life Leech to eat other peoples ninjutsu; I can swallow the chakra, utilizing a special Wind Jutsu, and add it to my reserves. My body has a large storage area for chakra but only produces a small amount naturally so I have room to eat my enemies chakra; which is my main attack ability. Obviously, as I just got the scroll, and I've yet to master Wind Release, I can't use Wind Style: Devouring Vortex; but I think I can eat a Shadow Clone like a normal person. If I ate a few of you guys I should have more than enough chakra to create my own Shadow Clones and increase my rate of training. Can we try it, please?"

Looking to Danzo the blonde asked. "Would that be ok sir? I know the Shadow Clone is a forbidden technique. Would it be ok to teach it to Karen?"

The leader of ROOT thought it over. Truthfully this scenario was beyond perfect. With Naruto's natural chakra, as well his Jinchuriki status, Karen could devour his energy to train longer and harder than what was currently possible. Both children could increase their individual skills exponentially quicker with this method. Then there remained another issue, the young girl herself joining ROOT. The ANBU that investigated the girl's claims of self-defense easily determine both Grass Genin had been unconscious at the time of their deaths; meaning she murdered them in cold blood. This didn't mean the girl had no sense of loyalty to comrades, only that she viewed Grass Shinobi in general as enemies; honestly, who could blame her. Danzo fully planned on exploiting the young Uzumaki's darkness for Hidden Leaf's benefit.

"I believe this is worth trying. If Karen can indeed devour your chakra safely Naruto, I'll allow you to demonstrate Shadow Clone Jutsu."

The clone held out his hand and rolled up its sleeve. Karen bit down hard and instantly felt the overwhelming power of the blonde flood her system. After several seconds that actually stretched longer than both her dead teammates combined, the clone vanished in a puff of smoke. The redhead stood trembling as her body adjusted to the new levels of power. Another blonde clone walked up and showed her the Shadow Clone Jutsu, it took three tries but she eventually created thirty replicas.

Meanwhile, Jiraiya had Naruto sign the summoning contract in blood. He was going through the hand signs to memorize them, when he stopped to look back at Danzo. The Sannin followed his gaze and watched as Karen created thirty replicas. He was curious how she pulled off the feat but wanted his student to focus.

"Naruto, we can discuss what happened over there later, but right now I want you to try summoning a toad. Gather your chakra and attempt the jutsu."

The boy focused back on his sensei and did as asked. Doing as Kurenai always instructed, Naruto began taking deep breaths felling out his chakra. Gathering a generous amount, after all summoning something from somewhere else had to take a lot of energy, the blonde ran through the hand signs and cut his palm. Slamming his hand down he cried. "Summoning Jutsu!"

A large puff of smoke appeared and Jiraiya was met by an amusing sight. Gamariki, a light green flamboyant male toad that looked more like a frog, was glancing around curiously. The amphibian, dressed in a large violet bow, wearing thick lipstick, pink blush, and heavy eyeliner, gave the sage a cock eyebrow-like look and asked in a feminine voice. "Why you summon me to such a dreary place Jiraiya-chan?"

"Hey, he didn't summon you, ah … ma'am .., I did!" Naruto insisted somewhat outraged and confused.

The toad gave the blonde a once over and asked. "Who be you, blue eyed cutie?"

Jiraiya sighed at the toad's normal antics and made introductions. "Gamariki, this is the newest toad summoner Uzumaki Naruto. Gaki, this is the Toad Master of Genjutsu; Gamariki Of The Flying Kiss Of Death."

"The Flying Kiss Of Death?" Naruto asked bewildered. Looking down at the flamboyant Gamariki he demanded. "What's that?"

"This." The toad explained as he winked seductively. Making a kissing motion the amphibian sent out a mass of lipstick in the form of his lips to land with on Naruto's arm. The blonde looked at it confused as the world around him became disoriented, everything appeared to melt. Focusing his chakra the boy fought through the low level Command with pure willpower; righting his perception.

"Oh, impressive Naru-chan!" Gamariki exclaimed with a happy clap. "You're a natural with Genjutsu!"

"Yes he is." Jiraiya clarified thoughtfully. "Which explains why you were the toad he summoned with adequate chakra and focus; his chakra would resonates with you easiest."

Naruto was zoned out as he studied the Mark on his arm. Analyzing the lipstick he realized it was similar to Hinata's chakra compound, only much thicker with a greater level of chakra charge. Realizing this could be to his hime's benefit he asked. "Hey Gamarikia-san, exactly how do you do this? My girlfriend, Hinata Hyuga, does something like it with Water Release and a thinner chakra compound she invented; but yours hold more chakra for a greater and longer effect."

The dolled up toad studied the boy curiously. He was deeply impressed the young man figured out the technique so easily. Of course interactions with his girlfriend would have helped in that regard. Thinking over what the boy explained about this Hinata person's abilities, it wasn't to hard for Gamariki to realize the differences. In a more serious masculine voice the amphibian explained. "Your girlfriend probably made a water-based compound, that's why it's thinner and can be easily carried by Water Release; down side is weaker chakra charge like you observed. My lipstick is made from a special oil found on Mount Myoboku, were the toads all live, that makes it thicker; unfortunately oil and water don't mix well. I use Water Release to peel a layer away from my lips then Wind Release to blow it at a target."

Naruto had an image of a thick lipped Hinata blowing kisses at random Shinobi; it brought a smile to his face. Giving Gamariki his most award winning smile the boy asked. "Would you mind if I explained your ability to my Hina-hime, see if she can make something of it?"

"I don't mind at all, Naru-chan." The toad assured his summoner while returning to his usual embellished feminine voice. "I look forward to seeing if she can kiss as good as me."

Shaking his head Jiraiya ordered. "That's enough you two, we need to continue. My plan is to help you, Naruto, learn as much as possible about summoning combat. That means battle strategy, Taijutsu combos, and collaboration jutsu; combining your chakra with a toads to create stronger jutsu. Danzo's Wind Release training will be a major boon to that, as well the Lighting Release training you'll receive later."

The boy gave the Sannin his full attention and saluted. "Sir, yes sir!" A mischievous look came to Naruto's face as he asked. "Hey Percy-Sage, do you know the Swim Through Earth Technique?"

"No, that technique requires a natural affinity to Earth Release; or some fancy Fuinjutsu. I do know the Mole-Rat Technique, which is a basic C-Rake Jutsu." The old man explained thoughtfully. "Why do you ask? Don't you have enough on your plate this month with summoning and two elemental chakra changes?"

"Well, yes, I suppose." Naruto agreed. "But I want to go see Hina-hime sometime this month. I was thinking I could send a Shadow Clone every now and again."

'Hell yes, point to me Danzo, huge freaking point to me; take that you mummy bastard!' Jiraiya thought giddily in his head. Out loud he explained. "I know a toad that could swallow one of your clones and carry it to the surface using earth jutsu."

"Really, Who!?" The boy quickly fired back.

"Let's just keep working with the summoning jutsu and see if you can summon him on your own." The Sannin explained happily. "If not I'll call him up myself."

"Right!" The young Jinchuriki cried as he once more began focusing his chakra. Calming down he did as Kurenai always instructed and felt for his natural flowing energy. Doing his best to rein it in the boy molded a good amount to his hands. Biting his thumb and running through hand signs he called. "Summoning Jutsu!"

…. Training Ground Three ….

Sakura stood in the middle of Training Ground Three playing a haunting melody with her violin. Team Six and Hinata stood around her fighting off the low level Rolling World View. The Hyuga and Kenjutsu user were having an easier time than either Hibachi or Ami; Hinata's ability to focus through mentally and Toru using a sword jutsu. The long haired Genin held his sword out in front and pulsed small amounts of chakra through the blade. This allowed him to shock his brain into focus while sensing out enemies.

The pinkette studied the boy closely as she was curious about his technique. One of Sakura's main issues with Musical Genjutsu was her inability to make Commands stick once the music stopped; which was the main objective so you freed your hands for fighting. The young Kunoichi was wondering if she could somehow combine her talents with Toru's to overcome this flaw.

"Alright, that's enough Sakura." Kurenai commanded disappointedly. The Jounin was hoping everyone present could fight off her low level Command, so as to simulate a better Naruto battle situation, but Ami and Hibachi were hopeless. Turning to Anko she questioned this oversight with a simple look. The Snake Mistress sighed silently and nodded her head towards her long haired student. Kurenai understood what Anko was saying after glancing the boy and his teammates over. The dark purplette wanted her students to learn from each other so as to build teamwork; only the raven haired boy was to stubborn to offer help and the weaker two were to proud to ask.

Glancing her own students over the raven haired Jounin noticed Sakura's curiosity. Deciding to take a gamble the woman explained. "Ok everyone, we're going to take a lunch break. Me and Anko need to have a private talk so you kids fend for yourselves."

The Genin watched uncertain as both women teleported away in a swirl of leaves. Sakura shrugged and ran up to Team Six's Kenjutsu User. "Hey Toru, I have a favor to ask. Would you kindly show me that pulsing sword technique you do?"

The boy gave the pinkette a shrug and explained. "I don't mind. It's an old Samurai Technique past down from my great-grandfather."

"Your great-grandfather was a Samurai?" Hibachi asked shocked. "How come you never told us!?"

"You never asked." The long haired boy stated blandly. "He served the Fire Daimyo's Clan during the time of the Waring States Period. After Hidden Leaf was formed and the era began to fade into shadows, he moved to the village after receiving a crippling injury; I never knew why he chose a Shinobi Village actually. Anyway, he met great-grandma and that's how my clan was started. He only had two daughters, one my grandmother, so never allowed them to train to be Samurai or Shinobi. When my father was a child he joined the Shinobi Academy against my great-grandfather's wishes; old stubborn warrior wanted him to join the Fire Nation's Army instead. Even offered to pay to send him off to Iron for a formal Samurai education, but my dad and grandmother proved just as stubborn. Great-grandpa relented in the end and showed him all he knew about Kenjutsu, which my dad now passes on to me."

Sakura was thoughtful as she asked. "This wouldn't count as a clan secret or something would it? I'm guessing the Genjutsu you use are based on the ability?"

"It's an old Samurai trick, The Sharpened Blade Pulse, that any Kenjutsu user could learn on their own easily enough." Toru explained. "You're correct that most of the Genjutsu my dad invented evolved from the pulse, and those I won't show you for obvious reasons."

Giving a slight shrug the raven haired boy guessed. "I'm assuming you're hope is my technique will allow you to drive your Musical Commands deeper into an enemy's mind?"

Ami looked between her teammate and Sakura angrily. Fixing a glare at the sword users she asked outraged. "Hey, why didn't you ever offer me and Hibachi a chance to learn your technique?"

"Once again, you never asked." Toru explained blandly. "And, just so you know, I'll teach anyone that wants to learn. The Sharpened Blade Pulse works with any sharp weapon; my katana, the axe blades fixed onto Sakura's violin, a kunai. The principal is similar to pulsing your chakra outward from your own body, but the metal blade your holding gives you something easier to focus on; apposed to your much broader person that is."

"Whatever." Hibachi groined board. "Let's eat a quick lunch and then get started already."

…. One Hour Later ….

Anko and Kurenai returned to the clearing later to see the kids all in a circle holding kunai. Eyes closed and faces full of concentration, they continuously molded small amounts of chakra into the weapons and pulsed outward. The more erratic Genin was Hibachi, though Ami wasn't much better. Hinata and Sakura's pulsed were strong and clear, though the pinkette was faster than the Hyuga. Toru held a kunai bored as he pulsed out small rapid small amount of smooth chakra; giving the others a good example.

"Finally." The Snake Mistress smirked. "'Bout time those little gaki started thinking for themselves. Looks like you guessed correctly, Sakura's curiosity got the ball rolling."

Observing the Genin the purplette asked. "Hey Kurenai, what would Hiashi say about me teaching Hinata to summon a snake?"

The Genjutsu Mistress took a second to think it over. "I don't believe there would be an issue, but I kind of figured Ami would get the contact."

"Girl's good with poisons and Senbon." Anko agreed nodding her head thoughtfully. "Yes, the contract would help Ami a lot and I plan on having her sign when she shows stronger skill, maybe create a mini-me, but I was thinking of giving Hinata one snake in particular; a direct contract to one summoning animal."

Kurenai thought it over. A direct contact allowed a person to summon with minimal chakra and no blood payment. It also allowed the animal to know if their contracted was in danger; they could teleport to your side without you doing anything. The problem was if Hinata ever wanted to sign the Snake Summoning Scroll it would void the direct contact. "I'm guessing this snake would complement her skill set somehow?"

"Guy's name is Eizo." Anko explained. "He can shrink and grow, has a wide variety of poisons that do different things, and is an expert with Hiss Style Genjutsu; one of his poisons even works like Hinata's chakra compound."

"Alright, summon him and we'll see if they both agree to the direct contact." Kurenai stated walking off to check on the individual Genin's progress.

Anko sat on the ground cross legged and concentrated her chakra. The problem with Eizo was the difficulty to summon him. This particular snake usually only responded to a summoner with a strong affinity to Genjutsu, something the purplette didn't have. Biting her thumb the Jounin slowly and methodically made the hand sign for summoning jutsu. Placing her hand on the ground she brought the snake forth.

Eizo, a ten foot reptile with whitish gold scales and pink eyes, looked around the clearing curiously and asked. "Why did you ssssumon me Anko?"

"Want you to meet someone." The Joint answered as she pointed to Hinata. The young girl was walking there way.

"Anko Sensei, Kurenai Sensei said you needed me."

"Yep, come meet the Genjutsu Master of the Ryuchi Caves; Eizo Of The Numerous Sage Poisons."

The young girl studied the reptile closely. Seeing the snake reminded her of being eaten during the exams. Suppressing a shudder that would have probably caused offense, the girl smiled and gave a polite bow. "High, I'm Lady Hinata Hyuga."

"Pleasssse to meet you Lady Hinata." The whitish gold snake hissed returning the bow. "As Anko explained I'm the Genjutsu Master of the Snakes."

"Great!" The Jounin cried. "Now that the formal bullshit's out of the way, let's talk about a direct summoning contract."

…. Hyuga Compound Later That Night ….

Hinata sat in her private bath grateful to be soaking. Her muscles were all sore from training as Anko began instructing her in Snake Style Taijutsu. The normal forms of attack, mainly Striking Shadow Snake, were still usable with a direct contact. Instead of summoning a bunch of snakes into her sleeve, the Hyuga would replicate copies of Eizo. The fact each clone was created with the actual snakes chakra allowed them to replicate his diamond hard scales for defense. To make up for the fact she didn't have baggy sleeves the young Kunoichi would use the smoke screen the jutsu created to blind attack.

"Hyuga Hinata?"

"Eep!" The young girl screamed as she quickly covered herself. The murky water wasn't transparent at all but the reflex still kicked in. Looking around she saw a small brown toad in a sleeveless red jacket setting on the floor. In a gruff voice it asked again. "Are you Hinata Hyuga?"

"Who are you, Mr. Toad?" The girl asked nervously. The heiress really hoped the wasn't an enemy attack as she didn't want a run naked through the compound.

"Me, I'm Kobachi; the new summoner of the Toads, Uzumaki Naruto, sent me."

"Oh, I see." Hinata breathed relieved. "You really should have knocked first, Kobachi."

"Please don't take this the wrong way, ma'am, but you really don't have anything I'd care to see." The brown amphibian explained. Standing up a little straighter he remarked. "I mean, look at me. I'm wearing nothing but a Jack. Is this embarrassing for you?"

Thinking it over Hinata realized the toad had a point. Even earlier today, after Eizo bit her left forearm to create the summoning tattoo, he wrapped his body around her torso to get a better symbolic feel for the girl's chakra. Technically the human-level intelligent male snake was naked, but the Hyuga never really felt uncomfortable or weirded out by this fact; even now it wasn't a big deal.

"I guess it's ok then, Kobachi-san; but next time please knock for courtesy."

"Very well, my lady." The toad agreed with a bow. "Anyway, I'm here to deliver a message. Naruto won't be able to visit anytime this month because he's training in a secret location."

"Oh." Hinata remarked heart broken. A whole month without her Naru-kun to cuddle with, this would be torture.

"But he has found away around the issue." The summons clarified. Opening his mouth impossibly wide the toad instantly spewed out a blonde headed boy in a Ninja Wrap outfit.

The Shadow Clone took a moment to get his barring then turned around eyes closed with his arms open wide. "Hina-hime, your true love has arrived; more or less!"

Figuring to be glommed, and growing confused by the fact he wasn't, the clone looked around. Noticing the bathroom and tub it wasn't hard for him to figure out his creator's girlfriend, who was submerged up to her nose with a scarlet blushing face, was in the middle of a bath. Turning away quickly, face actually redder than the Hyuga's, the blonde barked. "What the hell, Kobachi!?"

"What?" The toad shrugged. "Naruto summoned me and asked I deliver his Shadow Clone to Hinata Hyuga. Did I get the order wrong?"

"Oh no you moron, boss wanted me delivered alright, just not in her bathroom while she's naked!"

Hinata calmed down realizing what was going on. Climbing out of the tube she snuck up to the clone and whispered in his ear. "It's ok Clone-kun, I'm not mad."

The replica stood rigged stiff as it registered the voice was right behind his head. Determined to look at nothing but the wall he stammered. "H-h-h-h-h-hime, what are you d-d-d…?"

The words died in his throat as the slender arms of Hinata wrapped around his shoulders; squeezing her chest into his back. Face blue and red from his terrified blush the clone wasn't ready for the girl's next statement. With a teasing giggle the Hyuga kissed his cheek and asked. "Want to join me, Clone-kun?"

The replica actually fainted from shock and vanished in a puff of smoke. Hinata giggled uncontrollably as she returned to the water. Kobachi chuckled as he waved goodbye and disappeared in a puff of smoke of his own. Back down in the underground training area, the real Naruto was having dinner with his family and two Sensei. It was as he took a drink of tea the clones memories returned. Spewing a mouthful of tea directly in Jiraiya's face, the stunned Jinchuriki could do nothing but sit with a bleeding nose and red faced blush.

The Sannin was at first annoyed until he saw the look on his godson's face; he knew that look. Giggling giddily he asked. "So kid, did your Shadow Clone make it to your Hina-hime?"

Karen and Shomei looked confused. Danzo said nothing at the childish antics other than to shoot Jiraiya a disapproving look. Naruto jumped up saying. "I n-n-n-need to g-go to the bathroom."

Karen watched him run off and asked out loud. "What happened? What did I miss? Why's Naruto running for the bathroom like his head's on fire."

"If Hinata is anything like her mom ….." The Toad Sannin began happily before catching Shomei's eye. The look in her chocolate brown depths promised pain if he continued. Giving a sheepish laugh the hermit looked down at Karin and finished. "Never mind dear, just eat your dinner."

…. Two Weeks Later ….

Danzo watched as Karin and the real Naruto sparred. Both had mastered Wind Nature and had been working on the elder ninja's personal technique for the last few days. The warhawk never thought to name his stylized wind jutsu, other than Vacuum Bullets, as he never planned on leaving witnesses behind to remember them. The exuberant Jinchuriki had thus dubbed it Wind Style: Gentle Breeze. This name was do to the way one applied wind chakra by gently blowing on shuriken and kunai, after molding chakra with the air in their lungs. Both children were taking it a step further thanks to the Uzumaki blood running in their veins, which granting them stronger ability than normal; covering their whole bodies in wind armor for minor defense and stronger Taijutsu.

Off in the distance Jiraiya was working with numerous copies of Naruto on Fuinjutsu. The boy explained it was something he was interested in so the hermit agreed to train him. One of the boy's projects was rather inventive, Fuinjutsu Art: Solid Clone. He used a predesigned seal on his person to mold chakra and create a clone that could take massive damage; basically, only run time of jutsu or killing blow could dismiss it. The duration was only ten minutes but the technique was still effective; however, after the jutsu ended the tag on Naruto needed a thirty minute recharge before creating a new clone.

At the moment Yamanaka Fu was actually sparring with a Solid Clone towards the left hand wall. Danzo's subordinate had trained Naruto in Lightning Release and had demonstrated his one ability with it, channeling lightning into weapons. The Jinchuriki, being his ever inventive self, was doing just that with a Giant Shadow Senbon; Fu was doing everything in his power to fend of the Bojutsu with infused kunai. The old warhawk wasn't sure but believed the blonde actually wanted to harm the Yamanaka; he just wasn't sure why.

Returning his attention to the Uzumaki spar Danzo dismissed the minor concern. 'Oh well, Naruto is gaining valuable battle experience and Fu is learning to fend of a chakra powerhouse; the village is stronger for it.'

Across the room Jiraiya studied the blondes around him with a critical eye. Most were working on Storage Scrolls and Explosive Tags, but a few worked on Jutsu Launchers; tags that stored pre-made Genjutsu or Ninjitsu to attack with when enemies got close. The break through both master and student had with Solid Clone had quickly spurn them forward. The only thing that slowed them down was the fact all parchment was real so they had to get more; chakra replicated seal tags, like Paper Bombs from a Shadow Clone's weapons kit, couldn't be modified without disruption.

"SHIT!" A clone screamed as a premature detonation blew up in his face. Ten clones died with the fool that made the mistake as the rest, after pausing to go over memories, just kept on working. The real Naruto sent over more copies and the training continued.

Jiraiya remember back to when he was a Genin. Hiruzen wasn't the greatest when it came to Fuinjutsu but he taught the hermit all he knew. The Sannin had once come close to blowing off his arm trying to create a storage area on his bicep. If not for his Sensei's quick thinking his Shinobi carrier would have ended that day.

This experience instilled within Jiraiya a powerful self preservation; something Naruto wasn't getting. Using Shadow Clones was removing the caution of failed Fuinjutsu Tags. Literally the gaki had accidentally killed himself five times today alone. If this complacency followed him to the field of battle the brat would do his enemy's bidding accidentally. The problem was the Sannin didn't know how to artificially instill the self-preservation. He just had to hope Naruto mastered Fuinjutsu enough in training before ever needing it in battle.

"EVERYONE, HIT THE DECK!" A blonde clone cried as it, and several others, dove on top of the parchment it was using.

The paper tag, a jutsu launcher, erupted and a massive wave of replicated mini-shuriken were unleashed. Naruto had the idea for a jutsu after learning Danzo's Gentle Breeze and figuring out how to coat his hands in wind chakra. Creating multiple mini-shuriken to hold in his wind coated palms, he could attack with dozens of mini wind blades at once. It worked, allowing him to launch dozens of razor blades with deadly procession. The problem was it took to long to construct the technique in an actual fight, so the boy decided to create a tag to do it for him.

Jiraiya was forced to defend himself with his Lion's Mane Jutsu. Wrapping his entire body in spiral wound chakra infused white hair, the Sannin watched as every clone was decimated. Off in the distance Danzo created a massive gale to defend himself, Naruto, and Karen. Yamanaka Fu disappeared underground as the Solid Clone he was sparing with was ripped apart. Lastly, Shomei generated a floating shield of blood to hide behind.

The Sannin released his jutsu and looked around at the deviation as every occupant in the room walked over. Turning to his blonde student he asked mockingly as he already knew the answer. "Now Naruto, what did you do wrong?"

The boy rubbed the back of his head sheepishly. "I confused the release element with the jutsu amplifier. It actually created far more shadow shuriken than I originally stored. Hehehehe."

"It's not funny, cousin." Shomei growled angrily. "If not for quick thinking we'd all be dead right now."

Naruto looked down at his feet apologetically. He hadn't meant to do it, but the release element and the amplifier were practically the same squiggle. The elder Uzumaki made sure the reality sank in before saying. "It alright this time cousin, just make sure there isn't a repeat."

Danzo watched emotionlessly as the redhead reprimanded the Jinchuriki. She was right that this was a lesson that needed learning. Deciding the boy got the message the old warhawk stated. "Let us continue with training, we only have two weeks until the finals."

…. Training Ground Three ….

Sakura sat meditating while Kurenai observed. In front of the pinkette stood an almost perfect negative copy in the original outfit she used to wear; the only real deference being the horns and sharp fangs. The longer the young Kunoichi held the illusion jutsu the stronger her chakra resonated; like training a muscle you allowed to atrophy over time, regaining the Uzumaki's known clan chakra density was taking time. Eventually the change would stick, but for now the pinkette was forced to make it so in hopes of regaining the power she accidentally suppressed.

"Alright, that's enough Sakura. Let's move on to combat."

At her Sensei's order the young Kunoichi stood up. Focusing more on maintaining the Uzumaki Ido Illusion than anything else, she pulled her violin out of her back holster and bow from her lower back scabbard. (1) Kurenai stood ready while focusing her mind. The key was for her to use no more skill than an average person fighting through Sound Genjutsu; her full skill would allow her to shatter any technique Sakura currently tried, but that wouldn't help the pinkette train. Her student was trying to utilize her sound techniques while allowing the Ido Illusion free reign to fight; kind of like double-teaming with yourself.

Sakura began with a slow haunting melody that induced the petals on her wraps to spin. Unleashing her patent Sakura Blossom Petal Blind the girl tried to maintain the lowest setting for the Combo possible while allowing her Ido to remain solid. The negative illusion flickered but charged Kurenai anyway.

The Jounin ducked under a wild haymaker while rolling away. She knew better than to try blocking any attack from the Ido. The thing was pure psychic force and not subject-able to the laws of normal people. It's strength was relative to Sakura's willpower, as well the level of aggression she felt for her opponent. Darkly Kurenai wondered just how strong the Ido would be if it was attacking Mebuki Haruno.

Dodging the illusion again the Genjutsu Mistress dashed for the caster. Sakura never moved or wavered as she played her instrument. The pink blossoms obscured the girl from view for a second, only to move away showing she was no longer there. Kurenai, not fooled for a second, kept going until she grabbed the girl's invisible shoulder.

Everything ended as the petals and Ido faded. The red eyed Jounin looked down amused at her annoyed student and praised. "Not bad, Sakura, not good but definitely not bad; you're getting there."

"Yeah, but it's useless against Naruto; we both know that." The green eyed girl whined. "This fight is so one sided I'm going to get laughed at by everyone. Maybe I should just forfeit."

"I can't believe what I'm hearing!" Came the sound of an elderly woman's voice as she approached. "No member of my clan would ever just give up without a fight; not even a throwback!"

Both Kurenai and Sakura looked up shocked to see the elderly Lady Mayako approaching. Two samurai in traditional Land Of Bears armor flanked her. It took only a moment to place them as the guards from Lightning Way; the elderly Shoichi and younger Isamu. Lord Hokage walked beside her with no guard present; which didn't mean ANBU weren't far away.

"Lady Mayako, what are you doing here!?" The pinkette asked happily.

"Received a letter from this young whippersnapper." The elderly woman laughed as she pointed to Hiruzen. "Said another Uzumaki had been discovered; also you and Naruto would be battling it out in the finals. Figured I'd come meet the long lost Karin and make sure you didn't embarrass yourself and our clan."

"Hey, I'm not that bad!" The Kunoichi defended.

"Did I not just hear you contemplate forfeiting before the first punch was thrown?" The elder countered.

The girl crossed her arms stubbornly and looked away. Kurenai sighed at her students behavior while speaking. "It's good to see you Lady Mayako. Any help you can give Sakura would be most appreciated."

Hiruzen looked between the elderly woman and young girl happily. "Well, I must be going. I was just showing Lady Mayako around but now must return to finish my paperwork."

With that the elderly man disappeared in a puff of smoke. The faded redhead looked at the Samurai and said. "The two of you can head back to the village. I doubt I need protection from anything around here."

"Lady Mayako, we were ordered to protect by Lord Daimyo himself. We would be failing in our duties if we left you unattended." The older Shoichi explained with a bow.

"Very well, but if you're staying you're helping train Sakura." The woman ordered.

Neither man said anything to this command as they had internal debates. The Samurai were still a highly misogynist group that only allowed men to fight; women were still meant to be protected in there way of life. The Shinobi system valued everyone as potentially trained killers; mainly because deceitful tactics were the norm. Most men did not view women as threats so never saw the hidden kunai coming in time. Helping Sakura train was against their code, but not following a direct order was also against their code. In the end both decided to help as it would better prepare this child to survive hostile situations.

The young student looked to her elder and asked. "What do you plan to teach me so I can fight Naruto on even ground?"

"Nothing, that's an unattainable dream." Mayako scoffed. "You need to understand your strengths and weaknesses to increase your chances of winning; or surviving depending on the situation. Naruto's level of overall power, and Yumegan abilities, surpass everything you can currently do. If you are to win you must outthink him. There is also the possibility of Fuinjutsu that might help."

"You plan on teaching Sakura Fuinjutsu in two weeks?" Kurenai asked disbelieving.

"Of course not." The elderly redhead chuckled. "She doesn't have Naruto's ability with Shadow Clones to divide her attention into multiple endeavors, but a few come to mind I can graft on her body; pre-made jutsu that might give her an edge."

Kurenai thought it over and agreed. "Alright, we got two weeks to get Sakura up to a level that can at least hold up to Naruto for more than two punches; let's get started."

The pinkette said nothing as she fumed. She knew her elder and Sensei were poking fun to motivate her into training harder, but it was still irritating.

Author's Note:

(1)- May not have explained this. Sakura carries her violin in a special wooden holster strapped from her right shoulder to left hip. Basically she grabbed the neck of violin, which she can find at her lower left side waist, (violin held in scabbard pointing down basically). The bow is on her lower back with handle pointed out from her right side. No it's confusing but plan to fix later with Fuinjutsu storage; just not yet to show her level of skill.

Quick question, my chapter update says number 21 but the count is 20????? Anyone else getting that?
