Chapter 40: Interlude: One: Campus Life.

#1: Trouble with Roommates (Male Version)

Hachiman Hikigaya is roommates with Ryuuji Takasu, Sousuke Sagara and Shirou Emiya. Each of them has very different personalities. There methods while dealing with a problem also vary depending upon the situation. For example, this is what happens when one of them finds a love letter.

"It's not addressed to anyone. There's no name." Ryuuji Takasu flipped it over and looked at both sides. "But I found it inside my bag. Should I open it?" He asked.

Shirou Emiya was open-minded about it. "I think you should open it, Ryuuji. But if you want, we can give you some privacy. What do you think guys? Should we leave the room?"

Hachiman had the soundest mind. He simply asked. "Who writes love letters these days? Can't people just confess to the person they like and get rejected in the spot and be done with it."

"Affirmative." Sousuke Sagara believed in action. "You know what, let me deal with it."

"Are you sure?" Ryuuji asked.

"It's not a problem."

As the three of them found out it would be a pretty big problem soon enough.

"Okay, what happened?" Shizuka Hiratsuka asked them.

All of them were seated in the sofa, covered in soot, hair disheveled, clothes a bit singed. Hachiman Hikigaya, Ryuuji Takasu and Shirou Emiya looked at Sousuke Sagara. He thought their look meant a situation report was due.

"Right," Sousuke Sagara began. "After I received the suspicious letter from Ryuuji Takasu, I was on my way blow it up-"

"Blow it up, he says." Hachiman chimed, pathetically.

"Yes, blow it up. It was the right course of action." Sousuke explained. "But on the way I ran into Megumin-"

"Megumin, he says." Shirou Emiya chimed, sadly.

"Yes, Megumin. From Kazuma's team. You see, explosives are getting expensive these days and Shirou Emiya and Ryuuji Takasu are always going on about being more economical, so I asked Megumin for help to dispose of the unknown threat. At a safe distance, down below at the bunkers." Sousuke clarified. "But she was with Seiya Ryuuguuin-"

"Seiya Ryuuguuin, he says." Ryuuji Takasu cried.

"Yes him." Sousuke Sagara said. "And he decided, some prompt action was desired. So, he and Megumin decided -"

"-To cause an explosion outside your rooms." Hiratsuka-sensei supplied.

"Affirmative."

Shizuka Hiratsuka didn't know whether to laugh at their misery or cry laughing at the series of events that had taken place. In the end she decided to have a smoke and let, the wizards sort out this mess with some quick repairing magic.

Such were the things which happened daily on campus. As expected, judgment was still out on whether Neo Tokyo University was the best place to get a better understanding of the new world order or it was probably the most distracting and random place in the entire world.

#2: Trouble with Magic.

Kaoru Hitachiin and Hikaru Hitachiin are twins. Because they are rich, they can afford to be particular about a few things in their life. They are business partners with George Weasley and Fred Weasley. Those two are twins as well. And to handle their private matters they have employed Ram and Rem as their personal maids. Again, those two are twin sisters.

One time, the Weasley Twins came up with a cool item for their joke shop.

"What's this?" Haruno Yukinoshita asked.

"It's the sorting hat." George Weasley explained.

"Well, not the actual hat." Fred Wesley said. "It's a rip off of the original, but we made it work more or less like the original one. It will help students be sorted into one of the four houses back in Hogwarts based on their personality and other unexplainable qualities. Put it on."

The hat touched Haruno Yukinoshita's head. Her eyes widened. "It's talking!" she said surprised.

"Well duh," Kaoru Hitachiin said. "Honestly woman, you talk like you have never seen magic before. We attend Neo Tokyo University in case you have forgotten." Then he made a face. "We all take Snape's theoretical case, I doubt you have forgotten that."

The sorting hat started speaking out loud. "Ah, I see cunning, I see intellect, a need to prove yourself, a need to be an ideal for your little sister. But what's this, there's more." The hat's brim was now split in a smirk. "You don't want to be a puppet for your family. You want to be your own person. But you lack courage and fortitude to take the final step."

Haruno blushed. "Shut up!"

"But you see a light in the darkness and that light is lit by your own intelligence." The sorting hat looked proud as it announced. "I see you in Ravenclaw!"

"Pity, you couldn't have made into Gryffindor like the rest of us." Hikaru Hitachiin said.

"But we did say, you were the smarter one in your family." Kaoru Hitachiin opined. Then he looked at the assembled crowd of interested faces. "Okay, gather around, everyone gets to try it on. C'mon, c'mon, whose next!?"

Hachiman Hikigaya got placed in Slytherin to no one's surprise. Edward Elric was put in Gryffindor as was Mordred Pendragon. Miyuki Shirogane, the associate student body president surprised everyone when he was put in Hufflepuff instead of Ravenclaw as everyone expected.

But then the biggest surprise came from –

"Slytherin!" The sorting hat said, perched on top the pretty little head of Rin Tohsaka.

Everyone in the gathered crowd, who knew the women kinda agreed with the hat. But Rin Tohsaka had a different opinion. In fact her reaction was downright terrifying.

"Take that back you hack!"

Everyone watched in horror as Rin Tohsaka produced the legendary Sword of Gryffindor from inside the Sorting Hat and then slashed it right down the middle. It fell to the ground, torn up, not talking anymore, the smirk at the brim turning to a normal crease born out of old age, wear and tear.

"Wait Fred, was that the real hat!?" George asked alarmed.

"I don't know. But did you see what happened!?" Fred looked at Rin Tohsaka with something close to amazement. "A Slytherin just pulled out the Sword of Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat! That's, that's, all kinds of wrong."

"But is it the real thing." George asked again. "I mean, we didn't make it."

"Those two hats were kept together on the work bench." Fred answered thoughtfully.

"I picked the one on the right."

"Oh."

Needless to say, no one knows whether the sorting hat that was returned back to Hogwarts was the real thing of legends made by the founding fathers themselves, or was it something made in a joke shop by the Weasley Twins funded by the Hitachiin brothers.

Nothing good would come out of this knowledge.

#3: Trouble with Roommates (Female Version)

Yuigahama Yui is roommates with Fumino Furuhashi, Kurono Kurumu and Hiyori Iki. The four of them had a horrible experience at the start of the new semester. Kurono Kurumu baked cookies which were dozed with love potion and kept them lying around in the room. The unsuspecting women each had one and what happened next, no one knows.

Afterwards, when they regained consciousness and came back to their senses, this is what took place in their room.

"What happened?" Yuigahama asked blurrily.

Fumino Furuhashi rubbed her eyes. "What time is it?"

Hiyori Iki yelped. "Ah! Why are we all naked!?"

The three women looked at Kurono Kurumu in the corner of the room. She had her knees pulled up, hugging herself in a protective manner. She sniffed, like a tragic heroine. "Now, I will never be able to get married."

There were two males who had broken into the room as well.

"Nariyuki-kun?"

"Yato?"

The two male ignored the calls of the women.

"Drink up, Nariyuki. You need to cleanse your soul with holy water."

"That's right. And it's so cheap."

"Absolutely, it's just five yen per glass." Yato then looked at the women in the room. He spoke to them with judgment in his voice. "You girls could sure use some holy water. I don't think it will purify you though. But maybe if you used the whole bottle, then maybe you could help yourself."

Kurumu Kurono weeped in a comical manner. The rest of the girls looked at each other, dead tired, feeling sore, hurting in some interesting places and they all decided to call it a night. They had skipped there whole classes for the day already, so it wouldn't hurt to skip the rest.

Trivia: "Tsundere Service" is a real club which operates on the campus. It was formed by Hitagi Senjougahara (Bakemonogatari). Meanwhile there is the "Silent Voice" club which is formed by Shouko Nishimiya. Members include: Shouko Komi (Komi-san can't communicate). She didn't want to be in the club, but as expected, she couldn't communicate her feelings to Shouko Nishimiya. Other members include: Sumi Sakurasawa (Rent-A-Girlfriend), Nezuko Kamado (Demon Slayer) and Miku Nakano (Quintessential Quintuplets)
