Inside the washroom, Kagome submerged herself in the dark waters; it was clear the maids of his castle kept the room clean with fresh hot water, which was not an easy feat. The water was fresh and clean, and she felt so good, but no matter how much she washed, she felt odd, as if she could not wash enough. Freedom only at night, she sighed, it was better than being locked up all the time, so she was grateful.
Inside his room, Sesshomaru played with the jewel, looking at it, studying, he wondered if his father had written anything about it, if he knew the Miko who created it, that was another thing on his list of things to do, for sure. Another pressing matter was the Miko herself, what was he to do with her, could he let her roam around, when would she return to the jewel? He would get no rest tonight.
Soon the door opened, and she walked back out, wearing his layer again; her hair was soaking wet. "Sorry."
Kagome walked up to him. "Now, what?"
"I do not know the bonds of the spell Miko."
Kagome bit her lip "I'm not tired," She was restless; he could see it. She watched his face as he was in thought, "What are you thinking?" She asked, unafraid.
Sesshomaru looked at her; they have never talked like this. "What am I to do with you."
She looked down. "I'm sorry, I didn't know this would happen, and that you would be stuck with me."
"Leave the room."
She looked up, "Hu?"
"I am testing you, leave my room."
She didn't understand; she was set and half-naked, and he wanted her to leave? Slowly Kagome made her way to his door, and then once opened, she tried to leave but found herself being slammed back, and back to him, her back slammed into his chest, and the force shot them both back.
Sesshomaru slammed against the wall; his hands went to her arms to steady her; her breath was knocked out. He could feel her heart slamming against his chest; it scared the hell at of her, he, however, knew that might happen, but even he did not brace for it.
"What happened," She asked as she slowly pulled away from him,
"You can not be far from the jewel, Miko."
She turned and looked at him; the jewel rested at his chest, which is why she went that way. "Oh, good to know."
"Indeed,"
"Anything else, and this time, could you please give me a warning?"
"Perhaps,"
"You getting a kick out of this, aren't you?"
He looked at her blank,
"Your tired, aren't you?" She asked,
"This Sesshomaru does not get tired."
She shook her head, "Are all the Inu men stubborn?"
Yes, and he knew it.
"And put a shirt on!" She snapped, looking away,
"You have my shirt Miko, come I need something."
Sesshomaru walked past her, and to her door, Kagome hurried to follow; she didn't want to slam into him again; it hurt.
"So, you have the jewel, so I have to be with you at all times?"
"Correct, unless you wish to be in the hands of another"
Kagome blushed. "Don't say it like that," She whispered,
He looked at her; it hit him how she took it, looking at her face. Indeed the girl was still a virgin; tiny things made her blush.
"And I am free at night."
"Correct."
"Where are we going?"
"To the hall of books, I seek a book of notes that my father wrote."
"You think he knew something about the jewel."
"He knew of the jewel and the Miko who made it, they knew each other."
Kagome stopped, "What."
Sesshomaru stopped; he didn't need her slamming into him again. "This is something you should know."
"You know I would not know it; I came from the future, hey wait, why don't was ask Kikyo or her sister!"
That was not a bad idea; he thought for a moment, "Very well, we will seek them out first."
"Oh! Will you tell others!"
"No,"
"No?"
"What good would it do? I do not need your human friends, my half brother, and a dead bitch in my home."
For a moment, she forgot who he was. "For a moment, I forgot who you were."
His eyebrows moved in, giving her a hard look; what did that mean? He knew, really, what she meant and that she didn't totally mean it, not that he cared.
"I will tell the slayer and no one else."
A small smile graced her face. "Thank you."
"Come, I wish to get back to my room."
Of course, that was better said than done, Sesshomaru and Kagome spent hours looking through stuff, but in the end, they each found one book containing info they might need. Once back in his room, he took to reading, taking the book from her, he told her she was not allowed to read his father's thoughts, she was not family, so she sat on his bed and watched him.
It didn't take him long to scan the book, and he closed it, dust flew out.
"Anything?"
He didn't say anything and went to the next book, flipping thought it too, and just like the first, he snapped it shut.
"Well?"
Sesshomaru looked at her "Nothing that concerns you, or us, these will be of no help."
Kagome's shoulder fell. "Oh, well, thanks for trying"
Kagome got off his bed and went to the window; as she did, Sesshomaru locked the books in the side drawer; he did not want her to see those books at all.
