He watched from Olympus as she stumbled through the trees, calling his name. His anger fading, he longed to go to her, to hold and comfort her. But his mother would never allow it.
He watched her go through Aphrodite's harsh trials and secretly guided her.
He watched her descend into the Underworld and his heart seized with panic when she opened the box.
Then at last, he could go to her, take her in his arms and carry her to Olympus.
The gods healed her and made her a goddess, and he knew they would be together for eternity.
