A/N- to Clarify, Cerise, Gemini, and the boys are in the 3rd grade, not in the 4th grade. My mistake
At lunchtime, things were busy as usual, the girls were gossiping about certain things going on around the school, the boys were laughing it up about silly jokes.
At Cerise's table, Gemini was talking about a certain topic.
"Free dress day is tomorrow, what are you guys going to wear?" She asked.
"I-I don't know...I never really figured it out yet…" Tony stuttered pulling at his right ear, with his index finger nearing his blonde hair.
"I'm not too much into fashion Gemini…" Rafael added.
"What's the big deal about it anyway?" Francois asked.
"Free dress day is once every two months...so We have to dress it up while we still can…"
"We free dress all the time when we're not in school Gemini…" Francois told her
"Aren't you guys sick of wearing your uniforms all the time...What about you Cece?" Gemini turned to Cerise, who was eating a Croque Madame sandwich Colette made her. Cerise perked up when her name was called.
"What are you going to wear for free dress day tomorrow Cerise?" Cerise shrugged her shoulders and typed on her translator
I don't have much fancy clothes for free dress day, what are you going to wear?
"Well, I'll have to see what Mom made me today...Maybe we can look in your closet Cerise…" Gemini answered
Cerise's eyes widened and typed on her translator.
I might have to ask Father and mother if you can come over
"I'm sure they'll say yes and if you don't have much then you can come over to my house…"
Are you sure?
"I'm positive...I've been talking about you to my parents a lot and they are dying to meet you.
Cerise smiled at this and continued to eat her sandwich.
When the end of the day arrived, Colette arrived to pick up Cerise. She asked her adoptive mother if Gemini can come over and she said yes.
Gemini was going through Cerise's clothes and it's mostly just stripes, jeans, and plaid shirts, and plain t-shirts.
"Is this what you mostly have Cerise?" Gemini asked. Cerise nodded. Gemini shrugged her shoulders.
She couldn't blame her friend. She had baby twins to take care of and they would pee, poop, or vomit on her clothes. Se felt the same way about her brothers. Then she spotted something.
"What's this…" She picked up a pair of overalls. "I like these for you…"
Cerise typed on her translator. Thanks...a few of mine gave it to me…
What Cerise meant was the two bakers she met before.
"I think I have just the thing to go with this…." Gemini placed the overalls in her backpack
Cerise gave her a confused look. "Don't worry I'm not going to steal them...I'm just going to see what we can work with, with my clothes…" Gemini explain
The girls walked down the stairs and Cerise told them that they were going to Gemini's house for a bit...to take her home.
Cerise rode on the back of Gemini's bike. Their neighborhood was pretty calm and when they arrived, Gemini's mother peeked out seeing the two girls
"Hey, Gemini…" Gemini's mother greeted
"Hi, Mom…" Gemini replied
"So you're the world-famous Cerise, Gemini told me about." Cerise nodded and blushed
"She's so sweet…"
"Mama...Can we see some new designs you came up with?" Gemini asked
"Sure you can...Come on inside." The girls follow the woman inside. The interior had very beautiful pops of color inside. The colors used were dark violet, seafoam green, and cherry red. Cerise loved the walls and the furniture.
"You like it...We call it simply bold…" then a few cries were heard upstairs.
"I got it, honey…." a male voice yelled. then the cries started to decrease.
Cerise pointed upstairs. "Oh...Those are just Gemini's baby brothers...They're really cranky after a nap, especially Jim…" the girls tilted their heads
"Oh Gemini's father named the boys, I named Gemini...I just love the zodiac and Gemini really suited her, well I'm named Pisces."
Then Cerise signed something and looked at Gemini to translate her.
"Cerise said that She has baby twin siblings and She knows how you feel," Gemini said
"Well That makes two of us" then Pisces laughed along with Gemini while Cerise gingerly smiled
"Some of the designs aren't ready just yet...Gemini, Why do you show Cerise your room…"
"Okay…" then the girls raced upstairs
Cerise loved Gemini's room. The walls were the color salmon pink with a mix of turquoise and the colors mix really well together. The walls were covered with a bunch of pictures.
Cerise took a look at one where Gemini is on the beach and a wave was coming towards her. Gemini spotted her friend looking at the picture too.
"You like that picture…" Cerise nodded her head. "This was on my last day in California…"
Cerise then typed on her translator. Do you miss California…
"Yeah...But I think Paris is better…"
I bet California is beautiful…
Then Gemini thought to herself. "You know...Maybe if we go back during the summer, I would love to take you with me…" then Cerise turned to her with wide eyes. "I could show you everything, from Hollywood to the sun shining beaches of Venice…" but then Gemini spotted something in her closet and she ran towards it. She grabbed a long sleeve rainbow shirt and placed it on Cerise.
"I think you're my size, maybe a little smaller...Can you try this on?" Cerise nodded her head.
Gemini led her to the bathroom and Gemini shut the door behind her to let Cerise change.
When Cerise came out with the rainbow shirt on, Gemini gave her the overalls. When Cerise came out the second time, Gemini smiled.
"You need one more thing, come with me…"
Then Gemini showed Cerise a yellow beret and she showed the red-haired girl how to put it on
"Now that looks awesome," Gemini said, making Cerise smile in the mirror
"Girls, some of my designs are ready...Having a fashion show aren't we?" Gemini's mother asked
"Yeah...Do you think we can use some of them?" Gemini asked
"Sure sweetheart, let me go get them…" Pisces then left the room.
"Let's play some music…" Gemini then raced to her stereo and play a song (Sh-Boom by the Chords)
"I love this song…" then Gemini started to d
Cerise looked at Gemini confused as the girl danced around to the song.
"Have you danced before…" Cerise shook her head. "Come on, I'll teach you…"
Then Gemini grabbed Cerise and twirled her around and show her a few moves and Cerise started to get into it and started to kick along with the music, Gemini joined her and they kicked like the Rockettes playfully and twirled and danced.
"Girls...I got the clothes ready…" the girls glanced at each other
"You ready for a fashion show?" Gemini asked. Cerise nodded her head
Then Gemini played some music and the girls showed off Gemini's mother's designs. They were mostly street prints, animal prints, denim, anything else they could find. She mentioned to the girls that with her fashion, she's trying to bring the essence of California into Paris
"I think we found our outfits, What do you think Cece?" Cerise nodded
The big day arrived and Rafael, Tony, and Francois were waiting at the front doors.
"Where are Cerise and Gemini?" Tony asked.
"I don't know...I don't think they've ever been late before…"
"Here we are…" the boys turned around and their jaws dropped. The girls are right in front of them with their chosen outfits.
Cerise wore the rainbow shirt with the overalls, a yellow beret, complimenting her red hair perfectly and she wore her black sneakers
Gemini in contrast wore a light purple shirt with a dark purple cheetah print on the bottom, ripped jeans, and white sneakers. Both of the girls sported sunglasses, Cerise's is pink, while Gemini's is blue
"Wow, you guys look awesome…" Tony complimented
"I know right, Mr. and Ms. Linguini thought that Cerise looked beautiful too," Gemini said
This comment made Cerise blush and she typed into her translator
I think Gemini looks the best...I mean her mom made her shirt…
"Oh come on...You look cute too, I think this may be your new style…"
You think so…
"Of course….Colors like this look amazing on you…." Cerise blushed and typed out thank you
"Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go inside…" Rafael said
The clique goes inside the school and most of the kids turned heads when they saw Cerise and Gemini.
Everyone gave them compliments, even the teachers
"Why girls, you both look beautiful…"
"Thank you, Monsieur Monet…" Gemini said.
The popularity of the clothes didn't last for too long. By the time recess was over everyone just saw them in the clothes.
"Well, At least you guys got compliments…" Tony reassured them
"Yeah well, that's because Marie had to wear a tutu for free dress day...with a pink baby seal fur coat…" Gemini complained.
Poor baby seal Cerise typed. This cause a bit of laughter in the group
"I saw when the next free dress comes around, we can top it, Wanna do it, Cerise.
Cerise thought about it and nodded her head. Maybe the boys can do it with us
The boys looked at each other and thought about "NO thanks," they said.
