Cerise and Friends- 9
It was the middle of fall transferring to winter and Cerise heard everyone talk about a holiday called Halloween. She's never celebrated it, nor has she ever eaten candy. This surprised her friends at school.
"You've never celebrated Halloween…" Tony asked her, shocked. Cerise sadly shook her head.
"Well, that's a shame…" Francois added. Gemini smacked him in the arm.
"Well, We're gonna give you the Halloween of your life...I volunteer to get you a costume...I already have an idea" Gemini spoke enthusiastically.
"Here we go…" Francois sighed
"I think it's a good idea Gem…" Rafael complimented
"Thank you, Rafe…" Gemini said.
With that, the girls went Halloween shopping. After trying some costumes, Gemini thought that they should do a costume together.
When the big day came around, everyone had a plan. Alfredo and Colette allowed Cerise to go trick or treating with her friends. Cerise and Gemini went together as the colors pink and blue. Tony went as a zombie, Francois went as a werewolf, and Rafael as a vampire.
Cerise wore a pink varsity jacket with a blue dress under a small silver belt. She had a blue beret to match the blue dress and pink sneakers Gemini loaned her to match the jacket.
Gemini wore the inverted version of Cerise's costume except for the beret because of her curly hair instead she wore a blue bow and blue combat boots. Her pink dress had ruffles on the bottom.
Cerise typed on her translator Where are we going to get candy?
"Cece...We're going to the rich neighborhood where the best jackpots are there…" Gemini said
"Yeah if we can get there fast enough we can still catch the houses and still get the good candy…" Tony added
Cerise smiled at this.
The sun began to set and the kids set off to get their candy. When they arrived, most of the kids already got started and they arrived on time. They luckily got Cerise a bag and caught her ahead of time on what to say when they got to the door.
When they went to the first house, Francois knocked on the door and an elderly couple came out.
"Trick or treat…" They all say. The adults couldn't help but gush at how cute the costumes looked.
"Aww...Henry...Get them some candy…" then the husband brought a large bowl of candy and dumped it in all 5 of their bags.
"Thank you…" all 5 kids say. As they left the house, they all smiled. Cerise especially grinned ear to ear
"You see Cece...That's call trick or treating...and you got your first batch," Gemini explained
"Trust me, there's plenty more where that came from, Come on…" Rafael added. Cerise eagerly joined her friends on the night of trick or treating.
When they were done, they headed back to Cerise's house. Her adoptive mother and father were surprised at how much candy they have.
"Wow, you guys stocked up on candy," Colette spoke
"Yup," all four kids said while Cerise nodded her head.
"Well, it's getting late-" Alfredo started
"Woah Woah...We can't leave yet...We haven't told scary stories yet…" Francois exclaimed.
The others agreed that they haven't. Cerise tilted her head in confusion.
"On Halloween, we tell scary stories, Cece…" Gemini then turned to the boys. "Whoever tells the scariest story gets to eat their candy first…"
"What...What about one getting everyone else's candy…" Francois complained
"Chill Fran, this is Cerise's first Halloween and it isn't fair that you take hers since she's never tried candy before…" Tony argued.
"Oh, excuses, excuses…" Francois scoffed.
"Can we tell stories now…" Rafael asked. Then a few babbles came from Cerise's baby brother and sister. They tried to crawl over the group, wanting to hear stories themselves until their mother and father picked them up.
"It's bedtime for you two…" Alfredo was best for them to be in bed, otherwise, you'd hear crying all night.
After carrying the twins to the nursery upstairs, Colette came back down and gave them flashlights.
"Thanks, Ms. Linguini…" the 4 kids said. Colette nodded to them and went upstairs
"You guys only have time for one story, It's 9:30" Colette warned before departing to her room.
"ONE STORY…" The kids except for Cerise groan.
"I wanna tell my story, I think Cerise will love it…" Francois smiled and winked at the red-headed girl.
"No, I wanna tell my story...I earned it…" Gemini argued
"Wait...Why don't we let Cerise choose for us...After all, it's her first Halloween…" Rafael suggested.
"Good Idea...Cerise, whose story do you want to hear?" Gemini asked her friend.
Cerise thought about it and pointed to Tony. Tony pumped his fist.
"Alright, Tony go ahead…" Gemini said. Tony stood up and went in front of the group and the rest of the kids shined the flashlights on him as if it were a spotlight.
"Alright, prepared to be scared...My story is called The Mystery of the Basement" Tony announced
"Nice title…" Gemini commented. Cerise nodded in agreement.
"Alright, It stars all of us and it began on a summer day when we just got out of school"
The Mystery of the Basement
On a beautiful summer day, the five kids were on their bikes with Cerise holding onto Gemini's bike. They looked around the countryside scenery lovely pink flowers fell on the road they were riding in
"Hey guys, I think we might be lost…" Tony commented as he rode.
I know….I think that we should head back to the city… Cerise typed on her translator. She held onto her yellow beanie as she held onto Gemini's bike.
"Why it looks so pretty here…" Rafael inquired.
"Our parents will be worried about us...and pretty soon the sun is about to go down…." Gemini replied.
Then they all saw a point in having to go back. They were known to get in trouble for riding too far out on the town.
"Can we sing a riding song...I'm bored…" Gemini asked. Tony thought of one.
"She'll be coming around the mountain when she comes," He sang. Then the rest of the group except for Cerise sing along. This goes on for a few minutes until…
WOOOONNNNKKKKKK! A dark van suddenly lurched behind the kids blaring its horn, scaring the children
"Hey….What's the big idea…" Tony shouted. All of the kids turned to see the van tailgating them at an alarming velocity.
"Come on, go around us…" Gemini shouted. But the van still tailed them, swerving closely to them.
"GO the other way…" the kids shouted. "Go that way…" then finally the van tears forward Blasting toward the distant horizon. The five children watched it moved
"What was their problem," Francois asked
"My first guess….PEDOPHILES…." Tony shouted at the van in the distance
"Ugh, I'm still shaking…" Gemini groaned.
"Let's just go…" then the kids continued to ride their bikes out.
They stopped at a bakery and ate off of free samples.
"Haven't you guys heard the rumors about this part of town?" Rafael asked
Cerise typed What rumors on her translator.
"Well, rumor has it, a double date went in this part of France and they went on this road and then they were never to be seen or heard from again…" Francois answered.
"And all that was left of them was a red car...and their bags which were covered in blood…" Rafael finished.
"Well, Hopefully, that doesn't happen to us…" Tony said, finishing his cheese
"And it won't...As long as we get home and we get home fast…" Gemini added
The kids got on their bikes and continued to ride.
"Have you guys talked to the teachers since the break?" Cerise asked on her translator.
"No...Haven't the teachers come by the restaurant?" Francois asked.
"That's not what she asked you guys...She said if you talked to any of the teachers since summer started…" Gemini corrected Francois
"I'm just saying we haven't, I'm sure they're busy not having to deal with us…" Francois argued.
Cerise and tony glanced at each other and rolled their eyes. Then they took notice that this part of town was a little darker and they saw that Paris was nearby.
"Hey, Guys, Paris at 4 o'clock" Tony called. They all cheered, seeing that they were almost home.
Then Cerise saw a large, abandoned meat factory and spotted something out of the ordinary. She tapped Gemini and Gemini took notice too.
"Hey guys, Look…" then the five kids saw the restaurant and saw that the old van was parked. The same one that almost ran them off the road.
What they all see now is something much more ominous: 3 tall, dark figures dropped something large and oblong down an old basement of the restaurant
"What the…" Francois whispered.
The oblong object is gone in an instant. Swallowed up by the large mouth of the old basement door and the three figures turned around and stared at them as the kids rode steadily past the restaurant.
"What were they doing?" Gemini asked
"Those guys threw something down that basement…" Tony replied
"Wrapped in a tarp…" Francois added.
"Wrapped and roped in a tarp," Rafael continued
Wrapped and roped in a tarp with blood on it… Cerise finished on her translator.
"Let's get out of here…" Gemini told them
"Right" the boys picked up speed
"Hold on Cece.." Cerise nodded her head and clutched onto Gemini's pink shirt with her overall dress.
The kids rode as fast as they could away from the factory and then Cerise looked back.
"What is it, Cerise…" Tony asked. Cerise pointed behind them and they saw In the distance the dark van is now leaving the old restaurant and taking the road again...heading towards them
"Uh oh…" Tony murmured. The others turned to see the van too.
"You've gotta be kidding me…" Francois groaned. Then the kids began to floor it, riding as fast as their legs could carry them. Not too far behind was the van.
"They're coming up right behind us…" Rafael whispered. Then the van started to catch up to them.
Then the kids saw that Paris was not too far from them…
"Don't worry, As long as we get to Paris...We'll be untouchable-" then the van rams into their bikes before Gemini can finish. Then the kids began to scream
"ARE YOU CRAZY?!" Francois screamed. Then the horn blared at them but it sounded like a wailing beast instead of an old van horn.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT…." Gemini screamed. Then WHAM! The van hits the back of the bikes again, almost knocking off Cerise in the process.
"Hold on Cerise, We're almost there…" Tony reassured her.
WOOOONNNKKKKK! The Strange, Brutal horn wailed again
Cerise looked around to try and find a way to get the van away from them. She then spotted a lake and a bridge nearby a church that was coming up. She tapped on Gemini and pointed towards the lake
"Guys, get ready to do something stupid…" Gemini gestured to the lake and bridge and they all agreed to the plan. They rode as a tight group and then
SLAM the van hit all of their bikes again.
Then the kids flew off the road and screamed all the way down into the lake, dropping like flies. Meanwhile, The old van is not even slowing, continuing at its terrifying speed down.
Then finally the kids resurfaced, catching their breaths.
"Is everyone okay…" Rafael asked.
"I'm okay…" Francois spoke.
"BOAT…" Tony and Gemini shouted. The four of the kids swam and they realized they're missing someone
"Cerise, Where's Cerise…" Tony shouted. The kids frantically looked around for her.
"There," Francois shouted. Cerise was unconscious, floating in the path of the boat.
"STOP THE BOAT" Francois and Rafael shouted. Tony and Gemini swam as fast as they could to their friend and they pulled her to safety and away from the incoming boat, much to everyone's relief.
Francois and Rafael helped Tony and Gemini carry Cerise on dry land and Tony began to perform CPR on her. Rafael held Gemini's hand over the course of this.
"Please Cece, I can't lose you…" Tony pumped her chest. He opened her mouth and breathed in and then like magic Cerise coughed out some water. Everyone rejoiced that Cerise was alive and well. Cerise then typed on her translator
What happened
"Well for one...Thank God your translator is waterproof...and you almost drowned on us…" Gemini spoke, at the brink of crying.
Cerise wiped her face with her red sweater.
"Oh thank heavens are you children okay…." a middle-aged couple came towards the five kids.
"We saw that van run you kids off the road…Let's step into our shop.
Then the five kids waited inside the small restaurant. They sat in a booth to fit all five of them. The couple luckily retrieved their bikes.
"Okay, we called, La Ratatouille and told them that you guys were okay…" the middle-aged man told the kids
They thanked the man and Tony couldn't help but think about something.
"Guys…" the other four kids turned to the blonde boy. "We're all pretty sure what we saw them dump down that basement, right?" the kids nodded their heads. "What if someone's still alive?
"So what…" Francois said.
Maybe it's someone that needs our help… Cerise added on her translator
"We can get help when we get to the restaurant…" Gemini replied
"Do you guys know how far we are from the restaurant?" Tony argued
"We were just attacked Tony…" then the diners shushed them
"You don't wanna know why they attacked us…" then Cerise typed something on her translator
I hate to say it but Tony's right, someone can still be alive back there and we can save them and call the police.
"Look both of us in the eye and saw that you won't go back and save a life…" Gemini, Tony, and Rafael didn't look at them.
We just look in the basement and that's all… Cerise typed
"This isn't about the right thing to do...We could be killed because of this…" Francois spoke up
"Okay, what if it was one of you guys back there." Tony inquired
The kids didn't like the looks of this but they eventually agreed.
"Well, We can't go back unarmed…" Rafael pointed out
After leaving the diner with flashlights and pocket knives, the kids rode back out to the meat factory which said, Louie's Meats and Treats
"I don't like this…" Francois whimpered
"We're only gonna look, that's it…" Tony soothed his friend's worries
"Let's just do this, and do it fast," Gemini said.
They parked their bikes and slowly walked towards the basement. They stared at the store and it was like a large, dark tunnel and A breeze came out of it. And a terrible stench…
"Aw…" they all covered their noses. "That stinks…"
"This looks, nowhere near a basement…" Rafael commented.
Wait. I see light Cerise typed on her translator
"HELLO, HELLO DOWN THERE…" Tony shouted
HELLO… Cerise blasted her translator.
"Come on guys, let's go…" as the five kids were ready to leave, a distant yell comes from the basement
"Hello…" Tony yelled. "Guys I just heard someone…" Cerise rushed to him and so did the others.
"Are you sure.." Gemini asked. Tony grabbed his flashlight and shined it down the basement
Yeah, I heard them too… Cerise typed.
"You guys are just hearing things…" Francois scoffed. That was until the distant voice in the basement yelled again. Gemini shined the light in the light reveals dark earth at the bottom of the basement. Some twenty-five feet down, then they spotted stairs leading them down. Old and creaky stairs.
"Well, I'm going down there…" Tony volunteered. Cerise clamped onto his hand saying that she'll go with him.
"What about that stupid truck…" Francois asked
"Then we need someone to look out for it…"
"I'm not going down there…" Gemini spoke.
"We're going to be safe if we all stick together...We're scared too, but our fear isn't worth that helpless person down there…" Tony said
Gemini and Rafael held hands and went after Tony and Cerise. Francois decided to keep lookout.
With their flashlights ready, they slowly began to trek down the stairs. Then they heard squeaking. They quickly looked around for the source of the sound and then Gemini looked down at her feet and screamed.
"SPIDERS…." Gemini began to go hysterical and her panic sent all four of the kids down the basement with their flashlights. They were all in a pile and looked around
"Are you guys okay…" Francois called. They dusted themselves off
"Gemini are you okay…" Rafael went to comfort his shaken friend
"Spiders, I hate spiders, AUGH…" Gemini shook herself off
"Guys we got a bigger problem" Tony pointed up the stairs and they were all broken up, preventing them from a way out.
"How are you guys going to get out of here…" Francois called. the kids stopped as soon as they saw the tarped body.
"Guys...Say something to me…" the group trekked closer to the body.
We found it… Cerise typed on the translator
"Found what," Francois asked
As Rafel reached over to touch it, an arm reached and grabbed him, making him scream. It took Gemini and Cerise to pull the arm away from Rafael. He clung onto Gemini. Cerise hesitant but bravely ripped open the tarp to reveal a dying woman. She was nude and she was bloody. Cerise was in just the same amount of shock as her friends.
The dying woman tried to mutter something to the kids. They all leaned in and tried to listen but she died before the words could get out.
The four kids looked at each other with shock on their faces
"Say something. You guys are scaring the daylights out of me!" Francois called. "Guys, tell me what's going on!"
"We need to get out of here and now…" Tony said, finally.
"Where can we find a way out...cause I don't see any exits we can possibly take…" Gemini replied.
"It's a basement right, there's gotta be some stairs leading up…" Rafael proposed.
Cerise looked around for a way out and she saw some stairs at least 30 ft away leading upstairs and she alerted the others
"Nice find Cerise…" Tony praised. "Alright guys let's stay close" then Rafael ran up to the entrance of the basement
"Francois...Get out to the road, flag down anyone you see, tell them to get the cops out here right away...and if the old truck comes back, scream as loud as you can"
"Aw, you guys stink…" Francois crossed his arms.
Then the kids looked around and they saw a rusted old sewing machine and weapons all around them. And then something dropped from the ceiling. They all gathered around it and saw a rotten tooth then they all looked up and saw the most horrid sight to see. Hundreds and thousands of bodies laid all around.
"Oh my god…" Gemini whispered. As they continued walking, something dropped in front of them and they all jumped. They peered down and saw that there were four sewn up bodies together and they looked at each other.
Francois looked around, not liking the feeling of being alone. Then he saw a truck come by and he ducked out of sight. He peered up and saw that it was only a delivery truck. He walked away until arms grabbed him. He screamed and saw it was only his friends
"Don't scare me like that…" Francois shouted.
"Let's get back to the restaurant and let's get back now…" Tony said, shocked.
'What did you guys see…"
"Bodies...Thousands of them…" Gemini was speechless. Then Francois' eyes widen
Then they rode away as fast as they could to the restaurant. They got to a bench to sit down across the street from it.
"We just have to breathe…" Tony said.
"Oh breathe like we didn't pretend we didn't see a horror grave" Gemini freaked out
Then they are going to see we're all panicked Cerise typed on her translator.
"Cerise is right, we can't look panicked, all we have to do is call the police and it'll be okay…" Rafael agreed
Then they all took a breath and they calmly walked across the street to the restaurant. Then they saw the truck heading in the direction they came from. The children's eyes widened in horror
"They're going back...They're going back...Come on…" they all rushed inside where most of the diners stared at them
"There you guys are…" Linguini rushed to them with Renee in his arms
"Cece…" Renee called reaching for her. Colette rushed outside
"A couple called and told us what happened…"
"Ms. Linguini, Is there a phone around here…" Tony asked.
"We need to call the police and NOW…." Gemini added.
Colette nodded and rushed over to the office and grabbed the phone.
Rafael was luckily calm enough to make the call.
An hour later, the police arrived and questioned the kids
"Are you sure that's what you kids saw…"
"Yes...It's Like, it's like the Bubonic Plague down there…" Tony commented
"Worse than that, it's a horror, grave, everything was stitched together and people were all bloody-and it was like…Oh I don't wanna go back down there again...Blood bodies blood…" Gemini sputtered
"Now you calm down young lady…We'll call back up as soon as we can," a female officer told her
"No Get back up now...Someone might be the next victim…and maybe they're dead, by now…" Tony rambled.
Then the phone rang again. The five kids raced to it and Tony placed it on speakerphone
"Hello," Gemini said
"Have you seen the dogs yet?" a male voice asked "You and your friends…I saw you with lots of dogs"
"Wait who's this and how do you know us…" Francois asked.
"Gemini? Cerise? Tony? Rafael? You know the dogs I'm talking about?" the voice continued.
"Who is this?" Gemini cried
You're wearing a pink shirt with a torn overall dress with matching sunglasses, you have a red-headed friend who almost drowned, wearing a red sweater and a yellow beanie… the boys have bloody knees...Your pink glasses are bent just near your blind left eye…"
The kids were shocked that the man knew about this. Cerise quickly typed on her translator
How do you know us? The translator said
"You found their freak show." the man said
"The what?" the four kids asked
"Those bodies down there in that basement, that's what they like to call it...The freak show."
"We don't know what you're talking about."
I don't know if it's a demon or a devil, or just some hungry thing from some dark place in time...I only know that they're not gonna stop coming after you guys or anyone else they want to because once it has the scent of something they like...it can't... it won't stop...
"What is he saying?" Colette went up to the kids to hear what was going on.
"I saw that awful truck, too…"
"What?"
"All I know is that you kids are in terrible danger-" then the phone cut off.
"Hello...Hello…" Francois called. He turned to the others. "The lines dead…"
"Oh man oh, man...What are we going to do…" Gemini panicked. To make matters worse, the lights went out. The kids didn't notice everyone looking outside.
"We just gotta stay calm and we'll be okay…" Tony consoled his friend. Then Alfredo rushed to the kids.
"Hey...Aren't those your bikes outside…" the kids looked at each other and ran outside followed by a few more people.
"A bunch of people saw those large men from the window...The men there at your bikes."
The kids spotted the bikes were tipped over like cows and there was dirt all over them.
"They were inspecting the bicycles and they were liking them too," Anton Ego added. "And they went that way…" Anton pointed to the right, where the kids were previously.
The police looked at each other with worry.
"They had time to get to the Meat Factory, then back here." Rafael thought out loud
"Those guys are after us! And they're after us 'cause he knows what we saw." Gemini whimpered.
Cerise looked at the bikes and typed on the translator There's something you guys might want to see
The other kids and the police came to where Cerise was and she pointed at a handprint on Tony's bike and footprints around them as well.
Then the police's walkie talkie went off. "Can you kids take us to the meat locker you kids were talking about…"
The kids nodded. They quickly got on their bikes and they rode off with the police going after them
"Be careful guys" Alfredo called. Colette held onto her husband.
The kids rode off for a few hours and then they heard a whoosh. They looked around quickly and they saw nothing.
"How did those guys know we were at the restaurant?"
"What were they doing with our bikes…" then they heard a scream. They turned to see the police car swerving towards him and they jumped off just in time.
The kids perked up and saw that the car was wrecked and the cables were pulled out and the officers were nowhere to be seen.
The kids luckily spotted a car nearby and a man was right beside it
"Sir we need this car-" then the man looked in horror at what he was seeing. He allowed the kids to jump in. They looked and saw the 3 men coming out with one of the police officer's body.
"What are they doing?" Tony asked. Then they laid it down on the ground and started to eat at the body like a pack of hyenas
"Holy…" Gemini whispered. then they heard the man faint. Tony gently opened the door and snagged the keys and quietly started the car. The other kids rowed up the windows.
"I can't reach the pedals...Cerise, can you help me?" Cerise nodded and jumped to the driver's seat. Tony crouched his legs.
The other kids stared in horror, watching the blood and body parts fly.
"Go...GO go go go…" Rafael screamed. Then Cerise pushed the pedal and off the kids went.
"How far is the next town from here?" Francois asked.
"I don't know…"
"Guys look...a house...There's gotta be a phone here...You can stop Cerise…" Tony pulled over to a rural house in the countryside, almost at the edge of the town.
The kids stopped the car and stepped out to find the house really dark. The kids glanced at each other and then Gemini knocked on the door
"Hello? Is anyone there?" Gemini called.
"Anyone there, we need help...We're being chased right now and we need help-" Tony started
"Who are you?" a raspy voice asked. They looked around to see who said that and they look at an elderly couple, around their 50's staring at them through their window.
"I said, "Who are you and what are you doing here?" the wife asked
"M-mam I'm Gemini and these are my friends Cerise, Tony, Francois, and Rafael...We need a phone…" Gemini spoke kindly
"What for?" the husband asked
"We need to call the police...We're in very big trouble… the Paris police..." Rafael added
"That's in the city...you're in Bourges…" the wife explained
"And we don't got a phone...Don't think about bringing ' em here...trying to tell us how many dogs we can have…" the husband added.
On cue, there was barking and whining and whimpering.
"How-How many dogs do you have?" Tony asked. Cerise clamped onto him
"More than a couple…"
"Someone was killed...Police officers"
Then the couple started to get alert. "Where…"
"Near the highway…" then the dogs started to bark.
"These puppies don't like strangers," the wife said. Then the dogs began to bark agitatedly. They didn't like what was outside. Some even started to growl
"Something's wrong…" Francois whispered to the others.
"You guys bring anyone else with you?" The husband asked.
The kids counted each other off but then they slowly turned around to spot the three dark figures posing as scarecrows
"Those aren't our scarecrows honey…" The wife told her husband. They ran inside as the kids stared at the figures. The couple came back out with guns in their hands
"Y'all got ten seconds to get your asses out of our yard!" the wife yelled. The figures didn't move a muscle.
"Don't make my wife tell you twice." the husband added. When their guns cocked, Tony tried to stop them but they shot at one of them and the figures went flying into the house, endangering the dogs inside.
"Get away from them...THey're dangerous…" Gemini ran off to them but the husband swung his rifle at her, knocking her to the ground
"What did you bring to our house…" the husband yelled at the kids.
"We gotta get out of here…" Tony called to them. The husband went inside first. The wife turned to them
"You kids run...We'll deal with these bastards...Get away from our pups…" the wife yelled, running after her husband not before giving Tony two loaded flare guns.
The kids took off for the car and they heard POW POW. they stopped and turned around
"Sir mam…" Francois called. Nothing was heard. Then a creaking sound was heard. They had a bit of hope when they saw the silhouettes of the couple but they were horrified to see them dead hanging by the men's clawed hands.
"Aww" Rafael moaned. Then Cerise took Tony's second flare gun and aimed it at them. Bravery was in her face and with one shot, she got one of them in the arm. It squealed and revealed wings and the others squealed in anger, spreading their wings. Tony and Cerise shot at their wings and they ran into the car. Gemini got in the driver's seat with Francois working the pedals.
She and the monsters locked eyes. She began to drive. The monsters tried to jump but they ended up being run over by the girl. The kids heard bones crunching and Gemini ran them over 5 times before taking off
"Hit it.." Then Francois hit the gas and they took off farther and farther away from the monsters.
Then they finally arrived at the police station. The police were alerted by the kids
"Hello we need help and we need it now…"
"Okay okay Settle down, What your names?" the office behind the desk asked.
"Gemini, Cerise, Tony Rafael, and Francois…" Francois told the officer
"Kids…" they turned to see a man around his mid-20s approaching the 5 children. He had tan skin and he wore a tee-shirt, sweatpants, and sneakers.
"Michael...What are you doing here?" the officer asked
Cerise, Gemini, Tony, Rafael, and Francois….Michael Eli Hart how do you do…" the girls quickly curtseyed and the boys nodded their heads. "I really need to talk to you, if you could just spare me a minute.
"Michael here likes to think he's the resident psychic around here...He helped us on a missing person case-" the officer rolled her eyes
"Do you think I could just talk to these children by myself?" Michael snapped.
"You go home, turn off that police decoder, and go to bed."
"You got missing people and a fire in the next county...Go do something useful."
"Michael, I mean it, leave them alone." Michael rolled his eyes
"You don't have to believe I'm don't have to believe a word I say. But I've come a long way to see you, kids….You found all those bodies...down in that cellar. I saw them, too."
"HOW?" the kids asked
"I-I Dreamed it...I dream of a lot of things. Have you seen the dogs yet? I saw you with all those dogs, too."
The restaurant. That was you. You're the one that called us. Cerise typed in her translator
I need you to listen and not talk, OK? Truth is, I'd be lying if I said I knew
that telling you this would do any good." Michael spoke
"Any good?" Rafael asked. Gemini held onto him.
"Every 35th spring...for 35 days...They get to... eat."
"Eat?" Gemini asked.
"You've seen and known what they eat, and don't you make me tell You think I like having all this in my head? Well, I don't. I don't like knowing this, and not knowing why I do." Michael continued
"You said it eats?" Francois asked
"Only certain things... ...from certain people."
" Just get away from him." the officer said.
"It eats lungs so it can breathe...and eyes so it can all becomes a part of it eats...becomes a part of it. You hurt them, out there on the road...but only as much as they can be hurt.' Cause it can keep on eating till it isn't hurt anymore. You guys got something it likes, two of you. And it's not gonna stop chasing You guys till it knows which one they like most."
"How do they find out and what does that mean for us…"
"They need to scare you...There's something in fear, something they can smell and sense. Something that tells them if there's anything inside someone that they might... like."
"Wait...all of that llama drama just to smell fear…." Gemini asked.
Then the lights shut off on the station. Michael stared at them with horror.
"They're here…You kids wanna come with me?"
"Don't you dare Michael...I swear it...I will lock you up…"
"I hear music playing while two of you are down in the dark somewhere. Screaming the last scream you'll ever scream!" Michael warned.
"Who...Do you know who's going to die…" Gemini asked him. Michael glanced at Cerise and Tony who were holding hands.
"I'm gonna get you, kids, out of here. Come on, Come on" he dragged the kids away while they heard gunshots.
The police tried to deal with the 3 monsters and they were failing
The kids and Michael ran until they saw a dead end.
"Oh no…" Tony said.
"It's blocked…" Gemini said jiggling at the door
"It's an emergency exit." then they saw 3 silhouettes coming towards them
"GET UPSTAIRS NOW!" Michael yelled and the kids took off with no haste.
They smelled Michael and they went past him. Michael looked up where the kids were heading and he ran to try and shut off the alarm system
"Come on come on…" the kids ran and found a dead end and found that a room nearby windows were their only haven. They all went inside and locked the doors.
Then Banging was heard and the kids huddled in the corner. Then the monsters burst in, slowly approaching them, One of them grabbed Cerise, the other one grabbed tony and Francois and the leader grabbed Rafel and Gemini and they started to sniff the children they even started to lick them, grossing out Gemini.
Then the other two monsters tossed Cerise, Francois, and Tony and chose Gemini and Rafael. Then they all squealed...Finally finding their targets.
The police arrived and held out their guns. Two monsters held their hostages and large horns coming out of their heads, scaring Gemini and Rafael further.
"Take us…" Francois called to the monsters. Tony and Cerise clamped onto Francois
"You don't want them...Whatever you want, you can take it from us. You don't want Gemini and Rafe. No, you don't."
"Don't you guys do it…" Gemini screamed while Rafael shook his head.
"We won't fight you, You can take us 3. We're stronger. You want us. Let them go and take us." Francois pleaded.
Then the monsters began to take off
"You let them go!" Tony screamed. Then the monsters flew off with the two kids. The police tried to shoot at them but it was no use.
"GEMINI…RAFAEL…" Tony and Francois screamed. Cerise was in front of them reaching for them. She grabbed the flare gun and she tried to shoot but she was out of their range and out of ammo. The three kids stared out into the night sky where Gemini and Rafael were taken.
The next morning, an abandoned amusement park was shown. Distant screaming was heard from the haunted house. The darker it was, the louder the screaming went.
The monsters had blood all over their mouths and they went over to their recent bodies. Gemini and Rafael were motionless with their hand's clamps together...and their eyes missing and blood all over them
Then Tony came out and roared at the kids...Making Cerise and Rafael jumped.
"The end…" Tony finished.
"I don't like the ending," Gemini said, crossing her arms
"I don't either but I kinda like the creativity…" Rafael added
"He told us this story last year…" Francois groaned.
Cerise then typed on her translator. I like it...It was pretty scary...Can we eat our candy now?
"Oh yeah, Let's dig in." Tony sat down next to Cerise. She scooted closer to him and ate her candy with him. All of the kids ate their candy, not caring what time it was and not knowing that their parents came to pick them up, leaving an amazing day behind and bringing in another day.
