Little Witch Academia: The Demon Egg

Chapter 1: Misadventures of the Red Team

It was the afternoon time when classes were over and the young witches of Luna Nova were free to do as they pleased. Some took time to have fun, study, or eat. And most of them decided to eat since it was dinner time. Half the school gathered at the cafeteria eating whatever the trolls and goblin employees provided.

Which were mashed potatoes, vegetables, and molasses.

"What the hell?" Amanda O'Neill grumbled as she was poking at her food. She glanced over at the other Green Team members and how they were doing. Constanze Braunschbank Albrechtsberger put the plate of food in her custom made microwave to heat it up and Jasminka Antonenko was already halfway done even though they all just got their food two minutes ago.

"Why do they always give us trash to eat!?" Amanda snarled. "I swear they literally don't care anymore!"

"Well I hope there will be delicious food in the banquet we are having next week," Jasminka said as she was chowing down on the mashed potatoes.

"Oh right. I forgot we had that. Some special witch is coming over or something right?"

Constanze shrugged and then Stan-bot spoke for her. "She is said to be a very skilled witch that we are supposed to welcome with honor."

Amanda ruled her eyes. "What did she do that was so important? Did she create a field of potatoes to send to the school or something? Because I swear I'm gonna kill someone with a potato!"

"The witch who will be coming is someone of great respect."

Amanda turned around to see Diana standing behind her with her usual high and mighty expression. Standing by her side was of course her lackeys Hannah and Barbara with their annoying cocky smiles.

"The witch who will be coming is Vanessa of the Grey Mounds!" stated Hannah.

"She is a legendary witch who is known for sealing away magical beasts! There was the time she sealed away a hydra before it destroyed Niagara Falls!" Barbara said.

Amanda rolled her eyes. "Like I care! Anyway, why are you bugging us, Princess?"

"No reason," Diana flipped her hair back. "I just heard you spouting disrespectful nonsense out loud as usual and as a part of my job I am to silence you."

"What are you, my mother?"

Diana sighed. "Your very existence is just trouble. Speaking of trouble…"

Diana scanned the entire table and realized there were three empty seats.

"Where is the Red Team?"

"Oh yeah! That dunce Akko and her loser friends!" Barbara snickered. "She's usually eating here with the rest of you. Where is she?"

"Yeah, I wanna make fun of her. My afternoon won't feel the same without doing so," Hannah said while checking her nails.

Amanda shrugged. "I have no clue. Maybe they are not hungry."

Diana shook her head. "As far as I'm concerned they are probably out causing trouble…"

"Guys I really don't think this a good idea!" Lotte said to her friends who were in the middle of the room. If anyone else was there in the room they would see that they were doing something strange.

The wooden floor in the middle of the room was painted over a purple magic circle with a glowing purple crystal ball. Sitting in the middle of the magic circle and hovering over the crystal ball was Sucy Manbavaran who was humming in a different language and wearing a glowing purple headset.

Standing next to her, running around and being an annoyance was Akko Kagari who was also wearing a magical headset but it was red.

"How is it going Sucy?!" Akko bent down and yelled right into the pale girl's ear. "Are they there yet!?"

Sucy grumbled. "They just went down the hallway. They should be heading into the dining hall now. Which is gonna be difficult with everyone in there."

"Just don't bump into anyone! As long as the invisibility spell is on them they should be okay!"

"Guys!"

Akko and Sucy turned to their nervous-looking friend Lotte Jansson who was sitting at the desk.

"We shouldn't do this! If we get caught then we'll be in serious trouble!"

"We won't!" Akko reassured Lotte by placing a hand on her shoulder. "This is full proof! And soon we will be stuffing our faces! No more potatoes tonight!"

"To be fair this is probably Akko's best idea yet," Sucy said, "Creating the gremlins was my idea but using undetectable magic on them was her suggestion."

Akko hummed to herself feeling happy over Sucy's praise.

"Honestly that's like the first good idea she has ever come up with since coming to this school."

Akko stopped humming and turned to Sucy with an angry expression.

"That's going too far!"

"But if we get caught-" Lotte tried to say but Akko cut her off.

"We won't! This plan is foolproof! Now here," Akko held an orange glowing headset to Lotte. The Finnish girl sighed in defeat and took the headset from her friend. Once she had it on she walked over to the middle of the room where Sucy was watching the progress of their little gremlins.

"H-how many gremlins did you make again?" Lotte asked Sucy.

Sucy replied, "Just three. I gave them a magical boost of strength so that they will be able to hold up the food we want and I put a spell that anything they hold will turn invisible with them so nobody will see floating food and get suspicions."

"No one is going to notice three missing meals out of the hundreds they made!" Akko stated. "I saw it for myself when Professor Finnelan forced me to clean the kitchen. It's a crapload of food! It could feed a whole country!"

"All that food is for some event happening in a week or so I believe," Sucy explained before Lotte could ask the question. "Some important witch is coming over to the school."

"Then why don't we...you know...just be patiently wait for the celebration…?" Lotte suggested.

Akko shook her head. "No way! We are always the last ones to get the food when big stuff like this happens and we get the scraps! Students like Diana go first and they take all the good stuff! Screw that! We are going to be taking the good stuff before the celebration even begins! Because that's what you call a pro-gamer move!"

After saying all of that Akko posed in the most ridiculous fashion but she believed she looked cool enough to be an anime. Lotte just stared at her blankly and Sucy cringed at Akko's horrible pose.

"Stop acting like an idiot and look at this," Sucy took out a fancy looking menu. "Last time I was able to sneak into the kitchen I was able to list all the food that was in there."

"Wait…" Akko pointed at Sucy. "If you were in the kitchen listing the food why didn't you take any around that time!? When was this!? Because you and I planned this thing like three days ago!"

"It was the day after you told me your plan. But I couldn't take any of the food because Professor Lukić was there with me. We were fixing up potions for the class in the kitchen."

"Alright, whatever! Let me see that menu!"

Akko took the menu from Sucy and stared at it in awe at the good options.

"Oh~! The apple crisp looks good! Maybe the ham soufflé?...Nah I'm not feeling meat. Apple crisp it is! What are you getting Sucy?"

"You already know," Sucy looked up in the air daydreaming blissfully. "That mushroom stew is mine~..."

"Of course of course. What about you Lotte?"

Lotte shook her head and hands. "No no no! None for me thank you! I'm not hungry and I don't wanna get in trouble-"

"They have blueberry pie," Akko read off of the menu.

Then faster than the speed of light Lotte went over to Sucy and clutched her shoulders yelling, "THAT PIE IS MINE!"

"Wow…" Akko said while looking bewildered at Lotte's sudden emotional change.

"Wow indeed…" Sucy grunted as she felt like Lotte was gonna rip her shoulders apart.

"LAST TIME I TRIED TO GET ONE AVERY TOOK THE LAST PIECE! I'M NOT LOSING THIS CHANCE! SUCY! MAKE THE GREMLINS GET THE PIE PLEAAAASSEEE! HURRRRRYYY!"

"Lotte...you have a headset...you can just order them to take the pie…"

"O-oh yeah…" Lotte let go of Sucy and blushed in embarrassment. She spoke into the mic of her headset with a very low voice, "Can you get me a blueberry pie, please? Thank you."

"Apple crisp!"

"Mushroom stew."

Entering the dining hall, stealthily but quietly were the three gremlins that Sucy created. No one could see them but I'll describe their appearance. They looked like small miniature goblins but with white skin with purple lines. They had small tails and moved like mice. They zoomed past multiple tables and dodged many students' feet. After almost a fifteen-minute journey through the large dining hall, the three invisible gremlins finally entered the kitchen.

Sucy grinned seeing their progress on the crystal ball.

Akko jumped for joy and cheered, "Yes! They're in!" She then fell on the ground and her headset came off. As it collided with the floor it got busted.

The brunette witch picked it up and whined. "Dang! I think I broke the headset! Sucy~!"

Sucy ignored her. "You broke it, you deal with it."

"I hope those gremlins do what they're told and don't do anything unnecessary," Lotte said while still looking worried.

Akko put her headset back on and chuckled. "Come on Lotte! They're just taking three things! It's not like we told them to take all of the food."

T-take all of the food…

That's what the three gremlins heard from Akko's headset. Since they didn't hear the words before they took the words they did hear as a new order.

Take all of the food.

"How is everything?" Professor Finnelan asked Professor Badcock.

"Everything should be okay," the professor answered. "We've been preparing this food for a long time so everything should be good."

"That's wonderful. Vanessa the Witch of Grey Mounds will be pleased. Let's check on the food."

The two professors went into the kitchen while everyone was eating. They went straight for the large red with golden edges refrigerator that contained all of the food they had cooked up since last week…

...which was gone.

The whole refrigerator was gone.

Professor Badcock's eyes nearly popped out of her sockets and Professor Finnelan just stood there shaking.

"B-Badcock…?"

"Y-yes…?"

"...where is the refrigerator…?"

"...your guess is as good as mine…"

"OWW!"

The two professors heard the scream of a student coming from the dining hall. They ran out and saw that Blair was on the ground covered in...gravy?

"What was that!?" she yelled.

And then what followed after was just tables and students being pushed aside from a powerful invisible force and food appearing out of nowhere and making a mess in the dining hall.

"Wait...that food…" Professor Finnelan took out her wand. "That's the food!"

"Uh oh."

Akko and Lotte heard the "uh oh" from Sucy turned around in worry of what had happened.

"W-what's wrong?" Lotte asked.

"I think we've been caught."

"WHAT!?" Akko ran to Sucy and stared into the crystal ball. "HOW DID WE GET CAUGHT! THEIR INVISIBLE AND THEY SHOULD'VE TAKEN THREE THINGS!"

"I don't know what happened but the teachers are gaining on us," Sucy took out her wand and waved it. "Guess I have to activate the self-destruction spell to destroy any evidence."

"Self-destruction!?" Akko yelled.

D-d-d-d-destruction!?

D-destruction!?

DESTRUCTION!?

DESTRUCTION

Those were the new commands the three gremlins heard as Professor Finnelan and Professor Badcock were getting close to their spot.

"Where is-?"

At that moment the three gremlins exposed themselves and hissed like agitated cats at Finnelan. The stern teacher growled.

"Gremlins!? Who is responsible for this!?"

She aimed her wand at one of the gremlins and fired a beam of magic to destroy it…

But the beam didn't even make a dent on its target. The gremlins out of nowhere then grew to human size becoming even taller than everyone in the dining hall and having massive muscles. With one hand the monstrous gremlin blocked Finnelan's magical beam.

Professor Finnelan started to sweat in nervousness. "Oh, dear…"

"DESTROY!" The three gremlins roared as they attacked Professor Finnelan and Badcock. The students in the dining hall then started to scream out in terror as the gremlins tore everything apart in their storm of chaos.

The Red Team who was safe in their dorm watched the whole thing transpire from the crystal ball.

"...Sucy?" Akko looked at her pale friend.

"...yes?"

"What is that?"

"That might be the defense spell I placed on the gremlins."

"Huh!?" Lotte yelled. "Why did you give them a defense spell!? They might hurt someone!"

Sucy responded nonchalantly, "I always did that for all of my creations. Especially back at home to protect my things from my annoying siblings."

"What kind of home do you live in!?" Lotte continued to yell as she was gripping her hair in despair.

"Guys look!"

Akko got the attention of her two friends as she was pointing at the crystal ball. The scene before was getting more intense.

Now in the dining hall, there were even more professors with wands fighting the gremlins. Some students joined the fight while others ran for it.

One of the gremlins was holding up Professor Finnelan while yelling "destroy destroy!" and the teacher hopelessly looked to anyone who could save her since she lost her wand when she was grabbed.

"SOMEONE GET THIS INFERNAL CREATURE TO LET GO OF ME!"

He was about to slam the poor old professor to the ground until-

"Scrylla!"

The beast stopped in mid place as if frozen in time. Standing before him was his opponent, Diana Cavendish looking rather intimidating. With the chance she was given, Professor Finnelan got out of the gremlin's hands and retrieved her wand that was on the ground.

"Murowa!" Professor Finnelan yelled and the beast was hit with a magical beam right at its chest. It fell to the ground for one second but immediately bounced back up with his other two comrades.

"This spells won't work!" Professor Finnelan cursed. "We need to make them weaker!"

Diana spoke up. "I have a suggestion. What about the nullification spell?"

Professor Finnelan nodded, "Yes that might work! Can you do it with me, Miss Cavendish?"

"Yes ma'am."

Diana and Professor Finnelan crossed their wands together as a bright golden light spewed from them.

"Ein Ein Sof," chanted Diana.

"Ein Sof Ohr," chanted Finnelan.

Then both of them yelled, "LUNA LANA!"

A stream of golden magical light captured the three monstrous gremlins and then they shrank down back to their normal size. With the defiance spell taking up most of their energy they fell asleep where they lay.

The students and teachers praised Finnelan and Diana for their success.

"Now...to find out where these creatures came from…"

Professor Finnelan conjured a spell that created green glowing magical footprints that led out of the dining hall. Finnelan followed them and so did the other professors and literally every student in the dining hall.

"Oh crap," Akko said as she realized where they were all heading. Lotte looked as though she was going to faint but Sucy casually went over to the closet and took out three white cloaks.

"Welp," she tossed the cloaks to each individual, keeping one for herself. "Time for plan C."

Lotte looked at Sucy. "Which is?"

"Runaway," Akko answered as she placed the cloak on.

"Huh!? We're running!? To where!?"

"I was thinking of Doras Hill. Maybe the Fairy Kingdom will let us stay for at least three days until everyone in school forgets about this whole thing."

"I doubt they would!"

"It's better than staying here and facing the wrath of the three-headed Finnelan dragon. So put your cloak on so Sucy can teleport us."

Lotte groaned but did as she was told. Once everyone had their cloaks on, Sucy took out her wand and started to chant.

"These are invisibility cloaks I got from the Last Wednesday Society. We could've used this to take the food but what would that do? People would see floating food and we would instantly be caught. The gremlins were our best bet but they ended up being more trouble than they're worth. So it's Doras Hill then. Everyone get close to me and I'll teleport us. Vera Gurasare."

With that Akko, Lotte, and Sucy disappeared from their room just as Professor Finnelan and everybody else was approaching their dorm. Finnelan recognized the room door and her face morphed into a monster's thanks to her anger.

"Of course it's those three…"

"Um...Finnelan? Maybe we should send the kids back?" Professor Badcock nervously suggested but Finnelan was too deep in her anger to hear.

Seeing where this was going Diana sighed and shook her head.

"The foolishness of those girls never cease to amaze me."

Hannah and Barbara snickered knowing that they were going to be in serious trouble.

"This is gonna be good~!"

Finnelan finally made it to the Red Team's dorm. She took a deep breath and then busted the door wide open.

"YOU GIRLS HAVE A LOT OF NER-"

But she was met with an empty room. She went inside and searched every corner but there was no three misfit witches' insight. Finnelan came back out with an even more pissed off expression.

"WHERE ARE THOSE THREE!? SEARCH THE SCHOOL GROUNDS!"

The Red Team teleported to the corner of the New Moon Tower. They went behind the tower to meet something covered in a gray sheet waiting for them.

"What is that?" Lotte asked.

"I set it up here last night," Sucy replied as she took the sheet off. Standing before the girls was a gray dragon but Lotte recognized it immediately.

"That's one of Lord Fafnir's fake dragons! You stole it!?"

"No," Sucy shook her head while smiling. "I just borrowed it without his permission."

"Can all three of us ride on that thing?" Akko questioned.

"It should be able to. Come on let's go."

Akko was the first to jump on the back of the dragon, then Sucy, then Lotte as the final person. With Sucy's command the dragon lifted off and the three started flying in the air. However, thanks to the invisibility cloaks they were wearing it would only look like the dragon was flying on its own.

"Look!" Avery yelled as she pointed up to the sky to see the gray dragon.

"What is one of Fafnir's dragons doing here!?" Professor Finnelan said aloud as pushed across students and staff members to go outside. Everyone else then followed after her.

Everyone was outside to see the dragon flying over the campus. No one knew what was going on as they stared in awe but Diana practically had a good idea of what it was. She smirked and went over to Avery.

"Avery."

"Y-yes Diana?" Avery replied.

Diana then whispered in her ear and the girl returned it with a smile.

"Hannah, Barbara, over here."

Hannah and Barbara followed Diana's orders and came over. Then following Diana's lead they took out their wands and pointed at the dragon.

"Paleis Capama!"

The gray dragon was then contained in a green magical bubble and slowly starting to descend down.

"What are you doing Miss Cavendish!?" Professor Finnelan said in confusion about Diana's actions.

"Look, professor!" Diana pointed up in the sky as the dragon was falling.

On the dragon's back, Akko was clutching onto Sucy.

"WHAT'S GOING ON?! WHY ARE WE FALLING!?"

"THAT STUCK-UP DIANA USED A SPELL TO DEACTIVATE THE FLYING MECHANISM OF THE DRAGON! WE'RE SCREWED!"

"OH NO!" Lotte screamed as she closed her eyes.

"DON'T WORRY I GOT IT!"

Akko stood upon the dragon's back and took out her wand. She pointed at the ground and yelled, "TIA FREYRE!"

A magical floor appeared below them, it was meant to stop them from hitting the ground. But for some reason, the floor had the same properties as rubber so when the dragon hit the magical floor it stretched...and then bounced back up even higher.

"WHAT THE HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLL!?"

The scream of Akko could be heard as it got higher and higher. Then a few seconds later the scream of all three girls was coming back down.

"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!-"

*BAM*

The three girls collided with the ground making goofy silhouettes of them. The three got out of the hole to meet the entire school of Luna Nova peering down at them.

Professor Finnelan was the first to approach and rolled her sleeves. She had an evil look on her face as stared daggers at the girls.

"Found you~..."

The Red Team shivered in fear.

"So...uh...how was everyone's dinner…?...we didn't go down so…"

"Just shut up Akko."
