The Burnland's were all under the influence of some type of paranoia after the bodies of more than one of their pack had been found. While the younger members of the pack had been kept away from the knowledge that their first dead beta had been labelled dead only after their alpha had gotten the head that had been sent they were told about the others. Of course they were all told to keep an eye out, to be cautious, but most of the adults and teenagers had jobs or school that put them on a schedule. Time tables and habits that made it easy to determine the best time and place to grab them without a fuss. It was just all about picking the right moment.
As much as Stiles would have preferred a faster approach instead of stalking one beta at a time waiting for the perfect opportunity he could admit that while time consuming it is the smart move for the time being. That didn't mean he had to like it, and though he didn't really complain beyond a bit of grumbling both Peter and Chris knew he was wishing for things to move at a faster pace. First up was Robert Burnland, the eldest of the Alphas brothers. A mid range skeezy lawyer who had both cops and judges on his payroll. Basically that made him a two for one deal as far as they had been concerned a blood relative along with a useful piece on the chessboard that would significantly benefit them because there was no way Robert hadn't told the cops under his thumb to keep an eye out for any suspicious newcomers.
It was at seven in the evening on a Tuesday that found Stiles following Robert or Dick as he had taken to calling him after they had started looking into the thirty year old beta. Stiles felt it was an appropriate name for someone who not only took part in unsavory business in both the human and supernatural worlds. The streets weren't overly busy but they also weren't completely empty allowing the seventeen year old to easily tail the older man as he was heading for his dinner reservation. A couple streets away was an alleyway that housed Peter up on the roof of one of the buildings waiting to drop down from above while Chris was playing getaway driver waiting for the go ahead after the wolf is disabled. Moving to close the distance left between them Stiles let his hand rest on the augmented stun gun in his jacket pocket. There was an opportune lull in the crowd now thanks to the hack Stiles had done into the traffic system leaving both the lights running perpendicularly before and directly after the alleyway green making it impossible for any pedestrians to cross and see something they shouldn't.
With Dick just starting to cross in front of the open alleyway Stiles broke into a jog muttering a quick, "Shit I'm gonna be late for work" to keep the wolf from suspecting something from the fast approaching footsteps. Leaning down a bit to set his shoulder to hit a bit under the left shoulder blade and give the shove more momentum in getting the man further into the alley. There was a soft "oof" from the elder who hadn't been expecting the hit as he stumbled cursing into the dark and dank alley. Upon gathering his bearings Dick turned to face Stiles with a scowl on his face mouth already open to hurl out profanities but he didn't get the chance to make so much as a sound before he was hit with the stun gun causing him to drop. "Now." Stiles said into his ear piece as Peter dropped down from above. It took all of thirty seconds for Peter to pick up the wolf letting Stiles snap on a pair of mountain ash reinforced handcuffs to keep the lawyer's hands behind his back as Chris rolled to a stop in front of them. Stiles opened the back door for Peter to toss the other wolf in before climbing in after him.
Looking both ways Stiles closed the back door before climbing in the front allowing the light to change to red after they had passed it. "Keep an eye on him Peter. That'll only keep him down for so long." Stiles said without bothering to turn his head to look into the backseat, instead trusting the wolf to watch both his and Chris' backs. Trusting in his ability to protect them both from the beta the had just kidnapped. "Of course." Peter replied before maneuvering himself above the prone wolf one hand to his throat placing bearing his weight down with a knee on either leg. A few minutes later a groan rang out in the otherwise silent car as Robert tried to move his arms only to find he couldn't causing his eyes to snap open and a snarl to escape his mouth. "Fucking hunters", he snarled out spitting in Peter's face afterwards.
"Not quite" Peter said calmly before going full beta shift lunging forward growling lowly in his throat. Wide eyes stared back at him in disbelief before Stiles tore the captured wolf's attention away with an even, "Enough Peter." Allowing the shift to fade away Peter slowly pulled his face away leaving his hand against the other wolf's neck loud growl still rumbling in his chest. "Why are you doing this? Who the fuck are you people?" Robert asked as Stiles turned towards the backseat. Face void of emotion all the boy gave him was one word, "Retribution." Before turning back to face the front asking Chris, "How far away are we?" With a glance at the boy out of the corner of his eye he responded with a simple, "We're only five minutes out."
"Good."
"Why are you listening to them? They're fucking humans they're below us they don't even matter. You could break that kid in half yet you listen to him like he's an Alpha." Roaring into the captured wolf's face Peter snarled out, "Listen to me carefully you piece of shit that boy you say I can break in half? He is my alpha so show a little mother fucking respect." The car slowed to a stop outside the same place that Keith had lost his life in both Stiles and Chris exiting the vehicle before opening up both rear doors. Chris unholstered one of his guns putting it to Dick's head, "Don't move." Robert froze eyes wide allowing Peter to slink out the door Stiles had opened before he pulled the other wolf boards him by his legs dropping them to hit the desert floor before grabbing his jacket lapels hoisting him the rest of the way out of the car.
