Planning a Vacation

After nearly a month of traveling by cart, once again the team reached the outskirts of Kaede's Village, and were all pleasantly surprised at what they saw. The village, while not complete, was blooming with construction and people building. It was amazing what all was being shown. Winches lifting up heavy beams, metals being furnished into newer model stoves and ovens, and reservoirs being dug to connect the river and lake to the crops.

"Wow, look at all the construction going on here...!" Kagome admired, "I didn't expect so much to be done by the time we got back!" "All these people..." Kaname pointed out,

"They're not villagers of Kaede's Village. Where did they all come from?" "Kasasagi Town, Kaname," Kaede explained from the side getting the attentions of the others, "When Sesshomaru enrolled Rin into the college Michiru funded there, the city decided to thank Michiru for supplying them with a new source of a plethora of income, so Rin mentioned to them our own village being in disrepair. They sent carpenters, blacksmiths, furniture makers, healers, farmers, and anybody they could spare to help."

"That's excellent!" Michiru said as a thought occurred to him as he then whispered, "Wait, Kaede, they don't know about that...giant potato under the foundation of your house, do they?"

"No, Michiru," Kaede answered knowing the importance of keeping such a thing a secret, "I vowed that no one would discover the small electrical system you set up in my house that's connected to that giant potato you grew for me, and I intend to keep that promise."

"Good," Michiru nodded, "Even though you shouldn't have any at all, I figured just having one place that runs on electricity would be useful in our war with demonkind."

"With all the help you're getting here, Kaede's Village will be back in operation in no time!" InuYasha smiled, "Probably will be up and running by the time we get back!"

"Get back? What do you..." But then Kaede noticed Sango in the cart and frowned, "Sango? Whatever are you doing here? You weren't there when the others returned, and you never crossed through the Well. How are you here?"

As realization hit the group that Sango being here really didn't fit, a nervous giggle began to work its way to their mouths. "Perhaps we'd all...better get inside and talk about it..." Michiru suggested. "Yeah..." Sango agreed, "That's a...good idea..."

"I see..." Kaede nodded, "A perverted demon so powerful he can read women's minds that he controls, send to times to fetch other lovely girls that his powers discover, and bring them here..." Scratching her chin thoughtfully, she looked at the group, "Thank goodness you discovered a weakness to his regeneration powers. I'd hate to think what would've happened if he had read any further."

"That's for sure," Michiru nodded, "Had he delved deeper into Kagome or Kaname's minds, he probably would've been kidnapping young and pretty Hollywood actresses left and right!"

"Speaking of modern worlds, perhaps you'd better be getting back home," Shippo suggested, "Sango's still pregnant, and the modern world has better treatment for her there."

"Yes, let us be on our way," Sango agreed, "Right now, a modern era armchair or bed would feel really good."

"Quite so, my dear," Michiru nodded as he helped her up, "Let's get you home now, I'm looking forward to holding Kanna, Michigo, and Sanru again."

"As am I," Sango smiled, "Although I was hesitant at first, the bonding of breastfeeding our daughters felt so special, and I miss it."

"Then let's go ba- Wait...Sango, you can't jump in the Well!" Kagome proclaimed, "You're pregnant again! It would hurt the child inside you! And Shippo or Kirara can't lift us out either, it's too small for them in their flying forms."

Realization once again hitting, all the others groaned at the fact that Kagome was right. They had to go back, but they couldn't send Sango through the Well and risk hurting their child. They wracked their brains to think of a solution. Then Shippo looked outside and pointed.

"Wait, you guys! The winches! The cranes!" He yelled out excitedly, "If we convince some workers to work someplace else or take a break, we can borrow one, strap Sango to it, and then lower her gently inside!"

The group thought about this thinking it was a good idea, when all of a sudden Miroku frowned.

"How would you get her back out once you complete the transition?" He pointed out, "You can take her there, but you can't get her out easily."

"Then we send Shippo first," InuYasha explained, "Once Shippo completes the transition, he can transform into a winch and crane and lift Sango out of the Well.

"Right, good plan," Michiru nodded, "Miroku? You stay here and keep guard again. Shippo will join you as soon as Sango's back up safely."

As Miroku nodded in agreement, having very little interest in the modern world to begin with, Shippo bounded back to the Bone Eater's Well and went back. While he was waiting, the team set up the crane over the Well, strapped Sango up, then lowered her down carefully as the light signaling the transition flared. They waited an additional three minutes for Sango to strap herself back in and Shippo to pull her out, then they all jumped in one at a time. As soon as the transition was complete, with the details of it becoming so common for them, they climbed back out.

"Guess you'd better pay your respects, Kagome," Michiru gestured to the grave of her grandfather in the backyard, "Kaname and I will take Sango back to my parents' place."

"Thank you," Kagome smiled with a polite bow of her head as the trio left the yard for the bus stop. Once the bus arrived, Michiru took Sango to an area with a wider space to accommodate for her pregnancy. After nearly a quarter of an hour, they all arrived at Kururugi Shrine bus stop and got off. They made their way up the stairs and ringed the doorbell.

After a minute, the door opened as Kanna's eyes wen wide in delight!

"Mommy! Daddy! Auntie Kaname!" She squealed, "Boy and I glad to see you!"

"What?!" A voice cried from the house as Mrs. Kururugi came to the door her eyes going wide in surprise, "Sango!"

She rushed over and scooped her daughter tightly tears streaming down her eyes, "There you are! I was so worried! I left to go to the garage to get some more potting soil, and you were gone! I thought you had been kidnapped."

"She was kidnapped," Michiru explained with more than a hint of hostility in his voice, "By a demon that forced her with mind control powers to have sex with Kaname, Kagome, and other girls,"

"Dear me! How crude!" Mrs. Kururugi gasped, "I hope you did away with him nicely!"

"If chopping off all his heads, ensuring they wouldn't grow back, leaving him without a mouth or nose to breath with, and watching him suffocate to death qualifies as 'nicely,' then Michiru, InuYasha, and Sesshomaru did just that!" Kaname smirked proudly, "But now for some good news, mother, InuYasha and I are going to be together forever!"

"That's wonderful, Kaname!" Mrs. Kururugi smiled, "But for right now, I have to tell the police that Sango came back home! We'll just...have to tell them that she got lost in the woods near our house."

"Right, you do that, mother," Michiru nodded, "While Sango and I go see Michigo and Sanru again."

"Yes, my babies!" Sango smiled as she followed her husband upstairs pulling Kanna up by holding her hand gently. As soon as they were up the stairs, they opened the door to find their beloved babies once again flat on their backs, fast asleep, and sawing twigs.

"Oh, they're so precious...!" Sango sighed with a tear streaming down her eyes.

"Yes..." Michiru agreed sadly as he sighed, "...too bad I have to do a lot of research while I'm here..."

"Yes..." Sango sobbed, "If only there was some way you could study and spend time with the babies at the same time..."

The married couple sighed sadly, as Kaname came up hearing the last bit. It was all the more sad. She'd be free to spend time with InuYasha and her new sister, Kagome, but Michiru had a lot of work and training to do. He needed access to a library, a training area, and a gym, but...sadly there wasn't any place where he could do all that...

"Wait a minute...!" Kaname exclaimed as a thought occurred to her, "Wait, there IS something you all could do together!"

"What?" Michiru spoke at his sister's declaration.

"Yes!" Kaname spoke, "Why don't you all go on a cruise?!"

"What?" Michiru cried, "Kaname, be serious!"

"I am being serious!" Kaname protested, "Sango's nowhere near being pregnant enough for it to be obvious, but the cravings will kick in soon and cruise ships have 24 hour room service! Anything Sango wants she'll get! They have clubs that can keep Kanna company, and gyms where you can train!"

"But...but the studying..." Michiru protested despite knowing Kaname had several good points.

"And they have libraries too!" Kaname answered, "True they might not have as good a selection, but since they aren't that well known, maybe there are books on some that you wouldn't normally find on land! True, the odds may be high, but still there. Who knows? You might get lucky!"

As all this and more entered Michiru's head, Sango turned to her husband and smiled.

"I think it's a wonderful idea, Michiru," She smiled, "We've been under stress, we've been traveling for the sake of business, maybe it's time we traveled for pleasure. If only for a week or two. Please?"

Looking over at Sango, his sister, Kanna, and his twin daughters, Michiru sighed.

"How can I ever say 'no' to you, Sango?" He smiled, "Of course we'll go."

"Yaaaayyyyy! Vacation!" Kanna screamed as Michigo and Sanru bolted awake wailing and crying after suddenly having been woken up.

"Oops. I'm sorry," Kanna sheepishly got out as Michiru and Sango rushed over to comfort their babies.

"It's alright, Kanna," Sango smiled as she bounced and cradled Sanru as Michiru began humming soothingly while holding Michigo, "In truth, you gave me what I wanted. A chance to hold and comfort my baby." Smiling as Michigo began to calm back down a little, Michiru turned to his sister.

"Make the travel arrangements please, Kaname," He said as he giggled at the sound of the crying suddenly turning to giggling and squeals, "And be sure the ship has a good nursery."

"You got it, bro!" Kaname winked as she headed to the computer room ready to make the arrangements for her brother and sister to go on one of the most romantic two weeks of their lives!
