"Focus. Silence everything around you" He whispered to her as he stood behind her, but close to where his cheek rested on her cheek as he helped her. She did what she was told, she waited patiently, griping onto her bow while he guided her hand.
"Hold...release!" The arrow went flying faster than they could see piercing into the target making an outstanding bullseye.
A huge smile grew on her face as she saw what she had accomplished.
"I did it!! I did ittttt!! Ahhh!! Did yeu see that!?!?" She yelled as she jumped for joy.
"Yes, yes, incredible my dear" an older woman said sarcastically filing her nails.
"You could at least sound more enthusiastic and look when you say those things" the young man replied in annoyance. The young lady didn't even notice their bickering through the amount of joy she was feeling of accomplishment. She finally turned to the young man
"Love ! Did yeu see that?! I couldn't hav done that without yeu !" She said as she jumped on him to carry her and of course he did holding her up with his arms as she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck pulling him close for a kiss. He chucked.
"No no Mer that was all you, I'm just here to help" he replied smiling at her as he gave her a small kiss back.
"Blah blah blah ! Is this what you call fun?? My this is so boring" the older woman said in annoyance. The couple turned to look at her, the young man just gave her a look of annoyance and the young lady just laughed. She jumped off the young man and walked towards the older woman.
"Auntie Gothel yeu think everythin' is borin'. Yeu should learn archery It might help ya won daie" she said as she went to grab another arrow from underneath the royal tarp.
"Haha Merida my dear that is what guards are for. Might I remind you or has your husband made you forget" she replied looking over at her husband judging him.
"Ha.ha. You think I made her enjoy archery ? That's all her but you would know that if you actually payed attention. In matter of fact have you ever been to any of her competitions?!" He exclaimed.
"Hiccup.." Merida said putting a hand on his chest trying to stop him from starting an argument.
"No no Mer let her answer" he insisted.
Gothel just looked at hiccup in annoyance
"I don't have to answer you. You might be Chief and soon to be king but I will never obey you." She replied laughing to herself.
"But you are...scared of me" Hiccup stated.
The sentence made Gothel furious because it was true. Since the day she found out her niece was marrying a Viking she shook in fear. And he wasn't just any ordinary Viking, he was called "The Dragon King" sure maybe a simple Viking would been not to bad to get rid of but a Viking with a dragon and THEN to make matters worse not just an ordinary dragon either, the deadliest dragon there was! Of course her niece would have chose him for a husband she was so rebellious, strong and independent all of the suitors that were arranged for her were scared of her but not Hiccup. He brought out the sweet side of her, nobody knew how but they knew he would kill for her and she would do the same for him. A power couple is what they were. Solid titanium. The strongest love no one has every seen.
"How dare you !" She yelled at him standing up from the comfortable chair she was lounging on. She then started waking towards him with her hands in fits.
Hiccup smiled mischievously as she got closer.
"Aunt Gothel-" Merida said trying to get in between them when hiccup stoped her with his arm pushing her back.
Gothel then suddenly stopped not even an arms length towards hiccup. She was just too scared to get closer.
Merida was stunned was hiccup telling the truth ?
"You stay out of my way Viking" Gothel finally said before grabbing her things and heading back to the castle. Hiccup kept on his mischievous smile and his eyes followed Gothel till she was gone when he then noticed his wife giving him a serious look with her arms crossed across her chest. He laughed.
"Haha what?" He asked.
"That wasn't nice" she said giving a soft smile as she turned around to continue her lesson. But he was able to grab her before she did and pulled her to face him again and wrapping his arms around her waist.
"Oh it was funny you got to admit it" he teased. Merida laughed "yeu are nuthin' but trouble mister!"
"Oh am I mi'lady? But you love trouble" he teased again as he tickled her.
"Hahaha hiccup stahp !" Merida replied laughing while pushing him away.
"Com' on were not don yet!" She reminded him.
"Okay okay" he said finally giving in and giving a kiss to her beloved.
At the castle Gothel finally arrived. Elenor her sister in law was there in the thrown room making some arrangements
"Oh Gothel back so soon? Merida usually stays out there a bit longer" she asked confused.
"I couldn't stay there any longer. That husband of her has some nerve" Gothel replied furiously.
"Oh hiccup is a sweet heart, a little to the left" she replied while also giving instructions to the helpers.
Gothel chuckled at the ridiculousness of what Elenor had said
"what was my bother even thinking to allow this ??" Gothel asked.
"Your brother wasn't too thrilled at first but you know him his daughter is everything to him" Elenor said as she rolled her eyes.
"Then why did he let her marry that barbaric animal?" Golthel kept questioning then suddenly another voice chimed in.
"He's not a barbaric animal auntie" Merida said arriving while giving her equipment to her maid.
"Hi there mum" she said greeting her mother with a kiss on the cheek. Then going sitting on a chair to see what her mother and aunt were up to.
"Yer home early ?" Elenor asked surprised.
"Ya, Hiccup needed to do somethin's so I decided to com' and see what y'all were up tu."
"So he just abandoned you?" Gothel stated.
"Ugh no auntie he just had things to du"
"And if you love archery so much why didn't you continue huh dear?" Her aunt replied with sas.
Merida looked at her annoyed at the question and she got up to leave.
"I'm not doin' this"
"Wait Merida you have your royal lessons this afternoon !" Elenor exclaimed.
Merida turned back around to face her mom.
"Ugh but mum why du I hav' to still du that?"
"Because you still need to become queen, now if you two excuse me I need to go and finish the set up in the dining hall" Elenor said. Then walked away leaving Gothel and Merida alone together. The thrown room was quiet now everyone who was decorating had seemed to finish. Merida just stood there and pouted with her arms crossed mad at the thought that she still had to become queen. Gothel walked to the thrown where the queen would sit. Where Merida would sit one day. The crown was beside it on a pillar resting on a pillow like every royal crown. Golthel went to reach for it and put it on then sat at on the thrown. Merida was too busy mumbling to herself. Until Gothel spoke.
"You know I was suppose to be next in line."
Merida looked over at her confused.
"What du yeu mean auntie Gothel?"
"See your daddy never told you but if you hadn't found a husband I would have been able to rule until you were ready" she said in a mischievous manner
"So why didn't-oh I see" Merida said realizing she has a husband now.
"But honey this is YOUR crown! Why don't you want it ? Don't you want all this power!" Gothel questioned.
"Well no, I hate bein' a princess I can't imagin' bein' a Queen! I want to be free auntie ! Not locked away givin' orders. That's noht what I wont" she said in a sad tone.
Gothel saw how Merida grew up to hate the thought of becoming queen since she was little she wasn't the average princess she wanted to be like the commoners without responsibilities and to be free! And Gothel envied the little girl it was suppose to be her crown but her brother Fergus wanted to have her daughter grow into it but with the help of her aunt. But since then she's been eyeing the crown only Merida herself would be the one to say if she wanted to hand it down to another royal. But only before she wed, and she was close to that mark. Hiccup was her Husband but only under the Hooligan tribe she became the Chieftess. But has yet to marry under her own crown. And this was Gothels last chance to convince Merida to never accept her thrown.
"Oh my sweet Merida there is one way. But I wouldn't want you to do that it's your crown after all" gothel said acting innocently.
"Auntie Gothel if you know then pleasssse tell me!" She insisted
"Well you see your daddy never told you this but you can give your crown away. To another royal of your own blood that is. Like let's say me?" Gothel implied.
"Is that true?! Auntie if it is please take it your the next best thing! Better than I'll ever be" Merida insisted.
Gothel chuckled and replied "I would be glad to my sweat pea! I would just need to make arrangements but I'm sure it will be possible you'll see"
"Ahhh!! Thank yeu thank yeu auntie Gothel yeu don't kno how much this means to me !" Merida said as she went to go hug Gothel into a tight embrace.
Gothel was startled by it but returned the hug
"oh my dear I'm glad this makes you happy, I'd never want to take what is yours my love" she said as she laid her had on meridas big red curls and stroked them with her hand.
"I know yeur only lookin' our for meh" Merida said softly into the hug. Gothel smiled mischievous "never my little girl"
