Merida sat outside on a hill outside the castle walls at a special spot where she could see the whole ocean. You could see the night sky reflect in the water. She wrapped a small cloak around her to keep her warm. It wasn't freezing but the light wind made her shiver a bit, ever since she found out she was expecting it was though her senses had got stronger. She sat there just admiring the night till she felt something brush her hand. She turned to look and it was toothless.

"Hey buddy, how a ye?" She asked him. He just looked at her then her tummy as though asking her how she and her baby was.

"Oh he's okay, it's just gettin' a little more challenging to move around" she giggled.

Toothless looked at though he smiled at her then curled up next to her. Merida petted him as he layer there next to her, when suddenly he was startled and jumped at the feeling of her belly moving confused about what happened. Toothless knew a "baby" was a little version of humans and that I guess they were being protected in their belly till they were ready to come out is what hiccup had told him but he didn't really understand it.

Merida noticed how scared toothless looked and confused.

"Oh no it's okay toothless, he's just stretchin'. Big stretch this time, oh." She laughed but then winced at the pain.

Toothless tilted his head in confusion.

"Come here he won't hurt cha" Merida reaches out her hand encouraging him to get closer. Toothless slowly got closer with caution, until Merida petted him as he sniffed then rubbed his head on her belly. Toothless felt her little one moving it was so interesting, he could hear Merida heart beat but then he heard a little heart beat too.He jumped up with joy he couldn't believe it, what hiccup was right! He knew hiccup wouldn't lie to him but he was finally able to understand. Toothless was so excited now jumping up and down panting from all the joy. Merida laughed at his reaction.

"Yeu heard him didn't ya ? He's not quite ready yet but soon he's goin' to need someone to play with..." Merida said smiling and rubbing her tummy. Toothless purred and got closer again keeping his head to the level of her tummy and cuddling up next to her. Merida gave toothless a small kiss on his head and the rubbed it. She felt her little one keep moving, more than ever.

"Oh he loves ya already toothless...You two are going to be best friends." Toothless let out a sound of approval.

They sat there until it was passed midnight. Hiccup came out to fetch Merida to finally come inside.

"Hey, there you are love" Merida turned to look at him.

"Oh I'm sorry it got late"

"No it's alright I just got worried about to but I can see you have protection" hiccup said teasing as he looked at toothless sleeping right beside her. Merida laughed

"Oh he's not just protecting me now, he's protecin' his little friend too"

"Ah I see I'm glad they're getting along" hiccup smiled then went to help Merida get up. Merida grabbed his hand and he pulled her up. Toothless woke up at the movement then looked over at hiccup helping Merida. "Ooo" she said in pain as she got up. "You okay?" Hiccup asked worried. "Ya just been sittin' for a long time"

"Okay you're not walking, come here bud" Hiccup said as he picked up Merida bridal style before she argued, knowing she would. "Wait wha-" Merida couldn't get out her words because it happened so fast toothless already knew exactly what hiccup meant so as soon as he picked her up got closer for hiccup to sit Merida on top of him.

"Hiccup" Merida started at hiccup with a serious face. Hiccup then jumped on toothless sitting behind Merida.

"You can argue all you want I'm taking charge this time" he said wrapping one arm around her resting his hand on her tummy and the other on toothless blocking the other side of her as they began to move to make sure she didn't fall. Toothless es walked to the castle since they couldn't fly because of Merida condition. On their way their Merida turned to look at hiccup as he looked straight ahead and with her left hand he pulled him closer so she could kiss his cheek. Hiccup then pulled her closer to her giving her a small tight hug as a response to her gesture.

"Yeur always protecting me, and choosing what's best for me, even when I oppose" she whispered to him. Hiccup smiled wanting to laugh but he didn't. "You're everything to me Mer. Nothing you say will make me change my mind when it comes down to love I have for you" Hiccup said and he could feel he smile as she hugged the arm he was using to keep her from falling and it warmed his heart. That as hard headed and stubborn as she was he was the only one who could break through that shell and show her sweet vulnerable side of her to him and only to him.

3 months later

Over at Gothels tower. Gothel was throwing things around letting out the anger as the day came closer to the birth of her nephew.

"Whoa calm down no need to throw things" Drago said so nonchalant.

"Easy for you to say you didn't just have your WHOLE KINGDOM TAKEN FROM YOU!!" Gothel yell at him.

"Well there's nothing to do now that twerp is going to be here any day now and there's nothing you can do about it!"

Gothel suddenly had an idea

"But-what if there was ?" Drago rolled his eyes. " you've really lost it"

"No no what if he...disappeared?" Gothel said out loud.

Drago looked over in confusion " I'm sorry but you are no murder and to kill the Dragon Kong's son ? You would really need to have a death wish" he said and laughed at the thought.

"No you idiot. I mean lose the little twerp!"

"Hmm that's actually not a bad idea" Drago said under his breath thinking.

"Only problem is that kid is going to be recognizable and like I said no one in their right mind is going to take that task" he said in a serious tone.

"No...no BUT ! What is I hide him?! That way I have control over him and the situation. I have the perfect spot where no one will him him" Gothel said mischievously. "Call the boys we've got a baby to steal!" Gothel finally said. Drago looked at her then looked away not being sure of the idea but he was going to try.

The day came ! Everyone was rushing around getting thing for the arrival of the new heir ! Merida and Hiccup had gone to visit Berk when suddenly she felt a sharp pain and she knew it was time and they quickly brought a healer to deliver the baby. Hiccup was pacing outside his cabin. Toothless was right beside him waiting as well, he looked at him confused about why his rider was so worried. But hiccup wasn't worried he was excited but nervous the anticipation was killing him. He was so happy that his child was going to be born on Berk. Stick and Valka, Hiccups parents were so happy to be able to be there for the birth. And of course Fergus and Elenor was there since the due date was close they traveled with Hiccup and Merida Incase it where to happen on another place and it did. It was already a discussion Merida and Hiccup had that their child was going to have both of their heritage but wherever their child was born it would be special either way.

"Son it's okay" Stoick said as he put a hand on his shoulder to stop him from pacing.

" I-I know I just-what if-" hiccup could barely get out a sentence when his mother reassured him also.

"Nothing bad will happen they'll both be okay Hiccup. And you're going to do great!" She said brushing his hair out of his face. He took a breathe and smiled as he looked at both of them when all of a sudden they heard a baby cry and all of their eyes widened. Stoick and Valka both then gave hiccup a huge smile and Hiccup did too. He then turned around to look at Fergus and Elenor that were also smiling in joy at hiccup.

"Well go on lad ! Go meet yeur baby!!" Fergus told hiccup. Hiccup smiled at Fergus and took in a deep breathe before turning to look at his father

"I, go on son, go meet the new member of our tribe" Hiccup nodded and look at the door of the cabin ready to meet his child.
