It's been two week since Arkyn's Arival and Merida and Hiccup were already packing up to head back to Scotland.

"Okay do you have everything?" Hiccup asked Merida as she look out at Berk from her house one last time

"huh? Oh yes, this is all of thee last things" she said as she handed hiccup a bag.

He threw the bag over his shoulder and held it with one arm while he held meridas hand with the other and walked to the boat. Merida just kept looking out into the open and taking in ever beauty of berk she could see, especially since the sun was rising and it made everything look more beautiful that it was

"You okay Mer ?" Hiccup asked

"I just...I can't believe I won't see this place in a while that's all, it feels like it will be forever"

Hiccup chuckled "it's only for a little bit Mer, a few months is all"

They finally got to the boat and hiccup handed one of the other Vikings the bag he was holding.

"I know but your dad...I-"

"Hey! You guys will be back don't worry, I need to see Arkyn walk remember you can't have all those milestones to yourself" He teased.

Merida laughed "yer right"

"Come on yeu two let's get goin !" Fergus yelled at them.

Hiccup just laughed, then he saw past Merida, his mother and father were kissing Arkyn and saying their goodbyes. Valka and Stoick were taking care of Arkyn that day so Merida and hiccup could pack. But once it was time for them to leave it was hard to let go. Merida turned to see what hiccup was looking at and her mood saddened

"I'll go get him" hiccup said sadly.

As he got closer he saw his mother was crying and his father was wiping away his tears.

"This will always be your home, never forget that my little one, we love you with all our hearts" Valka whispered to her grandson.

"You'll be back soon I promise" Stoick added.

It was as though they were saying goodbye forever and it broke hiccups heart but he knew it wasn't like that he was coming back in 5 months but he let his parents say their goodbyes and then said,

"Time to go..."

His parents looked over with a sad look then at Arkyn and they each gave him a small kiss. Valka then went to hand him to hiccup. He received him and smiled at them and said

"don't worry he'll be back. He is my son after all, stubborn." He chuckled then continued,

"He'll always come back to berk even if he gets lost, Berkians find their way home."

And with those words it seemed to put Valka and Stoick at peace. They smiled at hiccup and nodded because what he said was true. It was a saying in their tribe. Berkians always found their way back.

"We'll be back soon" he said then he walked away.

The boat ride felt long it took 3 days to get to Dunbroch from Berk by boat but Arkyn seemed to not mind he would just stare up at the clouds amazed at them, he would cry every now and then but only if he was wet or hungry, nights were cold so everyone would bundle up but Berkians were use to it because they had their armor and fur coats. 3 fellow Vikings came with them to help during the voyage and take shifts to steer the boat but on the 2nd night Hiccup couldn't sleep and Arkyn wasn't sleeping either. Arkyn was restless and kept crying that night, Merida was about to get up when hiccup stopped her

"i got it don't worry" Merida just smiled and went back to sleep.

Hiccup then got up put on his coat and his fur cloak and headed over to the other side of their bed where Arkyn was in a small basenet

"can't sleep either?" He asked and scooped him up then wrap his son up in his baby blanket he had while wrapping his fur cloak to keep him extra warm then grabbed his sons bottle. They then headed to the top deck.

"Hey garette" he said to the Viking steering the boat

"oh hey chief couldn't sleep aye?"

"No, this little one doesn't want to either do you mind if we take the rest of your shift ? I don't think we're sleeping anytime soon " hiccup chuckled

"ye sure"

"yeah gives me father and son time haha"

"haha aight I'll just head on to bed then, thanks chief" Garette said as he walked away.

Hiccup then sat down in the chair to steer, it seemed fine so he just sat there staring into the nothingness of the ocean.

"Well...now it's just me and you buddy" he looked down at Arkyn and realized he had stopped crying, and was now just staring back at hiccup with his little tears in his eyes.

"OH! Your milk! Almost forgot" he said giving a nervous laugh.

He then reached into his pocket and pulled out his bottle and gave it to him.

"I'm sorry little buddy... I just haven't got use to this father stuff I'm not like...well actually my dad didn't really know how to be a father till toothless came along." He sighed.

"I just hope I'm good enough. You know... to teach you things. But honestly I think you're going to teach me too. The only thing I do know is I will always love you Arkyn. Even if I mess up Its out of love but you'll always have me even if your in Scotland you will always have me." Hiccup looked down at his son again.

Arkyn had stopped drinking his milk and was just holding it now he was just looking up at his dad as though he understood what he was saying. Hiccup smiled at him and Arkyn smiled back at him and laughed. It made hiccup feel something he never felt before his son meant the world to him and he would hurt anyone who hurt him.

That morning Merida woke up to her boys sleeping right next to her, cuddled up together and both sleeping in the same position, like father like son. Merida gave out a small laugh it was the best feeling in the world to witness this and wished she could keep that moment forever. She kissed her son and then her husband waking hiccup up.

"Wow haven't had those in daysss" hiccup said making Merida laugh.

"that's cause their for someone else now" she teased.

"Wow another man already ?! Well then I will be taking my son and leaving" he teased back,

Merida gasped then laughed.

"Yer son is 'the other man' haha"

Hiccup got up to look at her with a raised eyebrow. "No cause he's MY son so it's a mini ME so technically it's still ME"

Merida got up to face hiccup and smiled and said "Good" then gave him a kiss.

"Scotland awaits" she said quickly getting up to get dressed.

It wasnt long till they finally got there and just like berk everyone was excited to welcome the young prince.

Before they could walk down the boat Fergus gave an announcement

"I know yeu all must be eager to see the new prince but please try not to clutter Queen Merida there will be chances to see the new prince at the castle thank you all" everyone began to clap and as Fergus asked everyone tried not to clutter merida but she uncovered Arkyn so everyone was able to see him. And you could hear their comments:

"Ohh look at the little prince!"

"What an angel !"

"Look he's got the Scottish eyes!"

Once everyone finally got to the castle they were welcomed too by their maids and their guards. Maudie meridas maid/nanny was the most excited to see her child until she saw he was a boy

"Oh no not another little boy in the house!"

Merida and hiccup laughed.

"Don't worry Maudie he won't be like his uncles you'll see."

"Uncles?"

"He's here, he's here!!"

"I'm going first no I am!"

Said Hubert, Hamish and Hariss as they raced down to see Meridas baby.

"They're are ma boys!" Elenor said as she opened her arms for a hug and the 3 brothers went to hug their mother and father then to go see their nephew.

"Hamish, Hariss, Hubert. This is Arkyn"

"Heyyy how come he doesnt have hair like us ?" Hamish asked

"yeah !" Agreed Hubert

"Well hiccup is his dad sooo he got his hair just like we got dads"

"Ohhhhhh" all three echoed.

"Can he play with us?" Hariss asked

"Not right now give him a few years" Merida answered.

All three brothers looked at each other and said "hm okay" then left off running to create mischief.

"Oh...I really do hope he's different" Maudie said with a worried look as they see the boys run off.

Arkyn then started to get fussy. "Oh dear yeu guys should go get settled so yeu can go feed the baby dear" Said Elenor

"right, yes mother...hiccup will you?" Merida said hinting to help her with the bags.

"oh yeah toothless will be here any minute to help so I'll just wait and just take Arkyn's stuff up" Merida nodded and head upstairs with hiccup.

They got to their room and Hiccup just stared at it, it was like it was just yesterday he was building his sons crib and now he's here. He saw as Merida walked in whispering to him

"Look Arkyn this is Scotland your new home, this is mommy and daddy's bed and this is yours my little prince" Hiccup smiled at the beautiful view he had, his wife and his son.

How he wished he could capture that moment Merida laid him down in his crib and a big smile grew on her face as she saw her little one finally in his crib, in his home.
