Netto's Awakening: Road To Adolescence

Netto goes all-out against the remnants of the Neo-World 3, with a new PET and an experimental Vent fusion chip based on the one that Enzan loaned to Dr. Hikari, and despite not yet been tested, he is still willing to overstep the boundaries just to satisfy his craving for revenge, and by the end of this chapter you'll get to see what Netto's Vent Fusion is like.

Ch. 13: Fukushū no Tame ni, Netto no kuesuto Part 2

At the heart of Shibuya, you can see Netto hiding within the alleyways avoiding detection as he is just moments away from achieving what he wanted: Finding Takeo's lair and at his right hand was the Vent Fusion Chip he stole from the Hikari Lab and at his right hand is the newly-created PET intended for Netto which his dad opted not to give it to him until he is fully recovered. Unfortunately al Netto had in his mind was getting revenge, thus all he could think about is himself and nothing else.

Then he saw Narcy emerging from one of the beauty shops after removing his disguise and didn't notice the 14-year old Net Saver watching close by, and though emotionally in turmoil it didn't a few seconds for the brown-haired teen to deduce who sent the "rape" scene footages on TV and guessed that Videotape Man was behind this.

"Narcy…I'll kill you…but first I kill Inukai and his Darkloid cronies…you won't escape my wrath…I swear I won't leave until I kill you all…for the humiliation you put me through…mark my words…I will make sure no one saves you…I won't let you escape by going to jail…I will kill you with my bare hands…"

As Narcy is heading towards an unspecified location, the 14-year old Net Saver-on leave slowly follows his target and makes sure he is not seen, and puts on his trench coat and hat to make sure he is not recognized by anyone as he figured that everyone is looking for him counting that the Vent Chip and PET are now missing and he couldn't afford to lose them as the two items are his tickets to nailing his tormentors and he is willing to fight everyone, and anyone, getting in his way.

"That's it, Narcy…walk towards your hiding place…you're my way to where Takeo and his Darkloid bastards are hiding…I'm going to take out all of them…and that includes you…and Videotape Man as well…I won't spare you even if you beg for mercy…I'll enjoy every moment seeing you suffer…that'll make my day…just you wait…"

Meanwhile, Enzan called all of his friends and told them to gather at the Hikari Lab at once as searching for Netto would require a lot of manpower if they are going to save him from himself and from the Darkloids at large. They knew he is in no emotional condition to carry out his mission of vengeance. He might end up getting himself hurt or killed.

At the Cyber world, Blues had Rush summon every available Navi friends he could find as they can be of help in searching for Netto. Rockman and Roll decided to join in gathering their friends to conduct a search party for Netto.

Thirty minutes later, all of Netto's friends have gathered inside the conference room after they answered Enzan's text message and they decided to join him in their search for the missing Net Saver. So far the friends gathered were standing in line after each minutes passed and are now forming a straight line. They are:

- Dekao Oyama

- Tohru Hikawa

- Yaito Amanokuji

- Shuuko Kido

- Yamitaro Higure

- Laika

- Meiru Sakurai

- Anetta

- Raoul

All were listening intently after being debriefed on what happened earlier and are guessing where the 14-year old teen might be heading. Meiru was the only one so far to be visibly concerned about what he is intending to do and urged everyone that they get a move on but Enzan calmed her down seeing how worried she was.

"I know you're worried, we all are, that's why we'll be forming a search party to split up to cover the nearby prefectures and knowing that he'll probably avoid us we should disguise ourselves. I'll assign you in pairs to cover the areas which we believe where he might pass by. Dekao and Tohru…You'll go to Yokohama and take Guts Man and Ice Man with you. Shuuko and Mr. Higure…you go to Kyoto and have Aqua Man and Number Man on standby. Yaito and Raika…Go to Akihabara as we believe there's a chance that Takeo and his gang might be setting a base there. Raoul and myself will cover Sapporo. Meiru…Anetta…go to Shibuya in case you see him there."

With that the search party formed everyone left at once except for Enzan and Raoul as they are being summoned by Dr. Hikari to have a word with the two. As the rest left, the conference room became silent though Enzan and Raoul are being interviewed by Dr. Hikari over something.

At Shibuya the scene shifts to an abandoned factory Narcy entered and Netto followed but used a different route to avoid detection. As he transverse around he finds out that the factory, which storing a lot of chemicals, is like a giant maze and it was about three stories high. There he managed to find his way and found what he is looking for: Takeo Inukai and Hide Narcy, and to his expectation, so are the Darkloids. He glanced at them and noted those who are present:

- Beastman

- Videotape Man

- Piranha Man

- Octo Man

- Hammerhead Man

- Jelly Man

The emotionally-possessed Net Saver then saw another Darkloid arrived and it resembled a Tigershark. The Darkloid was then introduced by Hammerhead Man and the newcomer was identified as Tigershark Man. And there he was inducted to the group. Seeing that this is his chance he prepared his upcoming fight but decided to bid his time to look around his surroundings. Then he recalled what Laika told him about not showing his emotions while in battle as it would give himself away. He gritted his teeth at recalling those words but something made him change his mind and considers the advice. He then went to a dark section of the warehouse to prepare himself.

Meanwhile, the Navi partners were searching the several prefectures but so far they found nothing and are now considering moving to other places. Ice Man Man and Guts Man spent nearly 30 minutes at their assigned place and found nothing and left, where they met up with Number Man and Aqua Man, and the four then went to the next prefecture where they believe they might have better luck in finding Netto.

At the Hikari Lab, Enzan, Raoul and Dr. Hikari were taken by surprise as Plant Man showed up and began to have a word with them and this gives a lot of shocking revelations which explains a lot about what happened recently. He explained that before Shade Man's defeat at the hands of Dr. Regal merging with Laser Man, Bubble Man captured Rush to use his data to revive Shade Man, but then someone obtained a copy of Rush's data and used it to duplicate his ability to travel between the real world and the Cyber World in which it resulted in creating a battle chip to enable a Navi to have that feat. Moreover, once in the hands of a Net operator the person can travel freely at the Cyber World and with the new PET device he can gain a Navi or Darkloid partner of his/her choice..

Raoul and Dr. Hikari were surprised at the discovery of the new info while Enzan wonders how Miyuki Tezuka obtained the items and wondered why he gave him those and hoped that the fortune teller is a good guy. Then his cellphone rang and he answered it.

"Hello..."

"Listen carefully..."

"You...Tezuka..."

"We don't have much time so I'll get to the point. The boy whom I told you in my vision is somewhere within Shibuya and is now about to lose himself out...you've got to get there now..."

"How did you know that?"

"My fortune telling is never wrong. I'll send you the coordinates...I'll go there ahead to try to stall him, though I'm not sure if I can stop him..."

After the line was cut Enzan told Raoul to call the rest to head for Shibuya wile he awaits Tezuka's sending of the coordinates of Neto's whereabouts. Plant Man then went towards Dr. Hikari to offer him something which surprises the scientist to a certain extent.

"Here...use my chip...it's the same as Takeo's Darklod's...you can use it to create duplicates of chips so your Navi can travel freely to your world."

"Thank you, Plant Man...but I can only create one for now given the situation..."

"Then do it...have Rockman be the recipient as I believe he's the only one who can bring that boy to his senses...don't get me wrong...I'm not doing this for him or for you..."

"I understand..."

At the abandoned factory, everyone were contemplating on what to do next and came to an agreement to humiliate Netto more but then one of the Darkloids sensed an energy burst nearby and Jelly Man decided to check it out with Octo Man following. Takeo seem to get a bit suspicious and asked Narcy if someone is following him, which he flatly denied. But Beastman stood up sensing another strong energy burst emanating near the stairs while the lights dimmed, and there they saw Jelly Man clutching his stomach where smoke was billowing. The Darkloid slumped to the floor before "logging out" and this made the others feel uneasy.

Then Octo Man was thrown down from the bridge above them and the villains look up. They saw someone standing over the bridge but was covered in silhouette. As Takeo demanded the intruder to reveal himself the lights slowly went on, slowly revealing someone which resembled Rockman as only his helmet was visible, but it was colored navy black and that his entire torso was covered with a very black cloth which matched the color of the helmet.

The Rockman-lookalike's face wasn't shown his face was covered with a black-colored visor and face guard and this made Narcy tremble in fear. Then the visor and face mask "opened up" and the intruder's face was revealed: Netto Hikari. He has initiated Vent Fusion but his armor resembled that of Ryusei no Rockman armor as Netto raised both arms and his cape "folded", revealed his frontal area, where his armor indeed resemble the armor from Ryusei no Rockman (or Mega Man Star Force), but the color scheme is black and he is sporting a long cape which is made of kelvar cloth. His Rock Buster vaguely resembles a dragon's head and he slowly descends to the floor while holding both sides of his cape, giving it a gothic approach.

The two Net criminals were awestruck by this and wondered if the Net Saver has "lost his marbles." or not but Beastman and Videotape Man aren't letting their guards down after seeing what happened to Jelly Man and how he knocked down Octo Man.

At last...Netto's "Vent Fusion..."though you may be surprised at what he looked like, and indeed this has to be my finest approach to give Netto Hikari a makeover fusion in which he didn't require merging with Rockman.

About why and how I came up with this kind of approach...several factors came in and how it fitted all at once and why I chose them:

- When I bought a Rockman-EXE action figure (straight from Japan) six months ago I placed it at the cabinet of my bedroom as a display and did a lot of posing to suit my viewing due to a lot of number of articulations. When i was at the planning stages of creating this fic I had to look at it to inspire me to make a good story.

- At that time I had a Vision Of Escaflowne figure, Guymelef Scherezade, in which it had a REAL cape on it.

- Then I was watching the 2004-2008 animated show "The Batman", and there I toyed the idea of putting Guymelef Scherezade's cape on my RockmanEXe figure. Poof! It was a perfect fit and a perfect blend.

- Though I haven't seen the anime version of Mega Man Star Force I saw the screen shots via wikipedia, and there I was inspired to use Subaru Hoshikawa/Geo Stelar's Rockman form and there I decide to add a cape that was wide and similar to "The Batman".

- As for why I gave Netto's Vent Fusion armor a black color scheme...two reasons: 1) The Tim Burton movies Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992). 2) Since rockman will show up and try to talk some sense in to Netto, you might get confused with the two Rockmen bearing the same colors (blue) so I had to differentiate them, and to further differentiate the two is that I gave Netto's Vent Fusion armor a cape just like I did in my action figure.
