Chapter 6: Power

Hi guys. So a big thank you to everyone reading this, I did not expect a lot of people to read it. I just wanted to say that I love writing but being in college doesn't give me a lot of time to write since my education is my no. 1 priority but thank you guys for being patient.

So this chapter is back to Hermione and Angie and just mother-daughter love. Enjoy, please leave a review on what could be improved and all that. I don't own anything.

As Hermione emerged from the fireplace, she was enveloped by the warmth of the Burrow. Her second home after the war had welcomed by the familiar scent of a roast and curry. Ever since Hermione got Molly a muggle cooking book with dishes from all around the world, she has been trying new recipes non-stop.

Molly rounded the corner to give her a tight hug and a kiss on each cheek. Taking off her cloak and placing it on one of the sofas Hermione made her way to the kitchen offering some help. Hermione could tell from the noises upstairs that Harry was with the children. Light steps slowly descended the stairs and Hermione knew it would be her daughter, expecting her to run up to her. Instead she was greeted by a worried little girl clutching onto her book, with glistening eyes. Hermione was instantly at her daughter's side, picking her up and sitting her down on her lap by the dinner table.

''What's the matter darling? Are you hurt?'' she didn't get an answer as he daughter began to sniffle into her mother's shoulder. With growing concerned she looked over at Molly silently asking her what had happened. With a light sigh, Molly sat down beside Hermione and began to explain.

''Hermione what do you know about accidental magic within a developing child?''

''Everything I could read on. A child is capable of accidental magic when he or she reaches the age of 8, what does that have anything to do with this situation?'' Hermione asked

''Well, today Angie performed an accidental magic today but kept it for a long period of time, I'd say about a minute and it wasn't just accidental, it was more like wandless magic. She had so much control over it, she truly was phenomenal.'' Molly exclaimed.

Hermione grew silent at the new information as Molly continued.

''I can assure you none of the other children where hurt, in fact Angie saved Fred from falling off the old apple tree at the end of the orchard. Louise was taunting him and all that. I was too busy trying to get Louise down from the tree I didn't react fast enough when Fred missed the branch and began to fall. He never hit the ground though, Angie here was quick on her feet, or mind, and created a levitating charm on him using wandless magic.'' Finishing the day's event to the worried mother.

''But how is this possible Molly? Angie's only 4, even I didn't do accidental magic until I was 7'' Hermione questioned as she stroked her daughter hair, calming her down with a gentle tone.

''I don't honestly know my dear, but everything will turn out when it's meant to. I understand that you're a powerful witch, but it takes two to tango, so it is only right to assume that both parents are indeed powerful. I suggest you help her control it. You talk to her in the sitting area before dinner, she's been worried sick since she did it.'' With that Molly stood from the chair and continued cooking.

Hermione got up with Angie in her arms and began to make her way towards the sitting area. Gently rubbing small circles on her daughters back she waited patiently for the sobs to turn into quiet sniffles. Angie finally sat up and rubbed her eyes with the back of her small hands. Hermione gently wiped away the final tears on her daughter's cheeks and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead

''I'm sorry mama'' Angie spoke gently.

''What for, darling?'' Hermione asked feeling sorry that her daughter had apologized for Something out of her control.

''For using magic outside of Hogwarts. I didn't know I could do it, really, I just wanted to save Freddie'' Angie explained slowly begin to cry again.

''Oh darling, shhh'' Hermione began to rock her little angel desperately trying to calm the whimpering child.

''Nothing bad will happen to you. What you did was something called accidental magic, it is completely normal for you to do it at a young age, maybe not as early, but it would have happened eventually'' Hermione reassured her child in a motherly voice.

She noticed Angie's whimpers were calming down, so she decided to continue talking. It was the one thing Hermione found that could sooth her child no matter what, even when Angie was still in her belly. During her pregnancy, on nights were sleep was beyond Hermione's dreams, due to the active child in her belly, she would talk about anything and everything until the little miracle would settle.

''We must be careful though because you need to learn how to control it, my dear. You are so special my dear, I love you for who you are, not just because your my daughter, though that is quiet important, but I love how you are caring, how you are determined to learn and how much you love me. My little angel, your magic will get stronger, but I will be here to answer all your questions and will be here to help you control it, I will protect you when you feel unstable.'' the final line made Hermione pull her daughter closer to her heart, as silent tears fell from her own eyes. Knowing what was going in their world as they spoke, she vowed on her life that she will protect Angie no matter what.

Without a word, Angie kissed her mother's cheeks and then her head followed by a tight hug, burying her face in her mother's neck. Hermione cherished these little moments with her heart, she didn't want this little girl in her arms to grow, she wanted to keep her small and protected from the cruel world.

''No more crying mama, I love you for you too. You are the best mama in the world'' Angie exclaimed while attempting to wipe the tears on her mother's cheeks, just as her mother had done for her not too long ago.

Giving a small chuckle and a final kiss on the foreheads, Hermione suggested that Angie washed up for dinner. Seeing her daughter smiling and bounce up the stairs filled her heart beyond anything she could dream of.

Dinner went by without anymore mishaps. The adults discussed the possibilities of how they could be safe with the kidnapper on the loose when the children went up to play some more before going home. Bill and Flure apologized to Molly for Louise's behavior. George held Fred close to him throughout the evening after discovering the day's event. He also thanked Angie graciously for saving Fred, being the humble lady Angie was, she took the praise kindly explaining that anyone would have done the same for her.

They all said their goodbyes after adding extra wards around the Burrow and its ground. With Bill, Hermione, Harry, Molly and George putting up protection after protection, there was no doubt that the Burrow was safe. Gathering all her belongings Angie and Hermione were the first to leave.

That night a thunderstorm ranged on into the darkness, causing Angie to wake and seek for her mother. Hermione was up late reading and getting work done when her door opened softly, revealing a terrified Angie close to tears with her baby blanket and teddy. With a flick of her wand all the papers and books around her bed stacked up neatly onto her desk. Pulling the covers aside she picked up her little angel and placed her gently on her bed. Tucked under her mother's protective embrace Angie's breathing steadied into heavy sighs. Admiring her daughter's blond hair and porcelain face, Hermione wondered if she would ever tell Angie about her father, or if she could ever find the courage to tell him. Laying down slowly to not disrupt the child, Hermione feel asleep with the even pattern of little gentle breaths.

She dreamed of her beautiful daughter that night and a familiar blond boy.
