Chapter 22
Lunch with the Reese Boys. Weapons for Bravo team.
Lunch time.
The time had come, and that time was Lunch.
Sofia was sat down at her usual place where she and her professional partner Dennis Reese would sit, talk about life, family, complain about anything bugging them, drink coffee and eat donuts.
Dennis hadn't yet arrived, he had said something about a "sudden family emergency" and he would be running a little late.
Nor was A.T there yet, the old yet eternally young cyborg, Sofia dreaded her meeting Dennis, would he forever look at her, his partner, like some strange BDSM freak?
A.T could be very, forceful in bed.
She also didn't seem to care what people thought of her. Sofia silently prayed that A.T would keep her promise to behave.
The sound of someone calling her name broke her out of her thought, she turned seeing Dennis, still dressed in his uniform wheeling a young dark haired boy towards her, a cast plastered around his right leg but a beaming smile on his face.
"You okay?" Dennis asked as he parked the wheel chair next to her, "looked a little lost."
"Just worried, A.T is, ugh …" she paused in thought of her next words. "an acquired taste."
Dennis simply chuckled to himself, his mustache seemed to bounce above his lip.
Sofia turned her attention to the young boy in the wheelchair and smiled caringly at him.
"And hey there big guy, wow you're getting big now." She said in a loving tone.
"Hi Sofia." The boy said happily waving at the older woman before opening his arms.
"Hey Kyle" Sofia said in an equally happy tone before leaning in and giving him a caring hug.
"Oh you poor boy." She said now turning to look at his leg, "Did it hurt?"
"Yeah" the boy replied as Sofia pulled away a frown on his face only to be replaced with a beaming smile. "But I didn't cry." Kyle said excitedly, however Sofia knew better, but for Kyle she'll play along.
"What a tough guy you are Kyle." She patted him gently on the head making the child blush.
"Yeah he's a tough kid." Dennis said watching the interaction further, it was then he noticed something he looked around then looked back down to Sofia. "She aint here yet, your friend, know where she is?" he asked.
"She said she had some errands to run but…" Sofia began
"Hey!" came a loud voice, both turned to see A.T running up to them waving her arm frantically. She stopped by them and leaned on the table, panting, only Sofia would know she were faking it.
"Sorry I'm late." She smiled to Sofia then looked to the man with her, she stood up straight and stuck her hand out. "You must be Dennis, nice to meet you."
Dennis took her hand and gave her a friendly but firm handshake. "And this must be the infamous A.T, nice to meet ya miss." He said politely.
A.T finally took notice of the small boy in the wheelchair. "Aww, you poor dear." She said sadly, sticking her lower lip out in a pout.
"This is Kyle, he broke his ankle. Doctors had to put a big cast on his leg." Dennis explained then looked at his son and smiled.
Kyle was looking at A.T, he noticed she was tall for a woman. "Your big." He said suddenly.
A.T chuckled and stood up to her full height. "For a woman." She shrugged, she knelt down to look at him better. "You okay hun?" Kyle nodded, she looked at Dennis then at Sofia, then back to Kyle.
"You think your daddy would let you have some Ice-Cream?" she asked, a smirk appeared on her face as Kyle's eyes lit up with joy.
"Please dad, please!" the young boy begged looking at his father who laughed.
"Sure Kyle, sure." Dennis chuckled.
A.T stood back up. "If it's alright with you two, me and Kyle will get ice-cream."
"Actually." Sofia interrupted getting up. "me and Kyle will go get us all ice-cream, you and Dennis can talk, he did wanna meet you." She walked behind the excitedly young boy's wheelchair and walked them into the café.
A.T sat down in Sofia's seat and smiled at Dennis.
"So tell me about yourself." He asked.
"What do you want to know?" she asked with a small smile.
Dennis rubbed his chin in thought his lip moving side to side making his mustache move.
"How about how you and Sofia met." He offered.
'Fuck.' A.T cursed mentally. "Sofia and me met at a gay bar." She lied. "She looked hot and young and I was wanting."
She noticed Dennis's face become red and his eyes seemed to stare. "Little much?" she asked.
"Sorry." He said sheepishly his blush still on his cheeks.
A.T waved her hand telling him it was alright. "It's fine, I understand, how long have you and she been partners?" she asked.
Dennis paused once more and thought back. "About 3 years now." He said. "Yeah, that's about right, 3 years, I had a partner before her but he transferred to Detroit, nice guy, after a few weeks Sofia as green as they come is put as my partner."
A.T sat quietly listening to him as he went on about their more glamorous moments, a drugs raid here, armed suspect there. She was interested to know more about her friend and Dennis. As he spoke Sofia and Kyle had returned passing out Ice Creams to the others, Sofia sat down next to A.T as Dennis spoke, not bothering to interrupt him as he reminisced and spiced up the tales. Kyle was wide eyed with awe as he listened to the stories.
"Wow." A.T finally said as Dennis finished his tales. "You cops don't slack off do you?" she smirked turning to look at Sofia. "… and here I thought all you did all day was drink coffee and eat glazed Donuts." She joked, getting a sarcastic "ha. Ha" from Sofia.
"I wanna be a policeman when I'm older!" Kyle cheered getting the attention and soft smiles from the 3 adults.
"What about being a baseball player?" Sofia asked with a coy smile.
Kyle was quiet as his mind wrapped around both ideas. Suddenly his face lit up with inspiration.
"I wanna be a baseball Cop!" he cheered with childish enthusiasm.
The three adults laugh heartily at the boy's cheer.
"He's so sweet." A.T said softly making Kyle blush.
"You ever think about kids?" Dennis asked turning towards the two women.
Both stared at him dumbly for a moment.
"Ugh, I haven't really thought about it." A.T said unsurely as she scratched the back of her head.
"I'm still a little young for kids Dennis." Sofia replied swing on her feet absentmindedly.
Dennis chuckled quietly and shook his head in amusement, to the side something caught his attention and he smiled. "Well here comes our other guest."
Sofia and A.T turned to see a young boy though older than Kyle walk over to them.
"A.T this is Derek." Dennis said as the boy about 10 or 11 stopped infront of them.
A.T smiled and put her hand out. "Hey." She greeted.
Derek put his hand out and took her hand shaking it in a friendly way.
"Hello." He said smiling at her.
A.T smirked looking him over. "Well I bet you're just beating the girls away, aint ya?"
A.T chuckled as the boy's face lit up with a blush. "I'm right aint I?"
Somehow Derek's face just went redder. "Um, I … ugh, well …" the boy's voice trailed off in embarrassment.
"Oh now I think you've gone and broke him." Dennis joked getting a childish giggle from Kyle.
"So why aren't you in school young man?" Sofia asked faking seriousness.
There was an awkward silence before Kyle spoke out.
"Derek beat someone up." Kyle said timidly making Derek look to the floor shamefully.
"Why?" Sofia asked in concern. "What happened?" she looked towards Dennis.
"Some kid was messing with one of Derek's friends and Derek stood up for him then lost his temper." Dennis sighed as she scratched his brow.
A.T smiled softly lowered herself to Derek's eye line. "Well I think that's a brave thing to do." She smiled and kissed him on his forehead causing his whole face to turn a deep red.
"DEREK'S GOT COOTIES!" Kyle yelled out.
"I do not!" Derek said trying to defend himself and hide his blush.
A.T chuckled and looked at Kyle. "Your just jealous." She winked.
"Eeewww!" Kyle stuck out his tongue, though his cheeks turned a little red.
Derek stared out across the room, hunched forward as he sat at the foot of the bed, his companion still asleep.
He'd gone to Jesse earlier in the day, why? Now sitting there on the bed, he couldn't remember. He wanted to talk about the information they'd got from the Grey they'd captured: Ryan Simmons. Derek wanted to get the other Greys try and figure out what they were doing and ruin it, then kill them. It'd help John in the long run.
However. Jesse had wanted to know about the Machine, about Cameron, knowing John and Cameron had been alone for a few days she'd been worried over what had been going on between them.
'Right. Like I'm gunna tell her they're dating.' Derek thought to himself.
That would be counterproductive, he'd realise, admittedly reluctantly, that Cameron was needed, she was useful.
'A fucking better choice than Riley.' He thought with a sigh.
If he had told Jesse, she would have tried to convince Derek to get rid of the Machine, that or Jesse would just take Cameron out with a long ranged rifle. The new haul they'd got would definitely make it easier.
And that would make John beyond upset. Suicidal? Perhaps. Given what'd happened just before they met up with Dr Sherman. He could have become incredibly angry. And Derek knew that one does not go looking for the wrath of John Connor least one wants a boot shoved up their ass to stop the bleeding from the gun shot.
Derek let out a long depressed sigh. After they'd talked about Cameron again, with him reluctantly participating, they'd gotten dirty under the covers … and now he felt hollow, numb.
The emotions and feelings he'd once felt when he and Jesse made love were, they were gone. Now it was just 'fucking', empty loveless fucking. To Derek at least.
He looked to Jesse who slumbered and sighed. Was he falling out of love with Jesse. She wasn't acting like his Jesse, his Jesse was loving, caring, funny, she'd had a mind somewhat like Connor's, she accepted the Machine.
Derek began to think of the future, not his, but this new one that they were making.
John Connor didn't just accept Machines, he was in love with one, would this overall effect how he saw them? The enemy? Perhaps Cameron would convince him to start reprogramming earlier than he did in their future, the "old" future.
Maybe he'd start reprogramming the old T-70 Units, T-400s too.
'Will this be a more stable future if we fail?' he thought. 'A more promising future?'
If John had better knowledge of the enemy, and had more close experience with them, maybe he could understand them better, outsmart them better. Maybe she alone, Cameron, could make John more human, rather than the machine-man he'd become.
Derek stood up and stretched getting a pleasurable and satisfying crack from his back. He gathered up his clothes and got dressed.
"Jesse." He called to the woman as he knelt down next to her and shook her. "Wake up."
"What Derek?" came her tired voice eventually.
"What're we going to do about the Greys?" he asked.
"We'll leave them for now." She mumbled. "Let them think they're safe."
Derek pulled his arm away from her and shook his head while groaning quietly.
"If you wanna go Derek you can, I'll see you later." She mumbled once more before turning away from him.
Derek looked at her sleeping form, examining her and his thoughts about her.
He stood up and left, he needed to clear his thoughts, clear his head and truly think about things for himself.
'You a deep thinker now Derek?' he mentally asked himself, he chuckled lightly. "Maybe I should become a monk." He joked. Funny Derek.
Lunch had been good. A conversation had been pleasant. Sofia felt so much more relaxed as lunch came to a close as she had when it had begun.
A.T for her part, had behaved, she'd been openly friendly to Kyle and Derek, sure dropping a few innuendos here and there that left the boy's confused and teasing that had left them red faced. She and Dennis got on very well, by the end they appeared to be long lost friends than people who'd just met.
'Then again, that might just be Dennis' Sofia thought. 'Easy guy to like and get along with.' There were very few guys in the precinct who didn't like Dennis, friendly, fairly happy and cheerful and mostly optimistic. 'If only he knew what lay in the future' Sofia thought sadly.
"Well we best be going, right boys?" Dennis asked looking between his two sons.
"Aww dad." Derek whined.
"Can't we stay a little longer?" Kyle asked timidly.
Dennis chuckled at his two boys. "Maybe we'll meet them again later, this has been fun right?"
The boys nodded with enthusiasm.
"Good, we'll see if we can do this again someday." He smiled and stood up from his seat as did Sofia and A.T.
"It was a pleasure to meet you Dennis." A.T said as she stuck her hand out.
"And it was an honor and a pleasure to meet you too." He replied happily and shook her hand.
Dennis turned and shook Sofia's hand next.
"Thank you for letting me meet her." he smiled.
"No problem, I'll see you later Dennis." Sofia replied
A.T walked up to the younger boys and smiled, she knelt down to Kyle and smiled at him.
"I hope your leg gets better soon Kyle, you be a good boy, kay?" she said softly.
"Okay" the young boy said timidly before leaning forward carefully and hugging her.
Slightly caught by surprise A.T just blinked before returning the hug and gently pat his back before he sat back into his chair. A.T then turned her attention to Derek and smirked.
"Well Derek it was nice to meet you." She said kindly.
"You two miss." Derek said smiling awkwardly before sticking his hand out, he felt too old for hugs.
A.T looked at the hand and smirked before taking it. "Be a good kid okay?" she said.
Derek merely nodded, suddenly she pulled him closer and kissed him in his cheek.
"Good boy." She chuckled lightly then stood up and looked at a bright red Derek.
Kyle giggled below them.
With goodbyes said Derek grabbed Kyle's wheelchair and began to walk away with their father following them behind.
Sofia and A.T watched them leave soft smiles on their faces.
"You like the boys right?" Sofia asked pleasantly
"Yeah, they're good boys, cute, adorable, they're a lot like their dad." A.T shrugged but still smiled.
"The Reese charm must but part of their genetics." Sofia quipped.
A.T suddenly stopped smiling and turned her head to Sofia. "Reese?" she asked before turning to look at the boys.
Her CPU began to rewind current events until she got a good image of Derek's face, she scanned the image for his skull patterns and compared it to another picture of an older man.

LIEUTENANT DEREK REESE FOUND.
A.T eye's opened wider and mouth dropped open a little in surprise, she'd found him, sort of. The young Derek Reese, then the other was Kyle Reese, she knew of him, he was important to Connor, close to Connor.
"Yeah Reese." Sofia said not noticing the look on A.T's face.
A.T blinked and put on a friendly smile. "Where do they live?" she asked.
"Why do you wanna know that?" Sofia asked curiously
"We could have a get together it'd be fun." A.T said convincingly.
"Doubt it, as I said Dennis's wife isn't too fond of homosexuals or bisexuals." She shrugged then let out a sad sigh.
"Aww that's shame." A.T said sadly, then looked to where the boys had been. "Maybe we could organise another get together, a barbeque maybe, or babysitting." A.T offered.
"Your awfully keen. Why?" she asked suspiciously.
A.T glanced at Sofia and smiled. "Well, they're great boys and it'd be great for Dennis and his wife to get out, right?"
Sofia thought for a moment and nodded. "I guess you're right. You'd have to hide all the guns and um, unmentionables." She said
A.T nodded. "No problem. You set it up with Dennis, see if we couldn't set a date or something." She smirked.
Sofia seemed genuinely pleased. "Wow, who'd have thought you'd like kids." She chuckled.
"Well, I'm open to new experiences, never babysat kids before, and who knows, I might like it." She smirked.
Sofia nodded. "Alright, let's get going." She said before turning to leave.
A.T said nothing and followed her, her CPU planning ways to find the boys, perhaps hack into the Police network and locate their address, get the info from Sofia, or maybe just find where Derek goes to school and follow him.
It may not be what she wanted but it was a start.
Cameron gazed into the mirror in the Connor's bathroom as she peeled away the last of the bandages and let it drop to the floor next to the her clothing and the rest of the bandages.
She turned her head to look at the progress her healing was doing, it was an overall slow process due to the level of skin removal, but it was growing back as fast as she'd predicted.
She straightened her head and leaned forward getting a closer look at herself, carefully she dragged her metallic finger other her face along the line where the skin ended and the metal started.
Even with the slight numbed sensation through the metal digit the feeling of the where the healing skin met the metal was strange, like running a gloved finger over meat Sarah had cooked and smooth alloy at the same time.
'Strange.' She thought.
She turned her head to the left looking at her skull. She felt exposed, a strange vulnerability. John still loved her though, that was all she needed. Her red eye scanned her face in Technicolor, she grew curious and raised both hands towards her exposed jaw.
With her metal finger once more she tapped her exposed teeth, she felt the touch through her skull and finger, how life like they looked, her teeth, so human, yet stronger than any human bone. She tapped her teeth again with her fleshy finger, they felt like human teeth.
She opened her mouth and watched as her tongue ran along her exposed teeth, looking at it from a human point of view the sight and action would have been gruesome, sickly perhaps.
But again John still loved her she didn't want nor need anyone else's approval, just John's.
She straightened her head once more and blinked, she looked down her body, flesh had been growing back at a steady rate. Her CPU predicted another week or so, such a large regeneration would use up most if not all her nutrient reserves.
A thorough inspection later Cameron replaced her bandages and got dressed. Now she decided while Sarah and Danny were busy she would melt down the two larger endoskeletons for later use and keep the third hidden without alerting anyone.
She walked outside to the hummer and opened up the trunk she scanned the 3 large rolled up pieces of material that hid the endoskeletons. She looked around cautiously, their neighbour was nowhere to be seen …
'Excellent'
She grabbed two of the bodies and carried them out to the shed, she needn't dismantle them as the third was to be used for her upgrades, she was curious as to what John had in mind.
After setting up the pit and configuring apparatus under it she placed the two Endoskeletons together in the pit and melted them down with thermite, the apparatus underneath the pit turning the two skeletons in a large solid block of Coltan-Titanium alloy.
She disassembled the pit and picked up the block of alloy, it was ready for us into making more hyperalloy rounds for future use, preferably when she was either alone with John or less preferably by herself.
The sound of tyres pulling caused Cameron to turn her gaze out the window. She hid the alloy bar and stepped out of the shed to see Derek Reese driving back up to the house in his jeep.
She watched him park up and get out of the jeep and walk in her general direction.
"No one else home?" he asked his voice.
"John's still at school and will be for another 3 hours and 12 minutes, Sarah and Danny are out target practising." She replied.
Derek nodded slowly and walked right up to her, there were a few awkward seconds of silence, for Derek at least before he spoke up again.
"How're you doin' you uh healing up good?" he said wagging his finger over the right side of his face.
Cameron mentally froze for a moment, Derek was concerned for her it seemed. 'Strange.'
"My sheath is regenerating at the correct rate and should be complete in a few days." She replied. "Thank you for your concern" she added as an after-thought.
Derek nodded slowly while scratching his stubble. "Alright, yeah." He said awkwardly before walking into the house.
Cameron watched him with a blank expression, however if she were one to express emotion around everyone other than John, would have watched Derek with a confused raised brow.
Cameron decided it be best to get the bar later, in case Derek saw it, with that thought in mind she turned and began a perimeter check.
"How's the leg Danny?" Sarah asked.
She and Danny were stood at their own makeshift firing range away from others who'd be afraid of gunfire. Danny was stood with a Glock in hand secured tightly in a two handed grip, his stance ready to take the recoil of the shot and to allow maximum accuracy and efficiency, just like Sarah had taught him.
"A little sore still, pain killers haven't kicked in just yet, but it's getting better as the days go by, thanks again Sarah." He said without taking his eyes away from his target, he squeezed the trigger of the Glock and fired off a shot narrowly missing the apple.
"Damn it." He sighed.
Sarah simply watched as he fired off more shots from the pistol.
"How do you feel about what you've done?" she asked softly.
"What do you mean?" he asked hesitantly, but he knew what she was talking about.
"You've taken human lives Danny, even that's a new one for me, we had no choice." She said again using the soft tone of voice.
"I know we had no choice." He sighed as he stood up straight. "But, I, I don't know, I'm not feeling too good about it. I panicked, everything just happened, I didn't think, I don't think I had time to think."
Sarah could see the pain in Danny's eyes, she knew that he felt worse than she did. She didn't like killing other humans either, this was her first time, and if things escalated the way they were, wouldn't be the last.
"I know how you feel." She said as she gazed out into the distance. "But it has to become instinct, either we die, or they do. If need be, I'd sacrifice the lives of thousands to save the lives of billions, I might not like it. Christ knows I hate that thought. But the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. We just have to keep that in mind."
There was a silence between them, a gentle wind blowing against their ears.
"Was it hard for you, after the first one?" he asked, she looked at him quizzically. "The first Machine." He explained.
Sarah looked back to the horizon thinking about the first few months after the death of Kyle Reese, the end of the first nightmare.
"It's something I never want to go through again." She said simply.
Life had been difficult to adjust to, going from Waitress – Damsel in Distress to go into the darker crueller parts of the world to start her training to become the woman she was now. Life was hard.
"You should be happy you're learning from me, for free." She said as she looked directly at Danny.
"I appreciate it, I really do." He said sincerely.
Sarah smiled softly and nodded her head. "I know, I know."
Danny walked back over to her and placed the Glock down.
"So what's next?" he asked.
Sarah looked across the varying weapons they'd brought then picked up an M4 carbine.
"This, the bullet velocity, range and rounds per minute is higher than what you've used before, try not to empty the magazine too quickly and keep your shots accurate and well placed." She instructed him before passing him the carbine.
Sarah followed Danny towards the firing range and helped him get accustomed to the weapon.
Danny extended the stock and placed it against his shoulder and aimed down the iron sights, his fired off single shots at the apple targets accurately but slowly.
Sarah watched him go through a few rounds nodding her head slowly, he was decent for the time being, not as good as the rest for obvious reasons, but better than he had been.
Eventually they packed up and put the weapons in the jeep, Danny sat in the passenger's seat and Sarah driving.
"How ugh, how am I coming along?" he asked hesitantly.
"Better, but I should expect that, you're not as good a shot as John …" she paused for a minute. "Well, you don't have the muscle memory of John, he hasn't had any practise in a while, but other than that, you're doing good."
Sarah turned her head to look at Danny briefly. "John's done this since he could walk Danny, not being as good as John isn't a bad thing, you came through for me at the Kaliba building, that's what counts." She said encouragingly.
"Thanks." Danny said quietly as he gazed out the window. "I just hope I'll be good enough to protect my family." He mumbled to himself quietly.
Because God knows, his family and the Connors seemed to be getting ever closer to war with Skynet before Judgement even started.
The journey had been longer than first thought. Then the waiting period longer. But now they were being seen.
'About fucking time.' Luna thought annoyed.
She walked through the door with her T-800 companion Tony, followed by three armed men who obviously thought had the upper hand if worst came to worst, Luna put her gaze onto the man sat infront of her at a desk, an aging man late 30s, mustache, stubble and unkempt hair, a cigar in his hand.
The man looks her over and smirks revealing his golden tooth before turning his gaze to Tony, who's unblinking eyes make the man feel nervous, he looks at his other men and notice their size is dwarfish by comparison to Tony's.
"May I help you?" the man says with a thick Mexican accent.
"I'm Luna, I called earlier we've done business before you knew my associates." She explained.
The man rolled his eyes to the top as he thought before it clicked.
"Ah yes, yes, I remember, I'm Milo." He placed his cigar in an ashtray. "Good gringos, where are they?"
"Dead." Luna said plainly.
Milo merely shrugged. "It comes to us all." He looked to his desk as he put on his reading glasses and skimmed through various forms till he found the one he wanted.
"Luna. 4 M4A1 styled carbines, 2 Barrett Sniper Rifles 50 calibre, M23 revolving grenade Launcher, 500 rounds of 5.56 NATO, 100 rounds of 50 BMG, and 60 40mm Grenades, 200 rounds of , 250 rounds of 9mm, and several fragmentation grenades." He listed off before looking up to her. "That right?"
"Yeah that's right." She replied.
"Couldn't get them." He said plainly.
"Then we have no deal." Luna replied and turned to leave.
"We did! However try and get the closest thing, if you're still interested." Milo replied quickly.
Luna paused and turned back around. "let's hear it."
Milo picked up his cigar and took another drag from it before blowing smoke into the air, he picked up a small glass and took a sip from it.
"We replaced the M4 rifles with AK74us not bad, instead of the Barrett we got a M14 EBR, got it in brand new, new shipment you see." Milo smirked. "Got you an RPG instead of the Grenade Launcher, all we had in stock. But the ammo is fine, anything exchanged we can give you the same amount." He explained.
Luna pondered for a moment then looked at Tony.
"What do you think?" she asked.
"It is an acceptable exchange." He replied.
"Alright fine." Luna conceded and looked at Milo.
"You got the money now?" he asked.
Without saying anything she produced the case with the money and placed it infront of him.
"Not bad chicka, not bad." Milo exclaims as he looks over the money. He then looks to his men and nods his head.
"Right this way." The man by Milo's right says as he opens a door.
Luna and Tony walk through the door followed by the right hand man, the door closes behind him.
Milo looks to his men and smirks.
The door bursts open as the Man comes flying through it followed by Tony carrying the man's Uzi, the other men in the room other than Milo raise their weapons to Tony only to be gunned down by the cyborg, his arm still stretched out the barrel of the Uzi smoking slightly he scans the room.
"Area clear." He announces as Luna walks back in furious, she storms up to Milo who reaches for his own gun only to have it expertly removed from his hand and rest in Luna's.
She placed the barrel of the gold plated Desert Eagle against Milo's head.
"You think you can fuck with me?" she asks angrily. "You think you can fuck with me? Take my money and try and fucking kill me?" she removed the gun and spits on Milo's face.
"Where are the guns, I'm in a good mood, I won't fucking kill you today, where are my guns." She ordered.
Milo looked at Luna terrified and still in shock of what had just happened, he looks around the room at the dead bodies then at Tony who stood as still as a statue.
"The guns are in the room you came from, in the corner, I swear." He said frantically.
"Tony check them." Luna said without taking her eyes off Milo.
There was a tense few moments with only the sound of heavy boots plodding along the concrete ground, then silence.
"The weapons are here as if the ammunition, I scanned the weapons, they're operational." Tony informed her.
"Get them, take them to the car, I'll follow you."
Tony slung the Uzi around his body via the sling and walked off into the room.
"You can't expect him to carry the weapons by himself chicka." Milo says cautiously.
She needn't reply as Tony came walking in carrying the crate the weapons were in.
"I have them." He said
"Alright lets go." She said as she unloaded the magazine from the pistol and ejected the round from the chamber and walked away from Milo, Tony kept his eyes on the man before following Luna out.
"I cannot believe that bastard tried that, I can't …" Luna let out a frustrated groan and kicked the sandy floor beneath her feet. "Can you fucking believe this?" she asked Tony
"No I cannot fucking believe this." he replied in indifferent monotone.
Suddenly gunfire erupted from behind them, some hitting Tony in the back making his body jolt.
"The fuck?" Luna said as she got down onto the ground.
Tony, still with the crate in his arms, turned to look behind him seeing Milo and a few other men firing at them.
"Get to the car, stay infront of me." He ordered Luna who happily obliged.
With Tony as cover Luna got to the car safely using it as cover while Tony carefully poured the guns from the crate into the trunk of the car and covered them with cloth.
"Keep down." He said before opening the car door and grabbing his two M23 pistols.
He turned back around and charged towards the group of assailants both pistols raised and fired upon them with accurate lethal shots.
The men dropped one by one as the failed to take down the charging goliath of a man, now as Tony slowed to a calm walking pace only Milo remained staring at the large man who's clothing had several small bullet holes protruding through them walked right up to him.
"Please, plea …" Milo tried to plead before a single round was fired into his head.
Tony calmly walked back to the car. "Area clear." He announced before getting into the driver's seat.
Luna opens the passenger door and stumbles into her seat panting slowly her eyes wide with shock.
Tony notices her disheveled look. "Were you injured?"
Luna shakes her head and simply stares out infront of her.
"I suggest putting on a seat belt, someone might alert the local authorities." He told her before starting up the car.
As Tony drove back to the safe house Luna had calmed down from the initial shock.
"Thanks back there." She said finally breaking the silence.
"Your gratitude is not required, my mission is to protect you as highest ranking officer." Tony stated.
Luna nodded slowly and let out a long deep sigh. "I froze, I can't believe I froze."
"You are not accustomed to firing back at humans, it's understandable." Tony replied.
"Mind if we take another detour?" Luna asked.
"I am already locating the nearest fast food restaurant." Tony said.
Luna turned to look at him incredulously, Tony in turn noticed her expression, looked at her and smirked.
"You're learning." She quipped finally smirking back at him.
"No problemo."
The air was heavy around him, light barely penetrating the darkness around him, a darkness he welcomed, he looked down upon her sublime figure sweat dripping from her brow covering her breasts her face flush with emotion and heat.
"John!" she gasped as he thrust into her. "Pay Attention!"
John snapped back to reality and looked up to see him biology teacher looking at him annoyed.
"Are we awake now Mr Baum?" she asked in annoyance.
"Sorry." He apologised half-heartedly.
The teacher got back on with her lesson as a few students snickered around John.
God he was SO bored! Biology sucked! He knew how to make babies!
'Me and my girlfriend have been doing the very thing for days now.' He grumbled mentally.
Maybe he was missing Cameron more than he thought, her company, her voice, everything.
'Damn John haven't been away from her for 6 hours and you're missing her like you haven't seen her in years. You got it bad.' Apart of him chastised him.
He didn't care, he loved Cameron, so what if he loved her to such a degree?
He glanced around the class, some people looked as if they were about to copy his previous action and fall asleep. 'Doubt they'd have good a dream.' He thought with a slight smirk on his face, he looked back to the teacher who continued to droll on about sperm and an egg.
'Now I want an omelet.' He grumbled quietly to himself.
He'd need to have a talk with Cameron when he got home, after he showed her how much he'd missed her today, that would take a while.
John cracked his stiff knuckles and stole a glance at the clock, the final hour was ticking down and he could hardly wait. 'Maybe I can convince mom to say I'm home schooled.' He thought to himself.
But no he could just imagine her reply. "Sure, just so you can snuggle up to the Tin Miss all day." She'd say, or something along those lines.
Not that she'd be far from wrong. 'Snuggled in bed maybe' he thought but shook his head. 'Dirty John, dirty.'
The lesson went on much too slowly for his liking, he found his mind going back to his dream, Cameron sweating beneath him before jolting back awake back to the lesson.
Finally the final bell of the school day, he could leave, he noted down the homework he was given, stuffed everything into his bag and ran for the door where he met Morris, and the new guy James.
"Hey John, you alright man you look exhausted." Morris said looking his friend up and down.
"What yeah, Biology." John grumbled.
Morris and James physically winced at the sound. "That sucks man." James spoke up.
"You're telling me." John grumbled
"Oh hey John!" Morris suddenly said excitement evident in his voice he grabbed John's arm and looked straight at him. "Halloween coming up man and there's gunna be a party at the school, you gunna come?"
John rolled his eyes in thought, it could be tempting. "Dunno man, I'll find out later. Maybe."
"Well it's invite only and they only got a few tickets left, you want me to get some for you and Cameron in case you do, if not you could always sell them." Morris suggested.
John thought it over once more and smiled a semi-genuine smile and patted Morris' arm. "Yeah that'd be great thanks Morris."
Morris nodded excitedly "Awesome. I'll get them, and I'll see you tomorrow John." He said as he ran the other way, presumably to get the other tickets.
John turned his head to James. "You going?"
"Yeah, sounds like fun." James said "Besides not got anything better to do." He admitted
The two boys said goodbye to one another before going separate ways.
John turned and walked towards home in silence. This was something he couldn't stand, being alone out in the open. He blamed his upbringing, and his paranoid Uncle and Mother. But after his experience with Cromartie, even now he felt some levels of fear.
'They really could be anywhere, could actually be looking at me and I wouldn't know.' He thought. He stopped dead in his tracks closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead with his finger and thumb.
"Great now I'm freaking myself out." He said sadly to himself. 'At least I'll be home soon.' He thought as he continued his journey at a faster pace.
Finally! He arrived at home, he opened the door checking to one more check over his shoulder for what seemed like the hundredth time.
He turned only to come face to face with Cameron.
"HOLY!..." he cried out in surprise before panting heavily.
Cameron tilted her head in surprise. "Are you alright?" she asked.
"The hell were you thinking coming up right infront of me Cameron?" he said in an aggravated tone.
Cameron flinched a little, though her face portrayed nothing she frowned sadly. "I'm sorry John, I won't do it again." She said before turning to leave.
As soon as the words had left his mouth he felt low, he could see the sadness in her gorgeous brown eye, hearing her words only sent another nail into his heart. John reached out and grabbed Cameron's arm as she turned around.
"I'm sorry Cam, please, I was just surprised, I'm sorry." He said as softly as he could.
Cameron for her part didn't walk away, nor did she move.
John wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck before leaning closer to her and whispered into her ear. "I really missed you today."
Suddenly Derek, Danny and Sarah came running in the latter and most former armed with a shotgun and pistol respectively.
"What happened?" Danny said before anyone else could.
"It's alright. It's alright, I just got spooked, Cameron made me jump, it's no big deal." He said quickly trying to defuse the situation.
This was the first time all three had seen John and Cameron being tender to one another. John with his arms around Cameron having a very human look of affection in her eye regardless of how stoic her face seemed.
"Alright." Sarah said hesitantly, but made no sudden move to lax her posture.
Derek too didn't lax but seemed to be shuffling back towards the basement of the house.
Eventually Sarah relented and walked back into the kitchen followed by Danny.
Once alone John kissed the back of Cameron's head.
"I really did miss you." He said.
Cameron turned around in his arms and smiled gently. "I missed you too." She said softly.
With that said the two lovers leaned forward and pressed their lips together in a heartfelt kiss.
"Mmm." John moaned as he pulled back. "I've been waiting for that since I left."
Cameron's smile only seemed to get bigger. "Me too." She admitted
"How long till you think you can come back into school?" he asked.
Cameron paused for a moment unblinking, John figured she was bringing up the information from her CPU.
"Approximately 5 to 6 days, I'm sorry John." Cameron said reluctantly, she herself didn't like leaving John alone, it was dangerous. Cameron noticed his upset look and tilted her head.
UNSATISFACTORY RESPONSE …
POSSIBLE ACTION TO COUNTERACT RESPONSE.
TAKE JOHN CONNOR TO BED.
CONTACT SCHOOL USING SARAH VOCAL FORMAT. EXCUSE JOHN AS SICK.
BOTH OF THE ABOVE.
ACTION THREE SELECTED! – BOTH OF THE ABOVE.
Cameron smiled to John.
"I'll call school, tell them your cold returned." She all the while her left hand began rubbing his chest.
John noticed the action and smiled at her. "You sure, wouldn't that be putting me on the radar?" he asked.
"It's October, statistics show the decrease in temperature is most likely to cause a cold." She informed him.
John didn't know nor really care if that was true. If need be he could use his phone to sort things out at school with Riley and Morris. So there'd be no problems with that.
"Well not even the great John Connor can argue with statistics, right?" he joked with a sly smile.
Cameron returned the sly smile. "Not this time, no." she leaned towards him and pressed her lips to his once more her tongue brushing against his lips and quickly pulled back before he could return the affection.
"Let's go to my room." John whispered before the couple made their way to the stairs.
Back at A.T's apartment the cyborg was looking over, cleaning and maintaining her weaponry.
"So you really liked Kyle and Derek?" Sofia asked as took a sip of her espresso.
A.T cleaned and oiled the ejection rod of her Ruger P100 revolver before reattaching it the cylinder assembly.
"I did." She said with a soft tone to her voice. "I've never actually thought about having kids of my own, not until recently that is." She gave the cylinder assembly a final once over before attaching it to the rest of the gun. "I never thought I'd be the type of … person?, being? Woman? The type of anything to have kids, to look after anything or anyone." She sighed sadly as the thought pressed against her CPU.
"You never know, mother of the apocalypse, maybe kids would be good for you." Sofia suggested with a shrug of her shoulders.
"Or cause me to try and self-terminate." She joked quietly. "Maybe. But I'd really like to meet the boys again." She smiled at Sofia.
"Yeah they're good boys, type of kids that make being a parent look easy … then you see OTHER kids." Sofia went quiet as she stared into space.
A.T looked at the women curiously. "Ugh, Sofia." No answer. "Sofia? You okay?" nothing.
A.T tapped her on the shoulder which seemed to jolt her from her memories. "You okay?"
Sofia shook her head and took another sip of coffee. "Yeah, yeah just, remembering something from a few years back. It was something that really put me off kids."
"Do I …" A.T began.
"No, no you don't, no you don't." Sofia replied.
The woman and the cyborg sat in silence, one confused and rather curious about what had happened, the other trying very hard to forget.
"Anyway." A.T said changing the subject quickly. "I won't be going out tonight." She announced.
Sofia looked at her surprised. "Really, like you run out of people to kill?" she asked almost hesitantly.
"No. No nothing like that." A.T replied noticing Sofia deflate. "Just that something else has come up, and It'd be best, your colleges are panicking, I noticed after the last target, they're response time is quicker, if I'm not careful I'll either have to become a master of stealth or kill all witnesses." She chuckled
Sofia only gulped. "So, I was curious." She began gaining only a "hmm?" from A.T in response. "Do you work alone other than the Greys or is there like a team with you?"
A.T actually stopped from her maintenance and turned around to look at Sofia with a look of amusement. "You've really been thinking." She chuckled.
"Right now, I'm working alone, I did have a partner, another Machine, but he's busy on a more permanent mission, otherwise no I'm not working with Greys, for my own reasons before you ask." She smirked knowing her friend was to ask why.
Sofia nodded slowly but she found herself still curious, she looked at the Machine quizzically before asking.
"There's something you're not telling me, isn't there?" she asked.
A.T merely chuckled quietly to herself. "There are a lot of things I'm not telling you, this though is important." A.T hadn't even turned to look at her friend.
"But why all the secrets?" Sofia asked shuffling up closer to the cyborg. "Why?" she repeated.
A.T put the gun down and sighed before sitting back against the couch.
"For your safety for one thing, for another …" she paused and looked at Sofia from the corner of her eye. "It's not something you wanna know, if situation changes to the point where I HAVE to tell you, or I might as well tell you, then I will, I promise." She leaned forward somewhat cursing humanity's curiosity. "Sometimes ignorance is bliss, just stay happy and somewhat ignorant, for me, please."
Sofia looked at the pleading look in A.T's eyes. "You promise you'll tell me if the situation changes?" A.T nodded. "Alright, fine, I won't ask any more questions." Sofia sighed, she was obviously frustrated.
"Thank you." A.T said with a genuine smile.
Finishing her maintenance of her weapons, A.T sat infront of her computer a connection wire going from the back of her head straight into the machine.

"It's nice out here." John said lazily he and Cameron had taken out one of the jeeps and drove to L.A. overlook, the sun was setting beginning to reveal a few sparkling stars in the darkening sky. "It's beautiful."
He and Cameron were now laid on the roof of the jeep staring up to the sky.
"It's the sky." Cameron said as she scanned it with her eyes.
John chuckled lightly. "You're really unique you know." He said in a soft yet caring tone.
Cameron looked at him curiously. "I know, Skynet only made one of me." She said.
"Not just that." John said through another chuckle. "As a person, you're unique." He turned and looked at her in the eye. "That's just one thing I love about you."
A loving yet small smile graced Cameron's lips. John smiled back at her with a similar smile before the two began leaning forward, their arms wrapping around one another and pulled each other into a loving embrace where their lips and tongues met in a heated moment of passion.
For now, all seemed well, nothing could go wrong.
Jason's Notes.
Hey everyone, sorry it took a while, but hey a new chapter just as I promised ^_^
A note about Cameron's healing. She's not healing slowly rather she's got a lot to heal. I'd like to thank all those who have been sticking to my story, I appreciate it.
As time goes on I will edit some earlier paragraphs maybe shortening them and making them read less awkward.
To all my friends and readers. Thanks again.
Your friend.
Jason Voorhees.
