Chapter Five
" Even if the time has passed.. is there something that would remain the same?... Even when we were filled with memories….. the spring has always visited me…. And….our special classroom; From here our friendship and love first began and grew…. … Gu Jun Pyo…..Yoon Ji Hu….. So Yi Jeong….and Song Woo Bin….; The F4. ….Sometimes, for us …. Even if the time changes ….we want to be something that never change….."
"F4 Let's meet!"
Yi Jeong was stepping out from his studio when he got the message from Woo Bin. A smile drew on his face when he was reading it. The F4 was going to meet, back in their old classroom.
As Yi Jeong, Woo Bin and Gu Junpyo entered the class they found their desks being covered with white drapes. They uncovered their desks and found their every belonging right where they had left.
" Nothing had changed, right?" it was Woo Bin while staring at one of his toys.
"Of course! What is there to be changed? This is our place and the MoBumJidae.." Jun Pyo was leaning on his desk.
Yi Jeong let out a smirk, " is it MoBumJidae? Instead of MuBupJidae?"
"Ye…ye… this or that!" Junpyo raised his voice, and again lowered it." It's still the same…."
Yi Jeong let out another smirk before they all sat down on their chairs.
" nothing has really changed here… " Woo Bin said again.
Junpyo was playing around with his toys and the other belongings he had left, when he opened the drawer and found the red wrapper still with its white ribbon around it. A smile drew on his face when reminiscing the Valentine's day on which Jandi had given him the chocolates.
"What is that?" Woo Bin noticed the Junpyo who was smiling to himself.
" None of your concern…" Junpyo immediately put it back in to the drawer.
" Where is Ji Hoo?" Yi Jeong asked after a while.
"Probably at his clinic.." Junpyo answered still concerned with his toys.
"Boh?...has he become that workholic?" Yi Jeong let out another smirk.
" ye…. Sometimes …..it even makes me think that I am workless compared to him…" Woo Bin went thoughtful.
"Who's workless here?" it was Junpyo again." I have got plenty of work to do myself.."
" boh ?" Yi Jeong let out another smirk, " so… is it just us who had got nothing to do?"
Junpyo pursed his lips and snapped his fingers before answering, " Just came to my mind….. I have got something to do…." And with that he stood up and walked through the door out of the classroom leaving Yi Jeong and Woo Bin to stare at him and then exchange a smile with each other before standing up and leaving the classroom after him.
"Yoh! Junpyo…. Thought you came to meet us!" Woo Bin cried out behind him. Yi Jeong let out another smirk,
" nothing has really changed after all.. has it? About we running after him scared of him doing something dumb?" Woo Bin let out a laugh with an approving nod.
"Agh! Where did that dork really go?"
"Shall we get him a call?"
"Mine's battery is dead."
"Then I'll_" Yi Jeong put his hand in to his pocket and did not find his phone. He looked up at Woo Bin, "think I have left it back in the classroom…I'll go and get it back …" with that he left back to the classroom leaving a friendly pat on Woo Bin's shoulder.
" Agh!..Arasso.. then, hide and seek it would be…" Woo Bin told to him self before letting out another smirk and going after Junpyo. Nothing has really changed…
Woo Bin went searching for Junpyo; he searched in their private lounge, the basketball court, the gym , the indoor swimming pool and everywhere he could think inside the school premises. And even in the university section, in the lecture halls or in the sports complex Junpyo was nowhere to be seen. At last when he was so tired that he badly needed a glass of water he went to the university kitchen, where from all the places he had searched, he found Junpyo. He found Junpyo….. grinning at whatever he was making and talking to himself while wearing a little red apron.
" what is this?..." Woo Bin let out a smirk." The great Gu Junpyo in the kitchen?…..this is new…" he came to look at what Junpyo was making. There were chocolates which looked like a girl with short hair. All the chocolates, the same girl with different expressions.
"who is it?"
" Ya… just go away.."
"Who is it?... isn't it Jandi?" Woo Bin let out another smirk.
"don't touch it!"Junpyo exclaimed.
"Yoh…it is Jandi…."
"Yah….yah!...just get out of here…" the embarrassed Junpyo chased him out of the kitchen and Woo Bin could not stop his laughter even when he closes the door behind him. It was indeed something interesting to report back to Yi Jeong, so he headed back to the classroom.
On the other hand when Yi Jeong was rushing back to the classroom he was paused by a sight of a little flower plant which was kept on a bench. He stared at it for a moment. It was a watery plant with little purple flowers. The flowers were, simple, tiny, beautiful and fragile. Their petals were transparent with innocence. The flowers only reminded him about one person, the one girl he had declared his love long ago in the cover of an act. He reminisced the night when he stood on the stage looking at all the girls and said;
There's a person in this room, who had completely stolen my heart….. and for that person I am… going to play my heart tonight…..
There was only one girl he knew with such simplicity, beauty and innocence. Just like those flowers their love was a yearning violent light. He was thinking a way to confess her and just when he saw those fragile flowers it came to his mind. He sent her a message asking her to come to the Shinhwa School, as it was almost the evening her work must had been over by now. Then he went to the class with a whole bucket of lavenders and white carnations. He remembered how he teased her about her believes about the soulmate….
Of course ! playboys like you won't understand it… but there's actually that person in this universe who would be your life's one and only true sareheong.
So…Ga Eulyang..have you met that person?...
Not yet…. But when I meet him…I won't ever let him go… because if you would loose someone like that, you would regret it the rest of your life…
He picked those flowers one by one and made a bouquet himself. The smile on his face never left while he was preparing that gift for her. It was one of his own rules that when you are preparing such a wonderful gift it must make you happy yourself. When he had finished making the bouquet he stood up to leave but stopped again looking at the bouquet. It seemed ordinary….and needed of something to make it not… He looked back at the table and found a polaroid camera. He took pictures of himself holding the bouquet and when he wrote the things about her that came to his mind, his inner Casanova self could not help but laugh while been drifted off. After sparing another single glance at the bouquet he left the room.
When he was heading out to the entrance of the ShinHwa school, memories of their precious moments came flooding to his mind … how he saved her from that reckless snow boarder….how she had shown him the message that day at sunrise….and..how they had almost….kissed….back at his studio…her care free laughter at their pretend date…all those memories came flooding to his mind.
He had asked her to stay inside of an elementary school building till he would come but when he reached it's door , it appeared to be locked…He was taken aback for a moment…and looked a bit stressed. He retreated on to a bench and with lowered head he waited for her. He seemed as if he was scared ,as if he had delayed again or as if he had wasted all of his chances for forgiveness….he was unsure and and stressed. He let out a sigh again looking at the bouquet. His arched back straightened when he heard her voice.
"Sunbae…. Am I a bit late?"
He looked back, his expression had a mixture of fear and hesitance, but when he saw her smile at him a smile drew on his face as well . It grew in to a grin when he gave her the bouquet of flowers.
" Ga Eul…would you, be my eternal flower?"
Ga Eul smelled the sweet scent of the flowers before looking back at him with a smile and a questioning expression.
"Eternal flower?"
"Ga Eulyang…. Haven't found your soulmate yet?"
"Sunbae….what if I have met him?" Ga Eul and Yi Jeong shared a smile before Yi Jeong came closer.
"Have you?" his lips twisted into another playful grin.
" Hmm.." Ga Eul nodded." But sunbae…he denies to admit it…."
"Boh?"
"Say it…"
"Boh?"
"sunbae….say it.."
Yi Jeong could not hold his smirk any longer. He smirked and he grinned which turned in to a sincere smile.
" Sarenghaeyo…. Ga Eulyang.._" he was silenced as he felt her lips in his. It took a moment for him to comprehend what she did and another one to wind his arms around her waist and pull her closer to bend down and ease her toes which was lifting her when reaching his lips. Their kiss was long and passionate. They had waited too long for it to be a simple peck on the lips. But it wasn't a deep one drowning in lust but instead soft and firm like a pouring rain. Ga Eul's hands clutched to the bouquet which was held between their chests. They, with their eyes closed and entangled in embrace did not notice a certain Woo Bin staring at them with an awe expression. Woo Bin again smiled and silently without disturbing them headed back to the classroom.
Even when the couple broke their kiss Yi Jeong's head was still bended down placing their foreheads on each other's. Their eyes stared deep at the other's as if looking deeper in to the soul, as on eyes its written that they were each other's forever. Yi Jeong pecked on her lips again and Ga Eul after a giggle returned the act. They exchanged another few pecks on the lips while in the embrace before a Guy Junpyo's voice made them a part.
"Don't you that is too much passionate for a school?"
"Aish! when did you come?" Yi Jeong asked with an irritated tone. Ga Eul on the other hand was terribly blushing with crimson cheeks.
"I was just passing by…" Gu Junpyo told with a careless tone and let out a smirk" when I saw you kissing a girl… it is the elementary section after all…" Yi Jeong glared at him and Gu Junpyo blinked his eyes when he saw Ga Eul.." oh! Arent you Ga Eul? You are really Ga Eul ? Jandi's friend ?"…
"Who else does she look like?" Yi Jeong asked with his annoyance growing with time.
" But…but .. haven't you two gone for a date before… Yi Jeong ah… you don't date the same girl twice… wish what had happened to your 'reputation' ?"
"Aish why did I really became friends with such a dumbass?" Yi Jeong murmured to himself while Ga Eul held her gaze down at the ground like a mouse caught up in a trap.
" can't you just mind your own business?... Any way what's in that box?" he asked while trying to change the subject.
"Ah… it's just nothing…" Junpyo switched his gaze aside .
" It doesn't look as nothing…looks more like a present.." Yi Jeong went closer to grab it.
" yagh!stay away… you'll destroy it! "
"Is it for Jandi?..yah! Junpyo..am I not the only one who had lost the reputation?" Yi Jeong let out another smirk before trying to reach it again.
"Stay back! I told you." Ga Eul could not help laughing at their childish acts and at last she awake her voice.
"Junpyo sunbae.. is it alright if we would come with you if you are going to meet Jandi?"
"Anniyo!" Junpyo exclaimed." I mean… if you two would come with me as well then….Woo Bin would be left alone." Yi Jeong let out a smirk understanding his true intentions.
" ye…. After all.. it is his birthday today…. Junpyo have you planned anything?"
"Aish…..we haven't even bought a cake?" both Junpyo and Yi Jeong went thoughtful for a moment before Ga Eul awake her voice.
" sunbaes could go and buy a cake. While I could bring Jandi .."
" boh?" the two boys uttered in unison.
" I could give the present myself.." Junpyo said
" Ye and aren't we supposed to go for a date now?" and Yi Jeong complained.
Ga Eul smiled."Junpyo sunbae could always give it to Jandi after the party." And with that she glanced at Yi Jeong and left.
"Agh!..where is that Jihoo…any way?" Junpyo let out a curse.
"ye.." Yi Jeong let out a sigh." If he was here we should have made him bring the cake…" he muttered to himself.
Night had almost fallen but Woo Bin was drifted away in thoughts. Gu Junpyo and Yi Jeong had returned back to the class and was playing a game of jenga, but Woo Bin was rather interested in one of his own toys.
" Hey Woo Binah.. why don't you come and play with us " Junpyo invited him. But without accepting the offer he went to them and destroyed the construction they had made. Yi Jeong and Junpyo flinched a bit before they shared a look,
"What is wrong with him?" Junpyo asked looking at Yi Jeong who in return shook his head.
Woo Bin went out and sat on the stairs, when seeing his friends moving on in their lives , he might have felt left alone. He recalled his first love.. a fragile girl she was, whom he had helped to move with the others, yet when she came to know about his family, who had left him saying that she was 'enough with his pity'. Of course Woo Bin knew it was hard for him to find love when according to his own words, that no one from the decent families doesn't even consider him to be human.
Yet there were people, some special ones who considered him to be human. Well, more than 'human' , they considered him as a friend and even more than a friend they considered him as a…. Brother. A smile always visited his face when he was thinking about them. While the four petaled cloverleaf played between his fingers he reminisced the times which he and his friends shine as the F4. Those times which he badly missed.
Arasso who would need any one else when you'd have such kind of friends? He stood up and went back to their class and seated on his chair. It appeared as if his friends had left already but Woo Bin thought to stay in the classroom for a little longer. While he looked at a photo of their younger selves he told to himself: F4… isn't just friends, but a family…. And it was the only family he ever wanted to be in….
Just then a cake was placed infront of him and Junpyo and Yi Jeong appeared from behind his chair.
"Boh?..you guys?"
"happy birthday.." Junpyo wished.
"Hurry up and blow up the candles " Yi Jeong said with a smile and Woo Bin did as he was said. He took a blob of icing to his hand and looked at his two friends and tried to put it on their faces. They successfully dodged it though when he was trying he felt a blob of icing on his own face . When he turned around he saw a Jae Kyung giggling at them.
" Arasso.. I did it …" she exclaimed.
" Yoh monkey when did you come here?" Woo Bin asked her while the other two stared at them with amusement.
" Aren't you glad to see her" Ji Hoo appeared by the door along with Jandi and Ga Eul.
" Happy birthday Woo Bin sunbae.." Ga Eul and Jandi bowed .
" all of you ?...ah!.."Woo Bin couldn't help but laugh.
"Wae ? you thought that we'd forget?" Yi Jeong hit him on the head which he dodged.
The rest of the night was filled with laughter while everyone of them made sure that everyone of them had icing on their face, it was fun and joyous. At last when the party was over Yi Jeong dropped Ga Eul at her place. And of course even when Ga Eul was going to sleep the smile on her face never left as the events of that day came to her mind . She touched her lips and reminisced their kiss, and of course the promise for the date. She was the one to decide this time, and she was more than excited about that. A mischievous smile drew on her face when she reached to her phone to make a call to Jandi.
