Marvel's Spider-Man: Mission Remnant

Having been Spider-Man for the past four years, a jaded Peter Parker has become a hero with no purpose. While initially attempting to retire from his career as a hero, Otto Octavius resurfaces from with a new ally found in Hydra. Trapped in a new world, Peter must rediscover his responsibility and symbol as Spider-Man, while gaining new allies for an upcoming crisis.

15. Spider-Man: Behind the Scenes

Hello everyone! I am back to continue you the story of Spider-Man! After nearly a year, I am pleased to say that new chapters for Mission Remnant will be underway. After uploading Chapter 12 the other day, it was very nice to see everyone's reaction. So, before we continue, I thought I'd give you all a run down what is to come...without spoiling everything.

End of the First Act:

To start off, I'd like to say that we're slowly reaching the end of the first act of this story. The idea is kind of to cement Peter and Otto's position on Remnant. With Peter at Beacon, and Otto with Hydra/manipulating Cinder. But it won't just be random villains trashing Vale, we're going to Atlas, and Beacon's gonna have a bit of a startle with a classic Spider-Man villain. All while bringing Volume 1 of RWBY to a satisfying end...with a bit of a revelation.

Marvel/Original Characters:

In the latest chapter, we saw Jaune Arc, set up to the plate, and become Remnant's incarnation of the US Agent. I had this idea from the beginning and changed many times. At first, I wanted him to become the host of the Venom symbiote, then I wanted him to be the Iron Patriot, before on the US Agent. Now Jaune will have mini story arc as the story continues, and this sets up the idea of other RWBY characters becoming incarnation of some Marvel heroes and villains. We will also be seeing several original characters later on, that will add a little twist.

Peter' Journey:

Next up I want to talk about Peter's journey in this story. From the beginning, we see that Spider-Man is far different from what we usually see in comics, games, and shows. This version of Peter is depressed, jaded, sad, prone to anger, and easily short-tempered. He has labelled himself "The Hero with No Purpose". He has lost nearly all of his family; Ben Reilly, Gwen Stacy, his parents, his uncle. The inspiration for my version of Spider-Man was Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man, Peter B. Parker from Into the Spider-Verse, and to some extent, Ezra Bridger from Star Wars Rebels. His journey is trying to understand the role of Spider-Man once more and gaining a new family ala Team RWBY and JNPR. However, there is more to it..

Who is the other Spider-Man?

Now we come to our final topic: Who is the new Spider-Man that saved Jaune? I came up with this idea to bring in another Spider-Man during the holiday season, and I must say I was very reluctant, and I still am. I have taken precautions to no divulge any information on who it is. But I think you'll all love it.
