Lucy and Sasha were sitting quietly on the bleachers, not moving an inch since their eyes were fixed directly on the book they were reading. It was It by Stephen King though Lucy thought there could have been a better name. Lucy smuggled the book from the library for her and Sasha to read, she manages to trick the others into thinking it was a princess pony book by replacing the book cover with another book cover, they had been entranced by that book for as long as gravity was invented. Lucy felt intrigued while Sasha was a little terrified, mainly the part where Georgie was left to die with one of his arms severed.
"Are you okay?" Asked Lucy in calm with a hint of caring in her voice. "Did this book scare you?"
"A little." Spoke to the little girl. Lucy didn't blame the little girl, anyone would be scared shitless reading this book, hell the film adaptation even scared her family once. They even forbade Luan from wearing a clown costume. She sighed in anguish just thinking about her family's simple happy memories that will forever be lost.
She looked up to find Lincoln playing board games with his friends who seem to be arguing at Chandler about his white hair. Then she turned her head towards Lily, being held by Chloe as the latter was singing a lullaby at the young loud. She sighed again, she was now thinking about her older sisters and imagined them opening through the door of the gym and giving her and her other siblings a hug.
But instead, it was some random guy burping as he goes.
Suddenly, she doesn't feel like reading anymore. Sigh. No other kids in this school she wanted to talk to. Her friends like Haiku and the morticians club were all gone now and were probably rotting in an unknown place. Sigh.
Of course, there was still Sasha with her and she was quite fond of the little girl and would always help her expand her vocabulary during the literature period. One time, Sasha was given a task to make a poem about spring and would write non-existent letters to match the other word before it.
"Lucy?"
"Yes." Spoke the goth girl, snapping out from her trance.
"Wanna go do something else?" Sasha asked with a faint smile. "Like going to the vents or to the library to read more books or both whichever you prefer."
Lucy put a finger on her chin and pondered for a moment. Should she? She never really did anything other than the things Sasha just said. She never really done anything since she and her sisters first arrived here other than hiding under the bleachers to read her novel. However, she won't be alone so it was a nice change.
"Sure thing, I've got nothing better to do anyway," Lucy said.
"Cool," Sasha said happily like her spirits were lifted up.
"I'll go tell my brother first." Said Lucy. She walked over to Lincoln and seemed to arrive at the wrong time as now Lincoln and his friends were talking about something she should not know until she's older.
"Lincoln," Lucy spoke, causing the white-haired boy along with the other boys to nearly jump out of their seats in fright.
"Damn it pull a bell on her next time." Glared Chandler but Lincoln ignored him.
"Hey, Lucy what is it?" Lincoln asked who was recovering from the previous shock.
"Me and Sasha are just going to walk around the school, is that okay?"
Lincoln was a bit unsure. "I don't know Lucy, there are a lot of teens out there who are very rude and I don't like them."
"We'll hide from them and make sure they won't see us."
"Alright.." Lincoln said, still unsure. "But hurry back okay?"
"We will." Said Lucy and walked away.
"Alright, Sasha let's go," Lucy said.
Joy is the only emotion Luna was feeling when she saw Sam. It was probably the first time she felt such emotion since she found out most of her siblings were okay. Rushing over to give the girl a big hug.
"Sam!" Luna said happily as she continued to hug Sam unaware she was hugging her too tightly where she required spinal surgery, thankfully she was able to notice and let go of her but still grab a hold of her hand and stroke it oh so tenderly. "You're okay."
"Why wouldn't I be?" Sam replied with a smile then she turned to Luna's sisters and waved. "Hi, guys."
Both Lynn and Luan waved back. They both knew who Sam was ever since Luna introduced her to them one month after they sent Valentine cards to their respective crushes. "A reunion I see." Stan spoked.
"They're together before the blast." Said Lynn. "It's really cute actually."
Stan nodded.
As both girls continue to talk, Sam asks what Luna and her sisters were doing here and where they came from with Luna answering all of them immediately. Both Lynn and Luan thought of their loved ones. Lynn thought about Francisco, they both began dating after she confessed their love together following the Valentine fiasco, however, over time they just sort of not really getting into it and just decided to remain, friends, until the time was right. Only that time never came, she still remembers him lying in a pool of his blood not responding while she ran to get to the elementary school.
Luan smiled sadly at the sight and reminded her of Benny. She remembered him being sick during the blast and stayed home. She remembered that day when Benny signed up for a play about Romeo and Juliet with Benny playing the lead role of Romeo and she tried her damn best to play Juliet. It was funny looking back. Nevertheless, she missed him and wished he was still here and hugged her like Luna and Sam right now.
As if her prayers have been answered. Another teen emerged from the gym door.
"Luan." Luan lifted her head in confusion and froze at what she was seeing.
Walking out from the doors was none other than Benny Stein. He stared at Luan with a small smile.
"Benny!" Luan screamed happily as she lunged straight towards the boy for a koala hug. "You're alive! But how, weren't you at your home when the blast happened?"
Benny then told her he and her mother went to see the doctor and get him a flu shot until the blast happened and his mom turned crazy and attacked him, he ran away to find more adults who were just like his mom and how he was found by Brock and his crew.
Stan stared at the four in awe and for a moment forgot he argued with the louds. Looking at Luan and Benny almost reminded him of someone…
"I'm just glad you're okay," Luan said then kissed Benny on the lips.
Lynn blew a raspberry at the sight she was seeing, she made no move to break off their reunion. Cooper would make side glances towards Lynn and turn to Luan and Benny once she caught looking at her.
Jake began to grow impatient. He came here to get the job done, not some love reunion or some shit.
"Can you guys wrap this up? We need to go."
"Sorry, Sam but I've got to come back to the elementary school, can't leave my other sisters back there waiting all day." Said Luna before putting a hand on Sam's shoulder. "But I promise to come back again If I can."
As Luna was about to go. "Wait," spoke Sam. "I-I wanna go with you."
"Huh?" Said a confused Luna.
"I said I wanna go with you, Luna," Sam then blurted. "Take me with you."
"But Sam, aren't you comfortable around here? And what about Simon?" Luna said.
"Luna, I haven't seen Simon since this all happened and when I came here all of our friends are dead Lunes," Sam said bluntly "And while yeah it's great in here, but I'd rather stay with you than here."
"Sam…" Luna said who was touched by Sam's words.
"Please, Luna let me go with you, I don't care what it takes."
"What's going on?" Stan said, confused. Luna turned to the rest of the group and asked if Sam could come with them and she explained her reasoning.
"Well, we could use a little bit more help once we come back to the elementary school," Stan said.
"I want to come!" They turned to see Benny.
"Let me guess because of her?" Stan said pointing at Luan and the two young couples nodded.
Jake sighed In frustration. "Goddammit." He muttered loud enough for Cooper to hear who quietly snickered causing the former to shot a dirty look at the latter.
"Well, the more the merrier," Jeremy joked then his face turned a little more serious. "That of course you two know how to defend yourself out there."
"Oh, yeah I'm good with hitting stuff, I even smash an adult with my guitar once." Sam proudly proclaimed. Benny meanwhile had very little experience in fighting but he was willing to do anything to survive out there.
"Alright, go and get your weapons while we go to Brock."
They went to Brock and told them that both Sam and Benny were coming along with them. When Brock asked the reason Luna told him just as Sam and Benny returned to the group holding weapons, the former with a katana sword while Benny held a machete.
"Heh, it's like they always say love always prevails." Brock joked. "Alright but promise them both they'd be safe, wouldn't wanna let one of those two get killed out there."
"Sorry that I don't have anyone to help lead you back to your place." He said as they reached the front doors of the school. "Jay, Eric, and Franklin are tired. Plus, no one else wants to leave.
"Water under the bridge, Brock," said Stan, then a thought popped into his head. "Have you seen any other groups around here?"
Brock thought about his question for a moment.
"Well, there is one group," he said with slight uncertainty. "They reside at that one small church," Brock told them the street name which is James Field Road where it could be found. "I don't remember who they were again but I do remember one of them was Zeke."
"Zeke, huh?" Stan said. "Of course, that dude was the most religious guy in the class next to our religion teacher that is. Always Holding The Bible in his hand and kids would mock him calling him a Zeke the Zealot despite not being one."
"I also heard he would lift weights." Jeremy chimed in.
"I think I know who that guy is," Luna spoke with a grunt. "That dude kept telling me many times that my choices will lead me to a dark path that sends me straight to hell."
"Well, in that case, let's stay the hell away from that church," said Luan, making the group laugh.
"Classic." Said Benny.
Brock opened the door and wished them luck as they ran back out into the new world.
"Alright I got one," Said Sasha excitedly. Both she and Lucy continued walking around the school. They worked on writing poems just to pass the time.
Like a shadow in the moonlight.
The whispers of seas.
Like stars that align.
Just beyond our reach.
"Very good, perhaps you can work with the "star that aligns" part," Lucy said while Sasha took a mental note on that. As they were walking, they heard a tiny footstep coming towards them.
"Sasha?" Spoke the voice of a little girl. They both turned and spotted Sally holding a stuffed teddy bear in her arms looking very curious at the two.
"Oh, hi Sally," Sasha spoke happily.
"You two know each other?" Asked Lucy.
"Before you came here, me and Sally would hang out but she gets bored whenever we talk about poems," Sasha explained. Lucy nodded seeing the physical similarities between the two, they almost look like twins.
"Where are you two going?" The little girl asked.
"We're gonna walk around the school." Said Lucy.
"Wanna come with us?"
"Sure, It's really boring without my big brother here." Said Sally.
"Awesome, then let's go." Said Sally and with that, the three went off on a little journey around the school. Surely there isn't any danger secretly lurking beneath the place.
People say that talking to yourself is normal. Like out loud, not just under your breath or in your head. But what about the words you say when you talk? Is that normal? Those were all of Zeke's cacophony of thoughts. He sat eyes-closed in an angel position over an altar quietly meditating.
Kill
What?
Girl
What are you saying?
School
I don't know what you are implying, stop it.
His chest heaved and his body shook. Almost breaking his concentration. For over a month since the world embraced armageddon. Zeke had been hearing these strange thoughts that used to appear very often since the blast but only hears it from time to time after a few weeks. It usually says weird things such as Give it to me or That's mine. This time, however, it came rather very odd and cryptic.
Group, School, Kill, Kill them all, Scientist.
Scientist? He knew a few scientist in town but he wasn't certain they'd still be alive, In fact, how could there still be scientists if the world had been destroyed? And who is this girl? Is she the scientist? and what about this school? He was so immersed in his thought that he was unaware a girl was walking up towards him. She had dark brown hair that streamed behind her shoulder and wore a dirty blue shirt and black pants.
"Don't bother wasting your time talking to that Zealot, Mary, It's not worth it." Spoke to a kid from afar. She ignored that kid and proceeded to where she was going.
"Ezekiel?" Spoke the voice of a teenage girl. Zeke opened his eyes and turned to see a short girl with long dirty blonde hair that looked like it had never been washed for years.
"Greetings, Mary," Zeke said stoically.
"Whatcha doing?" Mary inquired now sitting beside him.
"Oh nothing, just a lot going inside my head that's all." Zeke's voice slowed at that last part.
"What kind of stuff?" She asked. "Did you spoke to God," She smirked with amusement.
"I can see why you'd think that due to the past month of me talking while I meditate," Zeke jokes. "Look, just go play with Matt or the other teens okay?"
Over to the corner where a group of kids ranging from 8 to 15. To the left was Mary's little brother Matt sitting in one of the pews with another kid slightly older than him with blonde hair, a green vest, and dark green pants and shoes.
"Sure, just let me know if you want to talk," Mary said then headed back to the other teens.
Zeke was left alone once more and continued his meditation finding out what these thoughts meant. All he knows right now is that there are a group of kids that came from a school with a scientist with them and he must kill the scientist and everyone she's with. His thoughts were interrupted once more when a sound of heavy banging came from the door. Causing everyone to panic.
"Shit!" Someone shouted.
"They're here!" shouted another.
Zeke stood up with Mary standing right next to him in fear. Their fear however was changed to confusion when screaming was heard from outside. Not screaming like demonic scream as the adults made. It was that of a normal person.
"What do we do?" spoked one of the teens guarding the door.
"Open it," Zeke told them.
To say Luna and the elementary school group were afraid of going outside where adults are roaming around was a big understatement. Scared shitless was much more appropriate. A howl of wind sent shivers down their spine even Lynn's hand was shaking with fear. Not even 10 minutes since they left middle school with two new members joining them and now something was approaching them. Everyone looked at each other with a worried glance. Luna and Luan gave each other worried looks then to Lynn who was gripping her face tightly. I'm not scared.
Benny and Sam held their respective weapons tight. Cooper held his sword at ready. Just then, a strange smell began to fill their nostril and they flinched. It was horrible. Like what you smell from a meat shop it was unpleasant.
"Jesus, where's that smell coming from," Jake asked.
Luna and Luan gave Lynn accusing looks who the latter shook her head in annoyance. "I'm not even close to smelling like that." And it was true.
"I think I know," Stan spoked with dread, loud enough for the rest to hear him. He pointed his fingers to the left. Jeremy's legs began to wobble jelly; his brows crinkled in a weird triangular shape. He was just one yard away from crying. Jake was quite the opposite but still showed the same once of dread as Jeremy had. His legs were screaming at him to run the other way. Turning his head toward Stan and asked. "What do we do?"
Stan craned his head finding a way to not get attracted by them, the teen looked to his right and spotted an alleyway and a dumpster. He told the group to follow him in that specific direction and did so very carefully. Jeremy's hands shook and his eyes becoming more glassy as time had passed causing him to trail slightly behind from the group. Stan went up to the boy to calm him down but made only a little progress as the teen becomes more fearful. They made it into the dumpster and took a peek at what was happening.
Everyone stared at the sight with dread. A large group of adults holding various body parts that were either a leg, an arm or a severed head. One of the adults held a severed head to a girl like Hamlet holding a skull and contemplate death and suicide hence the phrase "To be or not to be". Right now, Stan really begins to contemplate what Hamlet was thinking. The adult tore her lifeless tear-filled eyes then her reddish forehead, kinda like taking a bite from an apple.
Luna in particular felt like she could vomit at any moment, she wondered how she hadn't done so a month after the green mist. Luan couldn't watch this carnage and looked away tearfully as Benny hugged her tightly letting her face buried in his chest. Lynn knitted her eyes with a fierce look of determination as she held the handle of her weapon ready to attack.
Jeremy's hand shook, almost dropping his weapons, his eyes becoming glassy and his face began to sweat. This was too much. Pretty soon his entire body began to shake like there was an earthquake around his body. He took a step back before letting out a wail.
Tears began to flow through his face; his lips began to quiver. This is fucked up, I knew we shouldn't have left the middle school in the first place, fuck Duke for even think about letting us go out all on our own! Jeremy placed both his hands into his head as claustrophobia gripped him. The rest shushed the boy but to no avail.
"Jeremy what the fuck are you doing!?" Luna whispered harshly at the panic-stricken teen. Benny, Sam, and Luan looked with the same panic tone as Jeremy but made no move to scream.
Stan tried to shush him but failed as Jeremy continued to panic like that guy from Final Destination. "Jeremy, look at me! It's okay we're gonna be safe,"
But that only made the boy's panic meter go even faster as he grabbed Stan's shoulders telling him We're all gonna die, Stan!
"Jeremy shut the fuck up!" Jake whispered harshly at him but even that wouldn't work.
"Damn it, man, your gonna get us caught!" Lynn whispered harshly. His legs no longer have the strength to work and he just promptly collapsed.
"We never should have left outside in the first place, I can't take this I can't, I can't I-" His panic attack was cut short when the lid of the dumpster shot open and a large trash-covered man shot out with a demonic screech grabbed Jeremy's wrist and chomped on it tearing his hand off almost immediately.
Jeremy screamed in pain much to the horror of Stan and the rest of the group. Stan rushed quickly to his aid and smack the adult with his mace, killing it almost entirely. Jeremy falls to the floor as Jake quickly caught him.
"Jeremy!" Stan cried out prompting the others to help the injured teen.
"Jeremy? Jeremy you there?" Jake said in distress then glanced at his bloody stump. "Shit it's bleeding so much."
"You think?" Sam said.
Luan and Benny turned to their back to see the adults marching towards them. A huge knot formed deep in their stomach as Luan held Benny by his arm.
"They're coming!" Benny shouted at the group. Stan, Luna, Jake, and Lynn all carried Jeremy up draping an arm around each of their necks with Lynn placing a piece of fabric into his wound. Stan urged the group to run towards the other end of the alleyway only to be met with another group of infected. Panicking, he tells them to turn around running through a narrowed gap between them and the adults. Lynn asked Sam to help Jeremy while she and Cooper take care of business.
"There's too many of them!" Luan cried out in terror.
"Quit being a baby and help Lynn and Cooper. Get your boyfriend to help them." Stan shouted at her. Tensing up, she raised her scimitar as a man ran up to her. Shaking and closing her eyes she brought it down as hard as her arms can handle cutting a diagonal line on the man's face. Blood began to ooze out from his eyes as the tip of his nose fell off to the ground. Luan couldn't take it anymore. Dropping to the ground and sobbed uncontrollably.
Luna shouted her sister's name letting go of Jeremy's hands and ran towards her. Jake and Stan yelled at Luna to come back and help them as they both staggered to keep their friends to his feet. Luan remained to paralyze at her place placing both her hands in her face as the man tried to make another grab on her. She stopped shaking when the man didn't make any scream. She looked up to see the man completely headless and fell to the ground like a bag of dirt. Benny stood with a bloody machete with a hardened face. No remorse for what he did but showed a bit of fear for Luan's safety.
"Come on!" He urged her letting out a hand and grabbed it. The warm and calm touch that radiates from Benny contradicts the cold and frightened vibe Luan had. They both ran to find the others. As if on cue, Luna arrived and thanked Benny for saving Luan.
"Your sister is fine," Stan yelled uncaringly. "Jeremy ain't so help me goddamnit!" Luna hurried back to Stan and continued to help Jeremy. Lynn and Cooped continued to fight off against the adults. Cooper swung his sword against an infected woman, slicing her torso causing her upper body to fall. Lynn bashes three adults in the head shattering their skulls. Then, the woman who Cooper killed a while ago was still moving and grabbed her leg causing her to scream. Cooper rushed towards her and sliced the woman's head off.
"Stay dead!" Cooper shouted then ran towards Lynn and asked if she was alright.
"Of course I'm fine!" Lynn said.
"Just making sure," Cooper smiled making Lynn roll her eyes. They looked back to find even more adults coming up they both ran towards the others who were moving slower than usual because of Jeremy.
"S-Sorry," Jeremy let out. Stan just shushed him, telling him he's going to be alright.
Lynn grunted. "We can't keep going like this, Jeremy is slowing us down!"
"Fuck you, Lynn!" Stan shouted. Before Lynn could jump up and punch his gut, Luan shouted. "There!" And pointed at the church a few yards down the road."
"Brock did say there were people in there," Sam said. "What do you think?"
"Only one way to find out," Cooper responded before he and Lynn came running towards the gate and slashed them until they were open. They ran through the door and began to furiously bang the door as the adult were only a few meters apart. Lynn and Cooper stood together shoulder to shoulder ready to face any monsters who come to close. After a few knocks, the door finally opens with the group quickly rushing inside. Once inside they all made a sigh of relief as the door behind them was closely followed by someone placing a metal bar between the door handles.
The room around them was dimly lit by candles and the church group looked wide-eyed at the newcomers.
"Stan?" One girl spoke.
Stan looked up and immediately recognized her as Mary Harper, a very close friend of his but he ignored her for now. One, in particular, was a small chubby boy with blonde hair who looked directly at Sam. He would have taken a step forward to introduce himself but thought it was bad timing since he saw the group had an injured teen without a hand.
"Help us!" Stan shouted. "My friend's hurt."
They looked at each other in remorse.
"Well, don't just stand there do something!"
"I'm sorry, friend but I'm afraid there's nothing we can do for him," A voice spoke up. They turned to see a tall teen wearing a pair of round glasses.
"Zeke," Stan said.
"It seems as though none of us are well equipped to deal with such daunting task," Zeke spoke with remorse. "Hello, Stan thank the lord that you made it out alive."
"Figures," Stan said sarcastically just as the adults outside began to pound at the doors.
Everyone yelped with fear.
"Oh, good heavens you seemed to have attracted the inheritors."
"The what now?" Sam said.
"We call them Inheritors after a theory we came up that whatever this virus was it invaded the adult's body. Also because one of us found it a good idea to call it that because of a book by William Golding he was reading," Zeke told them.
"Uh, can I maybe borrow that book," Luna asked sheepishly before getting slapped by Lynn.
"Please!" Stan begged. "Jeremy is dying!"
Zeke furrowed his brows in despair then hummed in thought before reaching out both his hands. "Let me." He said and lifted Jeremy then into the altar to examine his hands. He paused for a moment before turning to the right to find a piece of white cloth laying next to the seats. An idea popped inside him. He grabbed the cloth and ripped it in two, next he grabbed a tube of rubbing alcohol on the corner of a flagpole then back to Jeremy, whose arm continues to leak out blood despite the cloth Lynn wrapped around it. Part of him hoped to God this would work but the other wasn't so optimistic.
"Now Jeremy, this is gonna sting so please bear with me," Zeke applied alcohol on Jeremy's stump making the boy cry out in pain while the others cringed. He then used the torn cloth and gently wrapped it around his stump. Sam took a step back not wanting to see any more blood. Luna and another girl both accompanied her.
"You good?" Luna asked calmly.
"Probably," Sam told her. Just then, she felt someone was hugging her from behind, almost startling her as a result. She first assumed it was Luna until she walked up next to her Turning around and could only gasp when she find who it was.
"Simon!" Sam exclaimed recognizing the small pudgy 8-year-old face of her little brother.
"Sam!" Simon cried as he jumped onto his sister for a koala hug.
"I thought you were dead!" The young rocker cried.
"I thought you were dead!" Simon said as both Sharps hugged each other tightly. Luna didn't wanna interfere and just smile warmly at them. Zeke applied the last of the cloth onto Jeremy making sure no blood leaked out. He gently stroke Jeremy's forehead making sure he was okay. He indeed was. Zeke let out a sigh then turn to an anxious Stan whose face lit with uncertainty.
"This was the best I could do," Zeke said before getting pushed by Stan who ran up to Jeremy who was breathing normally.
Oh, thank god Stan thought. Before he was about to hug him, the door banged furiously making everyone jump.
"That must be the one with the sledgehammer," Zeke calmly said with a fearful expression.
"W-Were trapped!" Luan cried hugging Benny tightly.
"This can't be happening, Is there any exit around this place?!" Luna cried out.
"Hmm..." Zeke pondered as Luna continued to ramble.
"It didn't have to be like this, our siblings are still in elementary school!" She then list out all the names of her siblings and one of them was Lisa.
Zeke's eyes widen. Lisa? He heard about the name Lisa Loud before, she was the smartest in the loud family. Known for her outlandish inventions that end in explosive results. He thought back to the voice he heard from earlier. Scientist, he remembered scientist was there. Lisa was a scientist he even heard she made a giant squid once. Girl, Lisa was a girl that or unless she changed her gender. School, Luna said they were still in the elementary school just like what the voice said. Group, it started to make sense. The girl was Lisa who was a scientist currently in the elementary school. Now all that's left is...Kill. Kill Them All. If the voice truly was God sending him a message then he must obey. I have to kill her...
Desperate to find any way of escaping. Zeke checked every corner of the building.
"What are you doing?" Lynn asked in confusion as Zeke went for the lounge area.
"I saw it before I don't know if it's actually...aha!" Zeke opens a secret passage beneath a fireplace. "Everyone, in here!" Zeke said.
"You didn't know that thing was there?" Asked Lynn and Zeke simply nodded.
"Zeke you're a genius!" Luna said as the entire group ran towards him only for Zeke to stop them.
"The only problem is that it will only fit one person. So we have to go one by one." Zeke told them just as another bang was heard.
They started from smallest to biggest until it was just only Zeke, Luna, Lynn, Luan, Stan, and Jeremy.
Having no time for them to escape, Zeke told them that one of them has to stay behind to distract the adults. The rest looked at each other grimly. Luan asked if there was any other way.
"I'm afraid there is no other way," Zeke coldly states. Jeremy looked at the door then to Stan with a sad look on his face. He knew for a fact that his time wouldn't last long. What Zeke did, while he truly did do his best to help him, only delayed his inevitable. And plus, what does he have to live for? His parents are dead his baby sister is probably dead and this world had lost any chance of returning to the way it was.
Getting up with a scared yet determined look. "Leave me," Jeremy told them. Stan turned to him in shock.
"W-What?!" Stan stuttered. "Are you crazy?"
"Just go!" Jeremy shouted.
"Jeremy, no I don't there has to be another way anything!"
"Please Stan, save yourself," Jeremy quietly told him.
"No, no, no!" Stan spoked, his face beginning to turn red as tears began forming in his eyes.
"Come on Stan, just leave him!" Luna shouted.
"Fuck you, Luna," Stan shouted at her. "If Jeremy never found you in the road, you'd be torn to piece by Brick and his gang!"
Luna knew he was right. Had it not been for Jeremy, she and her family would never have made it this far. As much as she didn't wanna leave Jeremy behind, she also didn't wanna die. She looked at Lynn and Luan, both having sad looks on their faces then back to Stan.
"I'm sorry..." She quietly whispered loud enough for everyone to hear.
"No, please!" Stan cried then looked at Jeremy giving a nod.
"It's okay," Jeremy said to him with a faint smile on his face.
"I'm so sorry Jeremy!" Stan looked up at Jesus nailed to a cross. "Please, Lord forgive me,"
He ran quickly with the rest of the group not wanting to look back at Jeremy cause if he did so he would come back and joined with him. He didn't want that. He had a sister waiting for him and he doesn't want that doesn't he? He made it to the lounge just as Zeke went inside. Once he was next, he descended footholds that stuck above the concrete wall and placed a cover above him, closing it and darkness took over him. Another bang was heard once more as a chunk of wood fell to the floor as he could see a hammer on one of the holes. Jeremy walked slowly with both his now one arm up in the air. Despite being tired, no weapon to defend himself and probably going to pass out. He still holds on. Waiting for his end to come. Before the adult came for him. he thought back to what his life would have been before this all happened. He always dreamed of becoming famous on the internet, he wanted to become a vlogger. Guess that dream won't be a thing now. The only thing he can hope for is that Stan and the rest were okay.
Little did he know he was glad he wouldn't see what become of them especially his best friend.
Speck observes the haunting display around him unfold. Kids running away from the adults. One of them had his arm bitten as the rest struggled to drag him along. They reached a church and were quickly let in. Good for them he thought. But it won't last long now since those zombies about to break inside.
His chest began to heave in fear once a gigantic adult holding a sledgehammer appeared.
"The Tower," Speck said to himself. "That's what you will be called,"
The Tower walked up behind them, shoving anyone that stood his way then stop right next to the door and began to swing his sledgehammer against it going full-on The Shining on it. After a few whacks, the door caved in and The Tower kicked it and stepped aside as the adults began to pile inside.
Speck's body shivered. Expecting to be a blood bath as kids screamed in terror as they are being dragged out to meet their untimely faith.
But it was barely from what he thought.
The Tower came back outside carrying the kid from earlier who had his hand bitten off now with a bandage wrapped around it. Only this time, his body had been mangled up, possibly due to the adults. The Tower's face flashed in anger, his teeth bared. He carelessly threw the kid on the ground and with one swing from his hammer. He slammed it on the kid's head, drawing blood and brain matter everywhere lastly he picked up the kid yet again and threw him to a pile of other dead kids. The adult came out of the church in disappointment that there weren't any kids they can feast on.
What the heck? Where are all kids? Was there a secrete exit in that church? And if so...Then they just left that poor kid behind.
Such a shame. They could have saved him from getting killed and choose not to and saved themselves. Just thinking about that made Speck laugh sarcastically.
Ironic.
I could have done something as well, I might have lured them into this shop and give the group time to escape. But you didn't do that Speck, you have to look out for yourself. Just like the kids had when they abandon the injured kid currently getting mauled at by the adults.
He gave a sad sigh and went back inside. So this is the life we are living now, huh?
Chris and his gang were on the move. Gathering a whopping three hundred adults and still not enough for Chris. If he wants to take over the world he needs to have thousands and thousands of army he can find. Reminds me of the U.S army Chris thought. A building came into sight. It was a school. Beaverton Elementary school.
Wooden objects were boarded around the windows. By squinting his eyes, Chris could see kids peeking out. He could tell they were petrified.
He smiled and ordered everyone to start prying off the boards to get at the delicious meals that waited inside. The adults tore off the boards and made their way into the school. The screaming tone of the youngs can be heard as the bits and pieces of the school fell apart.
Chris buckled his arms within his waist and smiled at the sight before him. No one knows about this, though he doubts anyone knew him personally, he was always a bit of a sadist. Enjoying the pain of his victims as they are eaten and he could show this pleasure freely now.
"The most beautiful sound in the world. Kids screaming." Chris said.
Crony nodded.
"How come no one thought to tear the boards off before?"
Because most of the adults here hadn't eaten in days. Meaning that they weren't smart enough to think of doing that. But with you leading them, there's nothing we won't be able to accomplish.
Chris howled with laughter like a wolf in a full moon.
Just then a tall fair-head boy came out from a ruble with blood on his forehead and tears streaming in his face shooting directly at Chris and let me tell you, he looked angry.
"You!" The teen shouted.
"What's the matter, kid? Did I kill your friends or siblings? Must be sad to be all alone like a fucking hobo am I right?" Chris joked.
This made the teen even angrier as his knees bent, he was like an angry bull and Chris was the red flag ready to strike.
"Round two, eh?" Chris smirked he had a lot of fun beating the ever-living fuck out of that other teen from earlier he wouldn't mind beating the fuck out of a second one. He cracked his knuckles and made hand gestures at the teen telling him to come at him. With a flailing nose and gritting teeth, the teen charged at him ready to use all his might against the smiling adult.
Only to be punched in the gut.
"Come on boy, that's all you got?" Chris mocked. twirling his fist in a comical fashion. The teen got up again with a yell and managed to hit Chris in the right cheek.
"Ah, that's more like it." Chris mused in delight before hitting an upper right hook on the teen and he gave one right back. Chris was about to land a dropkick on the kid but the kid fucking dodges it and rolled back like a boulder. He then picks up a rock and throws it at Chris who catches it like a ball and throws it right back, this time not being so lucky as it hit the kid square in the nuts. The kid yelped and fell to his knees. Chris smirked and landed one final blow to the boy's pimple-covered face with a single punch before dropping to the ground. Chris walked away and telepathically ordered his men to finish the kid.
He would go from town to town, from county to county, from city to city, from state to state, recruiting adults and devouring all the children he could get his hands to, and if he were lucky he'd pick up a fight with a teenage boy and leave him to the ground bruised and bodied as the adults surround him like this kid right now.
Everything would belong to him.
