A/N: Hey everybody, I'm back! Your reviews are always so heartwarming to read. The support I have for this story is more than I ever imagined it would have and it's absolutely mindboggling, so thank you all so much! I'm glad you guys didn't hate on Tiffany and Allison! This chapter is going to be in Tiffany's POV as we haven't heard from her yet. We're going to get her take on all this so get comfy and enjoy!
Disclaimer: It would be an awesome Christmas present to own Twilight but unfortunately it can never be.
TPOV: Sitting here on the couch tonight watching Food Network as my son slept in the other room felt different somehow. Maybe it was because I finally had a clear conscience for telling my baby the truth.
I never wanted him to have to meet with the legends, knowing there was a possibility he could lose his life before he'd even begun to live it. He was my baby, my heart and soul lived for him. Without Embry in my life it would all be meaningless. When I looked at him I saw Joshua. It was where he got his looks from, his kind nature, all from the good in Joshua. Embry was my last reminder of everything I loved. I couldn't lose that.
But a part of me knows that Embry won't be lost in the battle that is to come. He's too strong, and he doesn't just have me to live for now. He has Bella.
Bella Swan. The beautiful, kind-hearted girl that was destined to be my daughter-in-law. From the first moment I met her when Embry introduced us; I loved her like my own daughter. I knew there was something special about her. My Embry was so shy around girls, he refused to ever talk about them with me. So when he brought Bella to meet me it was safe to say I was in shock.
Who wouldn't be? Seeing their only child smitten, holding a girl with such love and care⦠I had never seen it before. Teenage love just wasn't like that. All I was able to process at that point was the simple fact that I wasn't the only woman in my baby's life anymore, but if I had to share him with anyone, I was glad to share him with Bella.
Today after everyone left, and it was just Bella and I in the house (the boys had gone to the store to get me some olive oil for dinner), Bella and I spent some time together talking about everything that had happened.
Flashback:
"So Bella dear," I said cheerfully as I chopped the potatoes. "It's been a big day, huh? A lot to take in?"
She nodded. "Extremely. But as you all learned today I've done this before. I did date a vampire," she shuddered in disgust.
I chuckled, "Of course. But are you confused at all? I mean about the imprint. I know it's a huge commitment and it can seem overwhelming. At least that's what Joshua told me when he read me the legends."
"Well," Bella seemed to consider it for a moment. "I suppose it is slightly overwhelming to suddenly be told you've found the love of your life without even knowing it, but I'm glad that if I have to belong to anyone, it's Embry."
That made me smile. "So you really do love him, don't you?"
Bella sighed dreamily. So much like a movie I almost laughed. "Yes," she nodded. "He's amazing. The kindest, most wonderful person that I've ever met. Nobody is as caring and considerate as he is. He gave me time to grieve when we all lost Jake, he didn't push me to just move on. We eased in to being together. Since then I haven't been happier."
"You know he never even brought any girl home to meet me before he met you," I said casually. He didn't ever take a chance with girls, he was always so shy. I have no idea why, though. He has his father's eyes. And let me tell you those eyes were enough to woo any girl in the country.
"Oh, trust me I know," she assured me. "Those eyes are what made me fall for him in the first place. When I first looked at them I felt like I could trust him, see into his soul. Do you know what I mean?"
I smiled and placed my hand on hers. "Absolutely. Joshua was the same way. And I know you probably don't believe me. I mean, he left. Just how wonderful could he be, right?"
Bella blushed and looked away. I'm sorry. I didn't mean it like that."
"I know you didn't, honey. And even if you did I wouldn't blame you. Everyone judges off the most logical explanation. But he was a good man. He just made some bad decisions. He shouldn't have been with me, he should have been trying to work through his marriage, if not for Allison and himself then for their son. But he shouldn't have abandoned me when I needed him to be there for Embry. In the end he had a good reason, but it wasn't good enough."
Bella gave me one of her good natured smiles. "Every good man makes mistakes, don't they?"
"That they do. But trust me when I say that Embry won't ever make that mistake with you."
She turned back to the food smiling and whispered, "I know."
End of Flashback
Needless to say after that Bella and I grew even closer and developed a strong mother daughter bond. She understood what I meant about Joshua when few people would even stop to listen.
I woke up a few hours later to a knock on the door. Had I dozed off? And who was knocking on our door at three o'clock in the morning?
I tied my robe and opened the door. And for a moment I was frozen, because I never expected to see him again.
"Joshua," I whispered.
A/N: Okay, needless to say this chapter probably sucked. But how was the ending? Did you guys think Joshua would ever show up? Why is he here and what will Embry, Sam and the pack say? Want to guess in a review? I won't update until after the holidays so everyone celebrating, have a Merry and safe Christmas. Love you guys!
Thanks for Reading!
