A/N: You guys are awesome, I know I've said it a bunch of times already, but I'm going to say it again! And Joshua is about to hear it from his sons trust me! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Disclaimer: Does anyone believe that I'd be here if it was mine?

Embry POV: I walked back into the kitchen to see them both staring at me. "Everything alright, kiddo?" Joshua asked, shooting a smile at me.

Fighting the urge to just go wolf on him, I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, everything's just wonderful. I woke up to find that my so called dad has just showed his face at my house unexpectedly. I'm great, thanks."

"Embry Call!" my mother chastised, shooting me a disapproving look. "I know this is a bit of a shock to the both of us, but he's still your father and you cannot talk to him like that."

Was she seriously telling me my behavior was unacceptable? "Mom, do you hear yourself right now? He left. Joshua may be my father but he's not my dad. There's a difference. You can't tell me to calm down and accept him. Even though that's what you're doing! Look at you two, cooking breakfast and acting like you've been together the past seventeen years!"

My mother looked taken aback. "I'm not letting him back in to our lives completely, Em. It's not like we've made plans to get married. He just wants a chance to be in your life, make things right. And that's what I'm giving him."

"But he doesn't deserve it!" I retorted angrily.

She opened her mouth to respond but Joshua put a hand on her shoulder. "It's okay, Tiff," he said gently. "He's right. I don't deserve the chance you've given me, and I may be too late to do all the things you needed me for. But I'm here to try and make it right. Redeem myself as a father. And I will do everything I can to earn forgiveness from the both of you."

My mom clapped her hands together and nodded like that just settled everything. "Well then if that's settled, the pack should be here any moment, so everyone get along."

There was a knock on the door. "I'll get it," I said almost robotically.

When I opened the door, there stood Allison Uley with Sam right behind her. Allison was a short (by my standards) woman, with jet black hair that fell to her shoulders, and almond shaped brown eyes. She looked worn and tired from work, but you could see small crinkles by her eyes, as proof she liked to smile. But Sam's cold and hard expression made him almost unidentifiable as her son.

"Hello, Embry dear," she smiled and gave me a soft hug. "Thank you for telling me to come here today."

I couldn't help the pang of sympathy and pity that filled me for this woman. Her husband had left her, with nothing but a mere note in his place. "Anytime," my voice broke. "The three of us, we're all in the same boat. We need answers." She just nodded and headed past me towards the kitchen.

Sam and I looked at each other for a moment. He shifted uncomfortably on his heels. "Well," he said awkwardly. "Here goes nothing."

I just nodded and we walked around the corner to the kitchen. My mother, Allison, and Joshua were sitting at our little round table in the corner. "Embry," my mother said, sounding hurt. "You should have told me they were coming."

"Just like you told me that you were allowing him back into our lives?" I retorted.

My mother sighed. "I never said that, you just assumed that. I don't mind Allison and Sam coming but the least you could have done was tell me."

Joshua finally looked up from the floor. "Sam?" he said faintly, as he met Sam's eyes. "Little Sammy, my boy. That's you?"

"Hello dad," Sam said, narrowing his eyes. "Surprised you recognize me."

"Well why wouldn't I?" Joshua walked to Sam and put a hand on his shoulder. They stood at the same height. "Just because I left doesn't mean you're not my son."

Sam snorted and shrugged Joshua's hand off roughly. "Yes it does. I was two when you left! I don't need a father anymore! All the times I did need you, all the times I wished you'd been there, you weren't. And now you show up, when there's nothing left to be here for. You aren't my dad and you never will be."

"Sam," Allison said placating. "Even though I am equally angry at Joshua for leaving us, there was a reason for why he did so. It wasn't just because he and I had problems."

"But even with all those problems he could've stuck around to watch me grow up!"

"You don't understand, Sammy," Joshua pleaded. "I wanted to stay, but I felt that if I stayed then all the predictions would come true and you would become a monster, face the horrible fate the next generation would come across."

"Yeah well, that was bound to happen with or without you anyway," Sam shot back bitterly. "And what about poor Embry over here? At least I'd been able to see you. But he's… never even had you in his life. He didn't know you existed, you've never been there for a single one of his birthdays… and you still have the nerve to show up here."

Joshua's expression looked severely pained. "I never wanted to abandon either one of you," he whispered. "But I had no choice. One night in my dreams, I was visited by the Spirit Warriors from the legends of our people."

"Ha," I snorted. "That's impossible."

"You used to think it was," Joshua nodded. "With what you've become, do you really believe anything is impossible?"

When I didn't speak, Joshua continued on with his story. "The night they came to me, they said both my children would face true horrors in the future. They would face the possibility of losing the ones they loved. And there would be war, hard fought, and hard won. The outcome is yet to be determined. So I thought that if I left, put as much distance between myself and all of you as possible, that maybe I could change your fate. But it's evident now that it would have happened either way. I made a grave mistake in leaving you all. And I'm here to earn forgiveness."

Allison spoke up, "I knew why you'd left. Not because of the note, but because the Spirits visited me the night after you disappeared and told me why. They said Tiffany would not get the same explanation, as she was not from our bloodlines. So, you have my forgiveness. And I hope we can maintain a friendship, for Sam's sake," she gripped Joshua's hand with a soft smile.

He nodded his agreement and looked at us both, "Boys," he said. "I know it may take time, but can you please make an effort to take in and accept my apology?"

I looked at Sam, I didn't know my own answer. "No," he said coolly. "I understand your fear, but you should have stayed here with us. I would've rather had my dad. And you could have been able to help me when I phased, but I had no one, so I refuse to give you the chance you never gave me."

Joshua looked defeated, and hurt filled his features, but he nodded. "Of course," he whispered. "I understand, Sammy. Embry?" he looked at me, hopeful. "Can you please try and forgive me, son?"

My head began to spin. I didn't know how to answer any of this. I mean, what am I supposed to do here?

Joshua looked at me still, expectantly now, awaiting my reply. But all that came out of my mouth was, "I need to see Bella," and without waiting for any response, I dashed out the door and ran for Quil's house. Only Bella would know what to say to help me.

A/N: Well there it is! What do you think Bella will say about Joshua's request? Want to guess in a review! And the votes are in… my new story is a… Bella/Jasper! I'm going to get started on it later on today so it will be up either tonight or tomorrow if you'd like to check it out! Review, I love you guys! Happy New Year!
