"Alright, we're alone," Rex stopped and turned around to look at the blonde Aegis. Mythra had insisted on going somewhere where they would not be overheard. Rex had complied of course, "So what did you want to talk about?"

Mythra glared at him for a moment before dropping her arms, "What do you know about us?"

"You and Pyra? Well, quite a lot I'd say. What do you mean?"

How did she go about this without giving anything away? Maybe she had not thought this through so well. That generally was not her strong suit. She was much better at it. Well, she also was not good at backing down.

"You know what our destination is, right?"

Rex tensed up slightly. He knew more than that, "Yeah, Elysium."

"You've been there, haven't you?" Mythra accused.

"I have," Rex nodded. He was not going to lie to them.

Mythra then knew something was up. What had gone wrong? Was it Malos?

"What…what was it like?" Mythra asked quietly and Rex swallowed.

"It's…changed, and not for the better. We…we can't rely on it to save us."

"Because of Malos?"

"No," Rex shook his head, "But we do have to stop him. If he gets there…he'll try to destroy the world. We can't let him do that."

"Right," Mythra agreed, "And we won't." She was still frustrated though. She wanted to press him about it more, but…doing so might tip him off even if he did not already know.

"Rex," So she decided to change it up to the other topic on her mind.

"Hmm, what is it?"

"What do you think of her. Pyra, I mean."

"O-oh, Pyra," Rex swallowed remembering he had just committed to not lying to them, "Er, well, uh."

"Hmph, don't worry about her overhearing. She's fast asleep."

"But what about your whole shared memory thing?"

Mythra resisted the urge to grin. As annoying as it was having him know so much about them, at least he did not seem to know everything, "We don't have to share everything, and I won't share this unless I think it's necessary."

"Oh," He supposed that explained why Pyra had not seemed to remember anything about when Mythra had slept walked into the boys' room, "I, well," Rex straightened his posture and looked the Aegis in the eyes, "I love her."

"You…love Pyra?"

"I do," Rex spoke firmly. He was certain. He did not doubt this anymore.

"I see. And…what about me?"

"I, uh, well I like you and all. Just…not like that."

"Hmm," So he saw them as separate. That was something Mythra herself was not even sure of. For a long time she thought she had been essentially talking to herself, but as time went on, she started to have her doubts. Pyra appearing in that message alongside herself as well as her having a personal message to Rex…well, it made her think.

"Uh, Mythra?" Rex finally spoke up after a long silence bringing Mythra out of her thoughts.

"J-just be careful, okay. She's…vulnerable."

"I know," Rex responded quietly, "Hurting her is the last thing I want to do."

Mythra looked at him for a bit, "I believe you."

"So, uh, Mythra…you aren't going to tell Pyra about this, right?"

Mythra exhaled through her nose, "I'll keep your little crush a secret."

"Thanks, Mythra!"

"S-sure," Mythra replied before going back to camp. She had some stuff to think about.

After some busy work for Umon, the group had managed to secure a ship, but Rex's hands were still rather tense as he gripped the wheel. He was distinctly not looking forward to what came next and everything else seemed to barely register to him. Ophion. Honestly, he thought that thing was scarier looking than Aion. Had Aion not…he probably would have been more afraid of the snakelike artifice. He knew they would probably be fine, but he was uncomfortable all the same.

Pyra looked back at him in slight concern, but he shot her a reassuring smile. Pyra frowned, clearly unconvinced by the gesture, but she looked back toward the World Tree. Rex still had a hard time coming to terms with the fact that it was an artificial structure, but that was the fact of the matter. He wondered when or if he would climb it again. Or if they even could before Pyra and Mythra were back to the top of their games.

Pyra was not sure what was going on, but Rex was definitely distracted. In addition, Mythra was being exceptionally quiet lately. She had considered trying to talk to her about it, but she was not comfortable doing so. It was usually Mythra who started the conversation while Pyra stood back and respected her wishes. Like a good little substitute.

"So how exactly are we supposed to get up there?" Nia asked the Aegis, but she did not answer. Not because of her previous thoughts, but because something was…off. For one, that rift had not been there before, but perhaps more pressing was the movement she saw in the shifting cloud sea. Suddenly, she had a slight idea why Rex had been so apprehensive.

Then Ophion emerged, and try as she might, she could not get it to listen to her. Would it listen to Mythra? Mythra did not seem to know what was happening either. It…just would not listen. It should have. Mythra had thought it destroyed so she did not bother blocking out Pyra's connection to it.

"We have to get out of here!" Pyra urgently told Rex who was already in the process of steering them away. However, blocking their escape was a massive titan. The titan of Uraya. There was no getting around a continent at this range and speed. The only way was through. Not that it was a massive comfort to them as they disappeared inside of its massive maw.

Despite having been eaten by a continent, they had all managed to make it out fairly well. Their ship had not been so fortunate, but at least they were all okay. That said, it was still dark and damp, and only Rex seemed to know where he was going. He…really was not a very good actor. Pyra was pretty sure that Nia, Dromarch, and Poppi were all suspicious of him.

And, he had given them reason. He was a salvager that had gotten wrapped up into all of this, yet he took being swallowed by a titan so casually. As if it were perfectly normal. Or expected.

Pyra wondered if she should talk to him about it. Could she help, or would she make things worse? If he was aware of it, he might get even more suspicious acting. Pyra sighed. Feeling worthless was just a way of life for her it seemed. What she would not give for some of Mythra's confidence, as fake as it may have been.

The path ahead was notably rather dark, but between Pyra, Poppi, and Rex, they had enough light to make t through. Eventually the cave gave way to a, well, bigger cave. The whole of Uraya was pretty much all like this since they lived inside the titan. Still, the new area was much brighter though Rex for some reason seemed even more on edge.

They had barely made it out into the light before a booming voice called out, "So, you're the Aegis' driver?"

Everyone looked up to the source, but Rex lagged behind slightly before looking up and whispering, "Vandham."
