A/N: Hey everyone! Thank you so much for the wonderful reviews last chapter! Surprisingly very few people were able to guess my little twist this chapter, but that just makes it more exciting! It's time for Embry to meet the dad finally! It's a split POV chapter between Bella and Em! I hope you guys enjoy it!

Bella POV: "Hey Bells," Charlie called as he entered the house. "I smell potatoes simmering," he said, inhaling appreciatively as he walked into the kitchen to grab a beer. "Did your boyfriend agree to come over tonight?"
I smiled at the use of the word 'boyfriend.' It was still so surreal to me that it wasn't actually a dream. "Yeah dad, he said he'd be here by seven, so you're here just on time to go change."
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" he protested as he gestured to his policeman's uniform with the gun belt still attached (he had forgotten to take it off because he'd smelled the food."
Snorting as I tried and failed to conceal my laughter I said, "Um, well for one dad… you still have your belt on. I really don't want you to scare him off by carrying a loaded gun and a Taser around while he has dinner with us."
He chuckled. "Bella, the way you talk about this boy, I think I need the Taser. This guy sounds like he's crazy about you, which I'm glad about, but I'm protective of my baby girl when it comes to boys now. You only make the mistake of not looking too closely once," his eyes narrowed and I knew what he was referring to, careful not to bring it up just so that I didn't go into my zombie mode again.
"Dad seriously, Embry is nothing like Edward (I ignored his shock at hearing me say the name out loud). Embry cares about me, and he's not going to let me down, so be nice okay?" I pleaded and went to give him a hug.
Charlie rested his chin on the top of my head. "Okay Bells," he said gruffly. "I just don't want to see you get hurt again."
"And I won't daddy," I smiled. "I promise, you'll love him. Now please go get changed, he'll be here in forty-five minutes."
He took a moment to appraise me, then without another word, went up the stairs to his room.
I had changed while the potatoes were resting, I was wearing black leggings with a grey knit knee length sweater, I had curled my hair for tonight and applied the slightest hint of makeup, which I was sure Embry would notice because I usually only wore mascara.
About thirty minutes later, when my dad was now seated on the couch in his light wash jeans and green button down shirt watching the football game, the doorbell rang and I raced to get to it.
When I opened the door I felt as though the breath had been knocked clean from my lungs. There stood my Embry, looking completely debonair in a navy blue v neck sweater and black slacks. The smile he wore on his face was full of love when he saw me.
"Hi sweetheart," he smiled and kissed me on the forehead as he pulled me into a hug. "You look lovely."
"So do you," I said to him, my voice taking on a dreamlike quality after he complimented me.
A sound of someone clearing their throat behind us caused us to jump apart. My cheeks colored red when I saw my dad leaning against the wall and holding back a laugh at my expression.
Luckily he didn't call me out on it, instead stepping forward and shaking Embry's hand. "It's an honor to meet you, Chief Swan," Embry said. "I'm Embry Call."
"Nice to meet you too, son," Charlie said gruffly. "Call me Charlie, would you? Makes me feel kind of old when you call me Chief," he chuckled then and Embry laughed too, nodding.
About twenty minutes later we were all sitting at our kitchen table, digging in to the steak. "So Embry," Charlie asked casually through a mouthful of mashed potatoes. "What exactly are your intentions with my daughter?"
I felt the food lodge in my throat and I began to choke, the shock still evident on my face. Embry patted my back affectionately until I caught my breath. "Come on dad," I gasped.
"No Bell, don't worry it's a fair question," he proceeded to answer then. "Charlie, Bella and I were really good friends before we got together, and I think she's truly amazing. I'd never hurt her. I know what Edward did to her and I would never ever hurt her like that. I promise I'll take good care of her Charlie. If I ever make the slightest mistake I will be completely okay with you shooting me on the spot."
Embry cracked a smile at the end, but you could still hear the serious undertone to his voice. Charlie seemed to look him over for a moment, and as soon as he realized that Embry was not joking with him whatsoever, he stretched across the table to clap him on the shoulder. "You're a good kid, Em. Welcome to the family," he smiled.
I had never seen a bigger grin on Embry's face. "I'm glad to be a part of it, Charlie," he said.
The two made good conversation after that, talking about sports, work, and school. All through it I didn't talk too much, but I kept shooting Embry appreciative glances, and every time he would smile back at me with those sparkling brown eyes.
After about two hours of this, Embry claimed he had to go home to his mom, but I knew better. He was on patrol tonight. I had begged him, and all the boys actually, to get more sleep, but they all had said my safety, as a part of the family, was their number one priority.
My father and Embry said their goodbyes and I walked Embry outside. As soon as the door shut behind me he pulled me into his arms, resting his chin at the top of my head. "Thank you for dinner, sweetheart," he said softly. "It was the best meal I've ever had."
I giggled, not used to the praise. "Thank you," I said pulling away and looking to the forest beside my house. "Is your patrol long tonight?" I asked.
He shook his head. "Just until midnight, and then Paul's going to come relieve me. I'll be able to get some sleep tonight, don't worry."
A soft laugh escaped me. "Good then. Sam must be taking my orders," I laughed and slapped his arm jokingly.
"Wait," he said, amusement dripping into his tone. "You've been ordering around our alpha?"
"Yeah, why so surprised?"
"It's just that…" he shook his head laughing. "He's never taken an order from anyone but Emily and Leah. Emily because of the imprint and Leah because she scares him. So when you want something you must be scary," he chuckled.
"Well you need your sleep! Excuse me for caring!" I grinned.
His smile turned warm and he kissed me gently on the lips. "Thank you, sweetheart. I promise we're going to go to a movie or something this weekend. We haven't done anything lately but focus on all the pack drama."
"That sounds nice," I grinned. "I'm holding you to that, Call."
"Of course," he leaned down to kiss my cheek, but he froze when a piercing howl broke through the air. "That's Sam!" he said urgently. "That means we have a meeting now! I'll call you in the morning, I promise, Bell! I love you!" he kissed me on the cheek one last time and ran into the forest.
"Be careful!" I called as he disappeared into the cover of the trees, hoping he heard me. As the answering bark echoed back to me a moment later, I knew he had.
Embry POV: Sam what's going on?! I was with Bella, man! I was very annoyed. Every time I just wanted to be with my girlfriend, pack business always ended up interrupting.
You can go be all lovey-dovey with your imprint later, Call. Right now we've got a real problem.-Paul
What do you mean a problem?! I panicked. Did the redhead leech show up?
No, this is worse, bro. You and Bella aren't going to like this.-Sam
What is it, Sam?-Me
Cullen… he's back. And he wants to talk to you.
A/N: Muahahahaha, I feel SO evil for leaving it there! But you know I love you guys! And guys I'm sorry it took so long, when I'm not on break it's difficult to keep a schedule but I'm doing my best! To answer something that was asked a while back, Embry is going to be the alpha even though the Black bloodline is first because of the circumstances that Joshua was explaining in an earlier chapter!
