A/N: Hi everyone! I know you all want to kill me, and I am so terribly sorry for the delay, but I haven't been on break till this week and I had a couple other stories to update, so as I'd updated this one a couple weeks ago I decided to wait! Hopefully I can get in a couple more chapters for this before break is up, though! I hope you enjoy Edward being back in the picture (snickers evilly)!

Embry POV: What?! What do you mean he's here? I growled defensively. What does he want?

I don't know exactly, Sam thought at me. But I assume it's about Bella. Phase back and go talk to him, we'll stay wolf and flank you in case of a fight.

Thanks Sam, I thought before phasing back and grabbing my shorts and shoes, slipping them on.

What would that bloodsucking parasite want with me, anyway? He nearly destroyed my poor Bella, I wasn't about to let him get near where she was. It was easy to find him; his stench was too hard to miss for maybe a thousand miles.

The leech looked like he'd been through the mill. His eyes held dark circles under them, golden hair that looked like a rat's nest, and his clothes were tattered all over. Somehow, I couldn't bring myself to even have the slightest ounce of pity. Nothing he'd been through could compare to what Bella went through after he abandoned her.

"I can hear your thoughts, you filthy mongrel," he spat. "Besides, what would you know about Bella and how she feels anyway? I'm the one that loves her, and I know that she loves me too," he sounded like he was trying to convince himself.

"You think she loves you?" I hissed. "You useless, bloodsucker… you left her for dead in the forest that day. She doesn't love you, she hasn't been in love with you for about four months now, so I'd appreciate it if you could just go back to your hovel of stinking freaks, never set foot on this land again, and tell the rest of your family," I spat the word like it was poison. "To stay away from her as well. Understood?"

His eyes glinted black with anger and spite. "She does love me. Bella told me when I left that she would always love me, no matter how long I stayed away. Now I'm back, and I intend on making things right with her again. There isn't anything you mutts can do to stop me."

I heard several growls from my brothers behind me. "Actually," I said, my voice had taken on a taunting tone. "There is one thing that prohibits you from being her."

"Nothing I can't overcome," he said indifferently.

"Really," I am loving this. Using this against him and knowing he's going to be livid knowing that he lost his chances with her forever. "You think you'll be able to overcome an imprint?" I smirked.

There was a victorious twist in my gut for a moment at the way his disgusting stone face contorted in pain for a brief moment before it flickered back to an angry mask. "Is Jacob her imprint? Is that why he didn't come speak with me himself? Because he's afraid I'll kill him?"

"No," Jacob's hard voice suddenly came from beside me. "Embry is her imprint. I didn't come because you said you wanted to talk to the one of us that is closest to Bella. That would be the wolf that imprinted on her. Not me."

"But I was so sure," he whispered, nearly talking to himself. Jake and I just shared a very confused look. "The way you used to look at her, it was as though you were waiting for me to screw things up, so you could take her away."

"I was," Jacob said matter-of-factly. "I hated the idea she could love something as repulsive as you, even before I truly knew what you were. "So when you left, I saw my opportunity to step in and show her what love really was. She was broken, she always told me; unfixable. But I still tried my hardest, like the good best friend I was. When I went wolf, we stopped talking for her safety and she met Embry, who fixed her better than I care to admit. When he imprinted on her it's needless to say I was ticked beyond belief. But now that you're here in front of me, and I see what she could've ended up with, I realize that the only viable choice for her is Embry. He loves her. He'd never break her the way you did."

Jacob turned to me then, an apology in his eyes. "And I should've realized that if Bella and Embry are really my best friends, then I should be happy. That no one can care for her like he can. And I can only hope that the two of them can forgive me for how stupid I've been lately."

I nodded, pulling my best friend into my arms and giving him a good hard bear hug. "Thanks man," I clapped him on the back.

"If you two are all done being sentimental," the leech seethed. "I'd like to see my girlfriend."

"She's. Not. Your. Girlfriend," I growled, lunging forward to finish this parasite once and for all, but Jacob held me back.

"Oh, but she is," he chuckled. "And I'm going to prove that I'm worthy of her love again. When you least expect it, that's when I'll find her."

"Over my dead body, bloodsucker!" I shouted.

"That can be arranged," he smiled before running off in the direction away from the treaty line.

"Get to Bella quick," Jacob looked at me seriously. "He knows we're expecting him to go there and probably won't do it tonight. But just in case. Go, run and tell her what's going on."

"Jake, she's going to have a conniption when she finds out he's here! I know she doesn't care about him, but she's still the most fragile little thing on the planet! She's going to freak out on me!"

"It's better that than keeping secrets," he assured me. "Trust is the most important thing with her. Just go, I'll help Sam take care of things here."

I opened my mouth to thank him but he waved it off. "Get out of here, Call. Your girl needs her hero right now."

As shocked as I was to hear him telling me all this, I knew he was right. I bolted off into the night then. I can only hope that when all this is over, I can finally enjoy some peace with Bella.

A/N: Okay, that wasn't as good as I intended it to be, but I need to get back into the swing of the Twilight world. What do you guys think? Will Embry warn Bella in time? Will Edward be at the house? Questions all waiting for answers if you guys review fast! Speaking of new stories, any Divergent fans I have here, please vote on my poll regarding a new fic! I thought trying a Peter/Tris would be good, is it's got the whole enemies in love thing going on but I equally love and ship fourtirs! Anyway, let me know guys! I love you!
