A/N: *hides behind computer screen* Hi everybody! Please don't kill me for not updating in so long I thought I updated it with the rest so I didn't feel completely horrible until now when I saw the actual last update date. As you can all probably tell I've gotten back to school already (so much for the summer of updates :() and I've been kind of busy. However I've been DYING to get a good chapter out for you guys, so here it is! Okay, I'm going to stop babbling now, enjoy!
Disclaimer: I unfortunately do not own Twilight or Kiowa Gordon. Kiowa belongs to himself and Twilight to Stephanie Meyer.
Bella POV: It was only two days ago that Billy sat Embry and I down and explained the Spirit Link to the two of us. I was over the moon knowing Em and I shared a special connection that was even greater than imprinting. So what if it held some sort of mystery to it that we would have to uncover? Mystery was always somewhat of a romantic genre to me; and we would have plenty of time to figure it all out, we'd take it one step at a time.
Embry on the other hand, even though he was thrilled with our connection felt awful about supposedly taking away my choices. He feels like he's gone about this relationship thing all wrong, like it all happened in the wrong order.
Sure, we said I love you just after we became a couple, and we haven't yet been on an official date, but so what? Every aspect of my life for almost two years has been anything but normal, I was fine with our relationship being different too.
Embry called last night and said Billy hadn't given him the okay to leave the house yet, but he was allowed to move around small distances. We were both slightly disappointed seeing as he'd originally wanted us to spend the day on the beach today, but I'd dismissed it and told him instead we'd stay inside and watch movies instead.
It would be nice to finally have some quiet time, seeing as since Embry and Quil phased we haven't had one moment alone. I knew Em and I enjoyed the same types of movies (classics or romantic comedies) and we didn't need to be constantly talking to have fun together. We could sit in silence and be perfectly content, not needing words to know what the other was thinking; so this would be the perfect first date for us.
I decided to dress extra casual because we weren't going anywhere. Any other girl would shudder at the thought of wearing an old lifeguard sweatshirt from North Carolina and a pair of ripped light-wash jeans on a date, but I think I've proven I'm not like every other girl in terms of fashion.
Besides, I had the best boyfriend in the history of the universe who reminds me that I'm beautiful regardless of what I wear or do.
The mere thought of him made me smile. How could I of all people had gotten so lucky? My boyfriend was sweet, considerate, funny, chivalrous, and extraordinarily handsome to top it all off.
I began to comb my hair out so that I could get going, when my phone rang. Another smile appeared on my face when I looked at the screen; speak of the devil, I thought, and the devil shall call.
"Hello?" I answered coyly, trying to muffle the happy giggles that threatened to escape me.
"Why hello there, Ms. Swan," my boyfriend's sweet baritone voice greeted me from the other line. "I was just calling in regards to our movie date this afternoon. It appears you're an hour late."
I couldn't hold the laughter in that time. "Em, you told me to be there at noon, it's only eleven-thirty. I wouldn't be late for all the money in the world."
That seemed to loosen his hilariously formal façade. "I know," he replied warmly. "But I woke up a while ago and my first thought was related to missing you, so I've kinda been hoping you'd get here early. Twenty-four hours is way too long to go without seeing you."
On my end I blushed and ducked my head, somehow thinking he'd know the feeling of bubbly happiness he ignited in me. "I couldn't agree more," I was smiling, and my voice was soft. "It's a good thing I'm on my way out to the car now then," true to form I had grabbed my keys and was now running out to the car, very excited to see him.
"You'd better be," he retorted playfully. "Alright Bell, I'm going to let you go so you can start driving. If I hold you up any longer, I'll have to see you later, and we simply can't have that."
"No we can't," I conquered as I twisted my keys into the ignition and felt my truck roar to life.
"I'll see you soon," Embry replied, his voice was full of joy and love.
"Wait, Em!" I said quickly, hoping he hadn't hung up yet.
"Yes angel?"
"I love you," I whispered into the receiver sheepishly, suddenly feeling silly for blurting it out like an overly excited child.
I heard a soft contented sigh on the other end. "I'll never get tired of hearing you say those words," he said, seemingly muttering to himself. "I love you too, my Bella; more than you will ever know."
After one more very long goodbye I hung up the phone and began to drive down my street, then down the tiny highway that separated Forks from La Push.
As I drove I began to get lost in my thoughts. Ever since the day Edward and Embry fought the other day, things had been unusually quiet on his end. Sam had said to expect to be cornered at school, or receive threats, but so far that hadn't happened. The only kind of strange occurrence was seeing a yellow 911 Turbo Porsche, jet black Mercedes, and a silver Jeep going down the road in the general direction of the Cullens. Even that wasn't unexpected though. We knew they'd all end up returning after Edward told them what happened. We just had to wait for them to make some sort of advance.
Going through all this, I'd become so absorbed that I noticed too late that the very same Jeep I'd been remembering was hurdling towards me at the edge of the highway.
A/N: Dun dun dun DUN! PLEASE READ! Okay guys, I know that this chapter was originally meant to be their first date, and I swear that was my intention when I began to write. But as you all know with me, I write what comes out and what I think will help lead in to the major scheme of things. I will tell you this, it's not a spoiler because this is going to be Bella and Em's story till the end. She is not dead and not dying, so they WILL get a first date I swear, just not yet! I don't have a lot of homework and I'll be updating some other stories tomorrow so I won't be keeping you waiting this time I swear on Taha Aki AND Albus Dumbledore so I'm completely serious! But you guys need to review so that I can make good on my promise! I love you!
Thanks for Reading!
