A/N: Hi everybody! I missed you all these past four days, but I wanted to let the relief of Bella being alive and well sit for a few days before coming back and providing you with more fluffy-yet-crazy fanfiction goodness! This chapter will be in our beloved Bella's POV considering we obviously haven't heard from her in a few chapters! Enjoy!
Disclaimer: I totally own Twilight… haha yeah; I laugh at my own jokes. These characters belong to Stephanie Meyer.
Oh and I'm dedicating this chapter to butterflybitch because your name is simply amazing and your review made me cry many happy tears! Hope you enjoy this, I love ya!
Bella POV: "Embry," I said again, beginning to panic. "What do you mean I was dead?" How could I have been dead if he were sitting here in front of me right now? Hell, how did I even wind up in the hospital? The last thing I remembered was driving down the highway towards Embry's house and-
The crash.
The fire.
The Jeep.
It all hit me like a blur. I remembered now. I had been going to Embry's house when out of nowhere a Jeep that was the exact replica of Edward's brother Emmett's had hurled right into my truck.
"Bella," my boyfriend's sweet, frantic voice broke me from my stupor. "Sweetheart are you okay? Come back to me, Bells!"
"I was in a car accident," I whispered hoarsely, still horrified by the little memory I possessed.
"Yes angel you were," he said sadly, kissing my forehead. "But it's okay. You're here now, you're with me and I promise you I'm never going to let that stupid bloodsucking parasite hurt you again, baby."
"I'm going to go get a doctor son," the voice of Embry's father, Joshua Uley, startled me from the corner of the room, smiling. "They're going to want to see her."
"Okay dad, thanks," Embry said and then turned to me again, pulling me into his chest firmly but softly. "God you scared the crap out of me baby," he whispered. "I thought I'd lost you."
"Did I really," I choked on the word, unable to even think it, let alone say it. "Die?"
Embry's face immediately turned sad again, and it was then that I finally saw what my being in the hospital had truly done to him.
His clothes looked disheveled, as though he hadn't changed them in days, his beautiful, black messy hair matted, sticking to his hair like a second skin, and his handsome face held lines of worry and bags that should never be present on someone so young. My heart immediately broke, and I cursed my stupidity that day for wanting to leave half an hour early.
"Yes sweetheart, you did," he told me hesitantly, his eyes filling with tears. "And," he gulped. "When I came in here and saw you lying there stiller than I'd ever seen you, when I felt how cold you were… God," he whispered, his voice breaking. "I felt like my heart had been ripped out, Bella. I just love you so much and the thought of losing you was already enough to kill me. Actually losing you… I didn't know what to do with myself, baby. Please, don't ever leave me again."
"Oh my god," I whispered, pained by the sight of my broken love. "Come here," I told him, lifting his head gently and bring his lips to mine. Embry kissed me only for a moment, but that moment was desperate, as if his life depended on it.
The fluttering began in my stomach, and it that moment I remembered why I didn't care that I was sitting here in this bed, injured and back from the dead. I loved Embry. Embry had saved me when I thought I was nothing. He had loved me when nobody else had. And even if this accident was really an accident, and not something my monster of an ex-boyfriend cooked up, I'd do it all again just to be with Embry right this second.
When he pulled away he held my face gently in his hands, rubbing the tips of his fingers along my cheekbones lovingly, like I was the most precious thing in this world.
"Bella," he whispered. "My sweet, darling Bella. I can't believe that he did this to you."
"What are you talking about?" I demanded, and then the shock hit me. "Em… are you saying… are you saying Edward did this to me?"
He nodded gravely. "The Jeep was theirs, But Edward and his blondie sister were the ones who pulled it off. He denied it when Jake confronted him but we're not buying any of their bullshit. I just… God Bells, I don't want to lose you again."
"Listen to me," I told him firm, but reassuring. "I'm here now. I am not dead, I'm right here and you don't need to worry anymore. I love you, and nothing, not even that psycho, bloodsucking monster is going to take me away from you. I love you, Embry Call."
"I love you too, angel," he vowed. "And I swear to you, I am going to kill those leeches for putting you here."
"Oh and your mom's here," he told me suddenly.
"What?!" I was flabbergasted. "Renee is here?!"
He nodded. "She's probably in pieces right now. The doctor came out and told everyone what happened. But I expect that my dad's gone back and told everyone that you're okay as he went to go find the doctor."
I breathed a sigh of relief at that. My poor mother was scatterbrained enough already. She didn't need to add grief to the list of things she had to do.
"I need to talk to the pack after the doctor gets here," his voice was dark. "Even though you're alright now, harming you was still a breach on their end of the treaty; this means war for us."
"Do you think that's what your dad saw in his dream with the Spirits?"
"I'm positive. And I think that this means that it's time for me to assume my position as the rightful alpha of this pack."
A/N: Well then, that was a little fluffy chapter with some darkness thrown in at the end there. Are you all excited to see Embry assume his role as the alpha? Do you think there's a battle in our midst any time soon? Leave me your guesses and I'll be back quite soon! I love you all!
Thank you for Reading!
