A/N: I've been trying to post this for almost 72 hours now! FF kept giving me an error message :( BUT I'm already half-way through my next update ;) should be posting it within the next few days.

Sorry that this chapter is so short! It's a filler and I didn't want it to drag on lol.

Only a couple of these to give, but I appreciate everyone's support:

I got a call from Elena the next morning, demanding to know every detail from last night. I gave in and answered all of her questions after she threatened to come over.

We covered the car ride, the cheesy fake-yawn move Matt had used to put his arm around my shoulders during the movie, and even the topics we had discussed at dinner.

"And...?" She asked, obviously knowing I left out something.

"And what?"

"Don't act like there wasn't more! I can see everything that happens on your porch." She laughed.

"Everything?"

"Yep."

I sighed before responding.

"Okay. Fine. He walked me to the door and kissed me. Happy?"

"How was it?"

"I'm pretty sure you know how his kisses are." I chuckled.

"That's true. But everyone experiences the same thing differently."

"Good point. Let's just say that I wouldn't mind doing it again." I said, causing another giggle from her. "So, what are you going to do today?"

"I'll probably just stay in. It feels like a lazy day. Wanna join me?"

"I would love to! When are we starting this day of nothingness?"

"As soon as you walk over here. Feel free to bring whatever unhealthy snacks you have and invite yourself in. See you soon!"

I hung up, and not ten minutes later, I was walking through the Gilbert's door in a purple tank top and black pajama bottoms. She laughed when she saw me.

"You said lazy, so that's what I dressed for." I said as I plopped down next to her on the couch.

"Did you bring your entire kitchen?!" She nodded to the bag I'd brought with me.

"No. Just the essentials: soda, potato chips, ice cream, cookies, chocolate." I started putting everything on the coffee table in front of us.

And that's how we spent the day, stretched out on the couch while 'pigging out' on all of that and anything else we could grab when we raided the kitchen. We ended up watching How I Met Your Mother from the very first episode, not stopping until about 6 PM.

When I got home, I changed for a quick workout to burn off some of the snacking I'd done. I was about to turn on some music while walking out the door when I noticed Matt getting out of his truck.

"Hey." I greeted, pulling my earphones out and probably smiling like an idiot.

"Uh, hey. Are you busy?"

"No. I was just going for a run, but I've got time."

"Okay. Can we talk?" He asked.

My smile dropped. Nothing good ever came from hearing those words.

"Sure."

I sat down on a patio chair, and Matt joined me while running his fingers through his hair. He kept his eyes on the railing as we sat in silence for a minute or two.

"Matt?" I asked, tentatively placing my hand on his shoulder.

"I like you, Dani."

"I like you, too."

"I just... I'm not ready for a new relationship. Not right now."

"You still love Elena."

It wasn't a question. It was obvious he was still hung up on the girl living next door to me.

"Yeah."

I was shocked at myself that it stung a little to hear him say that.

"It's all right, Matt. It sucks, but I get it."

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to hurt you."

"I'm a big girl, Matty. I can take it. I probably shouldn't be starting anything new right now anyway." I said, as Adam's face popped into my head.

"Look, I... I should go."

I followed him to his truck. He opened up the driver's side door, but stopped before climbing in.

"Still friends?"

I nodded, forcing a smile to hide the slight pain of rejection.

"Can't get rid of me that easily, Donovan. See you at school." I said, standing on my tip-toes to kiss his cheek.

As soon as his truck pulled away, I went back to my earlier task. I put my iPod on shuffle, popped my earphones back in, and started to jog down the sidewalk.
