Chapter 3: Brother Robot
"Kids are you ready to go?" Chilli said placing pancakes on Bluey and Bingos plate. Thomas comes out of his room ready to go. "Wish your sisters were like you when it comes to getting ready," Chilli joked while getting more pancakes ready. Thomas chuckled before eating his breakfast. "Hey kiddo," Bandit said walking into the kitchen. "Bandit can you see if your daughters are ready yet," Chilli said looking at her husband. "Sure thing love," Bandit said as he left the kitchen. Chilli sighed as she continued to cook. Two sudden screams came from the playroom just as Bingo and Bluey came rushing into the kitchen. "Alright girls time to eat and get ready for school. Chilli said placing the last pancakes on the plate. Bluey and Bingo sat at the table and eat their breakfast.
Not long after everyone was out the door and heading to the car. Once everyone was in the car and on their way to work and school. Bandit drops off Chilli then the girls and finally Thomas. "Have a great day at school son," Bandit said as Thomas was getting his stuff ready. "Okay Dad," Thomas said now getting out of the car. Thomas shuts the car door and heads into his new high school. The day was mostly normal besides being picked on for being an outcast and being an American. Thomas sat at lunch alone until someone came up to him. "Hey," said a kid with a British accent sitting down across from Thomas. "Hey…" Thomas said nervously. "American I see," the kid said with a smile. "Yeah… and you're from the UK?" Thomas asked. The kid nodded. "The names Liam nice to meet you…" Liam said hoping to get Thomas's name. "Thomas is my name," Thomas answered.
"Nice to meet you, Thomas," Liam said taking a bite from his sandwich. "What brings you all the way to Australia?" Liam asked. Thomas chuckled, "Well I moved in with my dad, Stepmom, and half step sisters because my mom got sick," Thomas explained. "I'm sorry to hear that," Liam said placing his sandwich down. "What about you? What brings you out here?" Thomas asked. "Dad works for a big company so we had to move, I was new last year," Liam explained. "Oh," Thomas said. "So I know what it's like to be new," Liam said taking another bite of his sandwich. "But since your American is your dad from Australia?" Liam asked. Thomas nodded. "He moved to America for a little bit and met my mom and the rest is history," Thomas answered. Liam nodded, "are your sisters older or younger?" Liam asked. "Younger," Thomas answered.
"Oh cool, I have a younger sister too should I know your sisters?" Liam asked. "Their names are Bluey and Bingo," Thomas answered. "Bluey and Bingo Heeler?" Liam asked. "Yeah, you know them?" Thomas asked. Liam nodded in response. "My sister Kate goes to school with Bluey and plays with her and Bingo all the time," Liam explained. "Small world," Thomas said as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Indeed," Liam said finishing his sandwich. "Then your dad's Bandit right?" Liam asked Thomas nodded. "My dad works with him too," Liam added. "Then it is a really small world," Thomas said with a chuckle. Liam chuckled as well. "Yeah, it is," Liam said. The rest of the day went smoothly with Thomas making a new friend and Liam also making a new friend. After school was over Thomas and Liam said their goodbyes and went to their parent's cars.
Thomas got in the front seat of his dad's car and shut the car door. "Hey kiddo how was your first day?" Bandit asked with a smile as he started the car. "I met Liam Anderson," Thomas said looking to his dad. "Oh the Anderson boy, Bluey, and Bingo play with his sister," Bandit said as he drove out from the parking lot. "Did you make friends with him?" Bandit asked as they drove along. "Yeah, I think so," Thomas said looking out the window. "Good, you need friends out here," Bandit said with a smile. Thomas nodded as he sat back in his seat.
Once they got home, Thomas walked to his room and then noticed a drawing on his door. Thomas takes the drawing and looks at it. It was a picture of the whole family together with a small note that read from Bluey and Bingo. Thomas smiles a bit before walking into his room. Thomas shuts the door behind him and places the picture on his desk. Thomas then turns on his music and puts on his headphones before working on his homework. While doing his homework he heard some laughing out in the living room. Thomas takes off his headphones and continues to hear them laughing. Thomas then gets up from his desk and exits his room. Thomas walks into the playroom. Bandit was in the playroom with the girls playing a game. "What are you guys up to?" Thomas asked standing in the doorway. "Just playing a little game, do you want to play with us?" Bluey asked.
"Yeah, come play with us," Bingo cheered. Bluey and Bingo both ran around Thomas while Bandit got up from the floor. "Yeah, son why don't you play with your sisters," Bandit said with a smile. "Gee I would but I have lots of homework to finish," Thomas said before leaving the room quickly. Bandit was surprised by this as he rubbed the back of his neck. "Aww," Bluey and Bingo both said with their heads down and walking back into the middle of the playroom. Bandit then went to his son's room to see if he was okay. Bandit knocked on the door and waited for his son to say come in. "Come in," Thomas said from inside his room. Bandit walks into the room and sees his son on the bed laying. "Homework huh?" Bandit said crossing his arms.
"Dad, please," Thomas said putting a pillow over his muzzle. "Come on kiddo, I know you finished your homework over an hour ago," Bandit said with a smile. Thomas sighed and uncovered his face and looked at his dad. "Come on kiddo, spend some time with your sisters." Bandit said as he walked into the room and sat down at the bed. "Do I have to?" Thomas said looking at his dad. "Yes, It'll be good for you," Bandit said as he pats his son on the head. "Fine," Thomas said as he got up from his bed and went back into the playroom. "Alright, who wants to play," Thomas said in a low tone. "Yay!" Bluey and Bingo said as they stood and ran around Thomas. "Alright, so what are we playing?" Thomas asked as he sat down on the floor. Bluey and Bingo looked at each other and giggled. "Brother Robot!" they both cheered. "Brother Robot?" Thomas said confused. Bluey and Bingo both nodded. Thomas sighed, "Alright how do I play?" Thomas asked. Bluey giggled as she makes a tin hat and places it on her brother's head. "All you have to do is act like a robot," Bluey said crossing her arms. "Alright," Thomas replied.
"No! You have to make robot sounds too!" Bluey said tapping her foot. "Okay," Thomas said with some robot sounds. "Good brother robot," Bluey said wagging her tail. Thomas only rolled his eyes as he stood up. "You have to move like a robot too!" Bingo added. Thomas sighed and started to move like a robot too. "Good brother robot," Bingo said patting her brother on the back. "Come brother robot let's play with the ball," Bluey said as she grabbed a red ball. Bluey then threw the ball and hits Thomas in the nose. "Ow!" Thomas shouts, "brother robot you have to say ow in robot," Bluey said. "Two can play at this game," Thomas said in his head as he made his way to a piece of paper moving like a robot of course, and wrote something down on the piece of paper.
Thomas then made some robot sounds and moved over to Bingo and gave her the piece of paper. "What does it say Bingo?" Bluey said as she ran over to her sister. Bingo then gave Bluey the paper and read it out loud. "Reprogram?" Bluey said. Thomas then shuts down and reboots himself. "Targets on site! Must be destroyed!" Thomas said in a robot voice. "Run Bingo!" Bluey shouted as she and Bingo started to run away from their brother. Thomas moves slowly like a robot but picks up the red ball that Bluey threw earlier. "Targets sited must be destroyed," Thomas repeats as he walks through the house. The girls scream trying to get away from Thomas. The girls then run into the living room where Bandit was at watching TV. "Daddy robot please keep us safe from brother robot," Bluey said as she and Bingo hide behind Bandit. Bandit then boots up like a robot and protects the girls from brother robot.
"Stop right there brother robot!" Bandit said making robot sounds. Thomas smiles as he gets ready to throw the ball at his dad, "good night dad robot," Thomas said with his robot voice and hits Bandit in the chest with the red ball. Bandit then makes dying robot noises and hits the ground. "Daddy robot!" Bingo cries out loud. Thomas then moves quickly to Bluey and Bingo and gets them in a corner. "Its all over for us Bingo!" Bluey said scared. "Targets terminated," Thomas said in his robot voice and gets down to Bluey and Bingos level and tickled them. Both girls screamed while laughing. "Dinners ready!" Chilli said from the kitchen.
"Alright kids, time to eat," Bandit said as he got up from the floor. Thomas then stops tickling and lets his sisters go. The girls stop laughing and head into the dining room where their mother was waiting for the family to come and eat. Bandit then pulls his son to the side and speaks to him. "See, that wasn't so now was it?" Bandit said with a smile while crossing his arms. "Yeah, I guess not," Thomas said with a chuckle. "Alright mate let's get some grub," Bandit said as he rubs the top of his son's head. Thomas smiles as he and his dad make it over to the dining room.
Later that night while everyone was in bed sleeping, Thomas woke from someone shaking him. Thomas opened his eyes and sees Bingo standing there. "Bingo? What are you doing up," Thomas said with a yawn. "I'm scared, can I sleep with you?" Bingo asked giving puppy dog eyes. "Don't you want to sleep in Dad's bed?" Thomas asked Bingo shook her head still wanting to sleep in her brother's bed. Thomas sighed before getting on the other side of his bed. "Alright get in," Thomas said. "Yay," Bingo said as she climbs into her brother's bed. "Good night big brother I love you," Bingo said as she laid on her side. Thomas didn't know what to think about this since he and his sister didn't spend a whole lot of time together except for today playing "Brother robot" "I love you too sis, good night," Thomas said turning on his left side facing the window. In no time Bingo was asleep and then a few minutes after that Thomas was back to sleep.
