"I thought I told you not to get involved in anything!" Murdoch continued his rant at Samantha.

"It wasn't us!" Sam retorted back.

"You were still in the vicinity." Murdoch continued.

Sam fidgeted in her seat. If anything went wrong in the town, it was always her fault or Pendricks. Murdoch was the biggest person to think this and it wasn't exactly easy to get him off this idea.

"What am I going to say to the mayor about this? My own daughter is near a crime scene of crime!"

Sam continued to stay quiet. After what she had said early, she didn't exactly want to say anything else on the matter.

"Murdoch?!" Brakenreid called from the bullpen.

Murdoch looked up from the argument. Brakenreid was looking for anyone in the station. It was clear that something had happened and needed everyone for it. Murdoch grabbed his coat. Sam just stayed by the door. She didn't know whether she was needed but maybe she wasn't wanted either.

"Samantha…" Murdoch was going to say something but soon saw his daughter's face. She wanted to go. He looked to the inspector for help.

"We'll need all the help we can get Murdoch." Brakenreid called.

"Come on then just keep out of trouble." Murdoch waved before he could finish his sentence however, Sam was already out the door.

"Don't worry about her sir. We'll keep an eye on her." George called back to him.

Murdoch smiled as he caught up with the rest of the team and did not get left behind. George and Henry looked at the bikes outside. They weren't exactly approving of these and didn't want Sam and Murdoch to fight again.

"George what do we do?" Henry whispered.

"Come on Higgins." George answered getting onto the bikes before Higgins could say anything against it.

Sam and Murdoch soon caught up and Murdoch was quite happy to see the two constables already happy with the bikes. Sam sighed quietly and got onto the bike like her friends.

Murdoch and Sam got to the scene first which was a massive dockyard. Both were fast on the bikes so could easily beat everyone else there. There was a russell coming from inside. Well maybe more than a ressutle actually. You had to be there I guess.

"Stay out here until the others get here." Murdoch said to Sam as he walked towards the yard.

"Where are you going?" Sam said before he could go.

"Isn't it obvious?" Murdoch called as he continued to walk into the yard.

"Great!" Sam sighed.

Sam watched as her father entered what could be a potentially dangerous situation. However, if she wanted to keep on his good side she had to do what she was told.

"Where's the detective?" George said, pulling up with Higgins out of breath behind him.

"In there." Sam pointed.

"He's gone in by himself?!" Higgins smirked.

Sam nodded with a massive smile. She knew this wasn't like her dad. Maybe he had changed. Maybe he hadn't and he was just showing off.

"Murdoch?" Brakenreid called from the cart pulling up.

"He's inside!" The three officers called back.

Brakenreid took this onboard. He didn't say anymore after that and just walked up to them.

"How's he doing?"

"He just went in." Sam answered.

Just then three gunshots came from inside. This made all of the officers jump to the high heavens. Sam wanted to rush inside but was held back by George. About twenty officers ran into the scene with Brakenreid and Higgins right behind them.

"Look after Sam!" Brakenreid called.

"But…" Sam tried to call.

Too late, Brakenreid and Higgins were already gone. Sam looked at George. He wasn't going to give in easy especially if someone was in danger like right now.

"Please George." Sam pleaded.

"You heard the inspector." George shook his head.

"George, what if they need help."

George really wanted to say something but Sam was right. If something had happened inside they would everyone they had. George straightened his uniform and let Sam past. He then followed her into the building to see if he could be any help also.

"Inspector?!" Sam called out.

"Sam go away!" Brakenreid called back, not too angry however which was a good sign.

Sam and George followed where the voice was coming from. Brakenreid seemed more concerned, even frightened, when he had called back to them which was never a good sign.

"Inspector?" George called again to see if they were heading the right way.

No answer came back. As it was very dark in the building, Sam grabbed George's hand to make sure they weren't separated. George didn't mind as he didn't want to get separated either. They carried on their way through what seemed like an endless tunnel of stuff.

"How long does this go on for?" George hissed as they carried on.

"Just keep going." Sam whispered back.

George did what his friend said. He made his way through the darkness and finally managed to bump into someone they recognised.

"Ow!" Higgins exclaimed shining a torch onto the two friends.

"Sorry. Couldn't see." George explained getting his torch out too.

Higgins wanted to say more but just gave Sam a blank stare. Sam smirked when Higgins did this.

"What's wrong?" Sam smiled.

Higgins looked at George. George knew what this meant. George tried to keep Sam away but nothing was going to work! Sam pushed his way through her two friends and the officers standing in front of her.

She heard laboured breathing and the inspector talking quietly. Her breaths kept coming and she felt like she was going to hyperventilate. A word her father had told her.

"Inspector?" Sam said with a lump in her throat.

Brakenreid looked up and she could see the worry in his face. Two other officers were kneeling down next to an object she couldn't exactly see what it was.

"Who is that?" Sam asked even though she already knew what the answer was going to be.

"Sam…" Brakenreid stood next to her.

Sam shone her torch down to see her father lying there barely breathing. His jacket was open and his white shirt was covered in red. She kept back crying as she also kneeled next to her father.

"Dad…"
