Pendrick got up and walked over to the phone. He stared at and looked back at the others. I mean normally a phone wasn't scary but when it's ringing in an almost silent police station it was just a bit scary. Pendrick finally picked up the phone after taking quite a few deep breaths.
"Hello?" Pendrick asked.
"Pendrick it's Murdoch." William's voice came from the other side of the phone.
Pendrick took a deep sigh of breath when he heard this. He mouthed towards the group who it was. The rest of the group smiled when they heard this.
"Do you want to talk to Sam?" Pendrick asked.
"No it's fine. Just wanted to hear how the case was going?" Murdoch's voice sounded raspy.
"I don't want to worry you but not good."
Pendrick heard Murdoch sigh. Murdoch was just like Sam. Neither of them liked hearing that something wasn't going right.
"Alright. Have you got any suspects?" Murdoch started the conversation again.
"Yes a few but I don't think they're concrete. We have someone else joining as well now." Pendrick said looking over at Miss Cherry.
"As long as it's not that reporter then it's fine."
Pendrick stopped talking. His eyes went wide once Murdoch said this. Miss cherry had been quite useful so far but Murdoch didn't know that.
"Pendrick you still there?" Murdoch said.
"I think you should be resting. Have a good sleep detective." Pendrick put down the phone.
Sam sighed as she knew he had hung up on her father. She would get him back for that later. Pendrick sat back down quickly before the phone could ring again with Murdoch on the other side again.
"Did you just hang up on my dad?!" Sam smirked.
"Might have done. Can we just forget about that?" Pendrick tried to change the subject.
Sam kept the smirk on her face even though she knew she would be in for it later when she went to see him.
"Maybe we should go and look for Myers." Crabtree spoke up.
"I'm sure he'll be fine. He's a secret agent." Pendrick shook his head.
Crabtree wasn't so sure however. Yes Myers was a secret agent but even they could get into trouble.
"George go and look for Myers. If you can't find him in the near area then we'll go and look for him." Sam made a compromise.
"Okay but I'm not going alone." George stood up but was still a little scared to go.
"I'll go." Higgins volunteered.
"Alright. Make sure you come back safely. If you see anything bad head straight back." Sam ordered them.
George and Higgins headed out of the door. Both of them were a little scared, it being just the two of them but if Sam trusted them then they could do it.
Miss Cherry could tell that neither Pendrick nor Sam wanted her there. From the look on Pendrick's face, detective Murdoch didn't want her there either. She needed to make sure she stayed completely silent though as she had promised.
"So what are we going to do whilst they're gone?" Pendrick spoke.
"Maybe we should go and see Miss James. She might know some more about the case and the bodies." Sam said.
"Good idea." Miss Cherry said feeling chills going through her body from hearing about the morgue.
Sam kept back a smile as she finally found something Miss Cherry didn't like. Miss Cherry was used to dead bodies but seeing them all cut up and all that jazz really didn't make her feel too good. Pendrick didn't really like dead bodies either but thought it might be good for the case if he did what Sam said. They both followed Sam down to the morgue.

Higgins and Crabtree stayed close together as they looked for Myers around town. It was very quiet which didn't make it much better. True it was getting late in the evening so there wouldn't be many people around at this time but there would be the odd one or two at least.
"Where is everyone?" Higgins whispered.
"Who knows. Come on let's look over there." Crabtree tried to keep moving.
"You getting cold or something George." Higgins smiled.
Crabtree kept walking, not listening to Higgins anymore. Higgins heard a crash off in the distance. He quickly ran to catch up to George. He didn't want to be left alone out here.
"Anything George?" Higgins whispered again.
"No but I don't want to go inside just yet." George whispered back.
"You sure? I think we're done."
"Higgins go back inside if you're scared!"
"But Sam told us not to split up. Plus if we split up then one of us could get like captured or something." Higgins warned breathing faster.
"Higgins I know you like my book but you don't have to believe everything you read in them!" George stopped.
Higgins made a face at George. Maybe Higgins was right though. As no one else was out here then they had no one else to protect them. They would be fine though. Right?

Murdoch picked up the phone again. After the talk with Pendrick he really needed to call someone about what was going on. Someone else really needed to know.
"Hello." The voice answered.
"Sir it's Murdoch." Murdoch said into the phone.
"Bloody hell Murdoch I'm on holiday!" The inspector moaned.
"I know sir. I just think maybe we should talk about the case."
"Murdoch, you're in hospital. You should be resting so rest."
"You're not the first one to say that today."
"I bet I'm not." The inspector sounded frustrated.
"It sounds like they haven't gotten very far. Maybe I should return to work early."
"No Murdoch! You stay exactly where you are or I'll send Julia in there to strap you to the bed!" The inspector threatened.
Murdoch sighed. The inspector didn't usually go through with threats but this one sounded all too real! Plus Julia was already mad at him for not asking Sam where she was so he didn't want to get more on Julia's bad side.
"Alright sir. I'll stay put." Murdoch gave in.
"They'll find who shot you Murdoch. Maybe you should have more faith in your daughter." The inspector chuckled.
"Very funny sir. I'll call you back when we know more."
"Murdoch do me a favour and don't tell me until I come back from holiday!"
"Yes sir. Have a nice holiday." Murdoch put the phone down.
Murdoch rubbed his eyes as he felt an overwhelming sense of tiredness coming over him. He hated when this happened in other words whenever he was in hospital! Hospital was not a good place to think as it was loud and he could never get any peace when the nurses came every two seconds.
"Bored?" Julia said from the door.
Murdoch smiled as he saw his wife in the doorway. He stuck his hand out and moved over a bit in bed. Julia laid next to her husband snuggling into his chest making sure she didn't hurt him.
"Who was that on the phone?" She asked, yawning.
"The inspector. Just informing him about the case." William sighed.
"But he's on holiday." Julia chuckled.
"That's what he said. If I didn't tell him though he would be mad I didn't."
"I'm sure he doesn't see it like that."
Murdoch chuckled. Julia could tell he was missing the action of being on a case. Not that he didn't trust the other members of station house No.4 but he would rather be on the case in person. True she wasn't too happy that she wasn't involved especially as she had heard Pendrick had got involved.
"How's Sam?" Julia asked knowing she had come to see William.
"I thought she called you?"
"She did. Didn't say much though."
"She never does."
"Takes after her father." Julia said looking into William's eyes.
Julia snuggled further and put her head under William's chin. She then fell asleep being so warm next to her husband. William smiled as he fell asleep, still thinking a lot about the case and how everyone was doing on it.

Higgins and Crabtree had searched everywhere and there was still no sign of Myers. They were about to turn around and head back to the station when Crabtree noticed something.
"Come on let's go and check it out." Crabtree whispered even though they were alone.
"Maybe we shouldn't. Maybe we should just go back and come back when we have more people." Higgins suggested.
"Fine go back. I'm going." Crabtree waved his hands.
Higgins looked at Crabtree and then back towards the station and then back at George. He couldn't leave George alone but he didn't want to go much further. Sam would yell at him if he left George alone though. He tutted and then ran to keep up with George.
"So you came then." George smirked.
"Don't say a word." Higgins hissed.
George felt like sniggering like a school girl at this point. Higgins was just a big scaredy cat! They walked towards where George had seen something. Luckily there wasn't anything around however much to Higgins relief!
"See nothing here. No one home." Higgins waved his hands in front of him.
Before George could cut back with some snide remark, the floor fell through with George and Higgins landing on a cold damp concrete floor.
"Ouch." George groaned as he sat up.
"Is that all you're going to say?" Higgins groaned back.
"You had to open your big mouth didn't you?!" George pushed Higgins over.
"It wasn't my fault we fell through the floor!" Higgins fought back.
George wasn't in the mood to argue. He quickly got back on his feet and looked around. His body felt awful after falling on a concrete floor but he could deal with it. Higgins on other hand maybe not but they had to keep going and get out of here. Wherever they were.
