Pendrick slowly made his way to the morgue. He didn't want to get yelled at but he also didn't want to interrupt the conversation. Well okay, shouting match. Miss James seemed to be the loudest. Miss Cherry was trying to keep up with the yelling but sounded like she was losing.

"You know you're not really involved in the case?!" Miss James shouted as Pendrick came around the corner.

"Well maybe you should be more important in this case. Maybe you should turn your attention somewhere else." Miss Cherry fought back.

Pendrick thought that was enough. If they fought anymore then it would probably turn to fighting with their fists. Miss James noticed Pendrick first and stopped shouting. Miss Cherry looked very awkward as Pendrick came closer. He didn't want to be there alone, especially with two fighting people.

"So we wanted to know why you were fighting but I guess it wasn't anything important." Pendrick said sarcastically.

Miss James rolled her eyes. Pendrick had no idea about how important this case was to all of the station house. Miss Cherry on the other hand was just part of the press. She really didn't need to be here!

"Did you manage to give her the photo?" Pendrick managed to change the subject before more fighting happened.

Miss James went over to one of the magnifying glasses. She then put the photo under it and looked more closely to see if she could see the person.

"Well?" Pendrick asked.

"Here. That might be more useful." Miss James passed the picture back.

Pendrick thanked her and then headed out.

"This case is important James. Please solve it." Miss James shouted after him and Miss Cherry.

Sam rushed into the hospital with all her might, nearly falling over her own feet with how fast she was going. Higgins and Crabtree were quite far behind as she entered the hospital and started looking around. She then went over to the receptionist hoping someone would know more. Then she remembered she hadn't really listened to George and what had happened. Oh well she could find out.

"Excuse me. I'm Sam Murdoch." Sam said.

The receptionist looked up from their work. Her face said it all. She called over to one of the nurses. This never meant a good thing especially if the receptionist knew as well.

"Are you Sam?" The nurse put a hand on Sam's shoulder.

"Yes please tell me what's going on?" Sam asked, getting more and more agitated she wasn't being told anything.

"Your fathers heart stopped and we found more internal bleeding. We had to take him back into surgery. I'm sorry." The nurse told Sam.

Sam nodded once and the nurse left. Sam kept back tears as Crabtree and Higgins finally appeared. She gave them a shake of her head. They walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"Sam." Julia said from behind them.

Sam and the others took Julia into the group hug. Sam felt very weird hugging in the middle of the hospital reception but right now it didn't matter. Higgins and Crabtree went to find out more as Julia sat down with Sam off to the side.

"How's the case going?" Julia asked, moving a piece of hair out of Sam's face.

"We might have a new lead. Myers is missing and Miss James and Miss Cherry are fighting. So yeah it's going great." Sam chuckled.

"Miss Cherry is involved in the case?" Julia raised an eyebrow.

"She's quite useful. Plus Higgins brought her in not me." Sam put her hands up.

"Try telling your father that." Julia smiled.

Sam smiled even brighter. A doctor then came over to them. Sam raised her head but didn't stand up just in case it was bad news. She knew it wasn't as he was strong but you never know.

Pendrick was drying out the photo Miss James had edited. He was just waiting to make sure it came out right. Miss Cherry was going over her notes that she had so far. Not much as Higgins and Crabtree hadn't told her as she was a member of the press. Sam had told her even less!

"Anything yet?" Miss Cherry looked up.

"Just a minute. Here we go." Pendrick pinned the photo to the blackboard.

Miss Cherry looked more closely at it. The photo had become a lot clearer. She didn't know exactly what went down but everyone knew what happened to Detective Murdoch. She didn't get along very well with the detective but she knew how much she meant to the city. Nobody wanted to lose him. Well apart from the criminals obviously.

"Anyone you recognize?" Miss Cherry looked more closely at the face of the person.

"I don't. I'm sure someone in this investigation will." Pendrick wrote something down on the board.

"What's that?"

"The place. A few buildings in the background. Exits that the criminal might have used."

"Do you have enough room?!"

"We'll see, won't we."

Pendrick found just about enough space for what he wanted to write. Miss Cherry cringed as she heard the chalk on the board. It was a horrible sound and seemed to match the case right now.

"Come to think of it, where is everybody?" Miss Cherry looked around at the empty station.

"They answered a call. I'm guessing they've gone to whatever that is." Pendrick shrugged.

"Any idea what it was?"

"Didn't sound too urgent. Must just be something like where Myers is or something."

Miss Cherry thought more about it. True they would have told them if it was something they all had to hear about. She had heard very quick footsteps earlier heading out though.

"He got through the surgery. He's resting now." The doctor told Sam and Julia who both hugged when they heard the news.

"So he's going to be okay? Like there's nothing else underlying…" Sma made sure to ask.

"We've looked everywhere. We're pretty sure we've got everything." The doctor calmed their thoughts.

Julia thanked the doctor and let him back to work.

"Thank goodness for that." Sam whispered under her breath.

"I told you he was going to be fine. Now maybe you should get back to the station. Solve this case for him." Julia finally said.

Sam was surprised her mother said this. Normally she didn't like Sam getting involved with cases especially ones that had taken out someone else. Julia nodded as she saw the surprise on her daughter's face.

"Are you sure?" Sam asked, smiling from ear to ear.

"I know how much this means to you. Go make me proud." Julia said with a little ease.

Sam smiled again and then took a deep breath in. She could now put all of her focus on the case. Julia patted her on the back as Crabtree and Higgins re-entered. They saw the smiles across both womens faces so smiled as well.

"He's going to be okay. Now let's get on with the case." Sam urged them as they got ready to leave.

"Excuse me Miss Murdoch." The receptionist said to Sam.

"Yes?"

"There's someone on the phone for you. He sounds pretty angry." The receptionist looked worried.

Sam was baffled as to who would call her right now. She took the phone off of the receptionist.

"Samantha Murdoch." Sam said into the phone.

"Sam what the hell is going on?!" The inspector's voice boomed through the phone and Sam had to move away from the receiver for a minute.

"Inspector, lovely to hear from you." Sam told everyone who it was.

"You haven't answered my question. What is going on?"

"Everything's fine. We got the case sorted just focus on enjoying your holiday and you can deal with it all when you get back." Sam tried to end the conversation.

"Sam don't you dare hang up on me!"

"Have a good time inspector."

Sam hurried to put the receiver down before she got an earful from her boss. Everyone around could tell the inspector wasn't happy being kept out of the loop but for everyone's best interest it might be better to keep him out of it. Also Sam didn't want to bother her father with having to try and deal with Brackenreid right now!

"Thanks for that." Sam mouthed smiling at the receptionist.

The receptionist smiled back and then took the receiver back again. She didn't know exactly what was going on but it didn't look too good.

"What did the inspector want?" George asked, seeing the relief on Sam's face that that was over.

"Doesn't matter now. Let's get back to the station and see if that picture has revealed itself." Sam barged past Higgins out of the door.

Higgins looked to George for support but was just laughed at by George and Julia. George said his goodbyes and well wishes to Julia and left running to catch up with the other Murdoch. Higgins did the same as he was still a little confused as to why this picture had so much importance to the case at this specific moment.
