Pendrick woke up as he heard the telegram come through. When Sam told him that the telegram would come through in the morning, he didn't realise it would be this early! He called Higgins to wake him up. Higgins responded with a groan but awoke as well. Crabtree stood at the door as he had heard Pendrick call. Sam was quick behind him still yawning and waking up.

"What's it say?" Sam asked wiping her eyes, to get rid of the sleep dust as Pendrick went to see the telegram Watts had sent.

"He might have a clue as to which gang was behind this. Also who the ringleader is." Pendrick read out.

"Only we already have that information." Sam moaned.

"He has more apparently. Here have a look." Pendrick passed it over to Sam.

Sam took the piece of paper from Pendrick. The telegram was quite long so she sat down.

"The gang leader doesn't sound familiar. Neither does the gang to be honest. Must be something from Watts' side." Sam shrugged as she kept reading.

"Where is he?" Crabtree asked.

"Vancouver if I remember correctly. Can't remember exactly what case he was on. True knowing Watts it was probably something of his." Higgins answered.

"He never tells us what he's up to." Crabtree rolled his eyes.

"Anyway, let's hear the gang's name. Myers might have written something down about it." Higgins said looking over to the blackboard.

"I wish he was here and believe me I never thought I would say that!" Sam made sure everyone knew.

"I don't think we did either." Crabtree backed her up.

"The gang is Poletics." Sam told Higgins.

Higgins looked over the things they had from Myers. He hadn't left them much but it was enough. Higgins saw something which might be of use. He snatched it off the board and brought it over to the team.

"Here. That's them, looks like Myers has been following them for months now." Higgins told them.

"He did say something about a case he was on." Sam thought back.

"How much has he found out about them?" Pendrick chirped in.

"Not much. Just where he had found them and where they might be right now." Higgins looked over the paper again.

"That's enough." Sam tried to keep things in a light mood.

"So what do we do now?" Higgins asked.

Sam stood up from where she was sitting. She then went over to the blackboard and took a hold of a few things. She gave it out to the others. Crabtree and Higgins got the same thing and Pendrick got something else. Sam kept a hold of something so she had something to investigate.

"Higgins, Crabtree you go and search the last place the gang was last seen in Toronto. Pendrick see if you can find anything about Myers in the local papers and I'll stay here to see if Myers comes back." Sam said, giving everyone a mission.

Crabtree and Higgins didn't even question Sam and went out to their cases. Pendrick on the other hand, was a little worried about leaving Sam on her own. With Myers missing and all the sounds that had been heard, he wasn't too sure she was going to be okay. Sam twiddled her thumbs as she waited for Pendrick to leave. She sighed when he wouldn't leave.

"I just gave you something to do. Why aren't you doing it?" Sam asked, a little mad.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with me or want me to stay here?" Pendrick asked, looking around.

"James I'm going to be fine!" Sam tried to reassure Pendrick.

Pendrick still wasn't sure about leaving Sam on her own. True Sam could handle herself. He nodded and went to find anything in the local papers. Sam appreciated Pendrick being a little worried but he always went over the top with it.

Higgins and Crabtree finally found themselves at the place where the gang was last seen. To their surprise it was the factory they had only just investigated a day ago. They looked at each other ready to enter at their own peril, hoping the gang weren't there.

"Be careful Henry. Don't want to fall through the floor again." Crabtree whispered just in case anyone was listening.

"You fell through first!" Higgins whispered back.

Crabtree just ignored him and carried on into the warehouse. It was still quite dark inside like the last time so Crabtree cautiously took out his torch and shone it around the warehouse. Nothing came back in the light luckily so they could go in.

"George?"

"Yes Henry."

"What do we do if we do find the gang in here? I mean should we leave a trail or something." Henry looked back to the place they had come from.

"We can find our way back Henry. We'll just have to run for it." Crabtree stayed calm.

"Right. It's just you know, after Detective Murdoch I'm a little worried we might not come out of this unscaved."

"Higgins you're not helping!" Crabtree hissed.

Higgins straightened his uniform. Crabtree was right, there wasn't anything to be scared of yet. They were police officers, the gang probably weren't even there. Well that's what he hoped anyway.

Sam was still looking over everything they had so far on the case. She hoped Myers would return whilst the others were away. She had told them he would be back but now she was even doubting herself. The phone then rang which interrupted her thoughts.

"Station House No4." Sam answered.

"Sam did you get my message?" Watts' voice sounded rushed.

"Yes we did. Thanks. We think it might be useful." Sam was concerned as to why Watts sounded so rushed.

"Good. I was just checking in with how it's all going." Watts calmed his voice.

"Watts is something wrong? You sound like you're running."

"No it's nothing. Just need to get back to my case…"

"Did my dad tell you to call me?!" Sam figured it out.

Watts stayed quiet for a moment. This just showed Murdoch had told him to call Sam. Sam knew this meant he didn't trust her. It felt like she wasn't trusted by anyone.

"Yes he did. He just wanted me to check in on you guys. Nothing personal." Watts tried to apologise.

"It's fine Watts. It's not your fault." Sam sighed.

"Just call me if anything happens okay. I don't need to tell your dad everything."

"I get it. Thanks anyway." Sam ended the call.

Typical dad! Of course he would get Watts, who was miles away, to check in on her! True he probably didn't have much to do in hospital. She just wished everyone would leave her to it instead of checking her every move!

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Higgins was hiding behind Crabtree letting him go first. He wasn't scared or anything but Crabtree would probably be able to fight the gang off more easily then he could. Crabtree moved quietly and slowly making sure he didn't make any noise if he didn't have to.

"George? Do you remember where we fell through the floor?" Higgins suddenly remembered.

"Not really. Just make sure you put your feet on solid ground." Crabtree stopped as he answered Higgins' question.

Higgins nodded as he looked down at the floor for the rest of the steps. Before they could talk anymore however, the warehouse became more light as they continued to walk. They finally found themselves in a different part of the house. A big room that was filled with light. Crabtree turned his flashlight off as they might need it in case they went anywhere dark again.

"Well we've gone a different way." Higgins said a bit more calm now they were back in the light.

"This is a big place Higgins. Come on let's have a look around." Crabtree said, waving at Higgins to move out.

"As long as we don't split up."

"We won't. Just watch where you step, we don't know if this floor is so safe either."

"George. Please don't go."

Higgins grabbed Crabtree's arm. Crabtree really wanted to shrug his hand off but if it made Higgins feel better then he would have to deal with it. Crabtree led the way further into the room, his footsteps creaking the floorboards underneath. Not exactly the most safe room in the world!

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Pendrick hadn't had any luck at the local paper. Miss Cherry had sent him away because she would have got told off if he had stayed any longer. He was headed back to the station house to get another task or to see if Myers had turned up yet.

"Sam I'm back." Pendrick called into the station.

"Anything?" Sam called back.

"Miss Cherry said she hadn't heard anything and no one else wanted to answer my questions. Either that or they had no idea who Myers was." Pendrick sighed.

"I thought Miss Cherry said she was going to help us?!" Sam tutted.

"She was but apparently not anymore."

Sam sighed as she sank even further back into her chair. Miss Cherry apparently could no longer be trusted. What a surprise! Press normally in a case like this wouldn't help you. Miss Cherry seemed no different.

"Crabtree and Higgins back yet?" Pendrick asked, taking his coat off and placing it over a chair.

"Not yet and they haven't called either. There might not be any phone boxes near them though." Sam shook her head.

"Where did they go again?"

"A warehouse the gang had been seen last."

A crash came from outside. Pendrick went to investigate but saw a cat runaway so put it down to that.

"Just a cat. After all those crashes last night though it could be anything." Pendrick shrugged.

"Those crashes are nothing." Sam huffed.

Pendrick looked out of the window. Sam was probably right but it didn't hurt checking it out. Sam just put it down to the cat and left it at that. Pendrick then looked back at Sam.

"You're getting paranoid." Sam shook her head with her usual smile.

"Yeah probably." Pendrick smiled back.

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Higgins finally became a bit braver. He had split a little away from Crabtree but hadn't moved ages away. Crabtree kept a beady eye on Higgins just in case. A crash came from one of the corners. Crabtree went to go and check it out.

"What is it?" Higgins asked.

"Be quiet! We need to go. Come on." Crabtree grabbed Higgins and headed back to the station house.

"Why what was it?"

"It's nothing but we shouldn't stay there anymore."

Higgins didn't ask anything anymore. Crabtree obviously wasn't going to give anymore information so there wasn't any use in asking. They managed to get out of the warehouse and took a breath when they got outside. They looked behind them one more time.

"I think we need reinforcement if we come back." Crabtree smirked.

"I don't think I've ever agreed with you more." Higgins breathed out.

Crabtree patted Higgins on the back and then kept walking. If the gang was behind them, they didn't want to stay there to find out!
