SailorStar9: After the emotional chapter 100, we hit the filler chapter 101. (Sighs) Guys and girls, is it too hard for you to leave a review, instead of putting fic on your favorited list and story alerts?
Disclaimers: I own nothing, except for the plot bunny and my OCs.
Chapter 101: Signal of Rebellion
"It's hotter than we heard." Ulyo muttered, she, Gray and Juvia having arrived at their job site.
"It's like hot air come out every time I breathe." Juvia added.
"All right, let's do it." Gray grinned. "Ice Geyser!"
"Water Slicer!" Juvia released her water arcs.
"Slicing Shark Wave!" Ulyo let her attack loose, the two water attacks cutting off Gray's ice sculpture into tiny icy bits.
"Well, this should last them a while." Gray nodded proudly at his handiwork.
"What's wrong, Ulyo-sama?" Juvia looked at the deep-in-thought mage.
"Nothing," Ulyo replied. "It's just all this weird weather and it's proximity to the closing of the Grand Magic Games..." she frowned. "Gray, Juvia, head back first. I need to discuss my suspicions with the other Senshi."
"Right." Gray nodded. "We'll see you later in the Guild Hall!" he shouted.
"I really hope I'm thinking too much into this." Ulyo muttered and floo-called the other Senshi to their centralized meeting point.
"That's strange." Erza stated, once the bulk of the mages gathered in the Guild Hall.
"It certainly is." Carla agreed.
"Yeesh, you're only noticing it now?" Gray muttered. "How long are you gonna stay dressed like this?" he looked at Erza's workman uniform. "It's goofy."
"The same back at you." Erza retorted at the half-dressed ice mage. "Except you need to get dressed."
"So what's strange?" Wendy asked.
"Natsu and Lucy's job." Carla replied.
"There's no village called Seabellus." Erza supplied. "I've been out on jobs in that area several times. it's a habitat for giant sea slugs, but there is no village."
"Then someone sent a fake job request?" Gray surmised.
"Why would anyone do that?" Kinana wondered.
"I have a bad feeling about this..." Carla stated. "I doubt it's just a prank."
"Lucy-sama!" Yukino burst in the hall.
"That voice..." Juvia turned.
"It's Yukino." Gray recognized the Stellar Mage.
"Is Lucy-sama here?" Yukino asked.
"What's going on?" Erza asked. "What are you about in such a hurry about?"
"I have to tell Lucy-sama something as soon as possible." Yukino insisted.
"Are those the keys of the Scales and the Fish?" Erza asked after Yukino placed her two Golden Keys on the table.
"Yes," Yukino nodded. "The keys to summon Libra and Pisces. But suddenly, there's no response when I try to call on them."
"Libra and Pisces..." Kinana muttered.
"And both of them are..." Juvia trailed.
"Yeah," Gray confirmed. "Celestial Spirits of the 12 Golden Gates."
"There are many Celestial Spirits." Yukino took her keys. "But those 12 have special power."
"That's odd." Juvia noted. "Celestial Spirits that have a contract with Celestial Spirit Mages are supposed to be bound to follow the mage's orders."
"You don't know the cause?" Erza inquired.
"I looked into various possibilities, but all I came up with was that it's possible Lucy-sama can't use her golden keys either."
"My bad feeling about this is getting stronger by the minute." Carla stated.
"Mercury, where's the fire?" Jupiter asked, being the last to arrive.
"Jupiter, have you been able to communicate with Taurus lately?" the transformed Ulyo asked.
"No," Jupiter replied. "Why?"
"Neither Venus nor I have been able to commune with Leo or Scorpio." Mars supplied.
"I may have figured out," Mercury stated. "What's causing the strange weather of late; I think it's related to the reason why we can't commune with our Stellar representations. Them closing the Eclipse Gate must have caused some change within them."
SailorStar9: Now that's done, read and review.
