Chapter 107: Gray vs. Cancer! Dance Battle!
"Shake me!" Eclipse Cancer waved his claws up and down. "Shake me up! Me? Cancer. You? Let's move!"
"I messed up." Gray muttered. "I should've gone after a different spirit."
"Show me your moves, kani!" Eclipse Cancer was now twirling on the floor on his back.
"My moves?" Gray echoed.
"Your hot, cool and soulful moves, kani!" Eclipse Cancer moonwalked and posed.
"That doesn't explain anything!" Gray snapped.
"I use the additional effect of an S-class Mage." Cana declared. "For the next three turns, normal Mages get +1,000,000 attacking power and Gildarts become invincible, winning every fight!"
"I don't accept that effect!" Eclipse Scorpio protested.
"I am the rule." Cana reminded. "Gildarts, block Aries! How's that?" she grinned after Gildarts dematerialized Eclipse Aries. "Now you don't have any Celestial Spirits that you attack on your field."
"Turn change." Eclipse Scorpio hissed.
"Fairy's turn." Cana declared. "Draw sequence. I skip the standby sequence . I'm gonna win it this turn. "Battle sequence. Invincible Gildarts destroys everything!"
"This can't be happening!" Eclipse Scorpio wailed, flying backwards as Gildarts' punch leveled the field.
With the fight won, Cana walked over and tapped the glowing key on the unconscious Eclipse Scorpio's forehead.
"What are you just standing there for, kani?" Eclipse Cancer asked, as he wiggled his waist. "We're going to have a dance battle, kani!"
"Dance battle?" Gray echoed.
"That's right, kani." Eclipse Cancer continued shaking his body. "If you don't earn points by dancing something cool, you're gonna die hot, kani!"
"Dance, you say." Gray looked at the scoreboard and back at his opponent. "No good." he muttered. "Even if he says I'm gonna die, I just can't dance."
"That suffering face is cool, kani!" Eclipse Cancer gushed. "Just looking at you makes me wanna move hotter and more soulfully. Present, kani!" he tossed a pair of red dancing shoes at Gray's feet. "They're the legendary red shoes. Once you put them on, you'll keep dancing until you die. I remade them especially for you, kani."
"My feet are moving on their own." Gray was shocked to find himself tap-dancing.
"Ultra cool kani!" Eclipse Cancer grinned.
"Stop it!" Gray barked. "I'd rather die than do this!"
"Kani." Eclipse Cancer sighed. "That's the coolly agonized face I wanted to see, kani."
"This isn't..." Gray muttered. "This isn't me. This is a dream. Just a nightmare."
"No, no." Eclipse Cancer tsked. "It's reality, kani. And I've found a simmering, hotter dance soul inside of you, kani. Now I'm gonna set it free, kani!" and sent an energy slash straight towards Gray's chest. "In order to release the heart you had locked up, I cut through the wall of your heart known as a sense of shame."
"I won't lose." Gray declared firmly, having somehow gained a fedora hat. "Even at dancing."
"Star the music, kani!" Eclipse Cancer ordered. "Cool, kani!" he gushed, Gray breaking out MJ's moves.
"I sense a disturbance in the force." Aeon Mercury looked up at the ceiling. "As if someone's concealed hearts were suddenly cut free."
"I'm gonna dance!" Gray declared. "I'm gonna dance like I fight. This is a battle dance revolution. Nobody can stop me now!"
"I can't get enough, kani!" Eclipse Cancer was amazed after Gray ended his dance sequence. "This is no time to be admiring, kani." he saw Gray's scores increase. "I'm gonna win this thing, kani. How's this, kani?" he restarted dancing. "Crab day is night fever, kani!"
"Crab day?" Gray scoffed. "If we're talking dance, it's gonna be Saturday night, right?"
"Let's go-go with a nostalgic go-go dance, kani." Eclipse Cancer countered Gray's 'Saturday Night Fever' moves.
"No, if you're looking back all the time, you'll never get ahead." Gray corrected. "My dancing faces the future. Ice Make: Floor!" he turned the dance floor into an ice rink.
"Who said anything about ice-skating?" Eclipse Cancer gaped when Gray had somehow put on ice skates.
"A regular dance floor isn't enough room for me." Gray replied. "Watch this, I'll start with a cool triple axle! Gray Bauer!"
"I can't get enough!" Eclipse Cancer stood astonished.
"And Gray Spin!" Gray continued with a camel spin. "Gray Back Spin! Gray Man Spin!" he added a catch-foot spin to his routine. "And then, step sequence." he started posing. "Lastly, 100 Spin Gray!" he ended his routine.
"Intense, kani!" Eclipse Cancer squealed. "Oh no, kani!" he looked at the scoreboard. "I'm gonna lose, kani! In that case, second stage start, kani!"
"What are the rules this time?" Gray asked after the lights turned red.
"The rules are simple," Eclipse Cancer started dancing. "It's a dance-battle, kani. This time, it really is a dance battle, kani." and dived at Gray who jumped to dodge the claw.
"I see." Gray noted. "We battle as we dance. I think it's about time I settle this coolly." he dodged Eclipse Cancer's strikes. "Ice Cannon!"
"More!" Eclipse Cancer taunted, deflecting the blast. "Come on, kani!"
"Ice Make: Lance!" Gray released another attack.
"There's nothing these claws can't cut through, kani!" Eclipse Cancer boasted, deflecting the ice shards.
"Then how about this?" Gray questioned. "Ice Impact!"
"Double Claw, kani!" Eclipse Cancer dodged the mechanical drill and slashed the construct apart. "The game is over, kani!" he rushed in to end the fight.
"That's what I've been waiting for." Gray grinned. Dodging Eclipse Cancer's strike, he shifted himself to the back and grabbed his opponent's wrist. "You taught me the wonders of dance, so now it's my turn to teach you something. First, Gray Fancy Spiral!" he twirled Eclipse Cancer around. "Next, Gray Rolling Jump!" he tossed Eclipse Cancer into the air. "And Gray Twist Lift!" he threw Eclipse Cancer into the air, causing him to spin horizontally. "This is our pair dance!"
"You can do what you want with me, kani." Eclipse Cancer blushed.
"Oh, really?" Gray asked as Eclipse Cancer jumped off. "Then, I'll coolly send you back home. Ice Blade: Seven Slice Dance!" he ended the fight. "What have I been doing?" he wondered, his inner wall reforming. "I have hazy memories of it."
"After I went to the trouble of opening the wall to unleash your heart..." Eclipse Cancer looked at this stern opponent.
"Hey." Gray growled. "You'd better not tell anybody that I was dancing." he warned. "If you do, I'll kill you. Sheesh..." he muttered and tapped the glowing key on Eclipse Cancer's forehead. "Anyway, I'll just pretend this never happened." he swore.
"My weirdness senses are tingling..." Aeon Mercury muttered. "I sense... Gray just did something ridiculous and I missed it."
"What was that impact before?" Hisui looked at Arcadios after tremors shook the portal entrance.
"I don't know." Arcadios replied. "However, it seems there's been a change here, too. Look." he turned to the 13th portal that had just appeared.
"A door." Hisui blinked. "What is it?"
"I don't know." Arcadios admitted. "The only thing that's certain is that it leads somewhere, probably a place where danger lurks."
"That mark..." Aeon Mercury frowned. "I recognize it; the 13th Golden Zodiac,Ophiuchus, the Snake Charmer."
"Let's go." Hisui instructed. "It may hold the key to solving what's happening to the Celestial Spirits."
