Chapter 113: Hearts In Ice

Out in space, a comet made entirely of ice was speeding towards Earthland.

"Ah, beautiful Earth." Snow Queen Kaguya drawled on her ice throne on the comet. "I shall make it even more beautiful." she closed her wandering hands over the outline of Earthland. "And Earth shall be mine." with a wave of her arms, she sent a swarm of ice shards towards Earthland and chuckled sinisterly.

The next day, Juvia was strolling around town when she spotted a glittering pink crystal in the store window. "So pretty..." the water mage gushed as she peered closer. As if drawn by the crystal, she stepped into the shop.

"Ulyo, this just came in." Kinana slid a plate of sugar stars over to the Guild Guardian the next day.

"This certainly brings back memories." Ulyo mused, popping a light green star into her mouth.

"What does?" Gray took his seat beside her at the bar counter.

"Want one?" Ulyo offered a sugar star to him. "Sugar stars look like shooting stars." she rolled the sugar star between her fingers. "When I was still a kid, every time I eat one, I used to wish that I'll meet my birth father one day."

"Beautiful Earth," Snow Queen Kaguya declared. "The treasure that I've wanted since so long ago, it's finally time for it to be mine!"

Descending from her journeying comet, she reappeared above the dark clouded-covered sky and blew out a massive snowstorm, creating her Snow Dancers. "Snow Dancers, my sweet little servants, turn Earth into a giant block of ice!"

"Burning Mandala!" Reiana's fire rings melted the Snow Dancer which had crossed her path, the said Snow Dancer having turned the citizens into ice sculptures beforehand.

"Crescent Storm!" elsewhere, Ditea's beam shower blasted her Snow Dancer to bits and unfreezing the people who had been frozen.

"Thunder Dragon!" Litana's lightning construct snapped the Snow Dancer into half with its jaws, defrosting the iced-over ground. "Geez, don't they know it's the wrong season for snow? Girls," she opened her communicator. "We've got a problem."

"No kidding." Ditea muttered. "Senshi meeting."

"To think that Earth actually had people against me." Snow Queen Kaguya muttered, reappearing on her ice comet with her remaining Snow Dancers. "Snow Dancers, have you found the crystal that's in Magnolia? That can freeze the entire world at once!" she barked when the Snow Dancers came back negative. "FIND IT! Long ago," she reminisced. "A light bounced me off when I tried to approach Earth. And it forced me to take a long journey. No need to rush now." she soothed herself. "I just need to switch my plans on how I take over Earth. I will slowly make Earth mine, without anyone noticing after I find that crystal."

Back in Juvia's room in Fairy Hills, the crystal shard the water mage had bought was slowly draining her of her life force.

"What were those things?" Ditea asked.

"Another new enemy trying to take over Earth?" Litana guessed.

"In any case, we should be careful." Ulyo warned.

"Agreed." Reiana nodded.

"You don't look too good, Juvia." Lucy remarked, giving the downtrodden water mage a worrying look.

"Juvia is fine." Juvia assured. "Juvia is just a little tired."

"Maybe you should stay in Fairy Hills to rest." Levy suggested.

"There hasn't been anything strange these few days." Mira noted, bringing Ulyo her glass of fruit juice.

"The others have also reported that they hadn't appeared at all since." Ulyo confirmed, stirring her beverage. "It's been calm, too calm."

"Ulyo, did you feel something?" Gray looked up from his grilled fish.

"No, nothing." Ulyo replied. "But I get this feeling it isn't over."

"Sailor Senshi, you can stay in that illusion!" Snow Queen Kaguya laughed, her ice shards that had fallen on Earthland had started growing in size.

"JUVIA!" Lucy and Levy shouted, both female mages catching the unconscious water mage before she hit the ground.

"Wendy!" Lucy looked around for the Sky Dragon Slayer. "Please help Juvia!"

"Yes." Wendy nodded. "Her energy..." the petite healer gasped. "Is so low."

"Get her into the infirmary." Ulyo instructed. "Wendy, assist me."

"Yes." the soft-spoken girl nodded.

"This doesn't make sense..." Ulyo frowned, after leaving Juvia in Wendy's hands. "Unless... Levy, Erza, did Juvia get anything new recently?"

The two Fairy Hill inhabitants looked at each other. "I think she bought a pink crystal a few days ago." Levy replied.

"Oh no!" Laki ran in. "Fairy Hills..."

"Laki, take a breath first." Erza

"Fairy Hills has been frozen!" Laki exclaimed.

"I've found it!" Snow Queen Kaguya appeared in Juvia's room and reclaimed the crystal. "This crystal seems to have multiplied its power by sucking up this room's owner's life energy." with that, she vanished.

"This energy reaction..." Ulyo was hurrying to Fairy Hills. "Snow Queen Kaguya? She came back?"

"And now is the time to lock Earth inside a beautiful world of ice!" Snow Queen Kaguya declared and tossed the charged-up crystal into the ocean. She laughed as her throne grew in size, her powered-up Snow Dancers flying all over Fiore and freezing everything and everyone. "Now everything freeze away!"

"Am I too late?" Ulyo breathed in shock when she returned to Fairy Tail to find the Guild building locked in a block of ice. She then turned to see one of the ice columns shining and exploded outwards.

"That wasn't nice." Gray snorted, freeing himself.

"I see." Ulyo nodded slowly. "You're an ice mage, so ice should've no effect on you. And if that's the case, it won't affect Lyon-aniki either."

"Are you sure we need Lyon?" Gray asked as the two mages set out. "I'm sure we can defeat this... snow queen by ourselves."

"I'd rather be safe than sorry." Aeon Mercury replied. "And I think we're a bit too late." she added when Snow Queen Kaguya appeared before them.

"How?" Snow Queen Kaguya demanded. "Nothing can escape my ice!"

"Ice is also my element!" Gray glared, readying an attack. "Ice Make: Sword!" he formed an ice sword.

Snow Queen Kaguya, however, was not one for waiting and tackled the Ice Make mage. As the both landed on the frozen ground, the three-meter tall ice woman felt something hitting her side. Looking down, she found the sword embedded in her stomach.

"Touche." Gray retorted.

"Very cute, but it'll take more than that to kill me." Snow Queen Kaguya sneered. Grabbing both his arms, she locked Gray in a column of ice. Pulling the sword out of her body, she shattered it and walked leisurely towards Aeon Mercury.

"Blood?" Aeon Mercury frowned, seeing the liquid drip down the wound. "So, you're not invincible after all." she realized.

"I may not be invincible, little girl, but you lack the power to stop me." Snow Queen Kaguya mocked.

"And that's where you are wrong, Kaguya." Aeon Mercury corrected. "We share the same element, but there is one thing you don't know about me."

"And that would be?" Snow Queen Kaguya taunted, now less than a meter away from the Ice Senshi and ready to refreeze her.

"Your blood isn't cold enough." Aeon Mercury shrugged causally, forming an ice net. "And that is your flaw."

"Too bad you'll die before you get to exploit it." Snow Queen Kaguya formed an ice sword of her own.

"Not really." Aeon corrected. "Hail Snare!"

"Stupid girl!" Snow Queen Kaguya glared, now ensnared in the enlarged ice net. "I'll kill you with my sword once I'm free!"

"For an ice queen, you're rather hotheaded." Aeon Mercury glared, powering up her attack and aiming at the wound in Kaguya's stomach. "Chill. Frozen Rage!"

"Impossible..." Snow Queen Kaguya hissed when the ice beam hit her and freezing her blood.

"I'm a Senshi." Aeon Mercury retorted. "Nothing's impossible for us."

Snow Queen Kaguya just glared at her for a few seconds before her whole body turned into snow and scattered.

Aeon Mercury turned around and saw the ground unfreeze and revert back to its original state.

"How did you..." Gray gaped in awe when he was unfrozen.

"Remember the wound you put on Kaguya?" Aeon asked reminded.

"And?" Gray blinked.

"She bled." Aeon Mercury replied. "I just trapped her and frozen her blood."

"That's one nasty way to die." Gray cringed. "Think the Guild's back to normal?" he asked as he walked the de-transformed Ulyo back.

"I really hope so." Ulyo replied.
