There was a bitter taste in her mouth, one that wasn't so overwhelming that it woke her from her fragmented daze, but one that sat at the back of her throat. Taunting her, reaching down into her stomach and pulling at her heart until it was ready to burst.

Immediately after reviving Gohan, Calina's body had reacted accordingly. Her super-Saiyan status had fell off as her body barely managed to stay conscious. Every ounce of strength had been pulled from her, all to save him.

Calina's wild celestial blue eyes widened in fear and regret, as all at once she realized what had happened.

She couldn't just keep her hands to herself.

Calina's stark black hair fell into her face and cascaded over her shoulders, shining in the harsh light of the mid day sun. Her locks shifted over her body as it trembled, trying with every ounce of her being to pull away from him. She needed to run away from him, from them.

Calina looked down at him again, and all at once, in an instant, she felt her heart begin to flutter.

All of her memories of them when they were just kids, and growing up together; all of it.

Their first kiss, spending endless nights under a open canvas of limitless stars and love. Everything she'd became before all of this was because of him, it was for him. She'd grown stronger to protect him, to be by his side, and the last seven years she'd been robbed of all of that. Seeing him right now was almost too much to hold onto.

He'd become a man before she'd had a chance to come back. She'd lost so much time.

" Calina. "

Gohan spoke again, still on his back, as he shifted his weight up onto his palms, pushing himself towards her. His tawny brown eyes were deep with fear and doubt, as he looked up at her. His lips pursed into a nervous, uneven line as he contemplated what was in front of him.

She knelt next to him, just off the solid white platform that the tournament was being held on. Her knees pressed into the soft grass, as her body hunched over his. His face was just inches from hers.

She needed to run, to leave. Calina knew that. She couldn't in good sound mind have the conversation with him that was going to come next.

Where she had been, and what had happened to her, had been too much to explain in more than one breath. There was someone after him, after her old friends, her issues would have to be put into the back burner.

Calina knew she only had a few more quiet moment to herself. She took all of his defining features in, almost not recognizing the handsome man who was in front of her.

He had his father's strong jawline and kind smile, while still having his mother's fierce eyes. His unkept black hair was short but a complete mess, and the more she took him in she realized that he looked more and more like the perfect blend of fierce and calm.

The crowd around the stadium had begun to grow louder, and she could feel all of the uneasy eyes cast themselves upon her, unsure of what had just happened to the two fighters in the ring.

" Not possible. "

A gruff, agitated voice shook though the empty center stage of the arena and hit against her back like a jagged knife. The words sunk into her skin, causing it to ripple, forcing her to turn and look behind her shoulder at the spectacle of people who were observing her.

Vegeta was out, front and center, speaking on behalf of everyone who was behind him. His face held an emotion she hadn't seen from him, nor remembered him ever having, a look of sheer fear.

Slowly the expressions of everyone in the group began to filter through, and she watched as each of them responded to her revival in their own way.

Piccolo and Goku both looked on, appearing more shocked than anything, as a familiar small child pushed through the group. She was upset that no one was moving for her, so Turnig bypassed the group, briefly flying overhead before landing just a few yards from where Calina was planted. The budding young warrior approached Calina with some caution as she looked wearily at the group of strangers staring at her.

" Now. "

Turnig spat out rudely, her expression curling into one of discontent, as she knelt down to where Calina was.

Calina's lips parted as she hesitated to speak, leaving her full lips gaped just slightly. She looked at Gohan one last time as she was helped to her feet. Turnig was inpatient, and aggressively bent down and yanked Calina to her feet.

The young Saiyan had taken in their situation and had deemed it unfit for them to stay here. Turnig's feet lifted from the ground as she pulled Calina's exhausted body into the sky and far away from the tournament or anyone who could harm either of them.
