Brennan helps Alex into the car, "You were so brave. I'm proud of you!" She says as she kisses her forehead. Alex smiles and kisses Brennan's cheek. Brennan smiles, "you know what you deserve?" Brennan asks, Alex's wonders, "is it ice cream?" she asks with a smile. "Yes!" Brennan says. She walks up to the driver's seat and begins to head home. When they got home Alex began to look sad and Brennan could tell. Before Brennan could say anything Alex asks, "Tempe..how long am I going to stay with you? I don't want to...leave" she says. Brennan tilts her head to the side and picks her up. "You can stay here as long as you'd like. I'll never make you go away. I'm here to do what, Alex?" she asks her. Alex put her head into the crook of Brennans neck. "To protect me." she whispers. "That's right," Brennan says as she rubs Alex's back. She puts Alex down and says, "Ice cream time?" and Alex nods. Alex sits down at the table, "I wonder when Booth gets here. I like him a lot Tempe!" she says as she licks her ice cream. Brennan laughs as she scoops her ice cream into her own cone. "I like him a lot too. He means a lot to me." she says. Alex continues to lick her ice cream, "more than me?" Alex asks, "no no not more than you. You win by a lot, but don't tell him that. It's our secret." Brennan asks. Alex nods and continues to devour her cone. When Alex finished her cone she told Brennan she wanted to take a shower. She was sticky. Brennan had discovered that Alex was a messy eater. Brennan was cleaning up their ice cream party as Alex showered and Booth was now knocking at the door. "Hey, Bones! Where is my mini bones?" he asks. Brennan lets him in, "She's in the shower, I rewarded her bravery today with an ice cream cone." she says. Booth gasps, "Before dinner? Bones, I am shocked." he says as he clutches his chest. Brennan playfully hits him with the towel she had on her shoulder. "It was a reward, plus you told me yourself I had to fatten her up." she laughs. "Are you cooking for us tonight, Booth?" Brennan asked as she looked at the groceries that were behind Booth. Booth gave Bones his flashiest smile, "Of course, I am! It's a celebration. Putting that bastard away that hurt our little girl!" he said proudly. Not caring that he just said "our little girl" and Brennan didn't mind either. In fact, she encouraged him. Alex came out of her bedroom in her favorite PJ's that Brennan had gotten her. "Hi Booth! I'm hungry." she says as she looks up at her favorite grown ups. Booth picked up the groceries and headed to the kitchen, "Good thing i'm cooking! Isn't that right mini bones." he says. Alex nods and goes "mhhm! Can I help? I want to learn how to cook." she says as she places her hands on her hips. "Of course you can sweetie." says Brennan as she helps her up to the stool.
Brennan is just staring at Booth and Alex cohabitate and she wants to take the necessary steps to adopt Alex. Brennan can feel it in her heart that Alex was meant to be hers. In fact, she already was hers and no one could tell her otherwise. Brennan took her camera out and began to take pictures of the two without them knowing. She needed to capture some memories of her two favorite people. Booth and Alex put the lasagna in the oven and begin to clean up. Brennan began to set the table and Alex wanted to help set that up as well. "Can I help do that too?" she asks Brennan. Brennan responds by handing her the silverware. Alex smiled and placed the silverware down as well. "Great Job, Alex. You're such a good helper." Temperance says. "I have good teachers," Alex responds. Brennan walks over to her and grabs her head and gives her a kiss on the forehead. The tiny family ate dinner happily and spent the rest of their night playing a board game until Alex started falling asleep. "Okay, sleepyhead. Time for bed." Brennan says. Booth prepared himself to carry Alex to bed Brennan picked up Alex who was starting to become heavier. Brennan managed and tucked her into bed, she brushed Alex's hair out of her face and kissed her cheek. "Good night, baby." she whispers to the now happy child. As Brennan stands to leave the bedroom and Alex responds, "Good night mom." Brennan smiles and begins to feel emotional. She walks out of the room with her hands on her chest, "Bones are you okay?" Booth asks as he approaches her. "Alex, she called me mom." Brennan said, "She called me mom. I want to make her mine, officially. I want to adopt her." Booth was happy for Bones but she didn't want to get her hopes up. At least not yet. "Let's take it one step at a time, okay? I'm here to support you, 100%. You're a great mother, Bones." Booth says as he holds her hand. They stood there for a few moments feeling the electricity run through their bodies as their hands held them together. Booth felt like this was the perfect moment. He was there with his family, his heart told him so. He took a step closer and now their faces were a few inches apart. Bone wanted to kiss him, so badly. "Bones, I want to kiss you." he whispers and Bones responds, "I'd like that, actually." they both smiled and began to move closer until their lips had finally touched. The kiss and the contact they wanted all this time has finally happened. They finally separated from their kiss, "Wow," Booth whispers, "Wow, is right." Brennan says. Booth let Brennan's hands go, "I should go. I don't want to rush anything, if that's okay with you." he looks at Bone sincerely. She nods in agreement, "Yes, I think that's best. But, I don't regret anything." she says smiling. "I don't either," he says. Booth gives Bones a kiss on the cheek and heads out for the night. Temperance stood there with the biggest smile on her face. Her hands were now touching her lips and filled with so much happiness she couldn't stand. She had to sit down to continue to replay the moment that Alex had called her mom and Booth finally kissing her. Could her life be falling into place? This is what she wanted. This is what she dreamed about.
