The next morning Brennan woke up to Alex sleeping next to her, she must have had a bad dream or she just didn't want to sleep alone. Brennan got closer to Alex and snuggled up with her. She was beaming and radiating happiness. She kept thinking about her kiss with Booth and Alex calling her mom. Brennan kissed the top of Alex's head and the young girl snuggled up closer to her and wrapped her arm around Temperance. Alex slowly opens her eyes, "Good morning sleepyhead," Brennan says as she whispers. Alex slowly smiles and whispers back, "Good morning Tempe," Brennan smiles and feels a tad bit of sadness she didn't call her mom again. She wanted nothing more but to hear her say it again. It was the weekend and Brennan had to register Alex at a new school. She wanted nothing but the best for Alex and she especially wanted her to succeed academically. Her intelligence and access to resources were suffering at her old school. "We're taking a tour of a school today, maybe your future school, only if you like it." Brennan says studying the girl's face. Alex smiled, "Really?! That's so exciting, I can make friends!" she says. Brennan laughs and tickles Alex "You'll make so many friends!" Alex started to laugh uncontrollably, "Stop it! Stop it, mama!" she says. Brennan stopped and smiled lovingly. Alex became shy, "Hey, it's okay honey." Brennan said consoling her. Alex started playing with her jammies, "Is it okay..that I call you mom? I don't have a mom anymore.." she asks. Brennan fixed Alex's hair, "It's more than okay, honey. Trust me." she says. Alex smiled and hugged Brennan very tightly. "I think it's time for breakfast, don't you think?" Brennan asks, "Yes, it is! Can we go to the diner?" Alex asks. "Whatever you want. You will go to take shower and so will I. We'll get dressed and we'll head on out for our day!" she says. Alex nodded and ran to her bedroom and Brennan fell right back on her bed giggling. She hasn't felt this much love for a human being and she finally understood Booth's emotions when it came to being a parent. Both girls got dressed and headed on out to the diner.
They sat down and ordered their food and Booth walked in. Alex noticed him right away, "Hi Booth! Over here" she yells and waves ecstatically. Brennan smiles, "Hey Bones, mini bones, what are your plans today?" he asks as he sits down. Brennan was chewing so Alex was more than happy to tell Booth about her tour. "We're going to take a tour of my new school. I'm so excited!" she says as she holds her orange juice. "Careful honey. You don't want to spill." Brennan says as she hands Alex a napkin. Alex giggled and took the napkin. "Alright! New school," Booth says ans turns to Bones, "Where is this school?" he asks. Brennan smiles, "Lincoln Prep Elementary and before you say anything about it. I know how you feel about private education but I truly feel Alex will benefit from the small class sizes." she says to Booth while raising an eyebrow. Booth chuckled, "No, I think it's a great idea. I hope they have a great science department, right Alex?" he says. Alex nods, "Yes, me too! I want to join a science club and maybe even an art club if they have it!" she says. "Can you come to Booth?" she asks him and then turns to Brennan, "Mom can he come?!" she asks. Booth grinned with joy because he had witnessed Alex calling Bones mom. Brennan smiled too and looked at Booth, "If you don't have any plans, you're more than welcomed to come," she says. She wanted him to go with them. He wanted Booth to be involved and she knew that deep down he wanted to be as well. Booth clapped his hands, "I'm more than happy to go! I want to make sure it's safe and that it's good enough for my mini bones." he says as he stole a piece of bacon from Alex's plate. Alex giggled and pushed her plate towards Booth, "You can have more if you'd like, I'm stuffed. I've never eaten so much in life." she says.
The little family walked into Lincoln Prep both holding Alex's hand and so far Alex was loving the tour. She especially enjoyed the tour of the science and math department. "Look, mom! They're learning about the pythagorean theorem." Alex says as she points to one of the boards. The tour guide looked at Alex with an intrigued face, "Alex do you know what pythagorean theorem is?" she asks and Alex nods, "Yes, of course. It states that the area of the square whose side is the hypotenuse is equal to the sum of the areas of the squares on the other two sides. I like math too!" she says. The tour guide looks at Brennan and Booth, "Your daughter is incredible." and both don't even bother to correct the woman. Alex was theirs and they both knew that. Brennan smoothes out Alex's hair, "Yes, she is. Alex, would like to go to school here?" she asks the girl. Alex nods and jumps, "Yes, I'd love to! I love it here." she says happily. The tour guide claps her hand in enjoyment, "It's settled," she says as she looks at Brennan, "Dr. Brennan we can schedule Alex's entrance exam for Monday. We'll have a better idea as to which courses will be beneficial for her." Brennan nods, "of course. I'll send out the confirmation and tuition today. Thank you so much." Booth picks up Alex, "Aren't you excited honey?" he asks her. Alex put her hands around Booth's neck. "Yes, I am! I can't wait!" "Looks like we have to get you some uniforms, honey." Brennan says as she looks through the pamphlet. They began to walk out of the building and Brennan almost tripped over a step and Booth held her hand to regain her balance. Booth didn't want to let her hand go and neither did Brennan. They remained holding hands and Alex had noticed. Alex giggled and decided to stay along Booth's side and hold his hand.
