Chapter 2: The Stepfamily

Marinette was rather hesitant about this idea, but she'd do anything for her papa to be happy. Besides, she would love to have sisters. Not that she didn't have any friends, but most of the maids besides Alya didn't talk to her that much, and hamsters weren't big talkers either... so here she was, waiting with her father by the front door for their new stepfamily.

A carriage drove up, and Marinette waited nervously with her father as the door opened.

Two girls stepped out, followed by their mother, and Marinette's first impression was... she would say hideous, but that would be unkind, so... brightly colored? As an aspiring seamstress Marinette knew quite a bit about fashion, and ChloƩ, Sabrina, and Lila Rossi... didn't seem to.

Marinette pushed her thoughts aside, and offered her new stepsisters a tour of the house.

Marinette already had a feeling that she and her new stepsisters weren't going to get along very well. From what she had seen, they seemed to be rude, pampered, selfish brats who were used to getting whatever they wanted. They had the audacity to insult her mother's taste in how she decorated their house, and then Mrs. Rossi seemed to have lied and pretended that they were joking!

"Marinette, calm down! Be kind, remember?" She told herself. Perhaps she was judging them unfairly... Maybe they were just stressed and tired from the journey? Yes, that was probably it, and she should just be patient and kind, and this would work out.

She pulled herself from her musings, and rushed off to help the Rossis settle in, still being as kind as ever.

A/N: I'll be responding to comments my story receives here, in my author's notes at the end of each chapter. So:

BookCat62408: Thanks, don't worry I'll definitely continue. I checked out your profile, maybe you should start writing stories too!

Aria2006: Thanks, I really hope so! I won't stop writing, and Cinderella is my favorite fairytale too!

Potato: Well, I hope you continue to like it! I'm not exactly sure about the time frame of the movie, but I tried to follow it as best as I can, also... does Lie-la Rossi even know what grieving is? And maybe Tom just married her out of pity or something, I don't think he actually loved her, even in the movie, it wouldn't really make sense. Thanks for your critique!
