Chapter 5: Sketching
"I am so sick of Chloé! Sure, she's my sister, but still... She'll wake up at lunchtime and demand breakfast! She'll order anyone and everyone around according to each little whim and fancy, including me, the only person who she doesn't is our mother. She is terrible at playing the piano, and her singing!" Sabrina silently ranted.
She was trying to sketch a picture of her mother, but she wasn't really good at drawing. Besides, how was anyone ever supposed to concentrate with that horrible noise that is Chloé attempting to sing!
She frowned and erased a smudge, but saw a shadow fall across the paper and looked up.
"Here, fix the lips... like this, and change the eyes a little bit," said Marinette. Why was she helping Sabrina? She followed Marinette's advice, and to her astonishment, the picture looked worlds better.
"Thank you," she told her stepsister quietly. She looked up, hearing something fall to the floor. A plate of food had fallen off the small table beside her mother, who was smirking at Marinette as she bent down to pick it up. She must have knocked it off on purpose! She wanted to say something, but... no, she just couldn't! Besides, as her mother and sister said, why should she stand up for her perfect little stepsister anyways... right? But somehow... she still felt like she should. But no, she stamped down on that thought firmly, and tried to go back to her drawing. At least Chloé had finished her song, and maybe the next one wouldn't be so horrible... though she doubted it.
Chloé was about to start another, but her mother finally decided she'd had enough, and told her, "do shut up."
Chloé decided to shut up.
A/N: I know that I like just posted chapter 4, but hey, I doubt anyone is complaining about me posting this so soon... plus I'm making up for the days I didn't post anything, I guess. I'm working on chapter 10 right now, it's probably going to be just about my favorite chapter in this whole story! I'm not going to give anything away, but I'll just tell you that it's the forest scene (except it's going to be waaaaay cuter than in the movie)! I can't wait to finish it!
